Flickering in WD Abap iviews

Hi all,
I have created WD Abap iviews on Portal (EP 7.0). These iviews are behaving weirdly.
Initially they were working fine, however they have suddenly started flickering.
The application does not load when i open the iview, infact it simple keeps flickering.
Any solution to this?

WebDynPro ABAP iView Flickering

Hello Everyone,
This one is weird. I have WebDynPro ABAP iViews created in the portal which rendered fine. But suddenly, the iViews started behaving weirdly - they started flickering, as though the iView is being refreshed again and again so the display never finishes rendering anything. If I put on my headphones, I can hear the tap sound which you hear when you hit "Refresh/F5" on IE. This means for some reason, the iView is automatically refreshed and I don't know why.
If I go to the WebDynPro App URL directly, everything seems to work fine. Also, I created a fresh new iView just to see if my old iViews are messed up, but the new one also flickers.
Did anyone see this? Any suggestions what could have gone wrong between the Portal and the WD app?

We wondered if the iView started falling apart after some strange logic was added to our WebDynPro ABAP code, so to test this we created a very simple app just displaying a 'hello' message. Even this app fails when an iVIew is created and previewed. The app works fine run directly on se80.
There should be some thing wrong with the portal itself.

Issue in calling WebDynpro ABAP iView in UWL

Hi,
We have configured UWL to our ECC system successfully.
In our UWL for a task TS90105432, when the users click on work item in their UWL Inbox, initially UWL launches a standard page in new window. On this page users can see a link u201CNote for Approval Processu201D, when they have to click on this link a web dynpro page needs to launch in new window. But when users click on Note for Approval Process link no action has been triggering / taken place and no error message.
Actually we have created a web dynpro ABAP iView for the TS90105432 - Note for Approval Process in Portal.
Through content admin we can see the preview of Note for Approval Process WDABAP iView. But the problem is not able to call this iView when the users click on Note for Approval Process in UWL.
Shall we need to set any Visualization parameters in SWFVISU? Can you please share your iViews on how we can call this WDABAP iView in UWL

There are plenty of instructions & discussions about how to launch Web Dynpro ABAP applications from UWL. Just do some searching.
For example you could start with this document:

Webdyn pro ABAP iview is not opening in Internet

Hi All,
I Have one webdyn pro ABAP iview it's working fine in LAN. but same iview is not working in internet.
we are using https protocol in Internet and in LAN http protocol.
When clicks the Iview one alert message is populating and showing secure and non-secure message . when I clicks Yes and No its showing page not found error.
But is working in LAN using http protocol.
is it require any parametators need to be change?

Changed System property Web as protocol to Http.
Previously it is Https.

Problem hiding Tabs in Tabstrip of My Trips and Expenses WD ABAP iView

Hi,
My requirement is to hide the thet tabs ALL MY Trips,All my Travel REquest,All my travel Plans,Pending expense report from the tabstrip ALl my Expense report in Travel and Expense Application.
I have gone through the thread and the sap note mentioned in

My problem is tabs that has to be deleted /hidden does not present in the Development system, but exist in the QA or the prd system.
So how to implement the note when data is not present in the dev system and only exist in the QA/PRD system.

WebDynpro ABAP iView

Hello experts.. we are creating several iViews for our portal, all these iViews are from WebDynpro, some of them WebDynpro for Java and some others are WebDynpro for ABAP.
I have successfully created all the WebDynpro Java iViews.
Now I need to create the WD Abap iViews for the portal but I'm having some dificulties... first of all, I need the WD Abap iViews to connect the same way the Java ones.. this means the same user/password -WD Java uses- without asking for authentication... in Java we don't have that problem because the connection is handled by te JCo, but now I don't know how to set this up for their ABAP counterpart. Is it possible? to launch the WDA application without asking to logon, and to use in this case the same user we're using with the WD for Java -the one of the JCo-?
The other problem I'm having is when testing the WDA iView, so far I manually type username and password but I'm getting the following error.
Please check the protocol and host entries for system 'DESARROLLO_ECC'..
We're connecting to ECC 6.0, which parameters do I need to set up in order to get it right?
Any guidance or comments will be welcome.

Hi Valencia,
You will have to configure single sign on (SSO) between the portal system and the system on which you have hosted the WDA applications. This will remove the authentication issue.
w.r.t the error you facing...do check if the WDA system is reachable from the system where ur trying to access the application, when I say reachable try to ping the WDA system

WebDynPro ABAP iView not picking Portal Theme stylesheet

Hi,
We are facing issues in integrating the WebDynPro ABAP application in Portal . The WebDynPro ABAP iView is not picking the portal theme. It is picking its actual color.
We are in EP 6 SP 14.
Can anyone let me know what can be the reasons.

Hello,
for the web dynpro for abap application you can create a application configuration. To create the configuration
right click on the application -> create/Change Configuration -> and once you create the configuration, it will open up in browser and you can see 2 tabs structure and parameters
In parameters tab you will find an option Force Use of External StyleSheet check the box and save the configuration. Once done with this process.
Go to the iView Properties of the applications and set the application configuration name and it would take the Portal Theme.

