Flickr on N97

Why isn't Flickr available on share online in some countries?
I'm from Romania and when i update my services on share online, i only get Ovi and Vox... Why don't you people (and by you people i mean NOKIA) add services that users really use, like... Picasa, Facebook, Twitter & (as i said in the title) FLICKR FOR EVERYONE?

I didn't know that such a popular application was not included in some countries! One of the reason of why I got rid of my HTC Tilt 2 and got the N97 is because of the great integration of pictures and Flickr. I am in the USA and the application works great. Uploads are direct and fast with the push of the "share" icon. I hope they offer this to you soon! I have not check, but is there an app that might work for you?
What is also disappointing is that the integrated app for Flickr does not work with videos; only with pictures, which is aggravating.

  • N97 - Share Online to Flickr - Multiplying copies ...

I've always used the Share Online function to upload photos to my Flickr account and it's worked fine until recently, now for no apparent reason it uploads multiple copies of the same image, which means I have to spend ages deleting all these copies from my Flickr account. The Share Online says the uploads are failing when they are not, so just keep duplicating the upload. Please help?
I've seen several people having the same problem on the Flickr forum but Flickr say that there's nothing they can do as it's a 3rd party app provided by Nokia, hence me posting here.
    Thanks.

  • N97 mini Share Online Flickr upload bug

While trying to upload picture made with highest quality (5M) there is an error message telling that picture has unsupported file format and rejected by service. Pictures made with average quality (2M) are uploaded very well. This issue is never mentioned in any manuals...

  • Upload all my photos to N97

I'm not having any luck copying all my old N80, N95 photos to my N97 and having the show up on the phone. They were all saved on my PC and MAC, now that it has a bunch of memory I want to keep them on the phone and not delete them.
How can I copy my old photos to my N97 and have them show up in the PHOTOS applicaiton?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Copy them to the IMAGES folder. Then open the photos application and wait for them to be found. Depending on the number of pictures it could take several minutes for the phone to find and create thumbnails for a large number of pictures.
Also try to put less than 1000 pictures per folder. So create subfolders in Images,
In general these devices are not meant to be carrying large quantities of photos. The software to manage the photos (Photos) is not very clever sometimes when you have large numbers of pictures. So I wouldn't recommend it. But try and share your results.
I would upload the pictures to a service and then use the N97 to access the service (like Flickr, Picassa, OVI Photos, Photobucket, etc.)

  • N97 - Unable to upload images to Facebook

Hi, I've been very happy with the recent v2 software update and had no problems so far (after the mess the previous firmware update left my phone in), my only problem is while using the facebook application I can no longer upload images from my phone to facebook.
It just hangs when I try to do it. I've seen a few threads about but never a solution that works for me. I've tried re-installing the facebook app from Ovi, but this didn't work either. Please can someone help! This is the main feature I use on my phone for saving and backing up my photo's remotely, and as it seems a common problem there must be a solution!
    Thanks.

This won't help fix your problem but a better way to upload pictures to Facebook (and other sites) is by using PixelPipe; http://pixelpipe.com/
It installs setting which use the Nokia upload online feature.  if you set it to default you just take a picture and hit the upload button and voila it will send the picture to PixelPipe then onto whatever sites you have registered.  You can also go into the N97 gallery, choose all the photos you want to upload and the do the same.  It supports routing into specific albums or destination but I've not used this much.  I have my PixelPipe configures to upload to Facebook, Flickr and Ovi all at one.
Again this won't fix your issue, which I think St3ph3n might have answered best anyhow but it's a much better way to get your photos onto Facebook.

  • Nokia Share Online - Flickr account has gone and w...

I tried to set up my Flickr account using the Share Online service on my Nokia N97. It kept failing to set up the account giving me Error 404. I deleted the service in the hope that it would reinstall correctly but now I can't retrieve the Flickr service at all and I don't want to use the Ovi site as it's rubbish.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Me too -- no Flickr...  I tried to 'update services' with the 'Share online' app, but only 'Ovi by Nokia' came up.  When I tried to config Ovi, it errored with a blank web page (http://www.)...  I wonder if this will be fixed?

