Flooding ISCSIprt errors

Hi,
We have a Windows Failover cluster running on VMware. Windows server version windows 2008, R2.
I see a flooding of iSCSIprt errors on the servers, but these servers are not having any iSCSI disks on them.
They had few iSCSI disks before and now we have disabled the service.
Multipath solution is disabled. I have removed the iSCSI targets from the iSCSI initiator properties.
Still I see then flooding the event log.
What am I missing here ?
Thanks and Regards,

Hi,
I don't found the simlar issue before, could you post the origional error event log, try to install the VMware tools, as far as i know the VMware platform support the limited scenario of Windows server failover cluster, please confirm
your shared disk scenario in the support list.

    Hello,
I have three Hyper-V 2012 (not R2) nodes and I'm experiencing similar issues.
I get iscsiprt error suddenly after a storage migration of a big VM ends: I launch the storage migration, it starts correctly and, more or less 60 seconds after it ends, iscsiprt errors appears in the event log of the node. I lose iSCSI connectivity with
the iSCSI target on the storage were the VM was on before migration. The storage migrated VM works because is already moved to the "new" storage but obviously all the CSV on the "old" storage become inaccessible, I can see them offline
or online (no access) so all the VMs that are on the old storage goes offline.
I noticed that it didn't happen eveytime I storage migrate a VM, but only sometimes and with big VMs.
I tried both with MPIO and with MCS since our storage supports both of them. I tuned some iSCSI parameters on the initiator. I leave a list of parameters I tried to tune at the end of this message.
The only thing I didn't do already is: disable RSS, disable TCP autotuninglevel and disable delayed ACK.
Someone can help me to understand what is causing these problems? What is AV you are referring to?
This is the parameters I tuned in order to increase timeouts but right now I didn't yet solved the problem:
    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\mpio\Parameters
    UseCustomPathRecoveryInterval 0 -> 1
    PDORemovePeriod 20 -> 120
    PathRecoveryInterval 40 -> 40
    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E97B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\<Instance Number>\Parameters
    EnableNOPOut 0 -> 1
    MaxRequestHoldTime 60 -> 90
    LinkDownTime 15 -> 35
    Thanks in Advance,

  • Flooded with error: Table RequestUsage_PartitionX has 442892288 bytes that has exceeded the max bytes 442857142

    Hi all,
Since last week my 2013 farm (3 WFE, 3 App server, SQL 2012) application event log flooded with error every 5 minutes.
Table RequestUsage_PartitionX has 442892288 bytes that has exceeded the max bytes 442857142.
I have google the error and only found Steve Mann's blog discussing about this.  Yet there is no additional information in terms of how to fix it.  Just wondering if anybody has seen this and know how to fix it?
Appreciate any suggestion and thanks in advance.
    Sally

    Hi  Sally,
    Thank you for your posting!
For your error, it is coming from the Usage Infrastructure. The root cause is that your SharePoint Server  usage data is exceeding the daily partition size for the logging DataBase.
For more detailed information, you can refer to the blog:
Blind spots in Usage file and Web Analytics Reports
Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • My computer uses Windows XP.  The latest Apple Update for iTunes ruined everything.  It won't load the software, and I'm getting flooded with error messages.  Is this latest update a bunch of crap?

My computers uses WindowsXP.  The latest Apple Software Update put the latest version of iTunes on my computer, and now iTunes doesn't work.  I've tried that instructions on the Apple homepage (delete program, reinstall, etc.), and nothing works.  What's worse is that I'm getting error messages every time I log on to my computer.  Is this latest version a pile of pooh?  Anybody know how to fix this?  Or do I need to wait for Apple to figure out where they screwed up?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

    Hi Jay,
Does that mean that if the logs written "unauthenticated" it means the user actually did not login and it was just the user's PC "pinging" the server because their browser is still on and set to the msg server?
I am trying to graph the http log but my log is as below:

Can I assume that those without the [unauthenticated] are those who actually login during the time period? or is it logout?
Any suggestions on how to graph the http log?

