Flicker when tweening

Hi! I'm making a banner in flash, and are moving some simple objects around.
I mainy use vector squares, but when I tween them (classic tween) in a slow motion, the shape starts to "flicker" or "lag". Why is this?
I think there has to be something with the calculations Flash is doing, but why can't it make the animation smooth?
Is there any way to make Flash calculate more presicely, or make it stop flicker (without actioncript)?

I use a Mac Pro, 2 x 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 8gb DDR2 RAM, so I don't think it's the computer...
And my framerate is set to 24fps, and that should really be enough... It not lag as usual. It's almost as if the timeline sometimes jums a frame back or something. The shape jumps back and forth some pixels... I tried to adjust my fps to a really high level, but the flickering is still there.

I am experiencing a sudden screen flicker when I copy files or folders to my desktop? Doesn't seem to affect the system in any way, just very annoying. Anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix for this?

  • Screen Flicker when swiping to home screen?

Has anyone noticed a screen flicker when swiping from page 2 to page 1 of apps? Happens every single time. It only flickers when arriving at page 1 from page 2 of apps, never in any other page or search screen.
    I have a 16GB iPhone 4. Never saw this on a 3G iPhone with iOS 3.1.3

I got my iPhone 4 replaced 8-7-10 (3rd) iPhone 4. Yes I see that flicker as well. I'm extremely disappointed in apple. I had the iPhone 3G and got that phone replaced 4 times. Now I'm on my 3rd iPhone 4, why do the iPhones have so many problems? Whenever I go to an apple store I see tons of customers getting their iPhones replaced. We pay a lot of money for this phone and in the end the phone has problems which results in multiple replacements. We buy apps, movies, music, cases, batteries etc. Apple boasts about how great the iPhone is, I've yet to see that "great" iPhone.

  • Screen flicker when the CPU is working

My macbooks started to flicker when the CPU is working, I'm using bootcamp and it doesn't seem to flicker when im using Windows XP.
Anyone had the same problem or got any ideas on what I should do?
    Thanks
    Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Interesting... I see a few possibilities of what could cause the problem:
    1. It could be a software issue. I can get mine to stop doing it for several days by making a setting change in System Preferences > Energy Saver. After several days, it starts doing it again.
    2. It is hardware, but not the screen. It could be some component that controls the screen brightness. However, it does not start when I dim the screen with the F1 key on the keyboard. So it may be something with the power management logic hardware.
I have the feeling it is in software, judging by the fact that your screen replacement did not fix the problem, combined with the observations I have made with my own MacBook.

  • Why do I get a red or green flicker when i update my current iMovie project?

Why do I get a red or green flicker when i update my current iMovie project?

    Hi Cactusbarb,
If the LCD screen is turning red, your camcorder will require service to correct this issue.  If you're seeing the red "Rec" dot, then the recording stops, you may need to use a faster memory card.
We recommend the use of Speed Class 6 or 10 memory cards with this camcorder.
If you determine that y our camcorder requires service, please contact us at [email protected] for service options.  Let us know the model camcorder and your zip code.

  • Flicker when frame with still image runs

The photographs in my iMovie seem to flicker when I view a frame. What I mean by this is that it flashes as an over-sharpened image in photoshop. Very contrasty and pixelated.

    Hi
I use .jpg or .pic photos in iMovie - no .bmp or other alient formats.
When thin lines flickers I first in PhotoShop (or other photo editing program)
add a minimum of "Gausian Blurr" to those photos.
    This use to help.
    Judging Quality in iMovie.
    • On Monitor screen - NO this is just an approximation due to what Your Mac can cope with.
    • Connect a miniDV tape Camera to FireWire and a small TV to analog out and
in iMovie pref set Playback via Camera.
Now I see my movie in Real-Time during process and this is very close to the final result.

  • W530 External Moniters Flicker when opening when opening programs

So I have been having issues with all my external screens fliscker and generally freaking out anytime i open an application that utilizes the nvidia GPU (K200M in my case), such as Photoshop.  While freaking out the windows, the title bars also get knocked out of whack, for example having transparency just fail for the minimize/maximize/close buttons disappearing to show what is under the window.
I have the laptop docked with screen closed and 2 U2212HM connected through the displayport connectors and a third U2212HM connected via VGA.  I dont observe the issues normally on the laptop without the externals hooked up.
I have tried installing the NVIDIA Optimus Display Driver  version 9.18.13.3302 / 8.15.10.2725  which supposedly
    "Version <9.18.13.3302 / 8.15.10.2725>
(Fix) Fixed an issue where the screen of some external monitors might flicker when launching applications."
but there is no improvement.  Updating ti the latest Nvidia drivers doesnt help either.

    Hi,
Is there any problem when you open a Word or Excel file from local drive?
Please try to add the network share location to the Trusted Location to check if it helps.
If you have any security program installed, please temporarily turn off it to test the issue again.
In addition, we can also perform a Windows clean boot to check of this issue is caused by software conflict. See:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us
If above didn’t fix the issue, please open the Windows event viewer and check if we can find some related logs.

  • Flicker when connecting Macbook Pro to LG 20in LCD

    Hi all
When I connect my Macbook Pro to my LG 20in LCD (L204WT) I get a flicker on the LCD panel. I've tried the following which all work (i.e. no flicker on the external panel):
    * connecting the LG to my Powerbook G4
    * connecting the MBP to a Viewsonic 20in monitor
    * connecting the MBP to the LG via VGA (d-sub) - although the display seems to be less sharp than I'm used to
I've used 2 sets of DVI cables, but to no avail. It's only the LG-DVI-MBP combination that does not work.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

I selected and tryied all of my tv's hdmi ports and is the same.
    What can i do?
    Thanks.