  • N97 - more a rubber boat then a flagship

I just read some info about n97, i saw it has a terrible slow processor and again not an seperate GPU... What is nokia doing??
Havent they learned from the n96, who now after 3 firmware updates still hangs when 2 apps are demanding to much power... This is gonna be a terrible mistake!
On demo movie's on the official nokia site you can see if you look very closely that when a person start a program it skips several seconds in the movie, let people think the app starts instantly. but they just cut out a few seconds so no one will notice it. This thing is just to slow for the new firmware.
Before i had the n96, i had the n95. Man the n95 is fast! it has a seperate GPU and it has a better CPU. When you play a game like creatures of the deep. on the n96 and n95, you instantly notice that the n95 is far more faster then the n96. While i thought newer is better and faster! its not with nokia. newer means slower and more bugs.
The n97 has again more functions better visuals and more demanding programs. and yet still they equip it with only a CPU that is like 3 years old? and slower then the n95?
Nokia thinks "so what we are the number one selling phones in the world" Well if they not bring out a descent phone soon every one will run to other manufacturers like many allready did!
Well i know why they do it! the batteries they make are just not it! and the only thing they can do is reducing the power demand on CPU and other hardware resulting in lower preformance. Its time they ask other companies who CAN make batteries to do it for them. the battery has always been the bottleneck and it always will be if they dont change anything.
I looked forward to the n97 until all this popped up! it will be the same as for my n96 now. And Im getting tired of it

Games like prince of persia or very stuttering on the n96 and work perfect on the n95 because of a seperate GPU. that the n96 and the n97 dont have.
My current n96 is very bad, it just is! really! it hangs all the time. somtimes no background light or no response at all.
Its insane that they dont fix it before they bring it on the market! Now the latest firmware 20. is just a tiny little better. They test these machines over and over. you cant tell me they knew the n96 was very slow when they brought it on the market with lots of bugs. Why do they bring a product on the market that they now is not working correct?
And if the new firmware 5 is everything why isn't it available for the n96 with some tweaks?
I am a great fan of nokia as from my first nokia 3210 till the n70 it was great. the N95 had the same anoying problems that the n96 now has. it frustrates people to put out the battery at least once a day because the whole system freezes. And i agree that not everyone has these problems because there are also people who only make calls with it. but i use the phone max! every app that i can use is on this thing like Ngage, ebuddy, fsecure, hyves, google maps, 3 e-mail accounts, flickr, 600 songs mp3 on it, 4 full lenght movies, 500 photo's.
But i think a phone of this caliber needs to take this! and the n95 does but the n96 after a year still dont. Its freakin downgraded and so is the n97. you will notice it. and when you see it for yourself think of my words.
Ill stay with nokia i just love the interface and the open source. but i hope they will soon have something that actually works! They are getting behind.. they now gonna release a phone a iphone allready has and more! not to mention that apple probably allready finished their new phone again 10 times better then the n97. and we are still waiting for an outdated n97 wich features allready seen on many other phones.
I think they are losing it... maybe its time for some new people in charge there. i dont know.
I just keep hoping one day i can decently use my n96 without freezes, bugs and anyoing waiting times!

  • N97 Photo GPS Issue

I've been taking a lot of photos recently using the N97 and have also installed Nokia Image Space. However, photos i've taken are miles out when reviewing the map on Flickr - literally miles out and bear no resemblace to the position the original photo was taken.
I also use both Nokia Maps and Google Maps - the GPS functions perfectly when using these two apps - I even used Nokia Maps to drive round Portugal.
Has anyone experienced similar issues when taking photos and found them to be out of position?
    Regards

Hi, have not had this issue, but add location on Nokia communities app is quite accurate, so maybe its the fault of the app adding the location to the photos !
    Good Luck

  • How can I use more than one Facebook ID in Photos? (Plus, Flickr upload issues!)

I'm having problems with the new Photos and ability to share images from the application. It seems I can only have my personal Facebook ID, and can't add a second ID (which is my business page, which I also like to post images to).
Any idea how to add a Facebook Page ID?
Also having major problems with Flickr. Seems inputting my user name (through System Preferences) does not match my actual user name in the Flickr app, so I can't upload images. UGH. (Why was this okay in iPhoto, but not now?) The only way to access Flickr is inputting your Yahoo ID, but if your Yahoo ID is different than your actual user name on Flickr, you're screwed.
Any ideas? I tried deleting the profile, but I still can't input my Flickr name.
    Thanks.

So, after trying to upload an album four times, it seems it finally kicked in/made the connection on Flickr. MAGIC.
A second Facebook ID, however, remains a mystery.

