Flicker removal - Shortcut key or script

Hello! - Is there anyway to make a 'flicker removal' shortcut key?  I am not opposed to editing the *.kys file if need be.  I would really like a script to do this but from what I see it is not possible at the moment but I am hoping I am wrong.  Any help is appreciated.

Just a thought....
First of all, I want to say that my camera seems to hold the exposure in manual mode pretty well. Perhaps if you held your mirror up out of the way? (I use a mirrorless.)
I don't know why the exposure setting would change.
However, you could try picking a spot on one image in Photoshop and get the exact RGB setting for that spot. Then in Camera RAW you should be able to adjust the exposure to get the same exact RGB setting for that exact spot in each image. A little time consuming perhaps, but I would think that most of the images would already be the same. Or, if not, they might be off the same amount for quite a few frames in a row? If that was the case, you could sync a lot of them together so that what you did to one applied to them all.
Of course that falls apart as the sun changes position across the sky. Or if a cloud goes by.
Think of it like rotoscoping. A necessary evil?

  • Shortcut keys not working properly in Pages

    Hi All,
    I have been putting up with not being able to use shortcut keys for cut, paste and undo for months now. One of the threads here advised to use System Preferences to set up shortcuts, and I did this, and it seemed successful.
    I then found out that although my document was being preserved by the command + S that I had used throughout, I couldn't trust it to be up-to-date. I found out the hard way because I lost a page (which takes a good half hour to do) and I can see if I look at command + i as it shows the time when the saving was done. If I use Save from the menu bar, it saves immediately. If I do command + S it may show some earlier time - could be hours earlier or it may be current.
    What is going on? Does anyone else have that experience?

    You can't permanently remove shortcut keys as they're built into Pages. (Well you can, but you've got to install and use the Xcode Developer Tools to directly edit Pages.)
    But I have seen shortcut keys overridden in one program by another program. For example, System Preferences can do this, as can items in your Services menu.
    You mentioned that you've used System Preferences to set up shortcuts. I would guess that this has overridden you shortcut keys in Pages. Can you check this? Or even remove all the custom keyboard shortcuts from System Preferences?

    Got the "apple firewire ntsc" choice to show up even if grayed out and "missing" under "audio/visual" menus by recreating choices in Easy Setup under "final cut pro" MENU thank GOODNESS because I was reading horror stories on here about this under another thread with someone trashing preferences, reinstalling and the works and still not getting it to show up...on my search now for an analog/digital converter up at b&h...find it odd that the s video connector wouldn't show the crt monitor when I put both displays through the 3870...I switched it back to see if it worked again when only the one dell monitor display was there and there it is again mirroring the screen display on my desktop...just can't be seen as an "external monitor" in fcp...couldn't find anything specific in the shane ross threads to this. I'm sad the program doesn't just see the s video connection though the 3870 though my computer does fine and will query up at b&h in regard to what might be affordable as far as a digital/analog converter. It's also weird in itself that when I put the two dell monitors on the one card my computer no longer could see the s video crt connection...makes no sense. Will report in later as to what I discover up at b&h as I'm sure there's a world of people out there using this sony crt monitor still even into the upgrades with computers and software so I imagine therein lies the solution. Thanks again and I'll report in as to what hardware might be suggested for me.

  • What happened to the 'Shape Mode' shortcut keys on the Pen Tool?

    For the longest time I've used both the Shape and Pen Tools for drawing vectors in Photoshop, but with CS6 I noticed a lot of weird behaviours. The one that is really getting to me is the lack of 'Shape Mode' shortcut keys when using the Pen Tool. When on the 'Shape Tool', fo example Cirle or Rectange, you can press the Shift to change the Shape Mode to 'Add', Alt to change it to 'Subtract' or both together to get 'Intersect'. This functionality used to exist on the Pen Tool too, but in CS6 I can't seem to get it working.
    A collegue suggested to move over to Illustrator for all my Vector needs, and I know that this a good advice. However the lack of quick/integrated changing between 'Shape Modes' in either product (now) makes drawing things alot slower (for me).
    Am I missing something, or is this feature now ommited in Photoshop CS6. If it is does anyone know if its possible to script something to allow this kind of behviour in Photoshop or Illustrator?
    cheers,
    Jon

