Flex Builder 4.6 app runs fine in builder - exported release Air app flashes and dies

I have tried exporting release build on more than one computer.
I have successfully exported release builds of other projects.
if I open the application's .exe file and scroll down I see this kind of stuff:

  • Dreamweaver fails to launch, but other CC apps run fine

I've been subscribed to Creative Cloud for over a year. I'm running 10.9.2 on a MacBook Pro. Just today I tried to launch DW and its icon bounced a handful of times and then disappeared. I uninstalled DW and then re-installed it, but got the same result. Other CC apps run fine (Muse, InDesign, PhotoShop, Audition), so I'm not sure what to try next.
I don't "live" in these apps everyday and may launch soem of them once or twice a month. It's possible I've not launched DW since upgrading to Mavericks two months ago. Does DW have trouble running in 10.9?
I am signed in through the CC Application Manager and everything with my account seems to be fine. Any ideas about what to try next?
    Thanks for any advice!

It was difficult to find specific information about this, especially as it would seem to be a widespread Mavericks problem. I posted here because I initially thought the problem might have to do with Creative Cloud's authentication process.
It turns out that Dreamweaver CC has some Java SE 6 runtime dependencies, but Mavericks comes with Java 7. I'm not sure why this hasn't been remedied by Adobe by now. Apparently some Mavericks users had been prompted by DW upon launch to install Java 6—which could explain why the problem hasn't shown up more on the forums as it was quickly remedied—but my copy never got that far. I did have some trouble tracking down where to download Java 6 for Mac, as it's not on Oracle's site, but found it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
After uninstalling DW (again!) and installing Java 6, I re-installed DW and it opened.
The other suggestions about given had to do with older CS6 apps not working and weren't helpful to my specific problem.
I'm posting this in case any other user has experienced the same problem in the same way.

  • Adobe AIR app running fine on Adobe Flash CC but crashes when published

    Hi,
I am developing an app for Adobe AIR. The app works fine when I compile it on Adobe Flash CC when I run it through the ADL. When I publish the app for Desktop and run it, I get the following error:
VerifyError: Error #1014: Class flash.filesystem::File could not be found.
This is strange, because it seems that actually, when I run the app outside Adobe Flash, the app is run through Flash Player.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Is the Intel your only graphics adapter, or are you running an ATI or nVidia card as well?

@I run a Windows 8.1 -  Photoshop CS5 under Parallels on an iMac one year old and both having the latest OS. I use a NIK plugin "VIVEZA" which run fine for years without a problem. Latelt and without a reason, the NIK plugin has gone corrupt, (can not use it more the 2 corrections after a get a black background message that there is not enough memory) and the system stops running and a must restart is required. How do I fix this terrible problem?
If it requires a Photoshop CS5 re-install, (I belief that it may fix the problem) and re-install the two third party plugins (NIK Viveza) and (Onone Perfect Resize) how and where do I get to the proper Adobe upload page to do that.
    I have tried to fix this problem by changing the memory allocations, I have spend many hours on it and are very disgusted with it but it needs to be fixed. The current memory settings are;
    Ram available = 1588 MB
    Range = 873 -1143 MB
Recommended Photoshop usage range =  857  however I have tried every setting to max and in between. Nothing works. Current setting = 1588 (max)
The Photoshop I use is registered, I have product # and order # .

Contact NIK for updated/upgraded versions of their plug-ins.  They have been having a lot of issues with their plug-ins.

  • App runs fine in simulator but fails on iPad

My app has been running fine in the simulator environment but tried running for the first time on an iPad.  It loads the first screen (which is a table view) but if I try to do anything, including just scrolling the table, it crashes.  The Xcode organiser shows the following:

If I look in the crash logs in organiser all I can see is one from Safari dated weeks ago.  How do I find the log referred to in the message above?
The app (TKD) is 16MB and the iPad reports 26GB available, so although there appears to be a reference to LowMemory, surely that isn't actually the problem?   Am I doing something which is impacting FaceTime and why is there a message about com.apple.mobilephone on an iPad?  Am I doing something horribly wrong?
    Any help much appreciated!

'killed' typically means the app was unresponsive just long enough for the OS to take action.
You should be able to see something in Xcode's console during debugging on the device.