I noticed that the update info showed that it was supposed to improve things. My experience was that when it came to content indexing Spotlight seemed to take its own sweet time about getting that done--it seemed like it continued to add content indexes long after it finished its regular index run. So that might be a factor. Also, it is my understanding that it does not index everything in very long files, only the first so many pages (don't remember just how many and am not sure that is correct info, Doc Smoke would know), and if that is true length could be a factor. I just re-indexed a folder full of MSWord docs, and Spotlight does seem to be finding the content now, however the files are all short, one to two pages. I did a search in another folder, which contains a few MSWord docs and which I had not re-indexed, and Spotlight did find one file that had a unique word but not another (in a longer file). So it looks like the situation may be improved, but you will have to re-index to see any of the improvement.

    Try this:

These errors have appeared since the 24th of October (the last marked update day for the udev package).  I'm also slightly concerned about the first 4 lines, where udevd "starts" version 173 and then version 174.  According to pacman -Q udev, only version 174 is installed.
Upon investigating the folder, I find that all the "missing" files are present:

Can anyone confirm this?  If I get confirmation that this is indeed present for other users (and a bug, not a "feature"), I'll open a bug report for the udev package.
Also, semi-related, in the post-install message from the udev package they refer you to the folder /etc/udev.d/rules, however, that directory structure doesn't exist on my system, and the old /etc/udev/rules.d is still present.
I'd appreciate any information or input.  If any further information is required, I'll gladly supply it.

Since the upgrade to 174, thunar doesn't mount anymore external hdd or usb. I removed my user from storage group.
Searching for solutions I find out that I have the same errors in the logs that lswest has.

  • All Open Applications Quitting Unexpectedly and Randomly

It started last night after I finally allowed App Store to install a bunch of OS X updates that it had wanted to install for quite some time. I'm not 100% sure but I believe one of those updates was for OS X 10.8.4 from 10.8.3 but I may be mistaken and had installed that a bit ago. I do know that among the group of updates was a thunderboldt firmware update, some printer drivers, security updates, etc.
Anyways, this has to be by far the most frustrating issue I have ever experienced on a machine. Basically, I'll just be working on my computer whether it be in Chrome on one of my many tabs or in Evernote writing a note or in any other app and then bam, out of nowhere every single running up on my machine, even those not shown in the dock and only in the status bar will just vanish and quit, without notice or popups. The only app that remains will be Finder (TotalFinder will be killed) and, very randomly, a few of the status bar apps may survive the mutiny. Whatever I have open and was in the middle of working on will be gone. I can't even begin to explain how downright frustrating this is. It has already happened 3 times in a period of 24 hours and I have absolutely no clue what is going on. Before I ran the updates late last night, I hadn't rebooted my machine for 2-3 weeks and I've most certainly never ever experienced any issues remotely related to this.
When reviewing the logs in Console around the time of each occurence, there'll be a flood of errors but I cannot identify the root cause of the issue and am left without any leads after hours and hours of searching the web for other users who might be experiencing this exact behavior. Anything I find that might seem related tends to be just one app that's crashing and just isn't quite what I'm experiencing. Might I add that I am not notified, prompted, or anything when the apps close. Literally, one second I have a bunch of apps running and I'm cruising along and the next, nothing but Finder and a few survivors (they probably were able to recover and restart themselves) in the status bar.
This problem is blowing my mind and it has me about ready to reformat and start from scratch except for the fact that I just don't have the time to set everything back up again right now. I cannot get my work done under these circumstances though.
Here are some details on my hardware configuration:
I upgraded my ram to 16gb from a very reputable brand long ago when I first bought the high-resolution late 2011 15" MacBook Pro and have never had issues. I do not believe the hardware has anything to do with this issue anyways...
500GB Samsung Flash drive with about 70GB free right now. Upgraded that from the stock 500GB 5400 RPM hard drive many months ago and, again, have never had issues until I installed updates last night.
I'd greatly appreciate any insight or help on this. I am a software developer and have spent over 6 hours trying to find an answer and diagnose this issue already. I am at a complete and utter loss at this point. I've repaired permissions, cleared caches, verified fonts, rebooted multiple times after making some system changes, etc... all to no avail. I am stumped, fooled, dumbfounded, and, quite frankly, REALLY ****** off at this machine right now. Hopefully some genius can come along and save the day here.
Below is a dump of the Console's logged events from the most recent occurance. Maybe you'll be able to pickup a trail from this information. Please let me know if there's anything else I can provide to possibly help diagnose and fix this.
Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide here.

