Flickering Display Successes

Since the other threads are getting so long with people saying the same thing, i thought i would round them all up and start this one for people who have fixed thier flickering display to share with others how they did it. Hopefully this should be useful for people who havnt fixed theirs yet.
So please don't post unless you have fixed your display (or apple have).
Il start... I downloaded the latest battery update and it seems to have worked.

I have the same problem (but no solution I'm afraid). If I move the screen back and forward a few time I can find a position where the flickering stops. I'm guessing this is a cable or connector problem. For me, it's an irritation that doesn't warrant paying the money to get it fixed, since my PB is 3 years old and if the screen gives up the ghost completely then I'm ready to buy a new laptop.

    Hello,
    We can use an exporting parameter like single character field like 'S' for success and 'E' for error instead of a message.
    Another option is you can use the Tables parameter and populate Return table with error or success message. Return table of type 'BAPIRET2'.
    Hope this might help you!

    Hello,
    Dont think you can use custom message classes in RFC's. Try using a generic message and check if the message is being populated.

  • IPhone 4 Flickering Display and Unresponsive Screen

    My iPhone 4's screen was not responding when I tried to swipe it or anything of that sorry - texts and notifications from internal apps kept coming in as they normally would however. After backing up the phone to my laptop, I manually shut it off using the power and home buttons, which was successful. I let it sit for a minute and then turned it back on, and upon looking at the screen noticed that the display is flickering just the tiniest bit (it's definitely enough to notice, though.) Any suggestions on how to remedy this?
    Saw in previous discussions the suggestions to turn off auto-brightness and the problem would be solved, however I already had the auto-brightness turned off when the flickering occurred.

    Hello Amelia,
    Thank you for providing so much detail about the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone's display. I found a couple of resources I recommend.
    First, for the issue you are experiencing with the touchscreen response, I recommend following the steps in this article:

  • Flickering display, aluminum clamshell, trackpad issues

    Our display flickers on one side and has multicolored vertical bars running down the left side at best, or the whole screen greys out over the top of the graphical display, is physically no longer fully attached on that side near the hinge (you can press it down quite a bit after it has been closed), and the aluminum clamshell seems like it's warped.  The bottom access panel has become no longer a smooth fit - it sticks up a few millimeters at the gap instead of being flat. We used to be able to hold the back left side and the screen would work, now we have been sitting it on a wooden structure with a back support and pushing it against that so we can see the screen for the past year or two.  Now the flickering vertical bars are getting worse and the wooden support doesn't always work, and as an added bonus, the trackpad recently stopped working (it no longer 'clicks' and acts like it's constantly pressed down, so we have to use an external mouse with it).  It's pretty frustrating because we've babied this thing (it's never been dropped or abused and has only left the house like twice, and one of those times was to take it in to see about this very problem!) and it seems like it's a manufacturing defect, but of course we never had AppleCare and this powerful expensive beast is now a desktop computer with a super hard to see screen.  I've been told we need to pay $400 to get a whole new clamshell.  Not happy.

    You really should take your battery out, it sounds like it is bloated !!!!!!
    I have the same computer as your's but never experienced any warping in the hinge area. There are do it yourself ways on replacing your screen which may be more cost effective but time consuming. You have the option of just leaving it always in clamshell mode and getting an external monitor.
    But since your computer is just like mine, I would assume that your battery gets bloated just like mine, and if you've never replaced it in the four years it's been around then you most definitely have one. Be very careful with it. Call your local apple store to see if they have a battery recycling plan. Don't just throw it out.
    Since you've stated that you mainly use your computer as a desktop device, I might suggest that you just don't use the battery or get a replacement, rather you should just plug it in, sans battery, and literally use it as a desktop.
    You'll also find replacing/taking out the battery will fix your trackpad issue.
    Sorry to hear that you've been having such bad luck with your machine. I've successfully frankensteined mine to keep me going for a couple more years! *knocks on wood*

  • Report with BDC not displaying success message when run in Background

    I am running a  BDC report in Background mode.The below statement  is not capturing the Success message when a document is posted.But when I am running the same in ForeGround mode it is capturing and is displayed in the output.Can anyone please help me in understanding why this is happening and how can I resolve this.
    CALL TRANSACTION 'MB1C' USING bdcdata MODE mode UPDATE 'S'
         MESSAGES INTO messtab.

    Hi Madhu,
    I think your BDC didnt generated any document when you run it in 'N' screen mode.
    Debug your program when you run it in background
    Goto Tcode :SM37
    Select the job ( march checkbox )
    ==> in command prompt enter 'JDBG'
    ==> Then you can start reexecting the job .
    You can check the sucess messages accordingly in debug mode
    Also add a read statement on messtab for msgtype = 'S'.

