Flex builder 3 beta installer doesn't work

WE are having trouble installing the windows installer
version of Flex 3 builder. We tried several machines.
We keep getting this screen no matter what we click.
! Please select another location to extract the installer to:
This message comes with two buttons. Choose and Cancel.
If you select choose you can pick a location on your machine.
but selecting anything does nothing, just brings you back to the
original screen above. It does not display any location or any
location selected. The cancel does as it says. So how do I get past
this problem?

This seems like an incomplete download. try downloading again

Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 Debugging not working with latest Flash Player Debug

First to emphasize that never had such issues with Flex
Builder 2 Beta 2 and Flash Player 9.0.47 Debug version.
I downloaded Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 and installed it. Then
trying to debug any Flex app (old or newly created) does not work.
I don’t get any errors, but after some research I saw
it’s nagging up on trying to connect to the Flash Player
debug version.
1. Uninstalled old versions of Flash Player (FP).
2. Downloaded latest debug version of FP 9 (9.0.115) and
installed it both for IE and Opera (Netscape-compatible).
3. Installed Flex Builder 3 Beta 3.
4. Created a simple Flex app.
5. Ran it in debug mode.
6. Showed a small window with title “Progress
Information” and a progress + text: Waiting for Flash Player
to connect to debugger…
7. Two minutes later I got the error: “Failed to
connect; session timed out. Ensure that: 1. You compiled your Flash
application with debugging on. 2. You are running the debugger
version of Flash Player.”
Any idea what is wrong? I tried to download an older debug
version but then FB 3 Beta 3 raises the error it’s expecting
version 9.0.115. I searched to download FB3 Beta 2 (because I
deleted it after downloading Beta 3) but unfortunately Adobe did
their best to wipe it out from their links.
Any help is welcome.

Hi Dimitar,
Did you close all the browsers (and applications which use
Flash Player) when you install Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 or Flash
Player? You can try manually installing it from <FB install
location>/player/ directory. Here're some

Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 Mac OS X Installer Error

I am trying to install Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 on an Intel Mac
running Mac OS X 10.4.11. When I open the installer, the first
screen (which allows you to select languages) works properly. The
second screen, however, does not load properly - I only see a black
background and white text that says "InstallAnywhere by
Macrovision", a thin white line by this, and a grayed-out "N".
There are no buttons or other text on this page.
Does anyone have this same problem? If so, are there any
fixes? I initially had this problem with Mac OS X 10.4.10.
Upgrading to Mac OS X 10.4.11 did not fix the error. A similar
error also occurs when I try to install the demo version of Flex
Builder 2.

Thanks for sending the error log - that provides some good
clues. First of all, I want to ask you about the path listed as
/Users/admin/. Was admin a default user already on your machine, or
did you create and log in as a user named admin?
The installer is failing because it cannot create a folder
under the path /Users/admin/Documents/, whereas usually you should
have full access to that folder if the user named admin has normal
Admin rights.
Here are some suggestions for how you can remedy that:
1) run Apple's Disk Utility, run its Repair Permissions
option, and see if it repairs permissions on that Documents folder
2) manually delete any existing folder named
/Users/admin/Documents/Flex Builder 3/
3) try installing Flex Builder 3 again, after cleaning things
up in steps 1 and 2.
Failing that, try creating a new user on that machine, with
Admin rights, and then see if you can install Flex Builder 3 into
that user account.
Let me know how it goes,

Flex Builder 3 Beta 2 Expires early when using Flex 2 key, and new SDK

I was told to use my Flex 2 key to extend the Beta period for
Flex Builder 3, this worked, today it said I have 99 days left.
but When I installed the latest SDK and restarted Flex
Builder 3 Beta 2, it says it expires in 15 days.
If I put the original SDK back and restart it goes back to 99
days, so If I switch the SDKs while Eclipse is already loaded it
seems to stay at 99 days, so now before I start Eclipse I have to
move the orig SDK back, start Eclipse, then switch SDKs.
This does not make much sense to me, why does the SDK affect
the Builder Beta Period at all? is there a fix for this, I have a
project due but 31st, and I would be screwed if it dies before
then, I already have flex 2 but I cannot roll back as this project
relies on Flex Builder 3 Functionality.

I the probelm we are stating is that we DID enter our flex 2
key and it DID initially set the expire date out, but I needed to
use a later SDK and thats when the problem occured. without the
latest the ImageSnapshot.captureImage does not work at all for me,
so must use a later SDK. However this morning my Eclipse started
stating 96 days remaining and I am still using the latest SDK, so
no idea why it works sometimes and not others.

Adobe Flex Builder 3 beta expiration

I'm currently developing an application for Education
purposes in the UK using Flex Builder 3 beta (Built in Eclipse).
I struggled all the day with Adobe France, Adobe Europe,
Resellers to find a solution : our products will be locked in 5
days because we will be at the end of the demo.
I looked for education licenses for Flex Builder 3 beta, and
it seems that it's not possible for now. They told me to ask there
for a solution.
How can we continue working on Flex Builder 3 beta ?