Hey Clinton, thanks for such a speed reply!
The Console logs sure do seem useless. They definitely haven't helped me track anything down for squat but, as you suspected, I have no kernal panics to pull logs from. I did notice, however, one particular app that was leaving a User Diagnostic Report / crash log at the same time each occurance happened. The reports are for SRServiceAgent, which is part of Splashtop Streamer.app. Maybe these logs might reveal something? If you think so, I can share the output as well. I've looked through them but I must say, they're near giberish to me

I'll try giving a reinstall of 10.8.4 via the combo updater a shot and see if that helps. I've been using the machine without another episode for about an hour now but that really doesn't mean anything since I have no frigin idea what's causing this and if anything I may have adjusted would have even fixed it or not. It's kinda an only time will tell thing right now.
See anything that raises any flags in the output above? The Splashtop kext is for the same app I mentioned above that left a crash log. It's an app that allows me to remote in using my iPhone or iPad but I don't believe I even had it actively running when I whitnessed the lovely disappearing act. Of course, that doesn't mean things weren't still running in the background of course.
On that note, I ought to wipe VirtualBox. I've been using VMWare instead lately and I've actually already uninstalled the VirtualBox app itself. I'll see if I can find a writeup on how to properly remove its kernel extensions... long shot in terms of a solution to my issue but hey.
Btw, is it possible to look into exactly what and when system updates were installed? I'd like to confirm whether I actually did install 10.8.4 the first night or if it already had been. At the very least, it would help me isolate some details behind what's causing this cause this certainly didn't happen before those updates I installed the first night.
    Thanks again!

  • [AnyConnect] No valid certificates available for authentication

    Hi,
We are using Cisco Anyconnect 3.0.0629 with certificate authentication (stored in Aladdin eToken)
Most of users have no problem and it works fine.
When one user tried to connect, he got a lot of errors "No valid certificates available for authentication" during 30 seconds. (~10 errors per second)
In a normal behaviour, we should have only one error.
Why is AnyConnect flooding this error?
    How could I resolve it?
    Thanks for your help,
    Patrick

I also had the problem of "no valid certificates available for authentication", although it only prompted once, rather than a flood like the OP.
However, the cause and solution for my problem was:
The certificate used for authentication was issued by my internal CA, to the Computer, NOT the user.
Although the user that is logged on is a local administrator, the AnyConnect Client application does not have the permission to send the certificate from the Computer store.
The application needs to 'run as administrator'
    Right-click the application shortcut-> Properties->Compatibility->Privilege Level.
Tick ->Run This Program As Administrator.
I needed to reboot the client pc before this worked.
    n.b I was using Windows 8

  • SWU3 - Automatic workflow customizing

    Hi All,
We have a situation where all users are receiving error messages in their SBWP inbox. most of them are related to error processing with IDoc. the user inboxes are flooded with error message and they are not able to open their SBWP.
It seems that in SWU3 - automatic workflow customizing setting "Idoc interface" is active.
Path : SWU3 > "Classify Task as General" > IDoc Interface (checked).
We need to deactivate this Idoc interface but we are not able to do the same. Can some one let us know how to do this.
Also if there is some other cause of this problem then please let us know. Currently we are purging the error workitems but they keep on generating in the background.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Rohit

    Hi,
We need to deactivate this Idoc interface but we are not able to do the same. Can some one let us know how to do this.
For this purpose you need to contact BASIS team to deactivate this.
    Alternate solution :
Get the task id of that workitem. Open it through tcode PFTC and make the task attribute form to "General Task" to "Forwarding not allowed".
    Run PFCT
Enter tour Task id ( eg. TS00008068 , please remove leading TS )
Addition data >>> Agent assignment >>> Maintain >>> Attributes
Form the next run of the workflow workitem will not reach to SBWP.
For the workitems you need to delete mannualy or forward it to a idle user.
    Thanks and regards,
    SNJY

  • How do I stop automatic download of TV shows?

