Flickr iPad friendly? Really?

Even though apple lists Flickr as being an iPad friendly html5 site, I still get prompted to install flash player for slideshows. I cleared cache and cookies and logged back in but still no luck.
Anyone get flickr slideshows to work on the iPad?

Tap on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Store if it's on iOS 6) and logout of your account, and then do Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings

New iPad running really hot

After getting my new iPad set up the way I want it I noticed that it runs really hot; never experienced anything like this with iPad 2. Has anyone else had this problem? Its hot enough that I am concerned.

I would be concerned. Some types of batteries have been recalled in the past because they start fires!
The most obvious problem is that a hot iPad suggests the battery will run down quickly. Do you have enough experience to determine how long a full charge will last? I would expect it to be similar to the iPads 1 & 2, which is about ten yours. Someone mentioned that their iPad charge went down ten percent per hour.
I suggest you show your iPad to an Apple Store Genius. If the Genius agrees, you may get a replacement iPad.
If there is no Apple Store near you, look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center. There may be one in your city. <Apple Authorized Repair Centers>

How do you announce flickr to friends?

I want friends to look at my pictures on Flickr. I'd like to give simple instructions since the Flickr page is very busy and confusing.

Well, before doing anything i must tell you than you cannot have two or more mDNS servers in your system (avahi is one and mt-daapd has another one), so you must tell mt-daapd to not load its mDNS server appending "-m" to the binary line in the daemon (/etc/rc.d/mt-daapd). There is another solution to this. If avahi-daemon runs first in your rc.conf you can configure it so when another program tries to registers its mDNS server avahi disallows it (disallow-other-stacks=yes in avahi-daemon.conf).
The second thing you must know is to add this to a file (for example, daap.service) in /etc/avahi/services:

Ipad 3 really really hot after charging

it was scolding it almost burnt me and it didt even charge i have had it for a year it never did it i use the cube it came with to charge it

I actually have this problem with an old iPad. I have used it for over 3 years, and in the last few weeks, both my wife's iPad and mine have started getting very hot during extended use. I don't see anything in the discussion, but is this a function of IOS 8.0.2, rather than dependent on the iPad? I cannot say for sure we noticed it right at the time we did the OS upgrade, but it seems like it was about that time. Just to be really clear, the heating is recent behavior. It did not happen for the first 3 years we had our ipads. Now they get so hot we cannot keep using them on our laps after 20-30 minutes. And is is not the weather or ambient temperature. It happens when it is 65 F. Have not been able to find out why, or how to limit whatever processes are generating the extra heat.
also, battery life got shorter. Probably because so much energy is turning into heat.

Everytime I turn on Airplay on my iPad the screen goes black and iPad gets really laggy?

It was working fine for about 20 minutes but now when I turn it on I just get a black screen and my iPad lags ridiculous amounts. I've reset Apple TV and the iPad but it's still happening. Any one else experienced this? Or have any solutions?

I've seen a few similar complaints here. I suggest you try resetting (rebooting) the iPad. Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes. Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.
If this doesn't help, your iPad may be defective. If it is still in warranty (1 year), show it to an Apple Store Genius and you may get a new iPad on the spot.
If it is out of warranty or there is no Apple Store near you, look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center. There may be one in your city. In the US, <United States>. Outside the US, <International>

Video compatibility on iPad 2 and online sites, who is iPad friendly?

Does anyone knownof a list of web sites that post iPad compatible videos? Are there sites that are at least trying to work with apples video restrictions? Please advise. And thanks.

I very much doubt if there is such a list. A number of sites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store - have you looked to see if any of your favourites have apps ?

This may seem basic, but I just discovered that I do not have a share button (the thing with the little arrow popping out) to the left of my address bar on my Mac. I do have one on my IPad and really like it. Why don't I have this on my Mac?

This is a great question to ask before selecting friends or family pickup as an option on an order! To clarify, per our Store Pickup page on BestBuy.com, a friend or family member would only need to present an ID and the order number. Only you - or the person designated for pickup on the order - may pick up your items. With that said, please keep in mind that some items, such as contract mobile phones, must have the contract holder present at pickup.

Can I pay with a credit card by phone from Miami for friend in Spokane WA to pick up? Friend has WA State ID. Does friend need my physical credit card for in store pick up?

If the friend is listed under friends and family pickup they will not need the credit card but they will certainly still require an ID.
Yes you can place an order for pickup in another state, I have done it before for other customers just be sure to have your friend listed in the friends and family pick-up

Is the iPAD 3G really locked to AT&T & can I use a US 3G iPAD in EU?

I will leave the US in May to move back to my home country, the UK. I would like to buy an iPAD 3G from the US before I leave since I had heard it was not locked to AT&T & I could simply replace the AT&T micro sim card with a micro sim card from one of the EU iPAD 3G providers (such as Orange). Is this true & should I buy in the US. An Apple store worker told me that the US iPAD 3G will be locked to AT&T & therefore I should buy it in the UK when released. There seems to be much confusion on whether the iPAD is truly locked to AT&T or not. Thanks for any help or clarification here.

The iPad is NOT locked to AT&T. It uses the bands that AT&T uses so it is effectively locked to AT&T in the US. You can get a microsim from another country and use the iPad there with no issues (once they support the iPad that is).

Friend(really) just erased & trashed iTunes database....

I just received a panic email from a friend who said she just erased & trashed her entire iTunes database.
Is there something on her Mac(Intel iBook OSX10.4.10)that she can use to recover it; or even a software program she has or can get?

Have her open a Finder window. In the Sidebar on the left, tell her to click Music. With any luck at all, her iTunes library should be in there.
And ...
From the File menu, choose Find (if using Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, you can alternatively click the Spotlight menu).
Type either .m4p or .m4v or .ipg as the search term.
Click Search (Spotlight automatically searches as you type, and does not have a Search button).
If you see the files you are looking for in the Search Results window, you can add them back into your iTunes library.
Check your Recycle Bin/Trash
Another place to look for wayward music files is in your Recycle Bin (Windows) or the Trash (Mac). Don't ask. Sometimes things happen and files wind up there. We've all done it and couldn't even begin to guess how. If you find any, just move them from the Recycle Bin or Trash, and add them back to iTunes.
If you don't allow iTunes to automatically organize your music or make copies of songs and videos to the iTunes folder (such as if you use a customized file structure), you may need to rebuild the structure before adding the files back. Can the iPad 1 really only handle 3 audio tracks?

Whenever I put in more than 3 tracks in GarageBand, it instantly crashes. Is the measly 256 MB of RAM for the iPad 1 only enough to pull 3 audio tracks? I can sometimes add a 4th track, but as soon as I mess around with any kind of settings it crashes.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Then restart your iPad. Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Hello iPad friends I need some help concerning connection to WiFi. My iPad mini won't pick up on any WiFi and I have tried resetting both the iPad and WiFi settings to no avail. Also, even inputting the name manually won't work. Help?!

So yeah basically my iPad won't pick up on WiFi networks and I am wondering if there is a remedy to this. Thanks :)

The easy things first. Tap wifi in settings. Is wifi turned on, can you see your wifi in choose a network, do you have airplane mode turned on, is it just your wifi router or all wifi signals, if you go to a public site can you see their network? Have you tried a reset.? If your still having problems, take your mini to the Apple Store and let them show you how. If they can't connect to their signal ask them for further suggestions

IPad is really lagging and slow to respond

Since I updated to the OS7.2 my iPad is so slow to respond to touching and swiping. Is anyone else having the problem?