    The modifier keys "Alt|Opt", "Ctrl|Cmd" and "Shift" work differently depending on the tool being used but the individual keys seem to provide somewhat related functions.
    For example the "Shift" key tends to be a constraining key Rectangle tools are constrained to square ellipse tools to Circles. However if there is an Active selection when you hold down the skey when you drag out a new selection it does not reset the current selection instead the new selection is not constrained and is added to the current selection. Shift constrains Transform tool to current aspect ratio,  Shift constrains Line tools to vertical, horizontal or 45 degree angles. Pen tool like line tool shift constrains the angle.
    The "Alt|Opt" key changes the way tools operate. Transforms are from the center not from the side or corner being dragged.  Selection tools like the rectangle and ellipse will cause the intal drag out be from the center however it there is a Active selection dragging out a new selection will be subtracted from the current selection. This key changes the Pen tool from draw mode to anchor point adjusting.
    The "Shift" and "Alt|Opt" modifier keys can be used together to have an operation be both constrain and from the center.
    The "Ctrl|Cmd" key seems to change the way a tool works on a control anchor point.  The Pen Tool changes from Pen Draw mode to Direct Selection tool to facilitate moving the point.  Transform can be distorted a single corner point can be moved and distort the rectangle bounding box.
    These keys may have other functions I don't know about.  Photoshop has many features so many I don't know if any one person know and uses all of them. For the rest of us they seem to be Photoshop hidden secrets.

  • Possible to set shortcut for file scripts custom script ?

    i have some custom scripts in file > scripts. i'd like to set a shortcut key for them, but you can't do that thru edit > keyboard shortcuts because the custom ones don't show up, only "other script F12" shows up.
    is there a way to set a shortcut to execute a custom script? i am using Ai CS3 version 13.0.2
    some work arounds i tried that didn't seem to work:
    - setting the script as an action - didn't work, the script does a bunch of stuff that can't be solved by actions
    - setting an action and inserting a menu item, then setting a shortcut to run the action - doesn't help because menu item (the script) gets disassocated from the action every time you shut down Ai. sometimes it disassociates itself. tried to save the actions and reload them, but the scripts were still disassociated
    thanks

    As it sounds like you have already discovered, you should be able to define an Action with but one InsertMenuCommand step in it. That menu command would be the selection of your script from the File Menu.
    However, that functionality has been broken for four full versions now. The Menu Command step goes vacant after quitting and re-launching Illustrator.
    I keep an Action in my Actions palette titled CurrentScript. I can at least, at the beginning of a work session in which I know I will need to call a particular script repeatedly, re-do the Insert Menu Item step and have it survive during the work session. (It will, of course, be gone if I quit & relauch.)
    If Actions could reliably call scripts from the File menu, one could do some very cool things. Many operations in the standard UI are not available via the scripting model, and of course vice-versa. Simply being able to reliably call scripts as individual steps of an Action would open the door for elaborate automations that perform both scripted functions and those available in the UI.
    But alas, users have been complaining about this bug for four versions now.
    I think it is conceivable that one could build a Javascript that employs the ScriptUI functionality, and have that script run automatically at launch. That script could simply be a "dashboard" palette from which to call other scripts. But one should not have to go to such ridiculous lengths to work around a bug that has gone unaddressed for so long.

  • How to set Shortcut keys for button in Apex

    Hi
    Could anyone help me on how to set shortcut keys for buttons in Apex.
    I need to use say ALT + S to submit the page.
    The following thread pertaining to HTML DB refered to use ACCESS key. but that couldnt work in my case.
    Re: operation of the app. with the keyboard
    Any pointers on achieving this would be helpful.
    Thanks
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
    I’m afraid you must do it using javascript key listener. You can’t use action() on template based buttons because they are actually not HTML buttons but images with hyperlink.
    Key listener checks which key has been pressed down and invoke some JS function. For example, write this code in page header:
    <script>
    document.onkeydown=keyCheck;
    function keyCheck(e){
         var KeyId = (window.event) ? event.keyCode : e.keyCode;
         switch(KeyId){
              case 113:
                   doSubmit('SAVE');
                   break;
              case 118:
                   alert('Hello');
                   break;
    </script>
    This script will submit page with request 'SAVE' if you press F2 or will show alert message if you press F7. Modify it to your issue.

