Flex Builder License Issues
The flex builder serial number that I have works when I
install it as standalone but doesnt work when I add it as a plugin
to my existing Eclipse Installation.
Anyone have any information or knowledge that can help me?
Thanks
Prem
You mean you can't use your FB2 anymore, or your FB2 license
does not work with Flex 3 beta? I think you can point Flex 3 toward
the Flex 2 or 3 SDKs, so maybe a setup issue?

I apologize in advance for my cynicism, but since I received
cricket sounds from Adobe Support I figured I would give this a go.
I downloaded and installed the trial version of Flex Builder 3, but
when trying to click on any of the links in the start page
(tutorials, etc..) it displays the following error: Windows - No
Disk
Then it requires me to kill both the FlexBuilder.exe and the
associated javaw.exe using task manager to get rid of the error. I
found a similar issue in the knowledge base, but it was for people
who installed from a DVD on Vista.
I installed to the default location on XP SP2, with all the
latest patches. I've un-installed/reinstalled like the knowledge
base entry states as the solution, but to no avail.
If anyone can provide insight or a solution, I would
appreciate it!
Thanks in advance,
RobI am not sure if this would work but worth a try.
1. Try to launch your flex builder with -clean. (Using
Command line)
Go to Program Files-> Adobe->Flex Builder 3
Run Flexbuilder.exe -clean
Also if it doesn't work try reinstall but after uninstalling
make sure Program Files-> Adobe->Flex Builder 3 is empty.

Flex Builder 3.0 Licence purchase request
We have installed flex builder 3.0 (trail version) as part of the FLEX development and design mode working fine. The problem is not able to buy license for this specific version 3.0. When clicks on Purchase button under Manage Flex Builder License thows the error page "Sorry, this page is not available". Please advise if there is any other option to buy flex builder 3.0 license.
The reason that we are going to flex builder 3.0 is due to design mode works only fine in this version. We have installed Flex Builder 4.5 and above versions , design mode not working properly which is really big challenge to deal with Flex code. Please advise us to fix the design issue with flex builder 4.5+ versions.Adobe Newsbot hopes that the following resources helps you.

Hello!
I want to buy one license for the Flex Builder 3 Professional but as far as I can see, Adobe's store doesn't offer it anymore.
Further more, I understand that the price is approximately US$ 600.
Searching the web I've found this reseller:
http://www.azrul.com/files/buy/business/buy-adobe-flex-builder-3-pro.html
It says:
Retail Price: $669.95
Our Price: $79.95
You Save: $590
ZIP Archive - 438Mb
Could it really be so? US$ 80?
Also, concerning upgrades, if I buy the Flex 3 version from the above website, will I be able to upgrade to the Flex Builder 4 Pro edition in a discounted price (approx. US$ 200 at Adobe's store) later without any issues?
Thank you!

This website also offers it for the same price: http://softprimestore.com/item/226/adobe-flex-builder-professional-3.htmumxprime wrote:

Not sure that kind of stuff is typically allowed (technically) legally.

or authorize any portion of the Software to be copied onto or accessed from another individual’s or entity’s

Out of a Flex Builder license agreement (didn't say which version). Not sure if there's another section that I missed saying this particular type of 'transfer' is allowed. -
Hi ,
We are using Flex SDK 3.5 and using eclipse to build the war in order to make it automation compatible , Right now we tried with Premium version of Flex Builder 4.5 eclipse plugging to build and make application automation capable. But we are facing issues in terms of license , After deploying the automation compatible build we are getting error message "License not present. With the trial version only limited replays are allowed".
Previously we are using Flex Builder 4.0 and everything was working fine .
Is Flex Builder 4.5 doesn't support SDK 3.5 ?
Please help .
Thanks in advance
Thanks and Regards

Flex Builder 4.5 Premium license not working for automation - anything else to try?
So I'm getting the message when I try to record/run a test that the "License not present. With the trial verison only limited replays are allowed." I have a valid license key for Flash Builder 4.5 premium edition. I have read many forums on this subject but none of them help me. I compile my project either using Flash Builder 4.5 or an ant script invoking mxmlc. I have modified my flex-config.xml to include "flashbuilder45", and my given serial number with and without dashes (and other combinations). I do not have a license.properties file. I'm not sure what else I can do. I have already reinstalled Flash Builder 4.5. I am now trying Flash Builder 4.6 with the same results. This serial number is a group one good for 5 boxes. My next step is to request a replacement serial number from Adobe, since I can't think of anything else that could be wrong with my setup.
1. It is a premium which I can see when I view "My Products" on this adobe site. I can enable Network monitor and when I do my application hangs (I've read a bit on how to get this working properly, but I don't need it)
2. It is an FB serial number. Here is what it is under My Products:
Serial Number: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
Application or font: Flash Builder Prem
Version: 4.5
Platform: Multiple Platforms
Date: June 7, 2011
3. Yes I have. I have uncommented
<licenses>
<license>
<product>product</product>
<serial-number>serial-num</serial-number>
</license>
</licenses>
which sits one level down within <flex-config/>
Under product I have tried "flashbuilder45", "flashbuilder4", "flashbuilder46", and even "flexbuilderXX" a few times. Under my serial number I have entered the serial number as shown in My Products - I have tried tried it with dashes, and without.
I found this post
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6993096/how-to-properly-define-the-flashbuilder-4-5-pre mium-license-for-a-maven-flexmojo
which says "the serial-number element is NOT the license number that we got from Adobe (and that we use when installing the Flash Builder tooling) but it is a derived form of that license number that can be found for example in the license.properties file of a developer that has Flash Builder installed". However I have read conflicting reports about this. At any rate I do not have a license.properties file, which I assume was discounted after flex builder 3.x.
4. Yes, using FlashBuilder and my ant script. I have also cleaned my browser's cache. The problem persists. -

