  • IPhone Crashes PC (Blue Screen) Because Of Pictures in Roll Film

A previous thread has been locked...but I have a similar problem...so I have copied this in the hope that someone has solved this...
    THE PROBLEM:
My query is regarding the synchronization of the iPhone with a PC.
    WHAT HAPPENS:
When I connect my iphone to my PC the message appears on a pop up "Digital Camera" then a few seconds later the BSOD blue screen appears and my PC crashes.
    WHAT IT IS:
I have done some research into this and found out that it is when you have pictures in the 'camera roll' folder. So I took advice and deleted all my pictures in the 'camera roll' folder and sure enough the pop up didn't appear and my PC didn't crash and it synced with itunes perfectly.
    WHAT I'VE TRIED:
I have tried as on the apple website they recommended, I looked for all other imaging software and drivers installed on my PC and uninstalled them. This didn't resolve my problem it still popped up saying "digital camera" and then my PC crashed.
HOW I HAVE STOPPED IT AT THE MOMENT:
At the moment i have managed to stop my PC crashing when pictures are in the 'camera roll' folder and stopped my PC recognizing it as a digital camera. I did this by:
    1. Open up the manage section of 'My Computer'
    2. Clicking on device manager
    3. Plugging the iphone into the dock
    4. Waiting for it to appear under 'cameras and scanners' section in the device manager.
    5. Wen it appears right clicking the iPhone and choosing disable
The icon that appears and i disable in this section is the 'windows scanner and camera wizard' which makes me think it could be this which is causing it.
    MY FINAL PROBLEM NOW:
I don't know how to get my photo's off the iPhone since i have disabled the thing i would use to get them.
Please try and tell me what i can do to either fix this problem or another method to get the pictures off my iPhone.
P.S. I HAVE DONE AS APPLE SUGGEST AND UNINSTALL ALL OTHER IMAGING SOFTWARE.
    ADDITONAL INFO:
From the previous thread, this seems to be a problem primarily with the ACER laptops.
    Please can anyone advise??
    Thanks

Mine worked! I downloaded the Acer Orbicam (Logitech) File and installed it and when the iphone is plugged in it comes up as iphone #2.. and doesn't crash.. Works great! The link above is for my model laptop.. not sure which one you have but this file worked for me..

  • Installing AIR application gives blue screen of death

I tried installing an Adobe AIR application called HelloWorld.air from a book entitled "Adobe Flex 3 Training from the Source", and I would get the Windows' blue screen of death. I've seen others post about this, so I know I am not alone. My operating system is Windows XP Professional SP 2 and above.
This issue is preventing me from even getting into Adobe AIR application development, and I was wondering when a fix for this will be made. I tried downloading the Adobe AIR runtime again, but it is still the same byte size as the previous one I downloaded, so I'm assuming it's still the same one (since it doesn't state any version number).
Is there anyone who has had this problem and was eventually able to work with Adobe AIR? Any response would be immensely appreciated.
    Thanks.

I remember when I was getting BSODs the first time I tried installing an
.AIR application on my laptop, I got that "Send Error Report" window from
Microsoft, and I had clicked to send it. It came back with a report stating
that this was being caused by anti-virus software. This time around, I
turned off my anti-virus software (from CA, or Computer Associates) I
downloaded your application and tried to install it, and once again, I only
got as far as where I could select to save an icon to my desktop and/or to
launch the application after install, and when I clicked the "Install"
button, I got the BSOD right away.
I went the extra mile this time though. I installed Adobe AIR and your
application on another desktop that is totally clean with absolutely no
antivirus software whatsoever, not even a software firewall. I got the same
BSOD at the exact same spot.
I know Adobe knows about this because of a past thread I had not only read,
but responded to as well. It's just unfortunate it hasn't been fixed yet
because I'm really raring to start writing Adobe AIR apps.
By the way, Damon, your app looks nice, I just wish I had been able to
install it to see what it's all about. Lastly, thank you for responding to
my issue. I will report this as a bug on that link you gave me.

