Flex 2 Developers in the UK

Flex 2 Developers in the UK
I am looking for Flex 2 developers in the UK.
Firstly, how thin on the ground are they?
Secondly, how experienced in the new Flex 2 are they?
Can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere that I may
find good Flex 2 developers (apart from this forum!!!).
thanks

Yes. The GSM model will for sure (but I don't think the philipines have the CDMA network anyway).

  • Does the new AIR SDK support iOS 64-bit for Flex Developers?

I saw that the new AIR SDK(December 18, 2014) has supported iOS 64-bit, but it was only supported in the new compiler. See this:
Please note that support for creating universal IPA binaries will only be available in the new compiler. The legacy compiler is not (and will not be)
compatible with iOS 64-bit. Because of this, it will be removed with version 16 of the AIR SDK. To ensure that Adobe as well as third party tools
are able to work with this AIR SDK, the -useLegacyAOT option will continue to exist, but will be internally mapped to the new compiler.
AFAIK, the Flex uses the old compiler and AIR SDK for Flex Developers doesn't include ActionScript 2.0 Compiler. As a Flex developer, what shall I do?

    Hi,
I guess, you might be packaging IPA on windows machine.  Please try latest beta at http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air.html which has iOS64 support on Windows machine as well.
    Thanks

Certainly not my intention drkstr_1 and I am sorry you feel this way.  Since this is not a job posting site I was reluctant to put down a lot of detail.  I am just hoping that a few talented Flex Developers that are interested in living in Charlotte, NC (or already live there) would email me so I could connect with them and share the details.  I can assure you that these openings with my clients are outstanding oportunities with great pay, the very best in benefits, some nice perks, and the projects themselves are very interesting and challenging.  Also these are full time opportunities, not contracts.  Again, I am sorry to upset you.  Best of luck to you.

  • Looking for awesome Flex developers

I'm looking for awesome Flex developers who are interested in creating real-time collaborative applications. Deadline is 7 of May.
You may call it a race. The apps created are automatically registered in a public voting system. The most popular app created wins 1000$, and the guy who recommend the winner gets 500$. So if you don't have time or don't like the idea of an application contest, be sure to let your friends know.
This is an actual opportunity for freelancers who are looking to play with new technologies, but often don't find the time or motivation to do it.
    Rules:
                 - register first [free, that's not the point]
                 - use XTWIP collaboration service in your app (much like Adobe LCCS, except that you have full control over the content being shared and that you don't have built-in components)
                 - send your app until 7 of May 2010 [better hurry]
    References:
                 - http://www.xtwip.com/blog/xtwip-contest-terms-and-conditions/
Feel free to ask any question here, on the website, blog, or support email.
P.S. This is a great opportunity for Flex developers to test their adoption skills. Its target is non-commercial, but technology driven. Cheers.

    Hello tedro2,
By submitting your application to this contest, you agree that the intellectual property of your creation goes public, under Apache 2.0 license. After the contest is over, we will publish your application source code, as we are interested to allow the open-source community to learn from these experiences.
Under your approval, we can also publish your application in the XTWIP showcase (by carefully mentioning that you are the creator).
The scope is not to repackage your application into a new product, but mainly to offer other developers the possibility to see more collaborative applications in action, as our belief is that web should be far more collaborative than it is today.
    Thank you for your question,
    Cristian Andreica

  • Flex Use of the Adobe Acrobat Library SDK

    Hello
I have Flex Builder 3 and have been using Director and Flash for ages. Can anybody point me towards any FLEX 3 + AS3 code useage that builds Adobe Acrobat "Academic Library Facilities" e.g. Organiser into a Fully functioning website. I have chased the Adobe Acrobat Library SDK all around the Adobe site and through Google but I am still feeling that I have to work it out for myself.

    [email protected]

I checked with the Acrobat team and this is not something that will be trivial I'm guessing.  There are no real libraries to support you.  The Organizer data is stored in a SQLLite database, which means that if you write an AIR application you could access it, but we don't document the format nor do we guarantee a consistency of format between versions.<br /><br />So I think basically you are going to have to work this out for yourself to meet your own needs, it won't be that generic.<br /><br />Best,<br />Matt<br /><br /><br />On 9/25/08 11:20 AM, "Prof. Laurie THOMAS" <[email protected]> wrote:<br /><br />A new discussion was started by Prof. Laurie THOMAS in<br /><br />Developers --<br />  Flex Use of the Adobe Acrobat Library SDK<br /><br />Hello<br />        I have Flex Builder 3 and have been using Director and Flash for ages.  Can anybody point me towards any FLEX 3 + AS3 code useage that builds Adobe Acrobat "Academic Library Facilities" e.g. Organiser into a Fully functioning website. • ORM in Adobe ColdFusion 9  for  flex developers

    What advantage does the
    ORM in Adobe ColdFusion 9
Have for flex developers as Flash builder 4 does so much of that for us nowadays

What is nice about it is the AIR support, imho, so that you can do object-oriented database management with a SQLite database on the client without having to have a server. The actual ORM swc that comes with CF9 is placed in the Flex library and then no more having to write inordinately complex queries to accomplish simple things; you simply update objects' properties like you would with a typical object in FLEX. In addition, if you're using the ORM framework and want to build an application that allows users to easily update a remote database with data worked on offline, it's built in. As you probably know, there are several ORM frameworks out there already, but this appears to be the one Adobe is going with so it's worth a shot with the hope of long-term support, as opposed to some of the others which are not supported or rather stale.

