Flex in Webdynpro

Hai All,
I want to implement FLEX in WENDYNPRO ABAP for that i want these files                                        ( FLASHISLANDLIBIMP1.SWF, WDISLANDLIBRARY.SWC).I dont have those files in my server.
Can anybody tell me how to configer the files.
Regards,
Arun

You must have the older version of the trial versions available on SDN.  The newer version is a later SP level and contains the SWC and Flex 3.0 files as well. Updated versions of the files are available as part of the corrections in OSS note 1307389. You can also download just the Flex 2 SWCs that were missing from the early Sneak Preview here: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/30bf8904-04a8-2b10-ca90-fc17f7a73355

  • Integrating flex with webdynpro java

    hi,
iam new bie in webdynpro java.please tell is there possibility of integrating flex in webdynpro java,if so what are the prerequisites for it.

    Hi
This is possible through Adobe Flash Islands under Mimes folder in your Webdynpro project. You create flex objects in FlexBuilder and generate the .swf files. Then the swf files need to be placed under the Mimes folder of Webdynpro Project from which they can be accessed.

  • Flex with WebDynPro

    hi all.
can anyone tell me ..if we can use Flex with WebDynPro.....?
can we develop flex in NWDS....?
    Regards,
    Sudheer

Well you can use Flex inside plain HTML pages.  It isn't really much different when using them inside JSP.  I'm really just talking about embedding and hosting the flash player.  If you want greater interactivity between the Flex portions and the JSP I suggest that you search on the internet for FABridge (Flex Ajax Bridge).  This allows you to use JavaScript to interactive with the flex component.  I've used this technology within BSP quite a bit:
    [/people/thomas.jung/blog/2007/11/14/an-introduction-to-flob-flex-on-bsp|/people/thomas.jung/blog/2007/11/14/an-introduction-to-flob-flex-on-bsp]
Since BSP and JSP are so similar, the same concepts could easily be applied in JSP.
As to the Web Dynpro Islands - the development of the first version is complete and will start to ship in a controlled rollout with Web Dynpro ABAP in NetWeaver Enhancement Package 1 (Q3 2008). I believe that at first we plan to only have SAP delivered components, but will eventually open it up so that anyone can create components that run within the Islands.

  • Flex with webdynpro for java using Flex Island

    Hi Friends,
I am on Netweaver/SAP Enterprise Portal 7.0 SPstack12, I am developing UI for BI reports using VC, I am interested in developing UI using flex and want to integrate those apps with EP, I came to know flux Island supports flux with webdynpro java,  basically I am a webdynpro for java developer, I want to develop flux applications with webdynpro for java in NWDS. And i want to know how to use Flex Island with webdynpro for java. So could u please post some useful links.
    Thank in advance

    Hi
If you want to try out using ADOBE Flash Islands with WDJ, you would need to download SAP CE 7.1 EhP1 trial version, if not done so already.
The following link may help you in building the WDJ component with Flash Islands..
The specified item was not found.
If you donot want to develop the Flex project you can download the .swf file provided by the SAP mentors:

  • Flex rendering & WebDynpro

    Hi there,
last week, at the Munich TechEd, <i>Flex rendering</i> was presented - well, actually those guys won the 2nd price in the Demo Jam - congrats!!!
Just a question: it was stated, that some parts are already available in the current (SP01) preview version of CE7.1. How could I actually use it?
    Thanks and best regards
    Herwig

The parts that are available are used in Visual Composer. Create a Visual Composer model and compile it with the WebDynpro + Flex option.  This will generate a Web Dynpro Component but it will run within the Flex Rendering Output.

The link you posted is for NetWeaver CE 7.11.  This will give you the Flash Islands capabilities for Web Dynpro Java, but doesn't contain any ABAP functionality at all.
Since you posted this question in the Web Dynpro ABAP forum, I assume that you want the ABAP Flavor.  For that you need to download the NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial version:

  • How to access internal table data from webdynpro to Flex application.

    Hi Connoisseur
The data transfer from Abap WebDeypro to flex island works well. I followed , there is an example from Thomas Jung (by the way as always Great Work) and  Karthikeyan Venkatesan (Infosys) but this example covers simple type only.
There is no example with complex types like arrayCollection which handle the transfer of data from flex to WebDynpro.
i tried to do pass internal table value  to flex-datagrid.but its not work.
    i would like to know
1.how to access internal table data from webdynpro to Flex application.
2.how to pass the internal table to flex-datagrid.
2.how to pass dynamically in ADOBE flex.
    3. how to do Flex is receiving the wd context data?
    4. how can we update WD context with FLEX data.
Ple give me sample example and step by step procedure.

  • Integration of Adobe Flex 3.0 with Webdynpro ABAP

    Dear Experts,
This is the first time I am trying to work with Flex and trying to integrate with Webdynpro ABAP.
What I have done is made a 'Starter' project in Flex where I have just embedded an image , downloaded
    1. WDIslandsLibrary30.swc
    2. WDIslandsLibrary30-debug.swc
included them in the flex project and did Export Release Build.
What I want to do through this project is just to display the image and no data exchange is happening here between Flex and webdynpro.
Next I have made a webdynro project , included the Flash Island and imported the mime object.
When I activate my object and run the application I dont see the image , i can only see a blank window.
Please guide me where I am going wrong.
    Regards,
    Mamai.