We're in the same boat here - the the behavour of xsd:all in
BETA 3 renders our Flex app virtually useless because of
communication issues with the backend webservice. We have studied
the proposed workaround suggested, unfortunately we only control
the FLEX app - we do not control the WS we have to integrate with.
As a result we've gone back to BETA 2 to do some critical
changes in the software but the "Beta expired." message we've been
receiving is really not well received. As we have been very
proactive in supporting development in the BETA phases including
reporitng bugs, we think that Adobe shoudl also have some
flexibility here and offer ways to extend the BETA 2. We're not
asking for any type of support during that phase - purely the
ability to compile our source until we can implement the full work
around which will allow the software to run on BETA 3. The
suggestion to change dates or go to previous restore points do not
work well here with our numerous developers.

Installer doesn't work after upgrading to 10.3.3

Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade from 10.2.8 to 10.3.9. I bought the upgrade to 10.3.3 and installed it (with the upgrade feature, not the archive and install) and now when I try to open the .pkg file for the upgrade to 10.3.9, the installer doesn't work. It opens and a window comes up with a large "X" in the background, but the main dialog box is blank, the two buttons on the bottom right corner of the window are blank, and clicking them doesn't do anything. I know it's the installer because the same thing happens when I try to install other programs.
I can't use the software update feature because I can't get my mac to work with my DSL connection - but that's another story.

Yep, that's the problem!
Tiger is available for purchase at The Apple Store (U.S.).
Panther, is no longer available directly from the Apple Online Store, as Tiger 10.4.x is the most up to date OS.
A Full Retail Version, of the Panther Install CDs, or a Full Retail Version, of the Tiger Install DVD, can be purchased rather inexpensively, at some online Apple retailers, Amazon, eBay, AppleRescue, FastMac, etc.
Be sure not to again purchase grey, upgrade or machine specific CDs or DVDs.
Panther is only on CDs, not DVDs.

Once Panther 10.3.x is installed, you can use the 10.3.9 Combo Update, to upgrade to the final version.
If your Mac meets the System Requirements for Tiger, you could also consider installing that.
And then use the PPC 10.4.8 Combo Update.

Tutorial for creating a J2EE project with "Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 " ?

I'm trying to set up a Flex environment with:
Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 stand alone
WTP (from eclipse update manager)
LCDS 2.5 (with JRun)
JBoss 4.2.2GA
At this moment I successful installed everything (but not set up). I added WTP at Flex Builder3 (with the eclipse update manager). I copied the two flex-tomcat files in jboss.
Then in Flex Builder 3 I created a new Flex Project. In the wizard first window, I selected J2EE, Livecycle and WTP. Then in the next window I need to configurate the J2EE server.
I couldn't find any information/tutorial for this window? Is there a tutorial for this?
This window ask me:
Target Runtime: I created a new one for JBoss 4.2.2 (during this process flex builder asked me to add a project but actually I'm creating this project so I hadn't any project to add (??)).
ContextRoot: name of the project I'm creating (default). Is it good?
Content Folder: the default is "WebContent". Is it good?
Flex War File: What is that? Where do I find it?

The settings you mention all sound fine, but the I believe the Flex War file may be what you referred to as the flex-tomcat files (specifically the one should be called flex.war from the install folder).
You don't need to deploy the flex.war file to JBoss manually, when you create a project, you just select the file in the wizard and it is extracted and used as a template for the new project. In fact, it may cause a port conflict with your project if you do deploy manually it (unless you tweak some of the config files), so it's probably worth removing it from the deploy folder if you did put it there. The other file, flex-admin.war, can stay without causing issue.
The closest to a tutorial that I am aware of is if you search "New Flex Project" in the help system, it talks about what each of the options should be when creating LCDS projects.

Flex Builder 3 plugin Installer extract issue

I downloaded Flex Builder 3 plugin for Windows today and
tried to run in. The InstallerAnyWhere has a popup saying "Please
select another location to extract the installer to" but no matter
what location on my file system I select it still keeps asking the
same question. Only option is to cancel the install at this point.
Anybody knows when this will be fixed?

Looks like our company firewall corrupts the download. I got
access toa version somebody downloaded at home and that worked
properly.

Trial and Evaluation for NW ABAP 7.02 SP6 64-bit Installation doesn't work

Hello Colleagues,
the installation of SAP Developer Version under Download SAP NetWeaver Main Releases\SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP 7.02 SP6 64-bit Developer Edition doesn't work.
Different to the requirements I tried to installed on VM Player and with Windows Server 2003.
Only when ABAP Imort reached package 34 (successfully imported) the installation process stopped without any error.
Like frozen.
Please does anybody now the problem? Or is the Installation on Windows 2003 general not possible or at VM Player?

It is possible.
Check VMware options, especially allocated operative memory size.
If there is not enough memory, VMware begins to use swap and productivity becomes very low. As a result, program freezes.

Flex Builder 4.5 Premium license not working for automation - anything else to try?