  • Exporting to Flickr from Bridge CS6 Fail

I'm trying to export photos from Bridge CS6 to my Flickr.com account for the first time in several months, and getting an error message from Bridge that it cannot "authenticate with Flickr".  I've used presets that were successful in the past, as well as going through the usual routine to get new authentication codes from Flickr.com. I recently updated my iMac to OSX 10.x, but visiting Flickr's community site suggests that they adopted a new API that was sent to developers like Adobe and that Adobe has not updated their export protocol. Other contributors to the site suggest that Adobe's position is that Flickr needs to do something.  Are others experiencing this problem? Does Adobe offer no solutions to this problem?
    Any advice would be appreciated.

I had to rebuild the file from scratch in order to export the pdf, and the hotspots line up accurately to their originally location drawn on fireworks.
This may have occurred because I began the document with a canvas size of portrait letter, but changed the canvas size later to landscape letter, and although everything looked well and fine, the export was still triggering the old referential data in the file.

  • Any hope for Adobe Bridge's Flickr Export feature?

    Hi,
I've been using Adobe Bridge CS5 for a few years now and I love it's features.  However, only recently have I decided to explore posting pictures to on-line albums, in particular, Flickr.
Having experimented with Bridge's Flickr Export Panel, I notice that it always asks me to log-in and then it can re-authenticate.  I had started a discussion on Flickr's help forum, and the best suggestion was that CS5's Flickr Export module may be using http: instead of https:  I always get an error and cannot upload any photos to my Flickr account.
Any chance that this is the problem and that there is a fix for it?
Is there an updated Flickr export module?
Are there other export modules, say to Google+?
I am currently not interested in opening a Facebook account, so I don't want to use the Facebook export module.
Please reference the below link to read the Flickr forum discussion.

I called the Adobe 1-800 support number yesterday and went through the phone prompts and found that I could no longer connect to CS support. It just told me that phone support is not available and to go to the web site for support. It then ended the call. Since the phone message I got on Friday told me to call them back I called the number again and simply hit the prompts for Creative Cloud support and told them that I had an open case. I gave her my case number and see looked it up and immediately asked me if she could take control of my computer. Wow! They obviously have a much higher level of support staff for the Creative Cloud subscribers as I doubt if the Level 1 staff I talked to for regular CS-6 support could even do that, (or would know how). I told her that a Level 2 Tech had already done that earlier with no results. She put me on hold while she checked with the next level of support. After a minute or so she came back on and said that a Level 2 tech would call me back to troubleshoot my issue. I stayed home all day yesterday waiting for the call but nothing. I just hope that when they do call me I am actually home this time or we could be playing telephone tag forever. This is the second time I have called them back when they left a message on my answering machine.
You would think that when they call and get an answering machine that they would try to call back later, instead of making you call them back at the general support number and ending up talking to a different Level 1 person each time, who then has to research your case and then tries to fix the problem themselves when they can’t, or else I wouldn’t have been sent up to Level 2 in the first place. I’ve dealt with other support issues with other companies and they will dedicate one person to your case and that’s who you deal with each time. It’s much more efficient for them and for the customer. I hope someone from Adobe actually reads this forum once in a while. There customer support could definitely use improvement.
The next time I talk to them I am going to point them to this forum thread to prove it’s not just me.
Can I ask everyone to post what operating system they are using. Maybe that will narrow things down, or prove that it’s not an operating system problem?
I have the same problem on both my desktop and my laptop. Both are running Windows 7, 64 bit.
Photoshop CS-6, 64 bit only on both.

  • Mail for exchange settings on N97

I have a N97 which mail for exchange was working happily on, synchronizing mail, contact's and calendar. The world was a good place!
The screen broke and  needed replacing on my N97 and  I have set up mail for exchange again. Now when it downloads mail, it downloads all of the other outlook folders inside my inbox as well as my inbox. It never used to do this and indeed this is not what I want.
How can I get my N97 to just download the inbox rather than all of the folders within the inbox on outlook. There must be some settings either on the phone or in outlook which defines what is synced.

Maybe you had earlier Mail for Exchange v2.9 in use and after setting it up again, you have got the latest MfE 3.0 version. The new MfE 3.0 version has as a new feature the possibility to view the outlook subfolders. These are, however, not automatically synced unless you subscribe to them. The unsubscribed folders show the mark (x) in front of the folder name. After you subscribe to a folder, the (x) mark will disappear from the folder name.