  • How do you disable the shortcut key in Mail that deletes all mail in the trash folder

    Is there a way to disable the shortcut key in Mail in Mountain Lion that deletes all mail in the Trash folder in all accounts: <shift><command><delete> ?
    I did it once by mistake and it deleted all my trash - it is very difficult to restore when there are thousands of messages in various emaiil accounts.
    Thanks

    While you can't (so far as I know) remove it - you can assign a different (& less likely to be used accidentally) one via System Preferences - Keyboard - Shortcuts.
    Go there, create a new one (or 2) for Mail only, and give it the exact name(s) if the menu item(s) in question, capitalisation & ... included.
    Below is on 10.6, but the idea's the same

  • Flicker Removal in Premiere Elements 12

    The  option for Flicker Removal only allows you to add Flicker Removal to one clip at a time.  This is very time consuming if you have many clips.  Is there anyway to highlight all of the clips at the same time?

    Michael Stehly
    Thanks for asking for additional information on the suggested feature.
    There are several scenarios for selecting more than one clip at a time. See which one works best for you.
    Starting immediately after you have applied Anti-Flicker to the first clip and have done the copy in the initial step.
    1. If you clips are not necessary side by side right next to each other, you might want to hold down the Shift key as you click on the ones that you want to be selected all at one time. Then the Paste Effects and Adjustments part.
    2. If the clips are side by side right next to each other, you could use the mouse cursor to left click and drag a rectangle out around the clips to be selected in order to select them. Then the Paste Effects and Adjustments part.
    3. If you want all the clips on the Timeline, then Edit Menu/Select All and then  the Paste Effects and Adjustments part.
    Any further questions or if you need clarification on any thing written, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.
    Looking forward to your results.

  • Force quit shortcut keys

    What are the shortcut keys for force quit in mac ?
    it shows three keys, what is the first key. New to mac , I dont get the first key
    MACBOOK PRO   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    That key combination used to work, now I just get a sound suggesting it is an undefined shortcut. As well, when I briefly push the power button, I used to get the option sleep/restart/shut-down the computer. The function is now lost.
    It would seem to me that it is a software problem, and that I just need to remove a faulty preference file, or do a similar move. I have tried a number of things (reset PRAM, reset PMU, update firmware, MacJanitor, clean up priviliges, among others). But no luck. Any suggestions?
    Again, it used to work fine when I first got my MacBook. I have had Macs since 1988, and this is the first time I see something like this.

  • Establishing new shortcut keys WITH coordinate values

    Hello,
    I don't know if it's possible, but I am trying to make a shortcut key that will let me move a text box to a specific place. I have a bunch of text boxes on each page, and I want to move each one to a specific area. Going to the transform window and entering the X and Y coordinates is time consuming, so I would like to make shortcut keys I could use for the text boxes. I've looked at the shortcut keys and couldn't find a place where I could enter X and Y coordinates.
    Unfortunately when I started out on this project, I didn't know much about InDesign and I disassociated all the text boxes from the master page (yup, went and did it over the course of 2 hours, boy do I regret that now!) otherwise I'd just move the boxes on the master page.
    For example, I'd like to move a box from it's current position to
    X: 23.44 mm
    Y; 243.00 mm
    Or, if there is an easier way to do this without using shortcut keys, I'd appreciate any help.

    I still get an error message. I copied Gerald's script exactly as it appears above, and the error message says "bad argument move" line 2.
    Sorry to not get this, but I really have no idea how the script Gerald gave me should appear. Should the entire thing be on one line, should the spaces appear exactly as he has them??? I copied and pasted it in just as it appears below - the same form as above:
    for (n=0; n<app.selection.length; n++) {
    app.selection[n].move([23.44, 100.05]);
    Maybe there was some slight adjustment I should have made? Please bear with me, I want to get this right, sorry if I am missing something that everyone else already knows.
    I was able to get the "helloworld" script from the tutorial to work, btw, so I know that there isn't some glitch keeping me from executing scripts.