I just bought a season pass for TV show on my new iPad. It instantly started to download every single episode of that show, there is no space on my ipad. I thought that I would simply be able to pick the shows that I wanted to download and watch at my leisure.
Now I can't do anything on my iPad because I'm constantly being flooded with error messages about space, and as soon as I free up a few kilobytes it immediately start download more episodes.
I've turned off all of the automatic syncing options and settings (the few that there are) and yet it keeps trying to download the episodes. How do I make this stop?
I searched the forums in the Internet and it seems that there is no reliable solution to this problem. Lots of people are asking the same question in the Apple forums and very few have gotten even a single reply.

Did you also check if autosync for TV shows is deactivated in iTunes when you connect your device?
    All autodownloads deactivated in Settings/Store?
Did you already reset your iPad by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?

  • WLC restarting on its own.

    Hi all,
We've got a pair of WiSMs installed in our Cat6K, running VSS.
From time to time, the primary WiSM will suddenly fail and secondary will take over.
Unfortunately when the secondary takes over, NO APs will associate with the WLC. What is the reason? And why would the WiSM just suddenly fail on its on?
Running version 7.4.121.0 for both, in AP SSO redundancy.

edit : I can verify that after the secondary WiSM takes over, the licenses also gets adopted by the secondary, but no APs will associate.

There are multiple BUGs which you can refer :

    Symptom:
WiSM2 on code 7.4.121.0 in HA SSO crashes causing the controllers to constantly fail over and fail back between active and standby controllers.

    Conditions:
WiSM2 in HA SSO on code 7.4.121.0
    Workaround:
    None.
Controller reboots and comes up on its own
    Further Problem Description:
    This is a hospital network
Issue was first noticed when customer tried to restart services on the primary MSE in the network (MSE in HA)
This caused a flood of error messages on the controller (error logs attached). It took about two hours for MSEs to come up and stabilize. Shortly after this the active controller crashed, failing over to standby. After some time, the standby WLC crashed failing back to active
Customer setup has 4 WiSM2's in HA SSO and crash has occured multiple times on two of the controller pairs.

  • Analyze table for X records inserted per Y minutes?

I have an error logging table. The principle column is called ERROR_MSG, and each error log record is timestamped on arrival in a LOGDATE column. I'd like a query which counts how many distinctive error messages have been received in, say, the past 10 minutes or the past 5 minutes (or, indeed, in any user-defined period).
I am guessing that there will be a count(*) over (partition by logdate) in there somewhere, but I can't see how to finesse that into the 5/10/15/whatever rolling 'window' for counting. Nor how to achieve separate counts for each distinct error message type.
Could anyone who actually understands analytic functions provide the necessary dose of magic, please?!
The idea is that if we receive more than, say, 10 errors related to, say, website speed in the space of 5 minutes, we will send a single email alerting support staff to the presence of a 'pattern' of errors (rather than, as currently, sending 10 separate emails as each error occurs, which generates such a flood of errors that no-one pays them any attention!). There are a handful of distinct error messages, so a separate count for each one over a given period needs to be obtained.
    Cheers,

    Wouldn't this just be a
    select count(*), error_msg
    from table
where logdate between sysdate - 1/24/60*:x and sysdate + 1/24/60*:x
group by error_msgWhere x is the interval the user defines (so x = 5 would be a 10 minute interval).
If not, can you post a little sample data to illustrate what you are after?
    Also a
    select * from v$version;
