The flat file ur asking for should be provided by ur func cons.
According to the file u can do a recording and capture the fields provided and then upload it using LSMW or BDC according to ur comfortable areas.

As far as I know EDI can be read by SAP as Idoc directly without conversion. At least I would try this.
I checked in WE20 /partner profiles/ for outbound parameters there is a tab called 'EDI standards' and here you can define the EDI parameters. However there is no such tab for inbound processing.
What I would do /using transaction code SALE/
- define logical systems
- assign the received to the client
- create RFC port for Idoc processing
- create distribution model with the correct message type
- create port as file
- define or generate partner profiles
Try to upload sample files via transaction WE19 or WE16.
You can try to debug the inbound processing and write a program based on that, which could be scheduled as a background job.
I had a program doing similar, but it was another message type and it was XML based, however the FMs I used are the following:
'EDI_PORT_READ' - read port definition
'EPS_GET_DIRECTORY_LISTING' - get the file names in the dir
'EDI_DATA_INCOMING' - process idocs

How to design Flat file for loading attribute dimension in a planning application

Dear Gurus,
I have a requirement to extract attribute dimensions from an essbase application and load it to another planning application. I have a dimension called Program and two attribute dimensions Sales Manager, Accounts manager associated with Program dimension in Essbase application. I will Extract these dimensions using Essbase outline extractor. After Extracting the attribute dimensions I have to load these dimensions to planning applications using outline load utility. Kindly guide me how to design the flat file for loading attribute dimensions in planning application.

You could dig through the docs and try to figure out the file format manually, or you could do this the easy way. Simply use the Outline Load Utility to export your attribute dimension from Planning. The export file format is the same as the import file format. You might have to manually add a couple of test members to your attribute dimension so that your export file has some content. Then simply update the file you exported, and import it.
(I am assuming you have already manually created the Attribute dimension in Planning, and that you simply need to add members to it.)

Payment blocking for MIRO invoice.

    We Need to build Payment release workflow for MIRO invoice.
    If the invoice amount exceeds 10000, that line item need to be blocked and shoudl be sent a mail for approval.
    My doubt is, whether the payment blocking is done by configuration settings or will workflow take care of that one?
    Requirement is, line item should be blocked automatically while posting the doc in MIRO.
    If it can be done by configuration, could anybody suggest the path to do so.

Extracting from flat file for testing inplace of ECC(r/3)

We are creating a custom table in ECC it is under progress.
I would like to create infoObject, transformation, DTP and Cube and create queries with loading info by flate file. Later on connection whole provider to table.

Loading from a flat file for testing has worked well for me. We recently wanted to test an ODS object, but I didn't want to create a custom extracter until we knew if the ODS object would work for us. So under my infoSource I created a quick infopackage that pulled some test data from a flat file. We've loaded test data into cubes before. Only problem that I ever had was when I used Excel to create the flat file. Excel wants to truncate leading zeros. 0calmonth for example needs to be loaded as 072007 not 72007.

AR Invoice Flat Files For Customers

There's a requirement to provide a data file with outstanding AR invoice to one of our customers.
In this we are goning to develop a program to extract the relevant outstanding invoices.However we are going to have the following controls as well.
01) Allow the user to extract the invoices an may times they want till they upload the file to customer's suystem
02) To allow that facility we are going to define a process called draft extraction and a final extraction.
03) Once a file has been successfully uplaoded they should confirm that the batch has been uploaded successfully
04) If a batch has been confirmed as successful users cannot extract the invoices again. If they want to do it they need to clear the values populated in the DFF which are anables for this purpose.
05) If a batch has been generated in final mode it must be confirmed prior to generating a new file. Otherwise no output will be generated.
My question is normally what are the other types of controls that you implement in these type of scenarios.
and what sort of information do we need to capture in our side in the extractions.

Few inputs -
1. I hope you would extract based on invoice 'complete' status but you may need to include the logic to make sure no change happens on the invoice after your final extract. (Ex user can incomplete the invoice, make some change and again complete it)
2. You may also include some reconciliation mechanism such as # of invoice count and amount extracted = # of invoice count and amount in flat file.You can use staging tables information to do this reconciliation.