  • How to display success message when data is changed in the custom tab in MM

    Hi,
    I have added a new custom data tab in the MM01/MM02/MM03 transactions. Whenever I do changes to fields in the custom tab in MM02 transaction, and no changes in the standard tabs, I will get a message stating "No Changes Made".
    But if I do changes in the standard tabs, it works as usual with display of message "Changes to particular material has been done.
    Please let me know, if anyone of you know, how to display the success message if the changes to the custom tab is done.
    Thanks in advance,
    sudhanva

    Hi Sudhanva,
    The exit EXIT_SAPLMGMU_0001 is a function exit that you can use for custom validation but not to add custom tab/screen.
    But the message issued by SAP is not related to this Function Exit.
    If you have used a Screen Exit, then there must be some Function Exits also in the same Enhancement using which you can assign the value of custom fields to/from the standard structure. Thus when the value of any custom field is changed the system can understand that the some changes have been changed and will  not issue the message.
    In case you have used a BADI, there can be other methods in the BADi using whcih you can assign the value of custom fields to/from the standard structure. This might also prevent the message from being displayed.
    I could try giving you further details if you can provide the name of the Enhancement/BADi that you used to add the additional tab.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Abhisek.

  • How to display Success Message in PDF

    Hello all
    I need to display a success messgae in ODF. but without he message box.
    It should be such that, after the success, the user should not click yet see the success message.
    I got only MEssageBox. But that gives a pop up.
    Please let me know about other methods.
    Regards,
    Aditya Deshpande

    If you are using Web Dynpro then you can make use of the MessageArea control and display the messages there.
    Alternatively if you want to achieve this in Adobe itself then probably you will need to play with a text field and hide / unhide depending upon your execution.
    High level steps would be:-
    1. Create a TextField / TextArea element and bind it to the success node in your form. Initially you need to hide it.
    2. Upon submission, when the execution is complete then unhide it and show the message displayed the response you receive.
    PS: You will need this to be an Interactive Form for this to work.

  • Pink flickering display problem

    Hoping someone might be able to help. The screen on my Powerbook G4 15" 1.5Ghz (OS X 10.4.11) is a dark pink (almost black) and flickers. You can still just see the desktop and icons but only very faintly. Originally, it went pink only on start-up (or when the screen woke from sleep) when it would gradually 'warm up' to white. I now can only use it in clamshell mode with a Studio Display which doesn't have the pink problem . From reading other posts, I gather that this seems to suggest that there isn't a problem with the logic board, but maybe the backlight has gone, or a cable, or the inverter needs replacing. Has anyone had the same problem, and if so was one of these that was the problem, and were you able to fix it? I've looked at various online diy repair tutorials and reckon I could handle most of them, but I'd like to be as sure as possible that I'm replacing the rigt parts before undertaking the project. Any suggestions gratefully received.

    Peter: I'm sure I wrote a reply to your post the day it first appeared here, but I guess I must have hit the Back button instead of the Post button after composing it. Sorry!
    The fact that an external display works fine for you indicates definitively, as you've guessed, that your logic board (including the GPU) is working properly. The problem is with your display backlight. An old, tired fluorescent backlight tube is typically pink or reddish until it warms up, and a very old one may stay pink or reddish all the time. If your backlight is flickering, it may never warm up properly, so that may explain its continued pinkness. The flickering may be caused by a failing inverter (which supplies power to the backlight) or by a damaged backlight cable (damage can be caused by chafing where the cable passes through the display hinge) or, much less likely, by a failing backlight tube. In your shoes, I would begin by replacing the inverter to see whether that eliminates the flickering. Replacing either the cable or the backlight tube is much more involved, and I don't recommend those as DIY procedures.
    Sarah: You haven't told us how your display is misbehaving, so I don't know whether or not my advice to Peter is on target for you too. Exactly what are you seeing on your built-in display, and what do you see when you connect an external display?

  • Wicked bad Flickering Display in 2009 MacBook

    On Memorial weekend of this year (2014) I went through airport security with my computer.  I've done this before, but when I got to my destination and turned my computer on the flickering and weird flickering stripes on the left side were there.  I did not drop it or do anything else that I can think of that would have damaged it.  Oh yeah, I have a MacBook 2009.  I don't know about any other specs and since I can't see my apple menu icon thingy I can't tell you more.  I started to check out buying a new monitor (my husband did this for his Dell) and then I began to wonder if it is the monitor or maybe something else, something internal.  I am obviously not a computer savvy person.  I need to do something quickly (finally) so I can display photos for a special occasion.  Any thoughts?
    Thank you!!

    You could contact an Apple Store with Genius bar for a diagnostic test to see what

  • How to display Success Message on the Left side of Screen

    I am displaying a Process Success Message after the ApplyMRU process, *#MRU_COUNT# row(s) updated*. By default, this message is displayed at the center of the screen. I would like to display this message at the left hand side of the screen.
    I am using APEX 4.0; Theme Sand - 10. I have tried changing the alignment for the success message position in the Page Template – One Level Tabs, HTML Body section. But I am not having any luck.
    Does anyone know how to change/override the default position for the success message?
    Thanks

    Andy,
    I tried what you suggested and the success message is still being displayed in the center of the page.
    I went to Template --> Page --> One Level Tabs. In the Header, I put the following lines before the </head>
    <style type="text/css">
    .t10messages {text-align:left;}
    </style>
    </head>
    <body #ONLOAD#>
    #FORM_OPEN#
    I do not have any other custom CSS. Just strictly using Theme 10 - Sand
    Any ideas on what else could be the reason?
    Thanks,
    DP
    Sorry for the delayed response - out for holidays.

  • Vertical stripes

    My PowerBook G4 has an odd display problem that I'm pretty sure is an OS X issue, not a hardware issue: groups of vertical lines on the display. The lines are one-pixel wide and show up in a consistent pattern, not at random. I get a vertical stripe