  • P7N SLI - PC suddenly stops or 'blue screens'

I been running Windows 7 for some time using this MB using both PATA & SATA as the boot drive.  However, running Adobe Lightroom v4, I noticed that it was running a tad slow using the PATA drive & switched over to the SATA drive which is when things became unstable with the system either just stopping or 'blue screening' - the infamous Windows 'blue screen of death'.
I attempted a clean build of Windows 7 but it 'blue screened' just after the installation process.  I've tried 2 other SATA drives with the same result so it can't be a faulty SATA drive.
If I boot from PATA, it runs without any of the problems that affect the SATA boot and I can read/write at will to & from the SATA drives.
Another problem which I think is related, is that when I added another SATA drive to the system, the PC would not boot, there was an almost continuous beep from the bios.  I noticed that there was no screen, so I removed the video card, reseated it and re-booted whereupon there was an error message to say the the the MB had been overclocked beyond it's capabilities & MB would be reset with default settings.  Strange, 'cause I've never overclocked the system.
To my mind, it looks like the SATA interface is playing up but what I don't understand id why I can still read/write to them.
Any help or advise greatly appreciated as it looks as though I'm going to have to replace this MB at some stage but am not too keen to loose the PATA / SATA support that is missing from newer 775 MBs.

My situation went from bad to worse.
Having run the simplified system for a day without problems, I decided to add in the SATAII  DVD-RW drive & SATA III 2T HD (jumpered to limit file transfer to 3G/s) using the supplied power & data cables.  Switched on, both drives were immediately recognised but the DVD RW drive drawer would not open - light was on but it would not respond (cable was seated correctly on the back of the drive).  Switched off, tried a different cable & it worked fine for a short period of time before the system immediately shut down with no warning.  Switched back on & it blue screened.  Changed over to my trusted PATA boot drive & it also blue screened.
Despair at this point set in & the system was left.
I decided to check each Memory stick in each memory slot using Memtes86 v4.2 with inconsistent results - even Windiag would just freeze, then the system would shut down; checking the processor temp, it was 50degC.
I left the system overnight & repeated the memory test but the system would still shut itself down.  Did a recheck on the CPU temp & it was 87degC climbing to 94degC, then 101degc before shutting down.  Checked the processor heat sink to see how hot it felt & found that it had become dislodged from the MB - that explained the high temperature.  Re-seated the heat sink making sure that it was locked into position.  Started a re-test of the DIMS in each slot to find that slot 3 would pass all 4 DIMMS.  Repeated tests again were inclusive.
Looking at the MB fixings, there were 2 positions where they hadn't been fitted; presumably because I didn't have enough at the time & they were of a special type that pushed into a square cutout in the chassis.  Having built 2 systems recently for friends, I found some spares which I fitted to strengthen the support in the area of the RAM & processor believing that flexing of the MB had been responsible for the cooler becoming dislodged.
I've put all DIMMs back in with 1 SATA II HD & 1 PATA DVD RW and booted the system up which appears quite stable at this point.  I ran the Windows Memory Diagnostics program, rebooted the PC, it did a full 2 pass memory test & reported no errors.  Not quite the same as running memtest86 but I'm going to leave it like this to see how it performs before adding the other bits back in.
Coming back to the cable problem, it was adding a new drive with a previously unused cable that came with the power supply which started all my problems.  I rang these cables out & the only thing that I noticed is that the 0V was swapped over on the 2 SATA power plugs which would mean that the 5V on one would get it's return on the 0V return from 12V and the 12V would get it's return form the 0V on the 5V supply - this needs further investigation before I reconnect things.
I'm not 100% satisfied that I've identified the problem, but the processor cooler clearly was not fitted correctly or it would not have come loose!

  • Windows Blue Screen Error Message Appears As Soon As IPod Connected

Everytime I connect my IPod to my computer, I get the Windows Blue Screen error message. Thought it was the cable, so plugged cable in by itself. No problem. Uninstalled IPod and ITunes software and then plugged in IPod, still got the Blue Screen. The Blue Screen says something about "recent plugged in device problem". It is not the cable, it must be the IPod. Did not have this problem when I bought it. Tried it on labtop and get the same error message. I can't do updater or anything that requires me to plug the IPod into a computer because the Blue Screen appears immediately. When I unplug, the Blue Screen remains and locks up the computer so I have to restart each time. I have tried everything I can think of. Please help.

