Flex 2-15 hibernation stuck

Brand new (2weeks) unit. Closed last night. This am it was stuck in hibernation. Slow blink on on off button. No light on charge indicator light plugged in or not. Hold power key does nothing. Keyboard keys no effect. Seems stuck in sleep/hibernation. Really frustrated. Help?

Flex 2 Runtime: iviews stuck in 'initializing' phase

Hi everybody,
We just patched customer's EP7 VC in order to remove the nasty 32/64k bug with the new Flex 2 runtime.
However what happens now is:
we have several large models developed in SP12/Flex 1.5, they are being correctly deployed to EP SP14/Flex2, but fail to load.
They all hang indefinitely during the initialization phase of the iview, the progress bar stops at about 80%.
Smaller models work ok.
Please help, this issue is endangering my project.

Battery drained during hibernation, stuck.

My Macbook Unibody (Mid-2010) had its battery drained during hibernation. I plugged it into the charger and the charger light turned on, and the grey start-up page went up as usual with the apple logo and the loading bars underneath. However, the laptop has not finished loading and it's been more than an hour now. I tried closing the lid, and the hibernation light went on, but the apple logo still had its light and it still did not finish loading.
What do I do?
(This macbook is still on Snow Leopard)

How? Flex pass variables or call function in SWF

Dear All:
I am new in Flex.
But I stuck with a problem for weeks.
I wish to communication between Flex and Flash(swf).
I tried to pass variable from Flex to Swf. (Call function in Swf also pass variables)
I did some tourital on google by using SWFLoader, which works fine.
BUT the AS code in SWF must in MAIN FRAME.
I need put my AS code by using DOCUMENT CLASS.
BUT when I using Document class, the method is not working.
The flex cannot find function in Flash.
PS.I already set main.as class as public
Hope some one can give some hint.
I really get a huge headache.

I think that the problem is that the variables defined in the
for loop do not exist in the scope of
the function.
when the MC is clicked, and the onRelease function says:
_root[mcName]._x=0;
the variable "mcName" is empty.

I am tryng to create a Flex Project, but got stuck with an error....
The Error is Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml.
Initially I download jboss-5.1.0.GA and placed it in C folder.
While creating project, I selected J2EE server, selected remote object access service and LiveCycle Data Services...
In the next step, I de-selected the use default location for local LiveCycle Data Services server.
In the root folder - C:\jboss-5.1.0.GA
for Root URL: http://localhost:8700/flex/
Context Root: /flex
when I clicl Validate Configuration.. this is the error I get Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml.
I can't understand what is going wrong here....any ideas....

Run the wizard, select ColdFusion as the server technology, but don't
check the option to use remote object access service. Then, open the
project properties dialog, go to the Flex Compiler page, and add a the
compiler flag: -services
"C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\WEB-INF\flex\services-config.xml" (obviously
changing the path as appropriate). This flag is what gets set by the

Above is a work-around/solution that was successful for me. Below are screen shots of how I initially configured the project, following the above solution.
In the image above, notice how I didn't tick the "Use remote object access service" checkbox.
For the image below, the 'Y:\' value is a mapped network directory to my server (IIS) webroot, which is "\\windowsserver/Inetpub/wwwroot/". Root URL is the name of my server. Fill in the fields with correct values and hit finish.
Then navigate ( Project>Properties>Flex Compiler ) to this project's 'Flex Compiler context menu.
And 'W:\' is another mapped network directory that points obviously to my Coldfusion's WEB-INF\flex.
I hope that this helps. As you may see, I'm hoping that this will help you and others that are likely to come across problem.

Flex app hangs at "Initializing..."

I wrote a flex 3 web application that works on two computers
(one using localhost, another remote host). I'm trying to get it to
work on a third but when I try and load it, before I can even use
the app, when loading it hangs at "Initializing..." and never moves
forward from there.
Anyone have an idea why it would work fine on two computers
but not the third? I thought maybe it was the environment of the
third computer, but yet basic flex applications work fine on it, it
just seems to not want to initialize this particular application.

Flex App Hangs on Streaming FLV Seek

Good afternoon all.
In my current Flex 2 project, I'm switching our video
playback components from using progressive download to streaming
playback via FMS 3. Everything's working great and doing what it
should, but occasionally when I perform a seek on a NetStream, my
whole application freezes until the seek operation is complete.
I was curious if there were places in my code that were
causing the slowdown, so I created a very basic barebones version
of the streaming player (one netconnection, one netstream, one
flash.media.video component, and an HSlider as a timeline) and even
then I was getting the freeze on seek.
Is this behavior common, or should I perform more tests to
see if there's a bottleneck somewhere? If it helps, FMS is
currently being run on a somewhat overtaxed dev box - could that be
causing the freeze as well?

Store into an array the results of a PhpService

Hi all I have a problem with flex and I'm stuck and we need help, this is urgent !!!!!! please
My problem is that I would like to store in an array or ArrayCollection the result of running a php function (in my case "getTestSesion ()") to make any changes on some of the elements that my array will contain, before placing it on my DataGrid.dataProvider (when I say change I mean items such as concatenate something to a specific element)
I leave more and less what I have done.

JSession cookie dropping cause DuplicateSessionDetected exception when use https rather than http

I developing Grails+BlazeDS server and Flex AIR client and stucked with this error: Detected duplicate HTTP-based FlexSessions, generally due to the remote host disabling session cookies. Session cookies must be enabled to manage the client connection correctly
Google searches didn't successfully, as I see some difference in situations. The issue I got only when Flex client interact with server via https.
Flex client:

And again - when used non-secure protocol everything ok - session cookie sevt to server in login operation as expected.

