FLEXnet Licensing Issue/No Programs Are Working/Can't Uninstall Programs

First off, shame on Adobe and their insufficient support team, that is across the ocean, thousands of miles away. This irritates the height of my temper, and I'm well sure it does thousands of other people like myself. If I ran a business like this, I would take time and work to make sure that I hire competant people that will know how to solve any issue my customer may have.
It puts a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak, to see that all this company cares about is accepting all the money for the product they sell, but can't back up their FAULTY programs with support for their customers. The care that I see in this, is quite not visible, tell me wrong if you disagree. But, I must say, they do produce a nice product, as long as it would work for me all the time.
I was hungup on by one man, who couldn't help me with my issue, and completely wasted my time. He took 10 minutes everytime, yes, 10 minutes of silentness, making me wait for him to come up with something that I've already tried.
SO, here I am, writing on this forum, hoping that some other person feels the same way I do, and can assist me in my problem. Here is my scenario:
I have Web Premium CS3.
I operate on Windows Vista Home Basic.
No program in the suite will open without it saying the "Licensing Subsystem Catastrophically Failed". Wow, big words.
FLEXnet is complete crap, the sound of this word makes me angry.
I can't uninstall a few of the programs, not through Add and Remove programs, or through trying to do it on the CD.
I've used their silly little solution page fixes, that didn't work. This includes CS3cleanup.
I need these programs to work, day to day.

Did you try the License Repair Tool? <http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/licensing.html>
This article probably has all the help I could find. Have you tried the solutions it mentions:

  • Flexnet Licensing issues. Shut out of software for two weeks! Support Sucks

I am contacting the Better Business Burea tomorrow. I have paid thousands of dollars to Adobe and am now locked out of using the software I rely on for my business. The entire suite just stopped working due to licensing errors and reinstallation has not helped nor has any of the links I've been sent to. They were supposed to provide me with a new install of my CS3 Production Premium Suite but after taking 4 hours to download I found it to be incomplete (missing an entire disc.) When I called back they told me they didn't currently have a working install and I should call back on Monday. I have tried calling back several times this week and waited on hold for an hour and a half each time and never reached anyone. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I'm losing business every day that I'm unable to do my graphic design work. I'm going to start posting on Facebook and anywhere else I can think of to try and find others who might be interested in sueing. We should be reimbursed for lost income while Adobe does nothing to provide us with working software after taking our money!

I'm in the exact same situation with the same problem -- though I'm only on day three - but have been throwing half done projects to printers all over town to finish for my clients and am starting to think this is going to effect me in the long-run.
I tried the license recovery, editing the flex permissions etc.  uninstalled, used the clean script everything on all their kb articles and no luck --- this happened before and I got the "expired" message - the clean script fixed that ... but the "stopped working" version seems to be impossible.
Here's where I'm at now.. after I run the license recovey (at 0) w/ no luck, I uninstall, run the script and shut down complete, reboot, check that I can't find any adobe anywhere and start the install again ... the install works fine -- all the programs install EXCEPT for the "Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard" componet - which is the last to install and only pops up for a second before I get the "installation incomplete - 5 components successfull... 1 component failed" message.   I'm thinking this is the reason for all my trouble. I've tried reinstalling to "repair" just that -- but it's not an option to click, however if you start the install w/ nothing clicked it repairs the shared components and says it going to install this component -- but continues to fail.
Any ideas - If I upgrade to CS4 will that install okay -- even when my CS3 isn't working?
Thanks for any help in advance!!

  • Can't Uninstall Program (Avid)

I'm trying to uninstall a program with the uninstaller they have built in. When i do I get error: uninstall requires administrative privileges. I checked my profile and I am listed as administrator.

    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper
        2. AppDelete
        3. Automaton
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash
        8. Amnesia
        9. Uninstaller
      10. Spring Cleaning

  • I carnt hear my message tone, the sounds it makes when the phone locks and opens. Also i am unable to hear my music playing from my phone but my alarm and ringtone are working. Can anyone help

i carnt hear my message tone, the sound it makes when the phone locks and opens, also i am unable to hear music when playing from my phone but my ringtone and alarm tone work.Ive made sure the silent button is not on,and the volume button on the side of the phone is just showing it blank instead of it going up and down.To try and fix this i have reset my settings and restored my phone, but now its just skipping the music i have purchased from itunes when in a docking station which is now another problem i have as well. Can anyone help????

    Hello dbrookes,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like even though the Mute switch is not on, sounds are not making the, well, sound they should, and the volume buttons make a blank volume indicator appear on the screen that does not show the volume level.
I wanted to recommend a couple of things.
First, I would reset the phone:
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
From: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If that does not resolve the issue, then you may want to try backing up to iTunes, and restoring the iPhone again but this time do not restore the backup and set it up as new to see if the issue persists without the previous configuration.
Just incase you need it, this article will help with that:

  • Imac crashes when i try to start itunes...all other programs are working fine....help !!!

imac crashes when i try to start itunes.... have updated everything...still crashes...please help...