Hi Mike thank you for replying,
I am not able to start the computer in safe mode, safe mode with networking, last good known configuration etc, Each time it quickly blue screens and restarts about two secs into the process.
I was unable to try a clean OS install from the disk as it gave the blue screen error shown in the original post. The same thing happened when I tried to use the repair option on the XP home disc. So i can't get into the computer at all to start diagnosing the fault, the only clue I have is the error message, and after searching the internet I haven't found much enlightenment from that yet.
If you can help me out or suggest where to search it would be much appreciated.
    Thx

  • Mini DVI to Video: blue screen after disconnect

    Hi,
can't find a solution: after disconnecting the mini dvi to video-adapter I always get a blue screen and I need to restart my brandnew 20" iMac.
I use it to connect my (old) television via s-video. It is clear that I bought the right Mini-DVI-Adapter.
Can anyone help or has the same problem?
    iMac 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Thanks for the help. I'd figured out that shutting it off would keep it from happening and was probably a "best practice," but since 90% of my television watching is from my eyeTV, I'd be turning it on and off a lot.
The only problem with leaving the setup plugged in, is that as soon as the mini DVI cable is plugged in, the resolution on the iMac resets itself to super-large fit for television mode and becomes virtually unusable as a computer, thus when I want to use my computer, the cable has to be unplugged....unless of course you know something I don't
    Thanks,

  • My iPhone would just randomly give me a blue screen and then restart--did that a bunch of times between Tuesday and last night. As of last night, it WILL NOT come back on. iTunes says it's in recovery mode....what does all of this mean???

Tuesday night I was texting a friend and when I went to open her message, my screen went blue and restarted. I just wrote it off as weird and went on about my business. Later that night, I tried to turn on my phone and it would not turn on. I plugged it up, held down the power button, and pressed the home button all numerous times. I looked online and it said to do a "hard reset" by holding down the power and home button at the same time--my phone then came on. Throughout Wednesday, it would give me a blue screen and restart--nothing major just really annoying. I took it to the local Verizon store where I bought the phone from and he said that it was some type of hardware defect and I was still under my year warranty so I could get a new one for free--the free phone won't be here until tomorrow, Saturday. I took it home and it didn't give me any trouble for a couple of hours. The next day it was cooperating and then I left town for a little while and it acted up (blue screen and then restarting) a few times. When I got home, it acted up again and so I restarted the phone and it was working fine. A few minutes later, I tried to check my messages and the phone was off again. No matter what I do, my phone will not come back to life. It had at least 45% battery last time I looked at it. I decided to plug the phone up to my computer and see what it did--my computer recognizes that there is a phone hooked to it and it says that it's in "recovery mode". It also said that if I'm having issues with my phone, that I need to reset the phone via iTunes. I guess the questions that arise are
    1. Why is my phone doing this?
    2. If I reset my phone, will it go back to working again? I ask that because I don't want Verizon to charge me $300 when they send me the replacement phone and I won't need it (assuming that the phone decides to work once it's been reset).
    3. What type of hardware defect is this that is causing this issue, not only with my iPhone 5S but others as well?
    4. Shouldn't people be notifying Apple and letting them know that they need to fix this issue?
    5. Should I report this issue to Apple even though I didn't buy the phone directly from them, but through Verizon?
Any help that anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated! This whole situation has me stressed out and seriously confused.

