Flattener Preview Highlight Settings Grayed Out

Had to re-install of my Adobe programs due to an overal computer issue.
I am running Mac OS X 10.7.5 - Adobe Acrobat X - Adobe InDesign CS5.5
I have not had this issue before the reinstall. I have a Adobe InDesign file and did an export to PDF.
I chose Adobe PDF Preset - Smallest File Size, I used the default settings for Smallest File Size preset.
When I opened that file in Acrobat and went to Tools > Print Production > Flattener Preview
When the Flattener Preview window opens at the top it show preview settings. Under the "Highlight" section
the selections are grayed out. I am using items with tranparency within the PDF. Also I have successfully used this
option with this file before. Not sure what is causing the highlight options to be grayed out.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

After hours of messing with this I think I figured it out! Seems like a possible bug in the program. Turns out that even though pages throughout the PDF had trasparency, in this particular case, the first page in the PDF did not. So the "highlight" pull-down menu window is grayed out and it seems to be because the first page does not have transparency even though I had "all pages" checked.
So I went back into the PDF and selected a page that HAD transparency. Then when back into the flattener preview settings and clicked on "all pages" and went back to the "Highlight" menu and trasparency selections were there.
So seems like a weird bug in Acrobat that you have to have a page in the preview window that has transparency for it to work on all pages.
Hope this makes sense!

iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim
    Symptoms
In rare instances, the setting to turn on Wi-Fi on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch may appear grayed out or dim. You may see the following when you tap Settings > Wi-Fi.
If this occurs, you can't turn Wi-Fi on, and when you try to turn Wi-Fi on, your device won't respond. If you're using iOS 7, Wi-Fi may appear to turn on and off in Control Center, but Wi-Fi won't respond.
    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Restart your iOS device.
Make sure that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
Make sure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.
If you still can't turn Wi-Fi on, please contact Apple for support and service options. If you can turn Wi-Fi on but are experiencing other issues with Wi-Fi, please see these steps.

Your device has a hardware failure and only replacement or repair will fix it.  Take it to an Apple Store or an Apple authorized service provider.

  • Flattener Preview  - Highlight pulldown nothing available

I have been noticing that with certain files when I am using the Flattener preview there are no options available (grayed out) in the Highlight pulldown menu. However, other files do reveal available options. Now, what puzzles me is that both files can have outlined strokes but for some reason "Outlined Strokes" in the pulldown is grayed out in one file and not the other. This isn't limited to two specific files either. It happens with a number of my files. Illustrator CS, CS2 or CS3 are all affected the same way. So, I figure it has something to do in the way the file is set up. I like to use this to help find stokes that need to be expanded before sending off to press. Can anyone explain to me what is going on here?
    Thanks!

BINGO! That worked. I drew a solid object and set it's color to a percentage, refreshed my Flattener Preview and behold selections in my Highlights drop down. Now I can see those hidden outlines in my artwork.
    Thanks Mordy!

  • Locaton & Security (My Location) Settings Grayed Out

I recently added Where'sMyDroid from the marketplace (helps locate missing phone, gives GPS location of lost phone).  After that, my GPS stopped working.  Using the Android Power widget, I was able to turn it back on but when I go to Location & Security>My Location, only the E911 is shown in bold.  The other three choices ("Google Location Services," Standalone GPS Services," and "VZW Location Services") are all checked in their green boxes but all three are grayed out leaving me unable to check or uncheck any one of them.  Anyone else encountered this?  May or may not be related at all to Where'sMyDroid...just that was the last thing that changed before I noticed the problem.  Uninstalling that ap doesn't do it, either.

To get to the SYSTEM MENU :
    - Power OFF
    - Press & HOLD the HOME button (2nd button from left)
    - Power up - continue to hold HOME
You'll see a triangle with the droid guy inside. Release the HOME button.  Press BOTH the up/down vol. controls at the same time and you should see a Menu pop up ...  use the down arrow to scroll through choices. Select WIPE SYSTEM CACHE  WIPE CACHE PARTITION.. and press the Power button to select it .. When complete, the option should be highlighted to REBOOT ... press Power button to select that ..  Check your settings again.

  • CS5 Playback Settings grayed out and no longer can set playback on external monitor.

