Floating screen within Photoshop Elements

I am running Photoshop Elements 12 on a Macbook Pro with a Retina Display.  In Photoshop Elements Organizer the screen is floating up above the menu bar and I can not access the menu to create new albums, close program, or see the top of my photos at full screen.  I have seriously spent hours online googling the issue but I have not found out a way to move the screen back down. I have changed the resolution which makes it smaller but the top is still missing.  I have clicked on every setting and preference options on my Mac and within the Elements program and nothing has works.  The screen will not drag down either.  I would appreciate any help someone can give me!  And advice of how to avoid this happening again...

If you are on trial application, so whenever you launch Photoshop Elements Editor, it will give you the option to serialize your product.

From within Photoshop Elements, when I try to open Editor, a box opens that states I must activate the software.  I registered and activated the software last year.  When I click to activate, I get a message that I am not connected to the internet.  I am connected.  How do I get Editor to work?

You would get the redemption code, or perhaps even the serial number, from whomever you purchased the software from, apparently Amazon, so talk to them.  This wouldn’t be the first time they’ve sold something that didn’t have all the numbers needed to license it.
A redemption code is something that is usually on the inner disc packaging if you purchase the media in a box, and there is a barcode on the outside of the packaging that must be scanned at the checkout register to activate the hidden inner code so you can redeem it at home on that website.  This is what happens if you buy PSE from a brick-and-mortar store like Best Buy.  I don’t’ know what happens if you purchase the downloaded version as I have never done that.
A redemption code is 24-digits of letters and numbers that you enter into a website to get a serial number, once and only once.  The serial number of only 24-digits, no letters, is what you enter into the software during the install or when you run it and it asks if you want to register or run in a trial mode—whatever the exact phrasing is.
In any case it sounds like you don’t have either a redemption code or serial number—although perhaps something is listed on the purchase confirmation or your account online at Amazon or even in an e-mail from Amazon.

  • Green Screen and Photoshop Elements 11?

Hi. I have tried multiple ways to remove the green screen in photoshop elements.  Being new to this program, I've found ways it was done in previous versions that don't appear to be in 11. The MagicWand doesn't get it all out (gotta love hair with green in between ).  Is there an easy way to be able to put a digital background on?
    Thanks!!
    Khrista

It appears I wasn't told the truth today by Adobe when I chatted with their rep on-line. I specifically asked "if Photoshop Elements 11 did Green Screen" and I was told "Yes". They even show it on the packaged version as I saw it in Fry's this morning. But there is no mention of this in the 'features' section on their website. Someone is playing games.
I  then purposely purchased an upgrade to my version 10 to 11 to do green screens and feel I've now wasted $85.
I was wondering why Green Screen Wizard was selling a plug-in for PS Elements 11 if Adobe already had it in there. I guess I know the answer to that one also.

How do I see a photo full screen in photoshop elements app?  From what I can tell, I can't see a photo full screen in iphoto. I need full screen!

A file with a .PSA extension is most probably a catalog file from an older version of Elements (up to PSE5). To be able to use it with a newer version (including PSE12), you'll have to convert the catalog to the new format. In the organizer, open the 'File' menu, select the catalog manager (shift Ctrl C) and click the convert button, browse to the .psa file. Your catalog will be converted to the new format.

  • My graphics tablet doesn't align with screen in Photoshop Elements 10

    Hello,
I had been using my Wacom Bamboo tablet on Photoshop Elements 10 with no problems whatsoever. Today it seems is a different story. As you can see in the image below, the tablet seems to not be aligned correctly with the screen. I am limited to draw in only the section I have scribbled in. I am unable to access any of the screen to draw, use tools etc because it just wont let me when using the tablet. When I use the mouse it is fine.
I have adjusted all of the settings and made sure everything is correct with my tablet driver and the settings of my tablet, I have no problem with any other program on my computer. I have two tablets and the same problem happens with both. I have tried un-installing Elements but the problem is still there when I re-install it.
I really am at a loss, it seems like such a simple thing to fix yet I am completely stumped on this one. Please help as I use my tablet on a daily basis and this really is gutting!!!

PSE will respect the Wacom settings and sensitivities. Go to your tablet control panel and check your pre-sets. Or select he brush tool in the Elements Editor and change the settings to suit.

  • Opening screen in Photoshop Elements 7

    Hi everyone,
out of the blue the following has happened in my Photoshop Elements 7...When I click on the desktop ico to open Elements the usuall welcome/opening sccreen appears ( giving the option  of Organize, edit, share, create). To the left there is a box " Photoshop.com Membership" . this usually briefly shows a horizontal scrollbar to gather the user information and then shows you your user info.
All of a sudden the horizontal scrollbar keeps scrolling and showing " gathering user info" and does not stop. I can go into any of the modules ( such as edit, organize, ect.) and it show the " Welcome" on top with my name. If I click "Welcome, Joe" it asks to verify my password. When I enter the correct password it keeps telling it is invalid. Howver, if I go to my Internet browser and go to Photoshop.com and enter the my user and password it signs it OK.
    any ideas?
    thanks
    Joe

    Thank you.....
    it worked as you suggested.
Why does it behave like that?  Is there a bug in the program?
    thanks

  • Filling the entire screen in Photoshop Elements 10

I don't know how to fill my screen with the image as I can in regular Photoshop. There's all these editing tools taking up much of the screen.Any help would be appreciated.