  • Blue Screen, kernel_data_inpage_error, disk drives missing on reboot

I just bought a new laptop, ASUS ROG G750JW, and installed a Mushkin Chronos 240GB SSD. I clean installed Windows 8.1 Pro on the SSD, and kept the original 750GB HDD, as well as a 500GB HDD, as secondary drives. I have been having rather random blue screens.
I had to disable auto-restart to see the error message: kernel_data_inpage_error.
The fun part is that when I soft restart after the blue screen, my hard drives are missing from the BIOS. I have to completely power down and then restart it for the HDDs to be detected. Since all 3 drives go missing, I can be rather confident that the problem
is not caused by any one of the drives (i.e. my SSD is not defective).
The problem originally occurred when I was installing Office 365 - the laptop would blue screen every time I tried starting the installation. However, each attempt would proceed a little further and eventually Office installed, so I can't use that as a reliable
test. Other occurrences have been, as far as I can tell, completely random. I was noticing that the BSOD occurred often enough during Windows Update installs, but I could not find any significant correlation when I compared my event log to my update
log. I was able to install the most recent Windows 8.1 Update released this Tuesday with no problems.
I have run diagnostics on all of my drives, which come back completely green. I have run chkdsk and sfc /scannow, none of which reported any errors. I have also run Driver Verifier according to the instructions
in this article which did catch several "0x000000c4" bug checks, which I was able to narrow down to the miniport driver.
My last action was to disable checking this driver in Driver Verifier, and I have not since experienced any problems. I have just finished running a 2+ hour long stability test using AIDA64 portable trial version, which caused no problems.
Since my drives go missing when this happens (whether as a cause or effect, I do not know), I have no memory dumps or event logs to share. I have since configured Windows to save memory dumps to my laptop, but with no reliable way to cause the blue screen,
I've been unable to capture a dump yet.
Soooo who wants to help me fix this? I've been offered warranty RMAs by both ASUS and Mushkin, but until I can reliably reproduce the error and confirm the cause, I'm not sending anything back (cause I don't know
    what to send!).

    Jay
If you don't have dmps lets take a look at your event viewer logs
Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:
    Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
    Expand Custom Views
    Click Administrative Events
    Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file to Onedrive or a file sharing service and put a link to it in your next post
If you have updated to win 8.1 and you get the error message "the system cannot find the file specified" it is a known problem.  The
work around is to edit the registry.  If you are not comfortable doing this DONT.  If you are, backup the key before you do
    Press Win+"R" and input regedit
    Navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Channels. Delete "Microsoft-Windows-DxpTaskRingtone/Analytic"

  • Error 13 = Blue Screen of Death?

Thought I'd try this board and see if anyone knows anything about 'error 13' and Panther.
I have been plagued by this error message which pops up whenever I try to print from either of my printers or burn a CD. This all happened after I tried to load a demo version of Adobe Illustrator CS2.
Over the last day I have tried the following:
    * deleted the apple.com.print preferences
    * reset the PRAM
    * unplugged, unpowered and restarted the printers and their USB connections
    * deleted the printers from the print setup utility and tried to reinstall them (but there too I get the 'error 13' message. Printers won't load but they do show up as if they loaded. Just won't work, that's all.
    * tried logging in as a new user, and then the printer message is "Not enough RAM" to print.
    * repaired the disk permissions from the CD
Generally I've done everything I can think of... except to reload the OS, which I hesitate to do because I have to first load Jaguar, then the Panther update, then the other updates. Last time I tried that things didn't quite work out.
I do have an external backup drive, which also got corrupted as I tried loading the Adobe Illustrator CS2 on that disk too. Dumb I know...
So... anyone know what 'error 13' means?
Is 'error 13' the Mac equivalent of the Windows Blue Screen of Death?
    Thanks for any input...

    Hello Pawel,
I have looked over the service request you mentioned about acquiring 2 PCIe-6537 at 20MHz sampling rate on all 32 lines. In order to narrow down this issue, I think it would be best to try only acquire from both cards without doing any triggerring etc. Also when performing this test, I would only want to acquire from 8 channels on both cards to see if this reproduces it. If this works, we can slowly add more elements to narrow down what the issue is and make us more effective to solve the problem.
I also wanted to ask if you have tried this setup on another machine and if it worked.
Along with this, have you tried to create two Digital Tasks in MAX and try to acquire for the same amount of time to see if the issue reoccurs here? This would tell us if this problem is connected to the driver/computer or LabVIEW.