I like to view my projects while editing on an external monitor but the Playback Settings are grayed out. I've done all my prior projects with external monitor display enabled with no problems and can go back to a prior projects completed and view them using an external playback monitor.  For some reason, the Playback Settings on my latest project are grayed out and I'm not able to set Desktop Video Display During Playback.
The last project worked on was about 3 months ago. Last week, I started working on two new projects and noticed that I wasn't able to set playback to my external monitor. All my devices are hooked up and I can review older projects on the external monitor but can't set two new projects to use display on the external monitor.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Problem solved. My fault.
The Sequence Preset Settings selected must support the device the external monitor is connected to. In my case, IEEE 1394 firewire. I corrected the new project to the correct Sequence Settings and can now view playback on the external monitor.

"The Desktop Video 9.7.5 software update allows users to take advantage of many new features in the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop applications such as powerful new editing timelines and shortcuts and audio mixing with Adobe Premiere Pro® CC and new creative and visual effects tools with Adobe After Effects® CC."
So everything should be covered on that front. And as I listed, I was getting playback out of AE CC, so I feel it is solely an issue in Premiere. That was worth checking out though since CC is so new. Thanks for replying.

  • Sql 2012 integration services settings grayed out

Our DBAs are trying to change some settings for integration services by following this article:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337083.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
however everything on the properties window is grayed out. I have the same issue despite being a local admin on this server.
Are there any other settings I need to change to gain access to this? I can change all other settings under dcom config

    Hi vanquish12,
Please make sure that you right click on “Component Services” and select "Run as Administrator" to start up “Component Services”.
However, if the integration services settings are still grayed out, the issue could be due to permission restrictions on your system. Please perform the following steps to solve this issue.
    1. Right-click on SQL Server Integration Services 11.0 and select Properties in Component Services/Computers/My computer/DCOM Config. In the General tab, record the Application ID of SQL Server Integration Services 11.0.
    2. Start the registry editor (regedit), find the following key, then right click it and select Permissions, add your account in the Permissions dialog and grant full control rights to your account.
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\{ Application ID of step 1}
    3. Check that if integration services settings are enabled in Component Services.

  • Resolving Wi-Fi settings grayed out issue O2 UK

Well I have the infamous grayed out Wi-Fi issue.
I'm posting this discussion so those in the UK know what their options are.
If you call Apple UK support, they will ask you to try the following:
Verify that Airplane Mode is off.
    Restart your device
    Update your device
    Reset Network Settings
    Restore your device in iTunes.
Obviously most people would've tried these, the first is, frankly, an insult.
Some of these steps may provide temporary resolution, but none are a reliable and permanent fix in my experience.
    Apple then provide three options:
Book an appointment with an Apple store (not Stormfront). The store will run diagnostics and may replace your hand-set.
Book a collect-repair-return. Typical turnaround 10 working days.
Book a courier to do an exchange on your doorstep. This costs £25 and they put a block on a credit card for the entire value of the phone until they're able to verify the phone you have returned. An iPhone 5 64gb requires £700 of available credit.
They will waive the courier fee if you sign up for Apple care or if you ask very nicely.
If you deal directly with your network provider the likelihood is they'll do a collect-repair-return on your behalf which means there's another party involved, though for a small deposit they may loan you a temporary handset.
So there you have it. I live miles away from an Apple store and don't have £700 of available credit so I'm a bit stumped. I don't want to be without a phone for two weeks so I'm forced to drive 90 miles to an Apple store, I just hope they conclude the handset is faulty and replace, if they don't I'll be kicking up a fuss.

Obviously most people would've tried these, the first is, frankly, an insult.
So you clearly haven't bothered to read these forums then
So if you don't have a technical question
you will no doubt be buying an Android phone

  • Ichat settings grayed out after 10.6.4 update

I just updated from 10.6.3 to 10.6.4. I quit all services prior to installing the update. I ran the update, the machine restarted. I logged in and ran disk utility and repaired permissions. I restarted all services, but noticed ichat was already started and there is no option in Server Admin to Stop ichat. Also, all settings for ichat are grayed out.
I tried running 'sudo serveradmin settings jabber' from terminal and get the following:
    jabber = emptydictionary
I can start and stop ichat through terminal, but I have no control of ichat through Server Admin.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
    The server name is currently
    Current HostName = 66-195-146-6.static.twtelecom.net
as it gets its host name from the reverse lookup on the IP address you give the server. To ensure the server works at it was designed to, you need to have your ISP change they reverse record for your IP address 66.195.146.6 to the name users.tailored.com. Then rerun the command *sudo changeip 66.195.146.6 66.195.146.6 66-195-146-6.static.twtelecom.net users.tailored.com* and it should clean up your server settings and hopefully fix the problem with the ichat settings being grayed out.