License migration from Flex Builder 3 to Flex Builder 4
I am ready to purchase a license for Flex Builder but am hesitant to do so. It appears that Flex Builder 3 is available now with Flex Builder 4 coming within some time period. If I buy a Flex Builder 3 license now will I be entitled to Flex Builder 4? If not, should I wait for FB 4 to become available? What is the anticipated ship date of that product?
NeilFrom our FAQ
Q: If I purchase Flex Builder 3, am I eligible for an upgrade to Flash Builder 4?
A: Adobe has not yet announced the ship date of Flash Builder 4. To be eligible for a free of charge upgrade to Flash Builder 4, you will need to purchase maintenance along with your purchase of Flex Builder. You can purchase maintenance with your Flex Builder 3 Standard purchase for an additional $99 US which makes you eligible for a free-of-charge copy of Flash Builder 4 Standard edition when it ships. You can purchase maintenance with your Flex Builder 3 Pro purchase for an additional $299 US. To purchase maintenance, you will need to buy through an Adobe reseller. The Airport built-in to the iMac is exactly the same standard as that used in PC's 802.11b/g compatible and possibly 802.11n as well depending on the model. It means that anywhere you use can use a PC for wireless you should be able to use the iMac. It sounds as though your wireless network is protected with a WEP Key or similar encryption method and you have not entered the correct key into the iMac when attempting to join the wireless network or have not selected the appropriate key type from the drop down list. Quite a common situation is that if your password for your wireless network is a hex key, i.e only contains the numbers 0-9 and letters A-F then you need to select WEP Hex Key as the password type when joining the wireless network not WEP Password.

Does the Lifecycle product license include the use of Flex Builder Pro and Flex SDK?
I have been trying to find out whether we can use the latest Flex Builder and SDK using the LiveCycle license or do we need to purchase additional license? We will use these products to develop Flash Applications to use with our Livecycle product.

Buy License Adobe Flex Builder 2
In our company we are working on a project with Adobe Flex Builder 2, and we need to buy a license for Flex Builder 2. Our supplier reply us that Adobe sells only the latest versions (Flash Builder 4.5), but for our project we need the version 2 Adobe Flex. We have seen that Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 enables working in Flex 3 and 4 way, but not 2 which is what we need. I have not found a way to buy a license for version 2 of Adobe Flex Builder, how can we buy ??
Thank you very much for your helpUsing multiple SDKs in Flash Builder 4
Flash Builder lets you change the version of the SDK that you use to compile your projects. You can select the SDK when you first create a project or at any time you are working on a project.
Using a different SDK can be useful if you are given a project that was developed using Flex Builder 2.0.1 (which uses the Flex 2.0.1 SDK), but you are running Flash Builder 4 (which uses the Flex 4 SDK by default). By selecting an older SDK to build with, you can maintain projects that have not been updated to be compatible with the latest version of the SDK. In addition, if you are currently working on a project for the Flex 2.0.1 SDK, but want to use the Flash Builder 4 features such as code refactoring, you can upgrade your edition of Flash Builder, but then select the older SDK as the default SDK -
Can I use my Flex Builder 3 Pro license with the Flash Builder 4 Install?
I have a Flex Builder 3 Pro license, which does all right for me (I have no business need to pay for the upgrade).
The problem is that I can no longer find a downloadable version of the Eclipse plug-in for FB3 anywhere on Adobe's site.
Does anyone know what my options are?
Is there a direct URL to a site where I can download FB3?
Or can I install FB4 and use my FB3 license?
Help is much appreciated.Hi,
Thanks for pointing that out.
You can find most of the old and new FB installers here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/flex/downloads_updaters.html
As you probably noticed though, only the FB3 Update installers are posted there, and not the full installers. I checked around, and that was probably an accidental side-effect of changing the Trial Download link from FB3 to FB4 on that page.
We put the gears in motion for getting the full FB3 installers posted there too.

P.S. Your FB3 license won't work with FB4, but can be used to upgrade at a discount when the time comes that you're ready for that. -

How do I get Adobe support? I have a licensed Flex Builder.
I have a license copy of Flex Builder 2. It's failing in it's
core function. To compile swf files.
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=60&catid=582&threadid =1248215&enterthread=y
I have to clean EVERY SINGLE TIME I compile. No response for
2 days.
How do I get support from Adobe? I paid the $500 for a
licensed copy.Here is a brand new flex project I just created:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="
http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
layout="absolute" creationComplete="initApplication()">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
import mx.controls.Button;
import mx.core.UIComponent;
import mx.controls.Alert;
import mx.utils.URLUtil;
public function initApplication():void {
var a:UIComponent = UIComponent(Application.application);
var b:Button = new Button();
b.label='hello2222';
Alert.show('hello wtf??');
a.addChild(b);
]]>
</mx:Script>
</mx:Application>
When I first ran it, all I got in the browser was the blue
background. In other words, it didn't even compile on the first
try. I had to "make clean" on a project that's never been compiled
before, in order to get it to compile.
Then I tried changing "hello" to "hello wtf" and recompiled.
Still said "hello". Until I ran make clean again.
Then I tried intentionally adding a syntax error and saving
the file, and the Problems window didn't even show it! I added
'eee' after the Alert.show line and saved the file. Only when I
make clean does it even tell me I have syntax errors.
What other technologies? Windows XP SP2. (Wish I could run
ubuntu but adobe doesn't make linux programs.) Um... P4 2.8, a
seagate hard drive. What else can I tell you? -

Anyway, with Flex Builder, I created an MXML Application. I

that under the project menu, I could export a release build in what