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the BOOT_TIME log message that corresponds to the last boot time when you had the problem. Now clear the search box to reveal all messages. Select the ones logged before the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
For example, if the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down for three minutes before you forced a restart, post the messages timestamped within three minutes before the boot time, not after. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract—not at the beginning.
If there are long runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". A shutdown stall report has a name that ends in ".shutdownstall". Select the most recent of each, if any. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. It's possible that none of these reports exists.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash or panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • Conflicts & Errors with BB Desktop V.5.0.1.....Can't Uninstall Program

Ever since I installed Desktop Mgr. V. 5.0.1 from Verizon for my Tour, I've had a problem. A window frequently pops up on my screen that says “Please wait while Windows configures Roxio Media Manager.” Windows then tries to install Roxio Media Manager. I couldn’t find either Roxio or Media Manager to uninstall it when I opened my Windows Control Panel. I found a Roxio folder in Program Folders and I deleted it. I then opened Registry Editor and removed a Roxio folder from that as well. A few minutes later, a Windows Installer window popped up on my screen and said (re. Roxio Media Manager) “Unable to find a certificate file.” Now, I'm trying to uninstall V. 5.0.1 and go back to V. 4.7 I can't even do that because when I attempt the uninstall, I get an error message saying that the computer is attempting another installation/uninstall and I can't install or uninstall two things at the same time. In other words, I can't get 5.0.1 to stop trying to configure Media Manager long enough for me to uninstall V.5.0.1. Any ideas on how to handle this?

Media Manager is an integral part of DTM...there is no separate install from which to uninstall. Hence, what matters is which version of DTM 5.0.1 you installed....some come with the embedded MM and others do not.
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Choose the version that either has or does not have Media Manager based on your circumstances. Also choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:

Hopefully that will get things going again.

  • Itunes doesn't work, can't uninstall, or reinstall, or sync OR ANYTHING!!

I have been battling this problem for MONTHS and as hard as I try to find information or support, NOTHING CAN FIX THIS. I just want to be able to sync things to my ipod AND ACTUALLY USE IT AGAIN. When I go to file sync, it's grey, and I can't select it. Auto sync is also disabled for some reason, and CAN'T be reinabled. PLEASE HELP ME. I've tried to reinstall, but that doesn't work because it can't locate 'itunes.msi'. So I cant uninstall, reinstall, install, or update! GRAAAA!! Somebody help me please!!!!!!

I've tried to reinstall, but that doesn't work because it can't locate 'itunes.msi'.
    let's start with that one.
    let's try the following procedure.
first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
next, use the the following document as a guide for manual removal of leftover itunes and quicktime program files:
Removing iTunes and QuickTime for Windows
now try another itunes install. does it go through properly?
now try changing your ipod settings again. do they work properly now?
if not, do you get an error message when you try to change the settings? if so, what do they say?

  • Quicktime loaded and not working - Can't uninstall

I have tried for the past few weeks to get my iTunes working.
Everytime I click on iTunes, a message pops up stating that Quicktime Streaming cant run because it is already loaded. I went to Run>MSConfig and turned off the QTTask button, restarted and it still gives me the same message.
I can't open up QT because it shuts down on me when I click any tab in the folder.
I attempted to uninstall and it said the same thing, Quicktime streaming can't run because it is already loaded.
I then went into remove software and tried to uninstall it there and a message came up stating:
    Error : 0X80040707
Description : DLL Function call crashed : QTInstall code quicktime.unistallproc.
    Setup will now terminate
What does all this mean and how come it's happening? How do I fix it? It was working fine and then just one day, bam, it stopped.

    okay, that's a 32-bit version. so here's what we'll try first.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
next use the QuickTime component of the complete uninstall instructions in the following document as a guide to a manual removal of leftover QuickTime program files and folders.
Trouble installing iPod, iTunes, or QuickTime software in Windows
once we've got all the existing QuickTime scraped away, let's try a careful standalone QT 7.1 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.
Quicktime 7.1 Installers … get the one that doesn’t mention itunes
if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?
(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)

  • How can I uninstall programs downloaded online?

I have downloaded programs such as Spodify & an transfer software from online but I can not figure out how to unistall either program. They will not drag to the trash. I have tried everything I can think of.

Download and install this free utility >  Download AppCleaner for Mac
That will uninstall not only the apps but all the associated files.
If that doesn't work, check the website when you downloaded the apps from for uninstall instructions.

  • Can u uninstall programs on macs

Sorry this sees like a stupid question but i recently downloaded menuet and i realized i dont need it so i wanted to unistall it so i went to the folder and found that there is no uninstallation file. Then i downloaded appzapper to uninstall it and appzapper didnt do it's job correctly. now i have two programs that i ave no need for(Appzapper & Menuet) i cant unistall them. i thought macs would have a sort of add/remove programs option like their micorsoft counterparts but i was wrong

The vast majority of the time you can indeed simply drag the application folder to the trash and empty the trash which removes the program. Unlike Windows programs, Mac apps generally contain the entire application and support files in the application folder. There are a few exceptions to this rule. Microsoft Office requires an uninstaller to completely remove all traces of it and even then it may not delete all the preference files. Some third party utility programs require the use of an uninstaller. There was one application, whose name escapes me, but promises to increase the speed of you downloads that requires and uninstaller. In fact if you install the application and do not use the uninstaller to remove it you will not be able to download anything in your browser until you do.
The safest thing to do is to read the Manufacturers instructions as to how to remove the application. The application will contain a "read me" file that generally covers installation and will mention if an uninstaller is included. If it doesn't mention an uninstaller than you can feel assured that dragging the program to the trash took care of it.
