Flickering of safari pages

When I have multiple safari pages open on my iPhone 5s and try to open one (bring one to the front for using) the specific page while opening it does a  flickering on the sites of the page, anyone has the same issue/problem? How to resolve it? A software issue? Not really disturbing but still an issue, is it only on pages that don't have mobile site?

I have this problem too... in fact I got my device replaced due to this problem since Apple couldnt resolve it and the replacement piece has the same problem and another one as well.
Its extremely annoying.

  • Where to set up a notice message before we close a  safari page

    Hi Safari Experts,
Just a question. usually when we click the close button on safari pages. Its actually will automatically pop up a message to user to ensure that is that user really want to close the page.  May I know how can I enable this feature back. I loves this feature so much.
    I using Version 5.1 (7534.48.3)
I had lost this feature once I upgrade my OS into Lion.
    Thanks,

I know the option to set it up is on the My Verizon App on my iPad, but I sure can not find the option on the MyVerizon site.

  • How do I keep more than one safari page open at the same time?

New to Mac.  I'm used to being able to have several applications open at the same time, and able to check emails, eBay, camera for downloading photos, etc., but when trying this on Mac, I can't seem to figure out how to swing from email to something else....oh, it opens up eBay and other pages, but not where I left it...I have to keep starting from the beginning...name, password, etc.   I can't have 3, 4 or 5 safari pages open at the same time??  This is making my life cumbersome, and running back to the basement office and using my dying Dell desktop where life was a bit simpler.  Sometimes I need to copy a few paragraphs on one website into another....and its taking me way too long to get this done.  I know there's a way of doing this on Mac....

    Hi Suzkas,
I was new to mac a short time ago and I had frustrations in the learning curve especially as I was so used to working with PC.
If you look at the top left of the screen you will see the words SAFARI next to the apple logo. if not then either open safari or click on the window and the mac will then show safari at the top. If you now click on FILE you can select NEW WINDOW or NEW TAB as you wish. I often use new tab and switch between them. If you go to VIEW and select CUSTOMISE TOOLBAR you can drag an icon to the top of the safari window and you won't have to keep going to the menu to add a new tab. I will sometimes select new window to keep something separate from my other work.
If you close down a window you will often lose your place, but using the tab system you will leave the window active unless you select the cross to terminate. If you have a separate window open you can select the orange blob (between the red and green at the top) and the window will slide down to the dock and stay there, active, for you to return and continue.
Hope this help, stay with it, go see the instore staff and pretty soon you wont look back
PS I have PARALLELLS6 running with a copy of windows 7 on my mac. This means that I can switch to microsoft if I want to. However, with office for mac installed I rarely need to now, the only time I ever open windows is for an application that has no mac version.

  • Everytime I open Safari on my MacBook Pro a pop-up window from my Finder menu, with the Applications highlighted on the left in the favorites column with the Resources folder highlighted comes up and locks my Safari page until I manually close the Resourc

Everytime I open Safari on my MacBook Pro a pop-up window from my Finder menu, with the Applications highlighted on the left in the favorites column with the Resources folder highlighted comes up and locks my Safari page until I manually close the Resources window then I have to refresh the internet search address line at the top of Safari. Can someone tell me how to stop this. It started after a software upgrade. It didn’t do that before. Thank you.

A few thoughts for diagnosis/testing purposes:
Have you recently run the disk utility and repaired HD and permissions? If not do so.
Boot into the Safe mode - hold down shift key on boot - and see if the problems are still there. Some functions won't work but see if anything odd happens.
Check your startup items. Get rid of them temporarily.
Create a new user account and see if the problems occur with the new account.
Lastly, be sure your backup is up-to-date.