Webdynpro for ABAP iView personalization not sticking?

We are currently on EP7 and are having a very odd issue with ABAP Webdynpro iView personalization.
For our Java Webdynpro iViews, we have used iView personalization quite a lot to change field labels, add text, change button text, etcc. all via portal content administration (ctrl+rightclick to make changes from iView preview). These changes would show as custom iView parameters settings on the Java Webdynpro iViews. Then we could put these iViews into our own portal packages and move them to other portals (QA, Production, etc).
However, this is not working quite right with our ABAP Webdynpro iViews. We personalized an iView on our DEV portal. The personalization changes showed just fine for all users (ie. changes to input field labels). However, no new parameter settings show for the iView for the personalization. Also, after packaging, exporting and then importing the iView into the other portals (like moving from DEV to QA), the personalization is gone. We had to manually recreate this on the QA system. However, we do NOT want to do this on the production portal of course nor do we want this to be the method/solution going forward.
So has anyone seen this? Is this some issue/difference between the ABAP and Java webdynpro iView templates?

If it is WebDynPro ABAP iview, if you do the personalization, then your personalization is persisted in ABAP stack. You need to transport it in ABAP i.e R/3 development system to R/3 Quality system. Transporting only iview is not enough.
Note : If you do the personalization for the ABAP iview, it will not be saved in the portal, it will be stored in the ABAP stack.

Calling transaction iview and coming back to abap iview

Hello all,
Is it possible to call a transaction iview from abap webdynpro application iview and come back to it after we are finishing running the transaction? I know I can use the navigate_absolute method to call the transaction iview but i want to know if we can come back to the original abap iview, which called this transaction iview.
resume suspend is not an option since they do not work in portal as per the sap help.

WD ABAP iview for Adobe Forms showing data of previous PERNR

Hi Experts,
We have developed adobe forms using HCM P&F functionality. We copied standard delivered WD ABAP Iview "Termination" multiple times for the use in developed forms. The Portal IDs are attached to the employee's IT 0105-Subtype 0001 Syname.
We added the parameters in iview:
Application Parameter: GET_PERNR=X&PERNR_MEM_ID=ESS01&Process=ZXXX_XXX_FORM
Problem:
The Portal id is assigned to PERNR in IT 0105 - Subtype 0001 correctly and when we execute the Form Service link is clicked on Portal it shows the correct default data in Adobe form.
But if we remove the Portal id from 1 PERNR and assigned to another PERNR then Adobe Form still shows the data from previous PERNR.
We are unable to figure out the problem as the new Portal id is attached correctly and other WD Java iviews are showing correct data for existing PERNR but only Adobe forms are showing data from old PERNR assignment.
Please advise.

We have already done a number of action to clear the cache such as:
- Set the 2 properties of the iview
a. Cache Level ---> None
b. Cache Validity Period --->-1
- Cleared Portal Run Time Cache
- Clear DB cache
- UME cache (In case you are changing users frequently )- System Administration -> System Configuration -> UME Configuration -> Support -> Invalidate cluster wide cache
- Clear the browser cache --> Most imp - Browser settings -> tools -> Internet Optionsu2026 -> Temporary Internet Files -> Delete Files.
The actions are already done but the problem is still there.
I read some blog on SAP INDX tabel which records the Portal IDs when user logged in and Iview Properties "PERNR_MEM_ID=ESS01" reads this table . I am not sure that if this is the problem.
Please help.

As I know Portal only has Webdynpro for java iview for leave request iview in the past.
but someone tell me SAP portal has delivered some new standard WebDynpro for ABAP iview.
I have a requirement to create a employee role for new Leave Request service created by WD ABAP . Under Content Provided by SAP in Content Administration, I couldn't find the iView assocated to the leave request except the Java one. Is there have any Employee Self-Service Web Dynpro ABAP workset ?

The business package for ESS based on Webdynpro for ABAP is available only for ECC 6.0 EHP5.
If you are on EHP5, you may choose to use this version of the BP.

Web Dynpro ABAP iView Namespace

Easy question here.....we are now developing some web dynpro abap at our company (all other web dynpro has been Java which I understand - ABAP was done by an abap developer).
We settting up the iView there is a required field "Namespace" . When I asked the developer what his namespace was I got a blank look. I've poked around in SE80 (again I'm no expert here I know Java not ABAP).
Would someone tell me how to guide this developer - what do we enter in the Namespace field when creating a Web Dynpro ABAP iView?

While previewing i am not getting any erros or even i m not expected output also,

what are the values you have given ??? namespace should be SAP.
ensure that your webdynpro ABAP application works fine. Goto se80-> select Web Dynpro Comp. /intf. and type in you webDynpro COMPONENT name here PRESS Enter key.
you need to know the webdynpro component that this Application is supposed to execute to test it in ABAP work bench.
