Floating photos keep moving around??

I'm having a real problem trying to import photos into a document and have them STAY PUT!
I can import the photo (defining it as a 'floating object') and resize, etc., the way I want; I've been putting 'picture frames' around them and setting them to let type 'wrap' around them. I SAVE the document, but the next time I open it, the pictures have moved... sometimes as much as two or three pages??
what do I have to do to keep them where I want them?
Thanks.. I like PAGES, but sometimes it gets a little frustrating!

Someone in another forum told me about the "LOCK" feature in Pages which I hadn't discovered.
solved problem perfectly
thanks

    Hi Deeveeay,
Try resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). When the Home screen redisplays, see if the issue has resolved itself.

How do i keep the photos in my header from moving down the page when i resize my screen smaller. it also seems to effect the photos when viewed on line. check it out at www.kansasspineinstitute.com i just need the photos to be next to each other. thanks

    Comments on your site:
You have a line of code above the <!DOCTYPE on all your pages. Remove that line [ <%@LANGUAGE="JAVASCRIPT" CODEPAGE="65001"%> ]; I think it will throw off the browsers' rendering.
Please optimize your photos when you use them on a webpage. I would have clicked away immediately because they take so long to load at the size (file-wise)that they are now.
It is pretty simple to resize them, right from Dreamweaver. Look in the Property Inspector for an icon that looks like a figure eight falling over. Click your image, then click the Edit Image Settings icon (the falling-over figure 8). Click on the "File" tab, and you will see how huge your images are. Going by the final size in your page, put one of those numbers in and the image will adjust to that size, proportionally. You will need to check the size indicated in the <img src... that calls in the image, to make sure it is the final size you want.
I'm not understanding what you mean about your pictures not being lined up. Please explain.
While you're at it, you should get rid of word-spaces in file names.

  • Dashboard widgets keep moving around!

I'm guessing it is related to this question: (still unanswered)
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2080780&tstart=0
But for some reason, my dashboard widgets like to shift around on my screen. I even moved them all into a gird into the upper left and corner of my screen so that it no matter what size screen I am using they will always be there. (as apposed to putting a widget in the bottom corner of my 1920 x 1200 monitor, unhooking it and then going back to the 1280 x 800 screen and finding the widget off screen.)
So is there any way to "LOCK" the positions or just stop the random shifting around?
    Thanks,
    Scott

I just meant open the Dashboard icons you want to use and put them where you want them.

  • My screen keeps moving around with the cursor?

HI everyone out there. i just got back from my 2 week honeymoon and had my G5 power mac, with a 27inch cinema display powered off the whole time. I turned it on and the screen is zoomed out a little bit. and when I move the mouse cursor around the screen image moves around with it as much as an inch or so. Did I catch a virus? or is there a setting my house guests might have touched, even though i am pretty sure they were not on it at all? Any help will do. I am updating the software right now to make sure it isn't that.

You've inadvertently hit the key combination for screen zoom, probably. Go into System Preferences -> Universal Access and turn off the zoom function.
Or, Command-Option-hyphen will unzoom the screen, and Command-option-equals will zoom (which is probably what got accidentally typed).

  • Lenovo a10 7600 apps keep moving around home page

Okay so this could be a silly one. Just bought an a10 7600 and so far, loving it. Apart from one thing. I organise my apps and folders. Very happy with them. Problem is any time I turn the pad off, when I turn it back on the apps and folders move around so they're jumbled. It's weird, it's not like they go into alphabetical or size order it's just totally random. I know it isn't the end of the world but it is annoying. Anyone got any advice please? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance. John

    From another thread...
I think I have this figured out now... I have too many darned apps. My pages are all full. Rather than installing on a page that doesn't exist, it installs on the second page so it can be found. I combined a bunch of icons on my last page in a single group and then installed a new app. Lo and behold it installed on the last page. Does that sound like a reasonable explanation?

  • Video keeps sliding around, is there a way to LOCK VIDEO???

I'm working on a cue, and I'm making timing adjustments as I go...sometimes it's the start of the session, sometimes the tempo.
The bloody video KEEPS MOVING AROUND. I've made absolutely sure that it's not somehow 'selected' when I make changes. The number is always random and different every time.
It's frustrating to constantly go back to Video preferences to start the video at 01.00.00.00.
What the heck is going on???

    a) trying to set a bad example?
    b) or just lazy?
    c) or something else altogether?
    Let's see...
Regarding "b", I've never been accused of being lazy, that's for sure.
Then there's "c" -- something else. Yeah, it could be something else. But before I commit to that answer, let's look at "a" -- trying to set a bad example:
I'm very tempted to embrace that one just to be a grump cuz it's early in the day and I haven't had enough coffee yet. But lemme tell ya, if there's anyone trying to set a bad example, it wouldn't be me. It would be... Dare I say it? Dare I mention names? Names of fruit? A particular kind of fruit? One that has varieties that include Crofton, Elstar and Gilpin?
Well, in truth, the answer is indeed "c", something else. Let's put it this way... if someone could come up with a way by which L9 channel strip faders reacted to external CC7 (and on-screen mouse movements) with the same response curve as in L8, I'd jump onboard L9.0.more in a second. Short of that, there's no point in updating past where I am now.

  • Floating photos in 11 any one know how I can keep them in the workspace like elements 6

floating photos in Elements11, does any one know how I can keep them in the workspace like elements 6 really annoying when looking under photoshop and seeing the photo blocks my desktop or something simular or even blocks the  tools bar opions  at the bottom, which also seems far to big any help in mmaking that smaller or putting it at the top like elements 6 .. ( think I may just go back tho that 6 )

    Hi Barbara B
Yes I have the photos floating but they float everywhere   but not with the workspace  If I  move the work area and the photo stays where it was blocking all under it  and as I said the photos tend to over lap into other parts as well when I move it in the work space   Yes i know as clear as Mud

  • Iphoto keeps moving photos to the Trash

I installed the latest version of Iphoto 11...When I initially installed it a large portion of my photos were moved to the trash...I have moved them back multiple times but everytime I shut Iphoto down it puts them back in the trash...Very frustrating...
    Any help would be appreciated

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    Regards

  • The "moving around" slideshow effect

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the "moving around" slideshow effect outside iPhoto in:
    -an exported DVD/mpeg slideshow
    -slideshow effect in Aperture
The move around effect is really nice in combination w/ music, and it would have been super to pass that same feeling on when sharing an album with others through a dvd or mpeg file.
Greatful for some input in this matter!

You might take a look at PhotoPresenter. Besides the KB effect it has over 25 animated themes which are pretty spectacular. This demo page has examples of a few of them.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
