Flex 2 app won't load after making framework into RSL

Hi,
After reading the Runtime Shared Library chapter of a Flex 3 book, I decided to make the Flex framework an RSL, in a Flex 2 application (Link Type = RSL for all Flex libraries). After it rebuilt, a bunch of SWF files were created, as expected (charts.swf, flex.swf, framework.swf, playerglobal.swf, rpc.swf, and utilities.swf); I placed them, as well as the usual application files (Main.swf, Main.html, etc.), in my usual Web server's directory. Even though the Flex 3 book mentions an SWZ file that I didn't get (gets cached in Flash Player), I figured the SWF files would get cached in the browser.
Unfortunately, when I access the application URL from a browser, I don't get past the usual Flex grey background...
I'd really appreciate if someone could help me figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I noticed two things I didn't expect:
The total size of all SWF files is much larger than the original size of my unique SWF file, when the libraries were merged into the code. Is this because I now get the entire Flex framework, whereas before, I only got the classes that my application uses?
My Flex application files are copied into two distinct server folders, enabling me to start the application with different configurations (basically, each talks to a different Oracle instance - 9i and 10g - for testing purposes. After running one version of the application (the loading of the libraries took much longer than previously, without the RSLs), I expected the second version to load quicker, but it loaded all the libraries, just the same!
Any insight on these two problems is welcome.

Yes, I tried that (thanks for the suggestion, though!). In my music app, when I click on certain songs, the screen moves to try to start the song, but then it bounces back to the menu screen without playing the song. On many albums, when I click on the first song, a song about halfway through the album will start to play rather than that first song. My other apps seems to be fixed, but not the music function.

New hard disk installed, proceeded to do System restore from TimeMachine and everything went perfectly (as far as I can tell) EXCEPT Firefox and Thunderbird. All the other apps are loading and seem to be working as I would expect (I guess I won't know for sure until I've worked for a few days) but Firefox will not load - the icon bounces in the dock for a couple of seconds and then disappears. Out of curiosity, I tired to load Thunderbird (which I seldom use) and not even the icon appears.
I am using OS-X 10.5.7 with Firefox 3.0.11
I have tried deleting the apps and the associated files in Library?Application Support and doing a re-install from a fresh download - same result. I tired restoring the apps from TimeMachine using a restore date one day before the HardDisk failure. Same result. I have used MacTuneUp to repair permission. Same result.
Any ideas why this is happening? I am most surprised that a fresh install didn't help. And it's interesting that two Mozilla apps are affected. I can live without Thunderbird but Firefox is important as there are some websites that still refuse to open with Safari.

probably something in their preferences. the most radical thing would be to delete the whole folders /users/usernmae/library/application support/firefox and /users/username/library/thunderbird. or just move those folders to the desktop. then try starting firefox and thunderbird. however, that will wipe all user info in both apps.

Apps won't load after all the apps got updated, why?

Hi all,
I have recently updated most of my apps on my ipod touch (2nd gen) and realized none of the apps would work, I was wondering what the problem might be?
I went to an apple store and showed it to one of the guy and he said I should just restore my ipod, but that means I will simply restore everything to the factory setting.
I was thinking if it's because my software version is currently on 2.2.1 and I will need to pay $5.99 AUD for an ipod touch software update to v3.1 software for the apps to work?

did you reset the ipod by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up again after the app updates?
Did you check the apps in the store about the system requirements? Some do need 3.0 or above to work correctly. Or see the developers page for more details.

so your starting it up and its just crashing right away, yes? can you tell me what app it acutally is? as iOS6 is so new my thought would be that its probably incompatable with it at this time, im having trouble with my networks app that just will not let me log in at all!
id suggest going to the page of the app on the app store and look to see if it says if its compatable or not? as for a error log its in usage data, which is in settings > general > about, and i think its near the bottom.

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:

If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

You may of had a corrupted install. Connect to iTunes backup then restore. Or update the apps on itunes then sync to the iPhone

Lightroom 5 won't load after 30 day trial of Lightroom3 error.

I tried the 30 day trial of Lightroom 3 that I got with the Photoshop Elements 10 when I got my new computer. The Lightroom loaded one picture and said I had an error and would try to find a solution. I bought Lightroom5 and tried to install it and it keeps going back to the error of Lightroom 3 trial. I tried to delete all programs associated with Lightroom and reinstall, but nothing happens.

New Years day 2014 is a folder and 031 is the picture in the folder that I tried to enhance in the 30 day free trial of Lightroom 3. I bought Lightroom 5 from B &H and it appears to be hung up on the Lightroom 3 trial.

I have an ipod touch 4g. I get a screen that says I don't have a microphone attached and the app won't load. Does anyone else have this problem and a fix please.

The iCall app hasn't been updated in almost a year and a half, so it's quite possible that it's not compatible with iOS 5. Support information on their web site is nonexistent - they just have dummy pages which they've not bothered to update - so that doesn't lead to much confidence - so you may need to email or call them:

Hi everyone, I had this problem but none of the solutions above worked. What happened with me, and with others in other forums, is that a particular thread or message was causing the problem. I'd go to open the message and all I'd get was a white screen with the blue bar at the top. So, I went into contacts, pressed 'send message' to a contact whose message wasn't causing the problem, then I pressed back to messages. You then swipe to the left on the thread that's causing the problem, and delete it. Sadly this means you will lose all that person's messages, but you can try opening it from there and deleting it on the thread. Didn't work for me though. Hope that helps! It was the only thing that worked for me after about three days of total frustration and resetting!

Thanks for the feedback. This is a custom enterprise application. So there is not an update yet. It will take our developer a little time to get it IOS 5 compatiable. So unless I can change the IOS we can't use application until we get upgrade of the custom app.
