Flickering Observed when Mouse-Down in Mac OS

Hi There,
I created two swf's, A and B. A is a blank swf, totally. B
is has one button on it. Now neither of the swf's has code,
animation or any action in it. I open A and B separately in two
different Safari windows. When I keep the button on SWF B in
pressed state, the finger cursor flickers. Now if I close the
window with SWF A and try it again, the mouse hand cursor doesn't
flicker. Therefore this happens when two or more swf's are opened
in different browser windows.
Is this a bug? Can it be solved from the flash end? Or is
there any other way out of this?
P.S >> Im using Mac OS X 10.4.11 Intel

I've noticed this also on Safari only.  MovieClips with buttonMode set to true will make the mouse cursor flicker while in a MOUSE_DOWN state.

  • How build buttons that can be excuted once when mouse down, but recover to its original status when mouse up

Basically, I want to build several independent buttions. When one button gets the mouse down event, some code is excuted once, but when mouse up, the button go to its original status, and wait for the next click.,
this should be pretty simple in other languages (C++, or Java), anyway, I feel so hard to figure it out in Labview.

    Hi Grace Be,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The articles below may be able to help you with this.  I've summarized some of the key points below for you.  Click on the links to see more details and screenshots.
Mac OS X: Gray screen appears during startup
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570
Disconnect, test peripheral devices and network cables
Note: "Peripheral devices" refers to external devices other than what came with your Mac, such as hard drives, printers, or hubs that you connect via a USB or FireWire cable.
Shut down your Mac. If necessary, hold your Mac's power button for several seconds to force it to power down.
Disconnect all peripheral devices such as external hard drives or printers (leave only the display, a keyboard, and mouse connected).
    Disconnect any Ethernet cables.
    Start up your Mac.
If you can start up this way, one or more of your peripheral devices (or installed software related to the device) is probably causing the gray screen issue. Connect one device, then restart your Mac to test for the issue. Repeat the process until you locate the device at issue. Check with the manufacturer of the device for support or possible software driver or firmware updates that may be available for the device. Try a different cable with the device if possible (such as a different USB or FireWire cable).
If you are using a desktop Mac with a third-party keyboard and/or mouse device, and the issue still occurs, try starting up with an Apple keyboard and mouse connected instead. Try starting with no keyboard and mouse connected, then connect them after start up. Also, try a different USB port on your Mac.
If the gray screen issue persists with no devices connected, go to the next section (with the peripherals still disconnected).
    Perform a Safe Boot
Shut down your Mac. If necessary, hold your Mac's power button for several seconds to force it to power down.
Start your Mac, then immediately hold the Shift key. This performs a Safe Boot. Advanced tip: If you want to see the status of a Safe Boot as it progresses, you can hold Shift-Command-V during start up (instead of just Shift).
Note: A Safe Boot takes longer than a typical start up because it includes a disk check and other operations.
If your Mac starts up as expected, immediately try restarting.
If the Safe Boot does not work, or the restart after a successful Safe Boot does not work, go to the next section.
    Reset the NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac. If necessary, hold your Mac's power button for several seconds to force it to power down.
    Reset the NVRAM / PRAM.
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!
    - Judy

  • Can i create mcx for shut down properly mac when battery is less 5 %

    Hi hello
Can i create mcx for shut down properly mac when battery is less 5 % ?
    Thanks for your reply

You can create a mailing list by using the "Groups" feature of Address Book. Simply select "New Group" from the File menu. Name the group, and drag the contacts you need into the group.
In Mail, open up Preferences (under the Mail menu), and click on "Composing". Then make sure that "When sending to a group, show all member addresses" is unchecked.
The auto reply is a feature that is better done on your mail server, as you Mac can only send an auto reply when it is on, with the Mail application open. If you use dot Mac, you can set up a vacation responder through the web, and you can leave your computer switched off.
If you really want to leave your Mac on when you are on holiday, you can set up a mail rule (Preferences, Rules).

