ADVANCED FLEX DEVELOPMENT:
- Must have experience in front-end development skills in Flash/Flex, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, XSLT
- Create custom components in MXML and Object Oriented Actionscript
- Extensive experience in dataset management consumed in AdvanceDataGrid
- Develop Flex Layout, Navigation, Drag/Drop Targets, and CSS
- Extensive experience with RemoteObject and HTTPService to retrieve and update data
- Hands on experience with Grouping Collections
- Hands on experience with Formatters and Validators
- Be able to show hands on experience in writing Actionscript functions for event, response, and fault handling.
- Display experience in developing Flex modules/libraries. Java Development (MUST BE STRONG FLEX Developers, *Java is 2nd tier requirement)
- Strong Java/J2EE background using JSP, Servlets, Beans, EJBs, J2EE, XML, XML Schema
- Experience of designing and implementing object-oriented solutions utilizing recognized design and architecture patterns

Help needed asap! Will my IPAD 3G wifi work in another country with the sim of a 3G services provider?

Help needed asap! I want to buy an IPAD 3G + Wifi before I return to my country from the US. The problem is that I have GSM service providers in my country that provide 3G services but I am wondering if their SIM card would work in the IPAD? In other words, can I get an unlocked IPAD 3G wifi? Thanks for helping out

The AT&T 3G iPads (which are GSM/sim based) in the US are not locked (the Verizon models are CDMA based so they effectively are). So as long as you can get a sim in your own country you shouldn't have a problem

Does the new AIR SDK support iOS 64-bit for Flex Developers?

I saw that the new AIR SDK(December 18, 2014) has supported iOS 64-bit, but it was only supported in the new compiler. See this:
Please note that support for creating universal IPA binaries will only be available in the new compiler. The legacy compiler is not (and will not be)
compatible with iOS 64-bit. Because of this, it will be removed with version 16 of the AIR SDK. To ensure that Adobe as well as third party tools
are able to work with this AIR SDK, the -useLegacyAOT option will continue to exist, but will be internally mapped to the new compiler.
AFAIK, the Flex uses the old compiler and AIR SDK for Flex Developers doesn't include ActionScript 2.0 Compiler. As a Flex developer, what shall I do?

I guess, you might be packaging IPA on windows machine. Please try latest beta at http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air.html which has iOS64 support on Windows machine as well.

Solution is very simple, just uncheck the "Group items by category" to display last version of Tour de Flex feauture which is default checked
and if you uncheck the "Show only the latest versions.." you will see all other versions.

Also, you store a number in my_val, but never use that number, and you have a variable called tasktotal that's never defined. Should my_val and tasktotal be the same variable?

ORM in Adobe ColdFusion 9 for flex developers

What advantage does the
ORM in Adobe ColdFusion 9
Have for flex developers as Flash builder 4 does so much of that for us nowadays

What is nice about it is the AIR support, imho, so that you can do object-oriented database management with a SQLite database on the client without having to have a server. The actual ORM swc that comes with CF9 is placed in the Flex library and then no more having to write inordinately complex queries to accomplish simple things; you simply update objects' properties like you would with a typical object in FLEX. In addition, if you're using the ORM framework and want to build an application that allows users to easily update a remote database with data worked on offline, it's built in. As you probably know, there are several ORM frameworks out there already, but this appears to be the one Adobe is going with so it's worth a shot with the hope of long-term support, as opposed to some of the others which are not supported or rather stale.

Job market for Flex developers

I know it is slow. What's the demand and pays for Flex developers comparing to .Net and Java developers? Any comments?

The demand for Java and .Net developers is still much greater than Flex. When the economy is tough businesses go back to safe (Java) rather than the "hot" technology (Flex). It's a perfect time to be improving your Flex skills though. When things start bouncing back the demand for Flex developers will grow faster than the supply relative to Java/.Net.
(Just my two cents... and my experience as a Java and Flex developer.)
