Flat field plugin BUG (Windows)

I battled long and hard to get the flat field plugin to work and finally it does. However there is a small bug important bug:
If the file directory name has a scandinavian character (in this case there was an ä), the plugin fails to work.
I hope this fill be fixed in a future release.

Thanks, this has actually saved me a lot of time chatting with Adobe support... the same problem does exist with German special characters (such as ä, ä, ü). I have just upgraded from pre-release version of LR5.3 to the final version and (by pure chance) used a directory with a special character. I thought at first the problem was caused by the upgrade. Thanks again for pointing out the bug.

I have installed icloud plugin for windows 7. The plugin for Outlook Calender has a bug. When i set up a meeting and invite attendies the time received by attendies is exactly 1 hour earlier then the time set in meeting or appointment. I have checked the time zone settings on my computer, on receivers computer and also on iclould online interface. They are all same.
Please help me resolve this issue.

Issues with DNG Flat Field Plug-in after installing updates

Hello,
First of all many thanks to the Lightroom-team for making the DND Flat Field Plug-in available. I am using it to correct images taken with non-retrofocus M-mount lenses on a Sony NEX-7. I have previously used CornerFix, which worked fine, but the workflow in conjunction with Lighroom isn't really convenient.
Now to the issue I am facing: initially, the plug-in worked very well, but after installing all recent CS6 updates, I am now receiving the following after selecting the reference image:
A new DNG-file is still created, with some adjustments being made, but it looks like not all vignetting and color casts are being corrected. After dismissing the above message, Lightroom keeps showing the flat field correction task as still in progress:
This can be cancelled, and I can continue to use LR without any problems. When I attempt another flat field correction, I face the same issue.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? And is it possibly correlated with the installation of a specific CS6 update (of which there have been quite a few over the past week or so)?
I should probably note that I'm running LR 4.2 on Mac OS X 10.7.5 and a Mac Pro 2008 with 24GB RAM.

I had the exact same issue with LR4.2, that is until yesterday. Then I did not get the error but I did not get the flat field image either. All I got was the original image indicating that it was in a group of two but the second image was not there. Tried synchronize but no image was indicated.as available. Processing did not hang and indicated that it went to completion. Must be a problem with 4.2 as it worked with 4.1. With 4.1 I got no grouping, just a new file with "ff" appended to the name.
Asside: I am using a shift adapter with a E-M5 and 28mm OM legacy lens. I shoot three images for a pano, then set the shift back to starting point and shoot three flat field image. Problem (not Adobe's fault) it that I often forget to shoot the flat fliel images. Break down to move on and then realize - Oh Crap! When I remember and using 4.1 it works well.

64-bit plugin under Windows 7

I am having trouble loading a 64-bit SDK plugin on Windows 7. I tried the simple gradient import plugin which seems to build fine under x64 but, Photoshop does not load the file. Anyone been able to get this working and if so was there any changes you need to make?

We have no problems with our x64 plugin on Win7. You may want to either examine PIPL or use Window Event Viewer or/and Microsoft Depend tool to make sure all the external dependencies are properly satisfied (manifest issues are a pretty common problem) as both of these result in a silent failure. You may also want to take a look at the debug output trace to see whether PS even tries to load you plugin

DNG Flat Field Plug-in usable with Bridge/ACR?

Can the DNG Flat Field plug-in be used at all with Adobe Bridge and ACR, or to apply a flat field must you import images into Lightroom and create DNG files using Lightroom?
Also - must you apply the flat field correction before you apply any other processing or development to the main image? i.e. I assume the main image and flat field calibration image must have identical processing steps applied to them and those should be default or minimal development.

No, the DNG Flat Field plug-in can only be used with Lightroom. It is specifically a plug-in for Lightroom.
The Develop adjustments do not affect the flat field correction. Internally, the plug-in will apply the calibration to the image data before any of the Develop adjustments come into play. (This is necessary because the flat field or shading correction needs to be applied very early in the image processing pipeline.) So, it does not matter what you have your Develop controls set to.
In terms of a practical workflow, it makes sense to apply your flat field correction before even going into Develop. This is because the result of a flat field correction will change the baseline or "starting point" for your image (e.g., it will change the color and/or tonal balance). So, it is better to find out what that corrected starting point is before you begin tuning color and tone in Develop.

Plugin for Windows Media Player is not working with Firefox 4 on Windows 7

I updated my Firefox to the latest version 4 yesterday, but since this time seems plugin for Windows Media Player not working anymore. When I visit some website with embedded video - like [http://www.ta3.com/sk/live this] - the window with WMP is not displayed and no video is playing. The website reports: You don´t have any plugin for playing of this video.
I reinstalled the plugin for WMP several times - with no success. This problem is on all webpages with embedded video for WMP. The installation of WMP plugin is successfully finished, but no video is playing. I checked the “plugins“ folder in the installation directory of Firefox and everything seems to be OK. Where is also the problem? Please, help me with solving of this problem...