First, mini-DVI adapters are used in MBP's that predate the ones covered in this forum. Nevertheless, there could be any number of issues, the most important of which is you need to go to System Preferences>Displays, and make certain you've set up dual displays in Arrangements.
Also, remember, in your MBP sound is not transferred through the mini-DVI port. You need to set up sound via a digital TOSlink cable from the MBP to your entertainment system.
Finally, some iTunes movies have DRM restrictions that will block the video from going to your TV.

  • Display flicker when connecting external monitor

    Hi all,
Sad to say my first post is regarding a problem I'm having with my new (re-furbished) MBP 15". It's also my first MAC in years.
Starting this past weekend, when I have my Dell 20" LCD hooked up via DVI to the MBP, the display on the MBP will start to flicker, go blurry, show colored lines, etc. Basically, it looks like any other laptop display when they start to go bad.
So, I removed the monitor, ran the HW diagnostics, and found no problems. I ran the laptop by itself all day and had no problems.
Last night I hooked it up again and the same thing happed. The connections are tight and the display on the Dell LCD is perfect. It's on the MBP that freaks out.
    Anyone have any suggestions??
    Thx.

helps clear up your problems. Your symptoms sound similar to his, and he was able to correct it with video settings.

  • Why does the revealed image flicker when using the Show/Hide feature?

I started using the Show/Hide Button and Forms function in InDesign CS6 and have had some peculiar things happen. I was mocking up some samples and on the swf version if you hover over the left side of the blue rectangle all is fine but if you move to the right side of the blue rectangle the image starts to flicker. When you hover over the red rectangle the pop-up image just flickers constantly. I guess there must be some issue with having the button for a revealed image under some portion of the revealed image. See: http://www.idugsf.com/_a/FI_BookSamples.html .
The problem went away when the button and the revealed image did not overlap.
This problem didn't occur with another file I had originally created in CS5.
On the pdf version the buttons which are on their own layer behind the revealed image moved to the front in the pdf: http://www.idugsf.com/_a/FI_BookSamples.pdf

  • All the menu drop-downs just flicker when I press them.

All the menu drop-downs (File, Edit, View, etc.) don't display and hold when I press any of them. They flicker on but immediately the content disappears and all that's seen is a ghost outline of the drop-down box. This happens with the major menu items as well as all of the sub-menu items.

    Try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Flicker when using drop shadow with edge feather

I have encountered a new problem with FCP 5.1.2. When using edge feather and drop shadow together, I encounter a flicker around the edge of the feathered video image. This flicker goes away if I remove the drop shadow. I read in an earlier post that the 5.02 update solved this problem. However, I am using version 5.1.2 and the sugestion to reajust the percentage of the effect and then back to the original percentage, doesn't work. I have used the edge feather, drop shadow combo many times in earlier versions of FCP with no problem. Fixes anyone?
I posted this months ago with no reply so I'm trying again. Anyone with any thoughts? I really don't like having to resort to creating the drop shadow in Photoshop.

What I am trying to do is very simple. I want to soften the edges of an image and give it a drop shadow. This "image" could be a scaled and cropped DV source, or it could be a photoshop file. This is something I have done routinely in previous versions of FCP without any problem. This is very basic. I have opened earlier projects that were edited in those earlier versions of FCP, and what looked fine then, looks horrible now. If others are not having this problem, can I assume my software upgrade is defective in some way?
Please, if someone would perform the following and report back, I would greatly appreciate it.
1- import two DV video files into a new FCP project.
2- place DV file "A" on the V1 track
3- create a V2 track and place DV file "B" over DV file "A"
4- scale DV file "B" to 50% and apply a 100% Edge Feather to it.
5- now check the Drop Shadow box
This will look fine on your computer screen, but when viewing on an external monitor the edges of DV file "B" flicker in a terribly annoying way.
Something this simple and basic shouldn't be causing this much pain. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Jpegs flicker when exported to .mov

Media & project properties field order is set to "none" but 2 jpegs still flicker on the exported QT file. What to do?

The funny things that the XP desktop seems to Obey CM - when I switch between ICC profiles with the Pantone profile chooser, I do see a color difference in the desktop...
Following your advice, I exported eith sRGB, and they still look shifted towards pink, but less than in ARGB.
Exporting with the Slideshow feature to an Adobee SS presentation - keeps the colors correct, Salute to Adobee, a serious company (unlike MS...)
Last question - I want to print these JPEGS at a regular photo LAB. Should I give them in sRGB or Adobee RGB. Do regular photo labs obey CM?
    Thanks, Miki

  • New Imac screen flicker when dimmed down

Hi guys, I got my new Imac about a week ago, aside from the whistling and dead pixels in the isight, are any of you guys getting screens that are sort of flickering when you start to dim them down. The light dims and filckers very quickly. It's kind of looks like the old CRT's at a slow refresh rate and is becoming really annoying. I was wondering if this is normal for all the Imacs. I'll be getting a replacement because of the dead pixels in my Isight, but this will also be something to look for in the new one. So it'll be good to know if it is normal.

Well, this is definitely a hardware defect and it appears to be wide spread. I took my iMac back to the Apple store today and the Tech saw the problem too and exchanged it for a new one (since it was within 14 days). Well, got that one home, and it had the same flicker issue. Two hours later back at the Apple Store, they saw the issue with the replacement machine too, but not with any of their floor models. So, they took that one back too and are doing a writeup to send it back to Apple so they can diagnose the problem.
The replacement iMac they brought out for me this time we setup in the store and confirmed did not have the display flicker issue when the backlight was all the way down.
So my suggestion is if you have this issue, take it into the Apple Store and have them replace it or repair it.