Finnaly resolved it. I meet similar questions in the web, so I hope this solution will be helpfull for somebody.
The cause of DuplicateSessionDetected exception has been a Network Monitor tool of Flash Builder. After switching it off no any exception has been occurred. I think there issues when Monitor acting as proxy when used with secure protocol.

Thinkpad x120e gets stuck hibernating

I recently switched to Arch from opensuse, and mostly it's working great. One issue remains though (had it in suseas well), when i try to suspend to disk the laptop gets stuck. The screen goes black, but the power light keeps blinking, and the fan continues to spin. I' ve tried this from the arch wiki
Suspend works out of the box, but hibernate may fail - the system usually hangs with a black screen and a blinking power button led. To fix this we need to modify the hibernation mode; using pm-utils is just a matter of creaing a file /etc/pm/config.d/hibernate_mode containing a single line:
HIBERNATE_MODE="shutdown"
But that changed nothing. Is there anything else i could try?
Suspend to RAM works just fine BtW.

Not really sure what to check for in the journal. I found this from the time i tried hibernating (with systemctl hibernate, without sudo). But i don't see anything that would help me solve the problem. I hope someone can make something of it.

Laptop stuck in hibernation

Hi, hibernation mode was working fine for my laptop until a some update broke it. When my computer is going to hibernate, it will not go back up. GRUB boots into a black screen with a cursor line on the upper left corner of the screen. I'm stuck. I can't find a way to go into desktop. How do I "clear" the hibernation file and have the system to do hard boot so I can fix things?

T400 Stuck at 800MHz after resume from Hibernation

This evening, my T400's processor speed was stuck at 800MHz after resuming from hibernation. Machine was plugged in. Power manager processor speed settings were not set to lowest performance. Even running processes that put the CPU at 100%, the machine stayed clocked at 800MHz. All drivers, BIOS, etc. are updated to the most recent version.
Eventually, I shut down the machine, and then started it back up. Everything was fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions to prevent this from happening again?

Hello everyone, I observed a new correlation: last time when my touchpad was recognized as "PS/2 ALPS DualPoint TouchPad" (instead of "PS/2 Generic Mouse") happend *after resuming from hibernation*, and also with the concomitant phenomenon of having no sound after resuming. (Sorry for the oversophisticated language, I have just had a philosophy of mind exam ) After this I hibernated the laptop again and resumed, and I *had* sound, but had the touchpad recognized as "PS/2 Generic Mouse", so it seems that I am lucky with the touchpad just when I am unlucky with sound. And, as far as I remember, the earlier occasions when I was lucky with the touchpad were also after resuming from hibernation. So it seems that something else than psmouse sometimes fails to restart after the hibernation, and this is what causes psmouse to work as expected! I am not an expert in kernel, so could someone help me, what to look for? An obvious guess would be sound-related modules, but it would be really weird if they had anything to do with the touchpad, so for now I don't start to learn how sound is handled in Linux (it looks like a lot to learn...)

Flex 2-15 not starting, stuck in limbo

Yesterday after letting my flex 2 sleep after class, I tried starting it again after a few hours and it wouldn't start. The only thing I could see is a blank screen with the backlight and keyboard light on, the fans are also working. I tried searching the forum but couldn't find a solution and cannot remove the battery. I tried holding down power, using the pinhole button, nothing seems to work.
Is there a way to fix it and recover all of my stuff too? I have a lot of important school notes...

So I am guessing that when you connected it to external display, you were able to see the screen?

Stuck on Compiler Error in Flex Builder

Greetings all.
I have my first Flex app calling a Java backend, and the connection works fine. I have a method "getContinents()" in Java, which returns a List of Continent objects. Each Continent object has two variables, "name" and "description". "Name" is a two-letter abbreviation (NA for North America, SA for South America, etc; you get the idea) and "Description" is the spelled-out description (like "North America"). I have an ActionScript class which mimics the Java class.
In Flex, I have a DataGrid which has, as its dataProvider, a Bindable ArrayCollection. When the data comes back into Flex, I put it in the aforementioned Bindable ArrayCollection. That works great. The list of Continents appears in the DataGrid, as expected.
The issue is the DropDownList. I want to see the same thing happen in the DropDownList. I want to see the Description in the DropDownList, and when one is chosen, based on the selection, I want to go back to the server to get the list of Countries in that selected Continent. But I can't get this to happen because I can't get past a compiler error on the DropDownList:
-1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type String to an unrelated type mx.collections:IList.
DropDownList is defined like this:

Data is returned to Flex in this result handler:

When I create a ComboBox instead of a DropDownList, I get the same compiler error. When I change the ComboBox from a Spark ComboBox to an MX ComboBox, I don't get the compiler error, but the ComboBox never has any data in it.
Would anyone be able to tell me what it is that I am doing wrong here?

I would try this:
continentArray = new ArrayCollection(event.result as Array);
And if that does not work then ensure event.result is not just a string.

Flex 2: stuck in sleep/battery led doesn't turn on

Hi Everybody,
My laptop no longer will turn on and was wondering if anyone had this experience in the past.
With all my materials on it, I hesistate to ship it out for 3 weeks.
Please advise.

Hello i've had my Flex 2 14 for just over 2 months, i stopped using it one evening and it went into sleep mode. The next day coming back to turn it on the power light is flashing like its in sleep mode but it won't turn on. Unplugging the charger stops the flashing but when i press the power button again it resumes flashing and won't respond to any of my attempts to turn it on. The battery is sealed inside so i can't remove it and try that method to get it to wake up. i've also done the tried and tested press and hold the button and scrolling on the mousepad but nothing wakes it up. Does anyone know what can cause this problem and if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this issue please let me know. i'd greatly appreciate any and all suggestions. Thank you for your time in advance .
