Flipping objects horizontally/vertically

This is one seriously goofy program folks...
Whenever you have a design that uses the "cookie cutter" tools in the A.W. Drawing program, (aka line tool, rectangle, oval, arc, rounded rect) DON't PLAN ON FLIPPING THEM! Even when they're grouped, they FALL APART! I've seen this for about 7 years and several versions, and it still hasn't been fixed!
In case you don't understand, if you made a drawing of a calculator, and used the rectangle to make the body and buttons, etc, and you were artistic and rotated the calc so it wasn't symmetrical (y'know, maybe tilted at a 45 deg. angle?) when you choose FLIP HORIZONTALLY, it "breaks" the calc apart so the buttons look as if they fell off! Can someone solve this many years long mystery for me? I know you can bring it in to paint and do it, but why not be able to do it in it's native format?

I used to have the option of distributing objects so that they would overlap, but the current "distribute" tool is functioning as if overlapping isn't allowed. The result is that the objects move beyond the limits of the slide. Any suggestions?

Bridge is categorically NOT "editing software". It's just a file browser, no more and no less. Period.
Bridge does not "edit" anything. Bridge doesn't even open anything. It just hands files to the appropriate application, whether this be Adobe Camera Raw, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, InDesign, or even Microsoft Word.

I have set "Show Horizontal Scroll Bar" to "Yes" and "Show Vertical Scroll Bar" to "Yes" in the WINDOW Property.

But still the Horizontal and Vertical Scroll Bar is not working when i run the Form.

window and canvas show scroll bar when it need.
You should show block property
and set block scroll bar

the form has horizontal vertical line
table lines , and logo
but when i print in Dot matrix printer
the line and logo is not display

The Printer settings is not supporting the horizontal and vertical line ..check with the basis team for the printer settings.

Need Advice: Which Camera 4 Capturing HDTV & Flipping Monitor Horizontally

I have CS4 Premiere and need to buy an HDTV camera and have questions how to achieve the following:
1) Capture hours of continous video direct to PC hard drive without stopping.
2) Display in real time a monitor image with the video flipped horizontally on a consumer LCD HDTV, so the monitor image is reversed as if you were viewing yourself in a mirror (we're recording a makeup artist who is applying makeup to a woman and needs his monitor to reflect a mirror-like image)
Any idea how to flip a monitor signal horizontally? I know how to do this in post production, but I need to do it on the realtime monitor feed from the camera.
Your recommendations for HDTV camera that works well with CS4, probably feeding a USB-2.0 signal to the PC.

I've learned that Adobe OnLocation when capturing video has a setting to flip video horizontally in the monitor display, so that would be a solution. (Few LCD consumer TVs have any ability to flip in hardware, except for Sharp LCD's which seem to have a mirror command, or professional video monitors which often can flip.)
My nagging problem now is apparently OnLocation cannot capture video from the newer HD consumer cameras which only have USB 2.0 and HDMI outputs, whereas OnLocation CS4 at this moment appears to only support 1394 firewire. New cameras no longer have 1394 outputs, the trend is to USB 2.0

How to set default for "Horizontal / Vertical Alignment"?

is there somewhere a setting to change the default of the "Horizontal / Vertical Alignment" property for an item label? I don't like the "Right" alignment and I have to change it each time when I create a new item.

Yes, this is one of (many) cases where a Bulk edit feature in the Builder would be very useful. There have been some discussions about this and hopefully the APEX team is considering these for the next release.
Having said that, I frequently find myself taking a full app export and editing the SQL file in my favorite text editor (Vim) and making these little changes.

As always, take a backup of the file before modifying it and save it so you can revert back to it if something goes wrong.

Does iPhoto flip images horizontally or is it my camera?