Ctrl+plus or Ctrl+minus to zoom in and out. Ctrl+zero to fit.
In tabbed windows you can drag out the bottom right corner to cover as much or as little of the screen as you wish. But first go to Edit à Preferences à General and then check the box “Allow Floating documents in Full Edit Mode”

  • Why does my printer print different colours than are displayed on the screen, in Photoshop Elements 10

My printer has begun to print greens as browns. This only occurs with photographs.
Is there a solution to this.
I have checked and I have the latest drivers and the test sheet colours are fine.

I found another thread finally about this issue which effects many. There is a 3rd party that makes drivers that I installed and cut my "sending to printer" time from 10 minutes per page to  instantly!
Google: gutenprint  or go direct to the Apple page at:
    http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php
and download Gutenprint 5.2.8-pre1 and install the drivers (there's an uninstall in case you need to)
Then go to: System Prefs > Print & Fax > Options & Supplies... > Driver > Print Using:
Select the driver that looks most like yours. In my case I have a "HP Lasterjet 1200" and Gutenprint's driver substitute is: "HP LaserJet 1200 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.8-pre1"
After selecting your substitue driver, click OK and click out of the Sytstem Prefs and try printing.
I was stunned at the difference in time. It was immediate as opposed to 10+ minutues per page.
The one thing though.. is when I was using the HP Driver and it took so long, the printer icon was in my dock the whole time and if I clicked it and launched the interface, there was an "Advanced" button and clicking that gave me a bunch of configurations that I'd never seen before being that I never got this into printing before. But from memory there was which language to choose: Language 2 or 3 and then, stuff like cleaning up background and others I can't remember now.
But now that the new driver prints instantly the printer icon is in the doc all of 1 second and so I can't launch it to get to options. I remember experiementing but unfortunately can't tell you all what I tried since I can't picture what all the config options were/are.
So.. I'm not 100% sure if the speed I'm enjoying now is partly because of the Advanced configuration changes I was trying. Sorry...
If someone knows how to get to these Advanced options, please post them in this thread?
    Thanks,
    S

  • Installing Photoshop Elements 10

I can't get a stable version of the program to load in a Windows 7 64 bit environment.
    1)  It is becoming increasingly apparent that this version doesn't support 64 bit OS and quite obviously the install has not been tested in that environment.  Are there any reference cases of people who have been able to actually get it to work in that environment?
    2)  I have the "Costco special editon" which comes with 3 dvd's.  You have to read the fine print to learn that the Windows OS install begins with disk 1 and MAC OS with disk 3.  During the windows installation, it requests the 2nd dvd.  However, the installer won't release the 1st dvd so I can swap them.  Closing the dialog with the continue button takes me to the reboot dialog.  I have no idea if the installation is complete -- an number of clues suggest it is not.  Does anyone know what I might be missing without dvd 2 or 3 loading?
    3)  The so-called Inspiration Browser does not work from the splash screen.  Attempting to install it fails as numerous others have noted in this forum.  Adobe has made numerous "guesses" at what to do but none of them seem to work.
    4)  I set-up an Adobe ID and naturally that does not work either (I think there is a pattern emerging).  After multiple tries, I've established a user id and password but I must supply my birthday which is none of Adobes dam...d business and an open invitation to identity theft.  I've tried multiple different fake birthdays but nothing enables the "Create" button so the account cannot actually be used.
So the basic question is this.  Does my license key entitle me to download a newer and presumably more stable version of the software or should I fall back to my version 7?

    1.  Did you receive any error messages while trying to install?  Photoshop Elements 10 should work just fine under Windows 7 in a 64-bit environment.  I have installed and launched it on a lab machine here running Windows 7 64-bit.  If you can provide any error messages you receive during the installation process it will help us discover a resolution to your difficulties.
    2. The 2nd disc contains the Premiere Elements 10 trial.  There is a check mark during the installation process asking if you want to install the Premiere Elements trial.  If that is checked it will prompt you to insert Disc 2.  Once the Photoshop Elements 10 installation is complete you can then put in the second DVD if you wish to install the trial.
    3.  For questions related to the Inspiration Browser I would recommend posting your inquiry to the Photoshop Elements forum.  The users there will be more familiar with utilizing that feature of the software.
    4.  Can you try logging in on Photoshop.com?  Once you log in there you should be able to log in successfully within Photoshop Elements.  I believe the birthday is to verify you are of legal age to post pictures online.

  • Missing Camera Raw Dialog Box in Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows.