So I'm getting the message when I try to record/run a test that the "License not present. With the trial verison only limited replays are allowed." I have a valid license key for Flash Builder 4.5 premium edition. I have read many forums on this subject but none of them help me. I compile my project either using Flash Builder 4.5 or an ant script invoking mxmlc. I have modified my flex-config.xml to include "flashbuilder45", and my given serial number with and without dashes (and other combinations). I do not have a license.properties file. I'm not sure what else I can do. I have already reinstalled Flash Builder 4.5. I am now trying Flash Builder 4.6 with the same results. This serial number is a group one good for 5 boxes. My next step is to request a replacement serial number from Adobe, since I can't think of anything else that could be wrong with my setup.

1. It is a premium which I can see when I view "My Products" on this adobe site. I can enable Network monitor and when I do my application hangs (I've read a bit on how to get this working properly, but I don't need it)
2. It is an FB serial number. Here is what it is under My Products:
Serial Number: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
Application or font: Flash Builder Prem
Version: 4.5

However I have read conflicting reports about this. At any rate I do not have a license.properties file, which I assume was discounted after flex builder 3.x.
4. Yes, using FlashBuilder and my ant script. I have also cleaned my browser's cache. The problem persists.

Installer doesn't work for any application

The installer app itself is not working on my mac (Macbook Pro, running Version 10.8.5), and it doesn't work regardless of the software that I'm trying to install.
I get the following error message:
Installer cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure Installer works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X.
Any help/suggestions?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

My J2EE 1.4 SDK installation doesn't work (j2eesdk-1_4_03-windows.exe)

I think that this is a very curious case. The preparation of the installation is completely right (it loads the Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, extract the files). The first screen appears and I click on next, I agree with the software license and click to go next. In the third screen is where the matter happens, I leave the default Installation Directory (C:\Sun\AppServer) and click on next button but the interface is frozen, not more screens are shown, I can move the mouse and even I can execute perfectly the button Browse, and minimize, maximize and close button but the bottom buttons line doesn't work (Back, Next, Cancel, Help), I have left the screen for hours and nothing happens, I only close the interface without installing the sdk.
I try to install j2eesdk-1_4_03-windows.exe on WIndows XP SP3 (before it was SP2 but I changed to test the install but it doesn't work too), I have installed the Java SE Runtime Environment 6 and Java (TM) Update 12, too I have the Java(TM) SE Development Kit 6 and J2ME Wireless Toolkit 2.2, all of them without problems.

Photoshop PlugIn error installation doesn't work !

Download a PlugIn for Adobe Photoshop, in description stand PS CC / CS6 but Plugin doesn't work with CS6 ... error message coming: Photoshop 13,0 or newer need, my actually version is 13.06 but every try the error messager is coming.

When booted from the Tiger DVD, open Disk Utility from one of the menues at the top. Check that your iMac's hard drive is healthy (don't repair permisssions, but repair disk).
Exactly when does the system freeze? Do you get to choose any install options, like archive and install? When upgrading from 10.2.8 to 10.4, you should do an Archive and Install.

ITunes 10.5 beta 3 doesn't work in OS X Lion?

After upgrading to OS X Lion yesterday, I tried to open iTunes 10.5 beta 3. A window popped up saying something about it being incompatible and needing an update. So I "updated" (it actually downgraded to 10.4).
Is there any workaround to get 10.5 beta working on Lion? I can't sync my iPhone (running iOS 5 beta 3) with an older version of iTunes.
I'm actually pretty peeved at Apple for releasing a new OS without checking the compatibility of native apps, beta or no beta.
Any help would be appreciated.

Solved (apparently): After reinstalling, iTunes 10.5 beta 3 appears to work.

Application Installer doesn't work!

My application installer does not work. I get these message: "Pc Suite does not support the connected phone".
I did all of these:
1. Disconnected the phone
2. Uninstalled Nokia PC Suite
3. Uninstalled the Nokia Connectivity Cable driver
4. Deleted the following folders:
C:\Documents and Settings%USERNAME%Application DataPC SuiteConfServer
C:\Documents and Settings%USERNAME%Application DataNokiaContentCopier
C:\Documents and Settings%USERNAME%Application DataNokiaPCSyncSynchData
C:\Documents and Settings%USERNAME%Application DataDatalayer
C:\Documents and Settings%USERNAME%Phone Browser (hidden folders)
5. I switched off the firewall and Re-installed Nokia PC Suite.
It still does not work. How can I ensolve it?
System: Windows XP professional with SP 3
Security: ESET Smart security
Pc Suite: 7.0.9.2
Phone Nokia: 6500 classic
Phone firmware: V 08.30
Connection type: USB with CA-101 cabel

I did all things you said, but it still does not work.
The error message is still the same: "Pc Suite does not support with the connected phone".
If I open the settings and select the 6500c (where you can change the destination of files), I couldn't change the directory of applications because it's folder icon is inactive(grey).
Any other idea how can I fix it?