    Hiya
Run a full computer scan with your antivirus software. virus Backdoor.NTHack. may be the problem, and it runs Dl.bat in folder InetPub\Scripts.When you boot up the computer, go to task menager (CTRL+ALT+Delete), look if you have this runned: Firedaemon.exe, Sud.exe, Os2srv.exe,  Mmtask.exe.
    2. If you have a CARD READER than go to bios "Integrated Peripherals" and set Legacy USB storage detect to DISABLED

  • Blue Screen when syncing IPOD

I have been perusing the threads and I am beginning to see some common problems with a few others out there. The Blue screen STOP messages seem to be happneing to others.
I have tried everything including updating windows with the newly released patch today.
Do any of you "experts" out there think that this problem might have to do with the recent windows vulnerability and the long awaited patch released today?
There are lots of news reports out there indicating that this particular windows flaw was very critical and my problems started right about the time the flaw was recognized.
I restored my IPOD as suggested with the 5 R's and now I am bummed because my IPOD is empty and I finally got my PC to recognize the IPOD but everytime I resynch all of my 37 gigs of MP3s to my IPOD, my PC crashes after about 100 MP3s and gives me the Stop message and this error string -
    STOP: 0x0000007E (0x0000005, 0xDF1BA804, 0xF89FB89C, 0xF89FB598)
    Can anyone please help us?
    thanks
    Zep

Not sure I'd care to be called an expert (or even an "expert").
As the discovery of this "flaw" coincided with the onset of your problem I rather doubt it is the cause, since the flaw must have existed before it was discovered. Blue screens are often (but not always) caused by broken drivers or memory problems. If your OS is generally stable, then it does tend to point towards some sort of a driver issue. It seems to me that the 5R's tends to focus attention on the iPod (I guess apple presume that the OS is OK or they just don't want to go there!). Some people might argue that no (normal) device you attach to the comp should cause it to crash, but that is rather academic for you right now. My suspicion is that it is a problem with the comp - well a device driver or memory. Another possibility is that there is more than one problem - and whichever problem happens first triggers the other.
I doubt if the latest Microsoft patches will fix your problem - but who knows! I'd download and run a decent memory test program (e.g. Memtest86) and make sure you eliminate that as a cause. Are you in a position to attempt a restore? That might be worth considering. Otherwise, try doing a complete uninstall of iTunes and the IPod software and starting over. As a last resort you might need to consider re-installing windows.
I guess you've already done all of the obvious comp things (like running chkdsk). Have you, or are you able to test the iPod on a different comp?

  • Blue Screen on Windows 7 Boot

I repartitioned the hard drive on a computer running only Windows 7.  This was done using non Windows utilities that have proven to be very reliable in the past.  The utilities in question are all on the System Rescue CD and include (GParted, and
ntfsclone).  Insofar as it appears to me that the software supplied by Windows will not allow any movement of partitions it is necessary to use other software for this purpose.  There are many articles in this forum which indicate that such software
must be used for such partition management activity.
The affect of the repartitioning is that the primary partition that contains the Windows 7 operating system is now the third one on the drive rather than the second one.  I was able to add an entry in the BCD for the boot manager to use to find the
new partition.  The boot manager seems to work fine.  It appears to me as though the Windows 7 boot loader (WinLoad.exe) does execute and the kernel is loaded.  However, before there is any opportunity to interact with Windows the blue screen
occurs.  On my computer you only see the blue screen error messages momentarily and then the computer reboots.  This amounts to the deadly embrace.  Is there some kind of setting that will allow me to learn what the error message says?
I have tried starting in "safe mode".
I'm pretty confident that the partition was moved correctly.  In that, the new partition is an exact copy of the original.  This technique is something that I've done repeatedly and works very well with Windows XP even though there are registry
updates that are necessary to complete the task.  The difference being that Windows XP does boot satisfactorily which allows this to be done.  What do I need to do to get Windows to boot successfully?

    Hi,
Seems the PC is completely unbootable at this moment, I would suggest you use startup repair or the Last known good configuration under advanced startup options and check if it can bring the PC back to normal.
You can see guide in the link below