    Hi Banarji
    Ple try this.
    In Flex Part
            [Bindable]
            [Embed(source=".jpg")]
           <mx:Image x="" y=" " width=" " id="loader1" autoLoad="true" source=".JPG" height=" "/>
    Webdynpro Part
Goto MIME - > add .swf file
    I hope.It will work fine.

Well since the NetWeaver Developer Studio is Ecplise based and the Flex Builder installs into Ecplise - the integration is pretty much already there.  I run Flex Builder within the NetWeaver Developer Studio and it installed there without any tinkering.
    >how could i adapt the flex ui in a webdynpro application
Well in Web Dynpro ABAP 7.0 EnhP1 and Web Dynpro Java in NetWeaver CE 7.1 EnhP1 we have a new technology called Adobe Flash Islands for Web Dynpro.  It allows you to seemlessly integrate Flex components into Web Dynpro - allowing data binding into and out of the Flex component as well as throwing of events between the two technologies.  From the Web Dynpro side of the development, the Flex component looks like any standard WD UI element.
    >how could deploy the flex application to EP
It really depends upon how you do the integration.  If you use the Flash Islands for Web Dynpro then the complied SWF file is included in the MIME folder of the Web Dynpro application and deployed alongside of it.

  • Charts creation with Webdynpro for Java

    Hello everyone,
I am really new to SAP technologies and I have to create charts showing statistics for an application based on CE 7.1 and Webdynpro for Java.
I would like to have some inputs about the best way to achieve this, I saw it exists a business graphics UI and flash islands to use flex with webdynpro.
    Thank you for your opinions

  • Web Dynpro and Abobe Flex

    Hi Folks,
I've seen a couple of responses to questions about the mixing of Web Dynpro and Adobe Flex technologies...
This thread mentions a "Flex Client" which is reportedly able to render existing Web Dynpro apps in Flex: WebDynPro ABAP in adobe flex client
This thread mentions a technology called "Web Dynpro Islands" which is apparently Flex components within Web Dynpro apps: Flex with WebDynPro
These concepts seem very different to me - the first being a run-time solution to Flex rendering and the second, design-time. In my opinion, the Flex Client sounds like a more flexible (excuse the pun) solution as it allows the designer to concentrate on application functionality and leaves the visual styling to the GUI. Following on from this thought, the Flex Client gives an added benefit in that, if the person executing the app wants to view it in the current WD style as opposed to Flex, they have this option by choosing a different rendering tool/user interface... and the underlying WD app remains untouched!
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
On a potentially negative side of the Flex Client technology, is the this client yet another GUI tool that needs to be rolled-out and maintained on users' PCs or will it simply be a plugin that can be downloaded on-the-fly and used in a web browser (in a similar way to an ActiveX control)?
I hope this stimulates some interesting discussions...
    Cheers
    Glen

Thanks Thomas! I was hoping you'd be around to shed some light on this...
You're explanation of the use of Web Dynpro Islands was very useful - I was assuming that any UI elements created for Flex designer could also be created as a Web Dynpro component for the Web Dynpro designer (ABAP or Java) but you make a good point that they have different capabilities.
I think, my biggest concern was that the visual style of the WD Island/Flex component would be so different to the the rest of the WD app that it would stick out like a sore thumb but if you use the Flex Client to render it, as you suggested, then every UI element in the app should look and behave consistently... another assumption...
This makes me wonder whether we'll need to use the Flex Client for all our portal apps to keep the look-and-feel consistent throughout the portal. There's nothing worse to a user than having one UI element behave a certain way in one app and a totally different way in another - eg. compare the scrolling functionality of the WD table element to the Flex table element.
I'll look forward to hearing more about the Flex Client in the near future.
    Cheer
    Glen

  • Combine Adobe Flex 2 with Web Dynpro ABAP

Does somebody know if there is a way to call a WDA component from an Adobe Flex 2 application or the other way around? I think within a Portal it should be possible by creating 2 iViews and let them communicate through input and output events (portal events).
However I am looking for a way without having a portal available. Example: I have created a WDA application that displays customer information in a simple ALV. When I click on a row I would like to call a Adobe Flex component which shows the information in a very nice graphical chart that we cannot create in WDA because it is too complex and in Adobe Flex it is possible.
    Looking forward to your input!
    kind regards
    Angelique

    Hi  Angelique,
"Flex integration into Web Dynpro is not available to customers yet. The last I heard, it is supposed to be made available for Web Dynpro Java in Q2 of 2008 and made available for Web Dynpro ABAP in Q3 of 2008."

  • Web Dynpro Runtime

    Hi all,
    Could anyone explain me
    1. what a web dynpro runtime in visual composer?
    2. How can a visual composer model run in a web dynpro runtime?
    Regards,
    Divya

    Hi,
It is said that after compiling the model, GML code is converted into XGL code and by using flex or webdynpro runtime engine it is then converted into some specific executable format.
    1) What is the executable code format?
    2) Finally is the executable code converted into par files for deploying into the portal?