  • Job market for Flex developers

I know it is slow. What's the demand and pays for Flex developers comparing to .Net and Java developers? Any comments?

The demand for Java and .Net developers is still much greater than Flex.  When the economy is tough businesses go back to safe (Java) rather than the "hot" technology (Flex).  It's a perfect time to be improving your Flex skills though.  When things start bouncing back the demand for Flex developers will grow faster than the supply relative to Java/.Net.
(Just my two cents... and my experience as a Java and Flex developer.)

Our Flex team is just wrapping up our AIR powered flex

Keep in mind we're still in Beta, so if you lose connection,
don't give, just try back in a bit.
Its free with no sign up required

We are now Live on Adobe AIR Marketplace.
Login and network with other Flex developers. We look forward

  • Should multiple developers share the same MDS repository?

We are starting a new customizable application using ADF, WebCenter and SOA Suite 11g wondering what is the best practice for MDS repositories. By default JDeveloper seems to use a file-based repository, however we need to take advantage of a database repository. The question is: Can & should multiple developers share the same MDS repository, or do we need to use the RCU tool to create a new repository for each developer? If developers share the same repository I"m wondering what happens to seed customizations if two developers both edit the same thing (like a SOA composite).
    Thanks for your input

Thanks again ... I'm not so worried about packing the customizations in the EAR or MAR, I just hate developers having to manually change adf-config.xml from source control all the time.
I've tried using {oracle.home} and it does not work. This seems to be a bug in JDeveloper, because I print the env variable and verify that it is correct but the deployment still fails.
    In adf-config.xml I have:
    <property value="*${oracle.home}\integration*"
    name="metadata-path"/>
When WLS starts up, I print the env variable and see it is set to: D:\home\fmw\JDEVEL~1
But then when I try to deploy my application I get this:
INFO: MDSException encountered in parseADFConfigurationMDS-00503: The metadata path "D:\home\fmw\jdeveloper\system11.1.1.1.33.54.07\o.j2ee\drs\PriceManagementPOC\adf\META-INF\D:\home\fmw\JDEVEL~1\integration" does not contain any valid directories.
For some reason it seems to be appending the directory of adf-config to the oracle home directory. It's as if the code assumes its a relative path. Looks like a bug to me.

    Hi,
    thanks for your reply,
I have tried to open using file import, but still it is not
    working.
in the readme file for this application , contains how to
Creating a project in Flex Builder for the Hybrid Store
    application:
    Name your default application catalog.mxml.
Prevent Flex Builder from generating an HTML wrapper: select
Project > Properties. Select the Flex Compiler page, deselect
the Generate HTML wrapper file option .
Create a Run configuration for your project but deselect the
Use defaults option and instead assign the Run setting to the
hybridstore.html in your project's bin directory.
To enable debugging of the Hybrid Store application you must
create a copy of hybridstore.html. Open it in an editor (you can
right-click on the file and select Open With > Text Editor).
Find the line that says "src", "catalog" and change it to "src",
"catalog-debug". Assign the Debug setting to this new HTML file.
As i am new to flex , i could not know how to do this.
please help me how to do this.
    regards

  • So are we to assume that the preview for developers is the WP 8.1 update intended for Lumia Icon users?  Why is it taking so long for this update to be released?!

Of those of you that have tried out the preview for developers on the Lumia Icon, what issues have you seen from it?  Does it in fact void your warranty?

    yleetsbob wrote:
I have largely given up on this device, I think that I made mistake trying out a Windows phone.  I really miss my Android device and feel like I have made a 2 year mistake.
I don't think you should give up on Windows Phone.  I think you should instead give up on Verizon.  Lets say you had an android device, Verizon could do the same thing and hold up an important update that you're waiting for.  AT&T is much quicker to release Windows Phone updates so you may want to try them next time. For example, you can see on this page Availability in North America - Nokia that AT&T has released the update for their top two phones the 1020 and 1520.  The Verizon icon is almost the same as the Lumia 930 which is the international version.  The 930 has been on Windows Phone 8.1 for many months.  Windows Phone 8.1 has lots of new features including the notification center and Cortana.  It's a shame that Verizon is too lazy, too slow or just doesn't care.  I'm probably going to start installing the developer preview soon and you could do the same.  Basically, you sign up for a free developer account.  Then install the developer preview app to get the updates. Google has no such option for android uses so if Verizon were holding back an android update you'd be worse off.  At least Microsoft gives us a stupid carrier work around...  It's annoying but then you can enjoy your Windows Phone with out having to wait for Verizon whom doesn't care.  They haven't even said a word about it which = worst carrier ever in my opinion.