To change "package" file format to "flat" files for iDisk

First, let me thank Yvan Koenig for providing a great script to convert "Word2Pages"...
There is a problem at present discussed on the MobileMe forum page, with files not uploading to iDisk using Finder. One problem is that whereas "flat" files load, "package" files do not. (There is a choice in the Pages Preferences for these options.) This limitation also applies to emailling files.
I used Yvan's "Word2Pages" batch conversion script for hundreds of files which saved me days of work. However, to load these onto my iDisk I need to convert them to "flat" files.
Please can I humbly ask him to write a similar script for converting files from "package2flat". I am not so advanced as he in computer literacy and would surely appreciate his help.

Thank you finding a solution to the default setting. I wonder how many Pages 09 files have been produced as packages with umpteen subfolders for things that will never be used. No wonder my Finder kept on crashing when I tried to upload to my iDisk.
I have written a bug report to Apple via Pages so hope they will change the default setting for "Copy Audio and Movies to the Document".
I am puzzled about your Word2Pages script still producing "package" files even after making the changes to default values that you describe. Could it be that the code is calling up old default values from somewhere else. There seems to be a plist in the Application folder and another in the User library.
Is this the relevant piece of code?

The requirement is that the sysytem has to pick flat file generated by the third party tool and that has to be updated in the SAP and the document generated has to be download in the same flat file.
Can u plz let me whether it can happen or not.
Also tell me the flat file i have specified is correct or not?

Hi,
The file format differ for different transaction. Basically you can have the field in any order. It matters how you upload into SAP. Use the function module GUI_UPLOAD to upload the flat file.

LSMW:use Recording for practise.
We use Lsmw to upload large amount of data.Almost 60% logic will be provided by system and error handling is also very easy.
LSMW supports Session method and Direct Input only.It doesn't support all Transaction method.We can use BAPI's and IDoc's also.
We need to follow some steps.In case of session method
The steps are:
1.Maintain Object Attributes : here we can specify which mehod we are using
.select and execute it.
It contains 4 options
*Standard Batch/Direct Input : we can you predified objects provided by sap
*Batch Input Recording : we can record a particular transaction: give name ->select overview->provide recording name->do the recording->select default all->save->f3
*BAPI
*Idoc->save -> back
2.Maintain Source Structures-we have to maintain a structure nothing but Internal table->save -> back
3.Maintain Source Fields : we have to maintain fields we can create and we can copy from repository->save -> back
4.Maintain Structure Relations: here our structure is assigned to Our recording if we use recording->save -> back
5.Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules : here fields are mapped;just go to EXTRAS->auto field mapping,for checking unassigned fields->EXTRAS->un assigned fields->save -> back
6.Maintain Fixed Values, Translations, User-Defined Routines: here we can specify fixed values and user defined sub routines->save -> back
7.Specify Files : we have to give the path of file and name and delimitor details->save -> back
8.Assign Files : we have to assign our file,it will be automatically assigned -> save -> back
9.Read Data->execute->records will be read
10.Display Read Data->displays the no.of records read
11.Convert Data->execute ->f3(writes records)
12.Display Converted Data->execute->f3
13.Create Batch Input Session->creates session->execute->f3
14.Run Batch Input Session->controls leads to sm35->process->check i log if it contains errors.

Different formats of the flat file for the same target

In our deployment, we use plugin code to extract the csv files in the required format. The customers are on same version of datamart, but they are on different versions of source database - from 3.x to 4.5 depending on which version of application they are using. In 4.0, we introduced a new column email in the user table in the source database. Accordingly, plugin will add the field in the csv file. But not all the customers will get the upgraded version of plugin at the same time. So ETL code needs to decide which data flow to process depending on the format of the csv file to load data to the same target table. I made the email field in the target table nullable but it still expects the same format of the csv file with delimiter for null value.
Need help to achieve this. Can I read the structure of the flat file in DS or get the count of delimiters so that I can use a conditional to use different data flow based on the format of the flat files.
Can I make the email column in the flat file optional?

You can add an email column that maps to null in a query transform for the source that does not contain this column.
Or else you can define two different file formats that map to the same file. One with the column and one without

I tried to take structure from the structures BBKPF and BBSEG structures.
I have 59 fields in my file and I need to map these fields with the structures BBKPF and BBSEG to prepare the structures for