As a Serious stamp collector, I am trying to scan all of my collection into iPhoto.
(Only because there is NO dedicated software for the Stamp Collector).
Problem is that images are flipped (Reversed) horizontally.
Rotate will only turn the image upside down.
I am forced to use (Preview, Photoshop, GraphicsConverter) to correct the pics.
This seems to be a camera problem, as iPhoto and iChat images are FLIPPED.
This fault could be easily fixed by simply adding a FLIP IMAGE BUTTON to iPhoto and iChat.
My system uses a:
1 yr old PowerBook 1.67 ghz 12in.
OS X 10.4.6
iPhoto v6.04
Sony DCR-HC40 video camera using the Firewire option and from MemoryStick. ( I Haven't tried SONY USB or S-video output)
Now that I wrote this post, I should give SONY a buzz and see what they recommend.
Any Input on this subject is appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You're taking pictures of the stamps for inclusion into iPhoto and they are coming out reversed, right? You're not actually scanning them.
Check all of the menus on the camera to see if there is an option to flip the image. It sounds like there should be one. Are normal photos flipped? Are you using a "macro" mode on the camera? Check those out to see if the answer is in there somewhere.

Press the home button twice, consecutively to bring up multi tasking. swipe from left to right. U will then see a orientaion lock key. Press that and it should solve the problem. Hope this helps

How can I flip a path vertically or horizontally?

Hi all,
I'm just getting to grips with paths.
I have created a path, which I want to copy, then flip the copy in the vertical axis, then join it onto the original, yeilding a path that is vertically symmetrical.
I can create the path OK, and I've figured out how to copy it.
BUT .... when I go to Edit > Transform Path ... the flip vertical and flip horizontal options are greyed out.
What am I doing wrong?
I'm using CS4 Extended v11.0.

Another way to accomplish what you want is after selecting the path with a path tool and using the transform box (Ctrl + T on Windows), drag the center of the transform box to the center of the left or right side and then in the Options bar under the main menu in the W field, type the - (minus sign) in front of 100% and press Enter until the transformation is applied.
I don't think there is a way to join two paths into one without using the pen tool (P) to connect them. So before mirroring the paths you may add a point near the end of the joining place so that you can delete a small part of the path by deleting the end points and then join these end points by clicking on each with the pen tool.

This is missing and annoying to do with the tool or the transform palette flyout. Pretty sure you can't even set your own shortcut within the program. Please add this standard.
In the meantime if you have autohotkey I made this script to map the alt menu to do it.
I've also added better blend shortcuts and rounded corners.

"horizontal/vertical align center" relative to one object, not the average

Hello!
I see in Illustrator, if i select 2 objects and i choose to align them relative to their centers, both objects will move to the middle point of the distance between their original positions.
Is there a way to make just one of them move?
Am i able to center one object to another object that is already in its final position?

I've looked through the DOM and at the various methods and properties of various Javascript classes, but didn't see an obvious way of aligning one object's center to another object's center (particularly a Text Frame to a Group Item or Path Item). I'd have expected this to be pretty routine, so forgive me if I've overlooked the obvious (both in the documentation and on this forum).

OK, well I guess I just needed to think a bit more. The answer I came to just required the use of some math.
Basically,
object_to_center.position[0] = object_to_center_to.position[0]+object_to_center_to.width/2-object_to_center.width/2; //X coordinate of object to center
object_to_center.position[1] = object_to_center_to.position[1]-object_to_center_to.height/2+object_to_center.height/2; //Y coordinate of object to center
Seems you get the center point somewhat indirectly, but at least you can get it.

Lightroom 1.2 flipped images horizontally

I've noticed since my update that several Folders have the images flipped Horizontally. Anybody else have this problem? Any ideas for a fix other than manually selecting images in bunches and flipping back. PITA..

No, mostly from a Nikon D200 and I really don't use Bridge anymore. It only happened recently after the update in files I hadn't gone into before the update, so I'm assuming, though that's a big if with computer stuff, that it happened because of the update. I also don't have mirror enabled. In fact, honestly, I'm not sure what the mirror function is,but I haven't ever used it.