  • Mac - how do I assign safari pages to a space

I work on several projects in Google AdWords. I would like to assign each project to a specific space so that when I reboot (I like to shutdown every night) I will find my mac in roughly the same arrangement as the night before. I know how to assign apps to spaces , although I find this doesn't always work, so that is not purely the solution. When I work on a specific Google AdWords project, I might have several Safari pages open along with specific Word and Excel docs, and Adwords Editor. When I reboot in the am, I find that all Safari pages have opened the night before  are now in the space assigned to Safari and I have to go through the cumbersome time-consuming business or reassigning docs or Safari pages to a vacant space in order to better see and concentrate on just the project on which I want to work. There must be an App for That! Please help me find it.
    Thanks ahead,
    gerry

Wonder if there are any project management, window management apps that might address this issue. I think I've seen some but don't recall names.

  • Can't log in on a safari page

I need to log in on a Safari page but cannot even enter my username or password. What's up?

I'm not sure that another browser will solve your problem. For instance, I use the iCab browser and when Apple changed this support site, I could not input text into the text field just like you described. It was frustrating. iCab updated the browser shortly after Apple changed the site and now I can input text into the text field on this discussion site.
iCab has a feature (like some other browsers) where it can identify itself as another browser. I can't remember the name of this feature - user agent I think it's called - but you can choose from a number of other browsers - Safari being one of them. The irony here is that I had to identify the iCab browser as Safari in order to get it to do what I needed it to do on this site!
Yes ... the iPad made simple. good luck with the book! Post back after you read it!

  • Is there a way to view Internet history if it has been cleared for the safari page on an iPad 2?

Is there a way to view internet history on an ipad2 after it has been cleared from the safari page?

If you had backed up your iPad prior to deleting the Safari history, that history should be in the last backup.
This is what is contained in the iPad backups - copied from Apples support site.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4079
    Information iTunes will back up
Safari bookmarks, cookies, history, and currently open pages.
Map bookmarks, recent searches, and the current location displayed in Maps.
    Application settings, preferences, and data.
    Contacts.
    Calendars.
    CalDAV and subscribed calendar accounts.
    YouTube favorites.
    Wallpapers.
    Notes.
    Mail accounts.
    Autocorrect dictionaries.
    Camera Roll.
Home screen layout and web clips.
Network settings (saved Wi-Fi hotspots, VPN settings, network preferences).
Paired Bluetooth devices (which can only be used if restored to the same iPad that did the backup).
Keychain (This includes email account passwords, Wi-Fi passwords, and passwords you enter into websites and some other applications. The keychain can only be restored from backup to the same iPad. If you are restoring to a new device, you will need to fill in these passwords again.)
    Managed Configurations/Profiles.
MobileMe and Microsoft Exchange account configurations.
App Store Application data (except the Application itself, its tmp and Caches folder).
Per-app preferences allowing use of location services.
    Offline web application cache/database.
    Autofill for webpages.
Trusted hosts that have certificates that cannot be verified.
Websites approved to get the location of the device.
    In-app purchases
You should be able to restore your iPad from the backup to restore Safari's history.

    Help, please.

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I have a mac book air. Have had no issues with any virus before but today my safari page keeps directing me to a page which says " cyber crime" posing to be by Cheshire Police AUthority uk metropolitan police.Tells me that I have 24 hours to pay a 100 pounds.Using my ipad I looked it up and it appears to be a very common virus.I am worried about my Mac(relieved at the same time that I am not a cyber criminal
!) so anyway what should I do.I tried to fonce quit and then open safari but only that page keeps opening up.Looking up online their was a suggestion to reset safari, but I am unable to click on the reset safari tab as the pop up for stay on page keeps coming up.i have switched off my lap top now.But am really worried. How can I get rid of it?

It's not a virus. It's a JavaScript scam that only affects your web browser, and only temporarily.
Some of those scam pages can be dismissed very easily. Press command-W to close the tab or window. A huge box will pop up. Press the return key and both the box and the page will close. If that doesn't happen, continue.
From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and uncheck the box marked Enable JavaScript. Leave the preferences dialog open.
Close the malicious window or tab.
Re-enable JavaScript and close the preferences dialog.
If the Preferences menu item is grayed out, quit Safari. Force quit if necessary. Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. From the menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.