    Hello,
I have Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows. This runs on a 32-bit Windows Vista VirtualBox virtual machine.
It has been running fine, but suddenly opening raw Nikon images no longer opens the Camera Raw Dialog box, but takes me straight into editing on Photoshop Elements.
I really like having the Camera Raw Dialog box open as I do most of my image processing using this before opening the resulting file in Elements.
Does anyone know how to get this box back, or to open it from within Elements?
I have tried opening the images from within Photoshop Elements using the "Open As..." mnu item from the File menu, and the selecting "Camera Raw" as the image type, but it still opens without the Camera Raw Dialog box.
    Thanks very much.

Check your screen resolution settings for vista.
I believe the screen resolution needs to be at least 1024 x 768 for the camera raw dialog to show in pse 8.
For example, if instead of running VirtualBox full screen, your running it in windowed or seamless mode and made the window smaller by dragging on the corner, that would automatically lessen the screen resolution in vista.

  • Photoshop Elements 7 Edit feature

A friend of mine has purchased Photoshop Elements 7 and is having trouble with it. The first menu opens and gives you the option to organize, edit, create, or share. Everything works except the Edit feature. When I click on the button it starts to load and then crashes. It doesn't provide me with any identifying error message so it's been difficult for me to search for solutions.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Photoshop Elements 7 Editor crashes at "Building TWAIN menu items" during startup (Windows)
    Ratings:0
    Issue
When you try to start the Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 Editor on Windows, the application closes when the splash screen displays "Building TWAIN menu items" and Windows may return one of these error messages:
"Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 (Editor) has stopped working."
"Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 (Editor) has encountered a problem and needs to close."
    Reason
Photoshop Elements 7 includes support for a technology called TWAIN, which lets you control certain image-acquisition devices--including many scanners, the scanner portion of many all-in-one printers, and some webcams--directly from within Photoshop Elements.
During its startup process, the Photoshop Elements 7 Editor loads its TWAIN plug-in. This plug-in immediately begins communicating with the driver for each scanner or other TWAIN-compatible device that you have installed on your computer.
If the TWAIN plug-in cannot communicate with a device driver, then the Editor crashes.
    Solution
Do Solution 1 first. Proceed to Solution 2 only if you wish to operate your device directly from within the Photoshop Elements Editor.
Solution 1: Disable the TWAIN plug-in.
The Photoshop Elements Editor does not load plug-ins whose file name begins with a tilde (~). Rename the TWAIN plug-in to prevent the Editor from loading it.
    To disable the TWAIN plug-in:
    Do one of the following:
If you are using a 32-bit edition of Windows, then navigate in Windows Explorer to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\Locales\en_US\Plug-Ins\Import-Export\.
If you are using a 64-bit edition of Windows, then navigate in Windows Explorer to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\Locales\en_US\Plug-Ins\Import-Export\.
Note: If you do not know which edition of Windows you are using, see "Determine whether your computer is running a 32-bit or a 64-bit edition of Windows" (TechNote kb407673).
Rename Twain_32.8BA to ~Twain_32.8BA. (You may not see the file name extension .8BA.)
When the TWAIN plug-in is disabled, you cannot operate your device by choosing File > Import > [Device name] in the Photoshop Elements Editor.
If you do not wish to operate your device directly from within the Editor, then you can use other software -- such as the software that came with the device, the Windows Scanner And Camera Wizard, or Windows Photo Gallery -- to operate the device and save image files from the device. (For instructions, see the documentation for the other software.) Then you can open those files in Photoshop Elements.
If you would like to operate your device directly from within the Editor, then proceed to Solution 2.
Solution 2: Troubleshoot installed drivers and re-enable the TWAIN plug-in.
If you use a scanner, all-in-one printer, or another TWAIN-compatible device on your system, then the device's driver may be out-of-date. Download the latest version of the driver for your device from the manufacturer's website. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to install the driver. (If you have more than one TWAIN-compatible device, then download and install the latest driver for each device.)
After you have installed the latest driver for each device, re-enable the TWAIN plug-in and restart the Photoshop Elements Editor.
    To re-enable the TWAIN plug-in:
Rename ~Twain_32.8BA to Twain_32.8BA. (You may not see the file name extension .8BA.)
If the Editor successfully starts with the TWAIN plug-in enabled, then you can operate your device by choosing File > Import > [Device name].
If the Editor fails to start, then the driver for one or more TWAIN-compatible devices that you no longer have or no longer use may be causing the problem. (A driver will remain on the computer even after you disconnect a device.) Identify each device that you do not use, and then follow the manufacturer's instructions to completely remove each device's driver.
After you remove the driver for each device that you do not use, restart the Photoshop Elements Editor.
If the Editor still fails to start, then the driver for one or more of the devices that you currently use is incompatible with the Photoshop Elements TWAIN plug-in. In that case, disable the TWAIN plug-in (see Solution 1) and leave it disabled. (You may also wish to periodically check the device manufacturer's website for driver updates. If an updated driver becomes available, then repeat this solution.)
