Window Vista has this feature where you can switch between virtual backgrounds through the effect of a spinning cube! Is there such thing for Mac? Thanks

Actually, I have no transitions grayed out, although for the build effects on Charts, 'Flame' is indicated as unable to be used on this computer.... so you're right, it doesn't look good. Strange that I can use a build effect like Sparkle or Shimmer which are anti-aliased but for 3D grow, some growing blocks of a chart can't be anti-aliased
I guess it's back to the store to try and exchange this mac mini for an Imac.

I'm looking for a version of AE for Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10.1). The only version I could find said that it was not supported for my Mac. Also, when I try to install it from the official Adobe website, it never downloads. If someone could help me, I would be very thankful!

Today I ran into these problems:
1) I tried to download After Effects CC, and it never 'worked out'. because the following:
2) The 'Application Manager' I used to have before, hanging over from top should show me:
~ All the CS6 or CC applications, that i can 'update' or 'Install'. But this 'Apps' panel is simply turning the 'clocks' forever! It's like not 'connecting thru' or failed to reach Creative Cloud Apps!
3) The 'Creative Cloud Installer.dmg' file I downloaded never Open Correctly to reach 'the above panel' either (automatically open 'Apps' and users can update or install.)
So:
3) I used "Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool" to Erase Both: the Application Manger, and the Creative Cloud Installer. Then RESTART! and SAME RESULT: The 'Apps' Tab is not showing anything; and I can't exit.
The 'Quit' button is also grey out.
What Am I Getting into? How to further install or update anything~ either CS6 or CC Apps?
I had everything worked great, in tune before..... before I had this new Creative Cloud Installer.
The error message I ran into:
~ Another version of 'Creative Cloud' is already running, you need to quit (close) that in order to run this one. (something like this ....)
~ AE, InDesign, Flash.... all failed to install/update. Because it asked me to:
***Uninstall & reinstall". I did try with 'Uninstall', didn't remove all contents. So I used 'Cleaner Tool'.
After all these trouble and steps, not WORKING! I feel it's simply hanging in the process of reaching Creative Cloud Apps.
Important Reference:
*CS6 Apps are currently okay on this Macpro..... since I haven't 'upgraded' my Mac OS to Yosemite.
I'M STILL RUNNING 10.8.5 MOUNTAIN LION. I need to keep other Mac Apps like Final Cut Pro & plugs running smoothly. So I just don't want to upgrade this major working MacPro (2012, 2.7GHz, Corei7)
The other Mac (iMac~ 2.9GHz, i5) had things installed and run okay, which upgraded to Yosemite. And run the entire CS6 and AE (CC), PHOTOPHSOP (CC), without problems so far. But that is a 2nd working mac.
I did check 'firewall' (is off), and use physical cable/line connection to the web; not wifi.
Ah! A HORRIBLE & FRUSTRATING DAY!!!!!! NO WORK DONE.

How to download a trial of After Effects for Mac OS X 10.6.8?

I want to try out After effects on my computer, but my computer is running OS X 10.6.8, and the newest version of AE requires 10.7.4 or higher. How do I download an older version?

Nvidia quadro 4000 for mac and os 10.6.8 on After Effects CS6 (11.0.2) Cuda don't work

We bought an Nvidia Quadro 4000 for Mac for use RayTrace on After Effects CS6 (11.0.2) with our Mac Pro 5.1 on OS 10.6.8.
And the Mac lost the Cuda driver when we restart it.
We use the Nvidia driver 256.02.25f01 for Mac Os 10.6.8 and we made test on different Cuda driver (4.1.25, 4.2.10, 5.0.37 and 5.0.47).
When we install Cuda driver and start directly After Effects 11.0.2 it’s works (after effects see the GPU processor).
But when we restart the Mac and try to launch After Effects, AE doesn’t see GPU processor and ask to install Cuda driver 4.0 or later.
Do you know this problem ?
Do you have a solution ?

