Flexible environment import & export?

Dear Community,
is it possible to export and import environments. I would use a new MIDI mapping to play in drum notes with some doubled keyboard notes to trigger one Drum instrument (e.g. Drum Designers hihat receives f#1 from keyboard notes f#1 and d#1) and so on. I would like to switch back and forth during production, when necessary.

I am currently terminating a number of IPsec VPNs into customers' 'inside' VRFs (iVRFs) with the 'classic' crypto-map applied in a separate Front-Door VRF (FVRF) on an ASR1k. I now want to export a VPN route from one iVRF into another VRF using MP-BGP. This works as expected in as far as the VPN prefix makes it into the BGP table, but not into the RIB - it would appear that this may be by design and a route with a next-hop in the FVRF (i.e. the VPN RRI route) cannot be exported from the VRF and imported into another VRF. Is there any workaround for this; the only one solution which looks like it might work is to import/export these routes using another VRF and back-to-back VASI interfaces, using ordinary BGP to leak routes. Another possible solution is also to use sVTIs instead of classic crypto (thus avoiding the RRI route), but this doesn't address the need to support classic crypto.

I have no idea what you are asking or in what environment you are work.
Lets start with the need for a version number ... 9i is not a version ... it is a marketing label. Do you mean 9.0.? or 9.2.0.1 or 9.2.0.8 no one knows.
Second I have no idea what a you intend to convey with the statement "console standalone pc."
Third "unable" means what? That the pc crashed and burned and is a smoldering cinder or you received some error message you thought too unimportant to post? Again ... you've given us no useful information.
Finally what do you mean by OMS? Is this OMS as in the Java application running as part of the Grid Control or something else?
Finally what are you trying to import? How? A clear explanation is required.
If someone reading what you post can not understand or duplicate what you did because of lack of information you will not receive any help.

Import/ export of an object or item in portal 10g

Good Morning!

can anyone tell what is the format of import / export of an object or item in portal 10g?
 this is in the context of updating or rolling into production server an item whose earlier version might be sitting in the production server before. and it is based on the premise that the environment/ system is composed of more than one servers and production is only one of them.
 apologies ... if i am not even phrasing the question right. by format, what i mean to know is does it first delete the older component and then generate the new one or it renegades and keeps the older version and bring on the newer version, or what.

any hints will be appreciated.

Import/Export App Overwrite Timing Out

We are about to begin testing an application we've created, and need a testing environment. I have been able to successfully export an application from one server and import it to HTML DB on another, but every time I get to the screen (on the new server) where it asks me to confirm that I want to replace the already existing application, I hit the button to confirm, I wait forever as the blue bar creeps across the status bar of my browser, then I get a "Page Cannot be Displayed" error, like it's timing out or something.
When I go back, the application appears to have installed normally and seems to work, but I am worried that because of what seemed to be the installation timing out, that there may be things that didn't quite transfer. Is this a valid concern, or should I assume that everything transferred normally?

The process is actually pretty simple. In our case we had two servers, both w/ HTML DB installed. The way it basically works is that you go into the application you want to export, and you click the Export/Import link on the page. You will be taken through a simple step-by-step process by which you will ultimately just save the application somewhere as a .sql file. You will then go into HTML DB on the server where you would like the copied application to be, and click the same link, and go through a similar step-by-step process to import the application by browsing for it where it was saved when you exported it.
A few suggestions:
Any tables that are associated with the application will need to be recreated in your new environment. A simple way to do this is to use:
CREATE TABLE table_name AS (
SELECT * FROM table_name@oldserver
for each of your tables, if there are only a few. If it is larger, you may just want to copy the entire schema over to the new server, which is what we ended up having to do. But our DBA did that, so I'm not as familiar w/ that process.
However, if the tables have sequences associated with them they will need to be recreated on the new server as well, unless there is a way to copy them along w/ the table all at once, but as I said, we are not as familiar w/ that actual process. Of course you can simply truncate the tables if you don't want any of you previous data on your new tables.
Another thing we noticed when we imported a new application, is that when a Named LOV was used in a column of an updatable report, it didn't transfer over, so we had to go back to that select list and reset it as that particular Named LOV.
One thing you will want to be careful for if you're planning on importing/exporting applications frequently, for new versions and releases, is to make sure you don't hardcode any schema names in with your SQL in the application. This caused us some headaches because when we would import the new application, the new schema on which the tables existed was not the same as the one from the old app, and we kept getting errors until we went back and deleted every instance of the schema name in the SQL.
There may very well be better and more efficient ways to do these things than how I have suggested, but these are methods we used and we have been successful so far.

OWB is not showing some default options like contol center,import/export

Oracle (11.2.0.1.0) databse is installed on linux.
it is successfully installed on linx.
when i am trying to login to OWB GUI with owbowner/owbwoner.it is opend successfully.
1)when i right click on that 'MY_PROJECT' it is not showing any options like NEW,validate,import/export .
2)Under TOOL tab,control centre is not showing
3)Under TOOL tab,in preferences,it not showing OWB Environment properties
Like this way lot of default options are not showing.
Can anybody help on this issuue........?

CMSDK import/export utility

Can the 9i CMSDK import/export utility be used to export the content of the an iFS 1.1.6 schema to subsequently import into a 9i database? Once imported into the 9i database, then migrate/upgrade the 9i iFS schema to CMSDK 9 for testing purposes?