I sent in my iPhone 6 for repair. I used restore on the loaner phone I was given, and the contacts, texts, reminders, and Safari pages all showed up. My phone is back, and when I used the restore function again, those items are missing. I do not use iCloud because I have no wifi at home, limited data available for regularly backing up, and I have a 64GB phone and don't wish to pay to upgrade from the 5GB iCloud storage. Am I doing something wrong? It worked so seamlessly on my loaner phone that I am completely stumped as to why it will not restore those items to my original phone again.

The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer or cloud service.  Your contacts should be in whatever program/service you have chosen to sync.
If you have failed to do this, then they are likely gone.

  • In Lion, Safari pages hang in full screen mode.  If you exit full screen mode, the next page you intended to view appears.

In Lion, Safari pages hang in full screen mode.  If you exit full screen mode, the next page you intended to view appears.
This happens nearly every time I use Safari.  I will be clicking on links, when it appears to hang.  By exiting full screen mode, upon minimizing the next page I was intending to view appears.  This does not happen on all websites, but many that I visit.

Here's a stupid question, but I'm sure I'm not the only one - how exactly DO you minimize the safari fullscreen mode??  I keep reading about orange or yellow tabs which don't exist, at least on my 27 iMac. Control m doesn't work either. I wish Apple would have a basic 3 or 4 page instruction manual on this. Unless there are major bugs still.  By the way, this is only one of many problems I'm having with Safari.  Occasionally the tool bar just dissappears. And, don't get me started about how the dock in Lion simply stopped accepting some icons, including Firefox. None of these problems happened when I first installed Lion. Each upgrade seems to have more bugs, not less.

  • Safari Page reloading when Open in new tab WHY ???

I am really annoyed as when i am browsing on iphone on safari and open web pages in new pages and when i go back to the previous page it started downloading that page again and this is really frustrating..Plz help..is there any setting i have to make for it so that it will not happen any more...Also when i use Opera browser on iPhone this thing never happen..But since i dont like the interface of Opera so i cant use that ..Help plz..

Most likely it is due to a memory issue. The iPhone automatically clears memory if it is running low and it will clear stored Safari pages. If you have a newer device you may want to clear your multitasking bar, as the "suspended" apps might be using a lot of your memory.
It doesn't happen as frequently with Opera since the webpages are highly compressed and take up less memory.

  • Every time I open a new Safari page, it loads the one(s) that are already open, instead of taking me to a new start page.

Every time I open a new Safari page on my MacBook Pro, it load the one(s) that are already open, instead of a new page. it's 8.0.2.  I already went to Preferences and it says new page will open to Favorites....but it doesn't.

    Hello beany1818,
Also check in Safari Preferences and look in the Safari Opens with and make sure that it is set to “with a new window” and not “all the windows from your last session”. Take a look at the article for more information.

  • Safari Page Won't Load When Connected to Plasma TV as Monitor

I am a new Mac user and was hoping someone could help me with this issue. I have a MacBook Pro 13" laptop running Mac OS X (10.6.2) and the latest version of Safari (4.0.4) and when I connect it to my Plasma TV using the displayport to DVI adaptor, Safari pages never load. It just shows loading and finally gives an error stating that the server can't be found. If I immediately unplug the external display and reload the page, it loads fine. All other applications function and display fine. The resolution of the monitor is 1024 x 768. I have also connected the laptop to my HP 20" monitor using the same connection and everything works fine. Its resolution is 1280 x 800. My ISP is Comcast and it is being delivered using a linksys wireless router. Does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening or what I am doing wrong? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello, SockMonkeyGirl.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are unable to use your internet based applications when connected to the Comcast network only.  I would recommend making sure that this Comcast network settings are updated to the recommend as outlined below.  Also make sure that all firewalls are disabled as well.