  • Upload files from my app works fine in JDev but NOT on app server???

    i guys,
I'm using jdeve 10.1.2. and adf bc's. So here's my problem:
In my application i need to allow for the upload of files from user's computers. This works perfectly fine from jdeveloper but when i deploy my application on the application server i get the following error:
JBO-26041: Failed to post data to database during "Insert": SQL Statement "D:\TrademarkTestData\TrademarkunitTestData.xls (The system cannot find the path specified)".
D:\TrademarkTestData\TrademarkunitTestData.xls (The system cannot find the path specified)
For some reason the system cannot find the path. This is most frustrating as it works perfectly fine when run from jdeveloper.
Any ideas would be most welcome.
    Thanks in advance,
    Newbe

    Hi Frank,
Thanks for the response. I've consulted with our server guy and he says that there are no read/write privileges. Jdev is not on the server.
I'm really stumped by this so if you have any ideas, I'd really appreciate it.
    Happr New Year to you,
    Newbe.

  • Invoking other apps with the custom URL schemes from AIR apps ?

    Hi ,
I want to start(invoke) any non-air application from my Flex application build for ipad . Is there any way(example) for doing such a thing?
I have defined schema in non air (native)ipad application.
And I am trying to call  from flex  application as ,
    navigateToURL( new URLRequest("mBoard://"));
Where mBoard:// is url for other app which is native app.
Could you share an example of what he has done or refer me to them if it’s possible?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Madhu

Yes, you need to put several entries into info.plist. Search for "CFBundleURLTypes" in the iPhone OS Programming Guide.

  • 10/14/2014 - Release - AIR 15 Runtime and SDK - build no. confusion

the latest release build of AIR15.0  10/14/2014 appears to be exactly the same build as the one released on  10/02/2014
both downloads give AIR 15.0.0.302 ---  is this an error .... ?
its all getting very confusing ...
was expecting a new build number for the latest release 10/14/ , updated docs etc ?

Sometimes the release version has a later build number than the last beta we received, which in a way can be even worse than if the build is the same. The thing that has caused some confusion is that a few posts here have been answered with "we've fixed that and it will be in the next build", and the next build turned out to be the same as the previous build.
So, I think the truth is that those things are fixed in the next build that appears on labs, and the release one doesn't count as a new beta build. I don't know when the next labs build will be.

  • AIR app not running on Citrix

We have delivered an AIR app to a client, and they are trying to run it on a Citrix XenApp terminal server.  Part of the app makes use of the AIR browser and sessions.  When the Citrix user is of sufficient privilidge (windows user), the app runs fine.  When they attempt run the AIR app as an anonymous citrix user, it fails.  The user cannot login to a page (presented inside the AIR browser).  Any ideas?
This discussion (http://forums.adobe.com/message/208488#208488) says that the AIR browser stores cookies and cache in the "Temporary Internet Files" directory, like IE does.  Is this true?  If the Citrix user did not have permission to write to that directory, could that cause problems?  Does the AIR browser need to be able to write anything to the file system?  Will the AIR browser try to store session cookies on the filesystem, or do they just stay in memory?  I have to assume that this Citirx guest user has no file system priviledges, so we may need to loosen that to get the app to work.  Any pointers would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bryan

Did you test in the Simulator for 2.1?
I tested it in the Simulator for 2.1 and it works fine.
HOWEVER - my app doesn't work in in 2.1 for various people either. (Two emailed reports, which means probably a lot more are getting hit by this and not emailing)
And I really don't use any undocumented APIs. I do set a transform on a view, however.
My guess is they fixed a bug to do with transforms and views, which broke my App in 2.1. Sadly, this fix doesn't seem to be on the Simulator.
So I can't verify unless I update my iPod Touch to 2.1 .. which I can't do because iTunes says my version is apparently up to date for 2.0.
Crazy. Gotta find a way to get 2.1 on my iPod touch. Any suggestions?

  • How to run Adobe Air App as Windows Service

I am working on Adobe Air application. Everything about coding and configuration have been good so far but I have some major road blocks down the road:
    1. Schedule my application to run at certain time.
    2. Run the application in the System Tray like a Daemon app
Does Adobe support for configuring the application to run in System Tray like a Gmail notifier app now? If it does, is it possible for me to have it configure for both Windows and Mac systems?
If anyone has any pointers or tips, please feel free to let me know. Thanks in advance.

Last night I got some time to try out your example from "Working with the dock and the system tray"
It is really impressive to see how easy you can animate the icon on the taskbar, but it doesn't particularly achieve my goal to have a cross-platform taskbar app running.
I tried to work with Java yesterday and got their Taskbar module working on both platforms. It solves the basic issue. But then I realize Java is missing the Webkits Adobe Air is offering. So I need two Apps in order to achieve the goal to re-use my web app on the desktop. Now I am considering to learn more about the extend feature you mentioned to let the Java application works like a remote control for the Air application's instances.
So here are some of my current concerns: is it possible to be able to have input from java app into air application's elements? Does Adobe's intergrated runtime support incorporating Java as part of the app like it does with SWF and javascript? Or is there any bridge I can use to have the two applications communicate with one another?