Hi All,
I'm having the exact same problem on 10.6.8 with a brand new Quadro 4000. My CUDA preferences are up to date, but After Effects CS6 is not seeing the card.
GPUSniffer gives me some really weird results, which I've included. Of particular note there is a repeated "just leaking" message, an "invalid drawable" and "Did not find any devices that support GPU computation."
Anyone have a fix for this? We just dropped a lot of money on this card so I could squeeze some more life out of this workstation (Mac Pro 4,1 dual quad 2.66 with 12GB RAM).

Animation effects in PowerPoint for Mac

I've searched all the online help, and looked in the MS Knowledge Base, but found nothing about how to apply animation effects across ALL slides in PowerPoint 2004 for Mac. I find it very tedious to visit each slide and each component (title and bullets) to apply my visual effect and sounds separately. There is a checkbox which allows me to apply a slide transition to all slides, but I've found nothing which allows me to apply the same animation effect to all titles in all my slides. How do I do that? I've applied my animation and sounds to the Master Slide, but that had no effect on the other slides.

can someone please help me. I have element 6 for mac and my effects pallette has the little pictures at the top but will not work when I click on them. I had tried re-installing the software and doing the Command/Alt and Shift when starting the programme but nothing appears to be working.

Cross-processing effect in Elements 8 for Mac?

I'm doing a free trial of Elements 8 on my Mac and am looking for a way to render cross-processing effects. I know that if you have a Windows PC, you can install a plug-in called SmartCurve which will enable to you to make the color adjustment curves demonstrated in this tutorial:

It's not available for Mac, however. Is there a way for Mac users to create color adjustment curves in Elements, or another way to somehow render faux xpro effects?

I've downloaded from that blog...coffeeshop blog...before without any issue. Grant's tool's appear clean. I've installed those and a lot of people on this forum have through the years without complaints of infection.
Truth told I haven't had any problems with any photoshop actions, patterns, layer styles, or brushes that I have downloaded. I've downloaded a lot through the years and only recently have I got alerts from my anti-virus when looking up anything Photoshop related. So, far I'd say it's doing an image search to find something Photoshop related like a tutorial that is more likely to lead you to something nasty. I like doing an image search to see the result but am going to have to break myself of that habit.
Being on a Mac, you should watch out for video more these days with the cross-platform java trojan that's currently out there. I'm on a PC so I use anti-virus which detected and removed it a couple of weeks ago.
I've never used element+ so can not say how good it is but if you look up elements+ reviews you'll find people who downloaded the trial version from cnet and bothered to rank it and write a review were very negative in their comments about the program...1 out of 5 stars.

They go in <your hard drive>->Library->Application Support->Adobe->Photoshop Elements->9.0->Photo Creations->photo effects. After installing them, you need to delete mediaDatabase.db3, which is in Library->Application Support->Adobe->Photoshop Elements->9.0->Locale->en_US (or your location).
If you're using lion you will need to go to the Go menu>Computer to find the library folder.

Using CS5.5 Master Collection for MAC, I can't use "Replace with After Effects composition" because I updated AE to CS6 (but only AE). Even that AE CS 5.5 is still installed, it won't connetct.
How can that be fixed?

Typing style effect for Flash 8 mac

I have flash 8 on a g5 mac.
I'm looking for something that will give me a typing or
old-style computer terminal effect for text on a page I'm building.
I'd rather not to all of it by hand with masks if I can avoid it.
I payed for and downloaded Red Giants "Text FX" program,
which does do this. But then I found out it doesn't support Flash 8
on the mac... Bummer.
Anyone know of another good add-on for Flash 8 on the mac
that will do this effect for me?

After Effects demo for Mac OS X missing Cylore Particle World plugin

Color Match Effect in Premiere CS4 for Mac

So...how can I achieve this color match effect in Mac if it's only on the Windows version?
I need something that would be as simple as that one effect- matching colors and luminance between 2 clips using eyedroppers, I know I could spend hours of finicking in AE using different effects but I'm trying to find an easy path on MAC!

I'm not sure if Magic Bullet has Colorista for the Mac, but that might be a starting point.