  • When I shut down the Mac Pro, it restarts

Has anyone run into this issue with their Mac Pro? When I shut down the computer (either via the Ctrl + Option + Cmd + Eject or the Shut Down command from the Apple menu drop down), the Mac Pro will simply restart and take me back to my log-in screen.
At this point, I can hit the shut down button on the login window and it will shutdown, but this is annoying, a waste of time, and unnecessary.
I have tried performing an SMC reset, but it has not resolved this issue.
    Specs: Mac Pro (2010)
    3.33 GHz 6-Core
    (2) 2TB Internal HDD
    12GB ram
    ATI 5870 graphics card (1GB)

I have noticed the exact same behaviour. It only happens when I have something plugged into one of the front USB ports (example : external HD, USB key)
Apparently the system crashes during the shut down process, and then reboots.
Unfortunately, I have not yet found a solution

The mouse is controlled by the OS so don't guess any app other than a mouse driver or OS X itself would be able to cause this sort of flicker issue.
Have you seen the following and is it what you are seeing? Maybe you could make a movie (Quicktime is great for this this to make a screen recording) - but not sure how to attach a movie to these discussions as mine is grayed out and can't be selected (to the right of the insert image). Here is the what I found for a search of "mouse cursor flickers os x yosemite"

What kind of mouse are you using? Is the mouse driver up to date if it's a third party mouse?

  • Sometimes when starting my iMac it shows a folder icon with a Question mark in it. Mac does not start up, only when shutting down and restart again solves it

Sometimes when starting up my iMac it shows only a folder icon with a question mark in it. Nothing happened. Only when start up again it runs ok.
What can be the cause of this.
    thanks for your help

That's an indication your Mac can't find a system folder to boot from.
Open System Preferences > Startup Disk
    Select:  MacintoshHD OS X
For OS X v10.4, v10.5, and v10.6 >    A flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac
Helps when you ask for help to tell us which Mac OS X is installed.
If you aren't certain, click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac.
    The version is noted there.

  • Kill the MouseEven.CLICK event when mouse is held down?

I have been studying games on Facebook and am trying to emulate mouse event handling. For example in ChefVille you can click on objects and drag them around. But if you hold the mouse down you pan the entire game environment and when you release the mouse button a click is NOT registered on the object below the mouse. In my tinkering the CLICK event is triggered on the release of the mouse button no matter how long I keep the button depressed. How do I keep the CLICK event from firing if the mouse is held down for some period of time?

I don't know that you can cancel a CLICK event in the middle of it happening (CLICK = MOUSE_DOWN followed by MOUSE_UP), but you can trigger a Timer on the MOUSE_DOWN event and use its event handler to set a boolean variable that your CLICK event handler function can make use of to decide whether or not to process a CLICK event.

    Hey rudreshchoubey,
Thanks for the question. The following resource may help to resolve your issue:
Boot Camp Installation & Setup Guide
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1636/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_ 10.8.pdf
    If Windows doesn’t install properly
Verify that you’re using an original, full version of the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8, or Windows 8 Pro.
Restart your Mac and hold down the Option key until one or more disk icons appear on your screen. Insert the Windows installation disc into the optical drive or insert the USB flash drive with Windows into a USB port on your Mac. Select the Windows installation disk icon, then click the arrow beneath it. Quickly press any key on your keyboard to start the installer. Follow the onscreen instructions to repair or reinstall Windows.

I believe you've posted this multiple times. Once is all that's needed. Also, please don't use all caps. Aside from the fact it means you're shouting it's also harder to read than mixed case.
The error means a bad fan motor or the HDD has failed. In your case it's the latter.  You can try the following:
    Drive Preparation
    1.  Boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
When formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Complete the OS X installation.

If you keep getting a 'red' message it means that the HDD is faulty and will have to be replaced.  You will have to format the new HDD in Disk Utility>Erase and then install the OSX and your data from Time Machine.
    Ciao.

  • Wifi gets down, when connect to my MAC

When I connect my MAC to my wifi's home... the wifi connection gets down...(the network appears and disappears in all of the devices that are already online)... I must restar at least 2 times the MAC to get connected.

I'm suddenly having a similar problem: I'm running Mac OS 10.7.3, iTunes 10.5.3 and iOS 5.0.1. When I plug in my iPhone, system.log reports:
    Feb 18 16:29:51 lianaslaptop com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.usbmuxd[685]): posix_spawn("/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework/Versions/ A/Resources/usbmuxd", ...): No such file or directory

Feb 18 16:29:51 lianaslaptop com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.usbmuxd): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
When I go to that location, sure enough - there is no usbmuxd. I haven't been messing with my system, I've never poked around in places like this!