Firefox Flash Plugin bug?

Hi everyone,
I have multiple Flex Applications (wrapped as portlets in
Liferay) working on the same page at the same time in separate
flash players, of course.
When I access the page by Mosilla Firefox browser, all page
portlets get reloaded after the last one is initialized.
And the worst - each of them gets initialized again - it
means that all data gets loaded again. This is proved by log
records: in case of Firefox each portlet loads data twice, in case
of using IE - once.
Have you ever faced the same problem? Is it a Firefox Flash
plugin bug or what?

Also, the Cancel operation on a FileReference causes the same issue to happen as does loading. I really think it's an operating system focus issue.

Unable to debug indesign cs5 plugin in windows

We are having some problems with an indesign sc5 plugin, it works perfectly in macosx but in windows it causes indesign to crash. Anyway after some trouble shooting we tried running it in debug indesign. Problem is that the debug version of indesign wont even start, it fezzes in the splash screen on "Registering xxx plug-ins". It hangs before we can write anything in log files and thatching a debugger gives nothing. Closer inspections
revealed that all the indesign treads is in "waiting" state. Waiting for what? Don't know. Killing one of the threads allows indesign to start but it will not have loaded the plugin and we are back on square one unable to debug.
Anyway I installed the osx version of debug indesign and starting it gives an assert like:

Examining the stack of the indesign main thread in windows gives pretty much the same thing:

So the win version is trying to show an assert window but fails, locking indesign in the splash screen? Stoping indesign before any plugin execution?
As we cant get any debug information out we don really know what the problem is, making it rather hard to debug. We have triple checked the build and linking options. Studied the plugin exports. Inserted an ridiculous amount of trace statements in the code, doesn't work in the debug version but anyway.
Have anyone had a problem like this or know what might cause it?
What happens in the indesign startup process, what does the “Registering plug-ins” actually do? It's not executing any plugin functions and the the initialization of the plugins doesn't happen until later.

You are correct in that none pf the plug-in code is executed during the "Registering ### plug-ins" phase. What is done here is simply loading the plugins by reading from their resource definitions. For example, if you try to load a CS4 plug-in in InDesign CS5 or if you try to load a release plug-in in debug version you will get errors and popups here and your plugin will not load and be available (these are just example errors and may not be relevant to your case). As far as I know InDesign should not crash just because there is a problem with your plugin, but there could be bugs.
I would recommend:
1. Remove your plugins and verify that InDesign debug starts properly without any 3rd party extensions.
2. Compile one of the SDK sample plugins (debug target) and make sure that InDesign still starts properly.
3. Create a new project using DollyXs, compile it and make sure it loads in InDesign.
4. Remove the template files and add your own source files except the basic .fr file and make sure it still loads in InDesign.
5. Keep changing things one at a time in your .fr file and verify it still loads until it looks exactly like your original .fr file.
Good luck.
Note: "No translation of key 'XXX' to British string." errors is in general quite harmless. It's only a problem with the string translation and should only affect string output in menus/dialogs etc. They should of course be fixed, but can generally be ignored for a while unless an infinite ASSERT loop prevents you from debugging.

Firefox plugin bug

Problem:
The scrollbar fails to update its position while scrolling unless the bar is dragged with the cursor. Methods of scrolling in which the scrollbar is not updated include:
*Mouse wheel
*Keyboard
*Clicking/holding down scrollbar buttons
*Clicking/holding down open space on scrollbar
The scrollbar is repainted only after the pointer enters/exits the scrollbar area.
This failure to update the scrollbar creates confusion and frustration while reading PDF documents.
Error occurs on these platforms:
Windows 7, 32-bit with Firefox 3 and Adobe Reader X plugin
Windows 7, 32-bit with Firefox 4 and Adobe Reader X plugin

Please note - this is a workaround I have discovered for Firefox 4.0, Adobe Reader X, Firefox plug-in version 10.0.1.434:
I think I have discovered a workaround for this issue - but it still needs to be fixed...
1. Go into Adobe Reader X.
2. Click on Edit, then Preferences, then Documents.
3. Uncheck the box "Allow documents to hide the menu bar, toolbars, and window controls."
4. Within the Preferences box, click on General.
5. Uncheck "Enable Protected Mode at Startup".
When I performed step 4, I was able to highlight the address in the address bar, but NOT type in the address bar and change the address. After performing step 5, I was able to type in and change the address in the address bar.
As stated, it is not a permanent solution, but to me (and probably others), I think it is a good workaround for the time being.
I am hoping this is related to the bug you were discussing. if not, my apologies and could an admin move this post to an appropriate place.