What I really need to be able to do is keep my iFS 1.1.6/RDBMS8.1.7.4 development environment intact, while creating a CMSDK/Oracle9i environment for regression testing. I have multiple iFS schemas (6) in our 8.1.7.4 dev database (source). And, what I would like to do is copy one of the iFS environments (including Metadata) out of source and move it into the CMSKD/Oracle9i environment(target). Both environments need to remain accessible, and the source environment needs to remain at version iFS1.1.6 / 8.1.7.4 for regression testing.
Here's a list of actions that I have taken:
1. install oracle9i rdbms software.
2. create 9i database from scratch.
3. install 9iAS software
4. install CMSDK software in 9iAS root.
5. export one iFS schema out of the dev source database. (Using the plain RDBMS export utility)
6. import this schema into the newly created Oracle9i database.
7. Run CMSDK configuration tool to upgrade the imported iFS 1.1.6 schema. <== FAILED HERE!!!!
I run into a problem at the start of the upgrade, when using the configuration tool. It complains that the credential manager username IFSSYS$CM does not exist and fails. So, I simply created a user called IFSSYS$CM in the 9i target database to see if this would allow the configuration tool upgrade process to progress and the result was another error of "Insufficient Privileges". How can manually set a the crediential manager so that the imported iFS schema can be upgraded successfully?
I realize that be doing an in-place upgrade of my entire Oracle 8i source database. I will be able to migrate both the RDBMS and iFS using the installation/configuration tools.
If there is a limitation of not being able to copy (credential manager metadata) an iFS 1.1.6 schema out of the source and into a target database, and then upgrading/migrating the schema to CMSDK/Oracle9i. Then I may be forced into cloning my entire development instance (giving it a different name) and then doing in-place migration of the entire cloned database (all 6 iFS schemas). Our source dev database is 18G and includes much more (probably garbage data) than will be needed for our regression testing. My hope was to take only a subset of the 18G (1 of the 6 iFS schemas) and move it into CMSDK/Oracle9i to perform the testing. We are very low on available disk space and taking only a subset would be a more efficient use.
I have even attempted to use the CMSDK export utility to export the iFS1.1.6 schema. I was hoping this would export the iFS1.1.6 schema, metadata, contents, and credential manager. This was not successful due to missing Java packages not installed in the Oracle8i (8.1.7.4 database).
These are all the details of my dilemma. Can you help guide me in the right direction. I've spent a lot time already fumbling through and have had a number of false starts with my proposed approach. I need someone to tell me the recommended way of approaching my issue. Thanks again.

Directories Issue (Import/Export)

I have some directories in my Prod environment, i want to create a script to create directories INCLUDING GRANTS. Is there any dictionary ?
If somebody have a script, please send it to me

Is there any command to import/export directories.

i want to export directories from prod and then importing into test as we can exp/imp tables.
OR
as i created script with following query, i want to write same query for grants of the same directories.
select 'Create or Replace Directory ' || dd.directory_name || ' as ' || replace(dd.directory_path,'h:','E:\DataTransfer' )||';' from dba_directories dd

Questions on Subviews and Import/Export in Data Modeler v3 EA1.

I have a few questions about the capabilities of Data Modeler v3 EA1:
1) Is it possible to rename subviews? Would like more meaningful names then Relational_x - Subview_x.
2) Is it possible to save documents at subview level?
3) Is it possible to import/export subsets of data?
4) Having problems importing Erwin 7 .xml file, is there known problems with this import?

Hi Judy,
1) To rename a subview just right click on it in the browser tree and select "Properties". In the properties dialog change the name and click OK button.
2) You can save a subview as new Data Modeler design - from the File menu select Export -> To Data Modeling Design. In the newly opened dialog select the subview you want to export and click OK button.
3) After saving a subview as new design (see answer #2) it can be imported in some other design (File -> Import -> Data Modeler Design).
4) What kind of problems do you have with import of Erwin 7.* xml file?

how to import/export data,table script in pl/sql developer.
By using the export functionality i am getting the dump file.I want a sql file.How do i do it?
And i want the data in csv file and table script in a sep sql file.How do i do it?

<li>Provide the location and name of ther "sql" file.
If you want output in CSV format, choose "csv" from the "format" drop-down.

Getting an error while importing/exporting the universe from my BO Designer

Hi,
   I am facing a issue while importing/exporting the universe from my BO Designer to the Server.The error is mentioned below.
   'File Repository Server Input is down'
   Once I click the OK button on this error message, it displays the message
   'Could not import the Universe'.
I tried the check the status of the File Repository Server (Ouput and Input) and also the of the Root Directory on the Physical Server and also my machine.They all have read-write access.
Installed Version of the Universe Designer Client: Business Object XI Release 2 SP3
Installed Version of the BO Enterprise Server: Business Object XI Release 2 SP2

   The step you have mentioned may not be applicable to my issue as one of my colleagues can import/export the universe from the same server
The second thing is that a DB2 Client v9 is installed on both mine and my colleagues system.The Designer software can recognise the DB2 drivers on his system but it cannot recognise the same drivers on my system.I even checked the versions of the BO software installed on his and my system and they are same.
The only difference is that his machine is a Windows XP Machine and mine is a Network Desktop.
Will any of the above two things will affect the operation of the BO Designer.
