No power listing for now, see if this is enough before I strip the case totally. Just built this system, board will get to  bios fine, seems to recognise all drives, however when attempting to boot to OS the D bracket is hanging on three green one red,

according to the manual it's a floppy drive controller error?
As I haven't used a floppy since the 486 bit the dust, is there any way of disabling this entirely to allow a clean boot?
**Edit, the entire setup was running fine on a K7N2G board, I replaced the N2G with the ILSR as the chip was throttled. The only new factor in the case is the mobo.

If you're implying that I need a larger power supply, then explain why I've been using it for a year with no problems whatsoever.
Sorry Spyder, but this comment doesn't mean a lot! A change in system software or BIOS can change the power requirements of your setup, whether you've added hardware items or not (although the change is usually quite small). As a matter of fact there are options in the BIOS for altering voltages for certain pieces of hardware - memory for instance!
As an example: When I run certain pieces of software - the non-controlled/monitored  fans in my setup can be heard to change tone! And not all software that causes this, is CPU intensive!
Although, I am not convinced it is a power issue in your case, you are underpowered!
I think it may be a good idea to contact MSI directly with your concerns unless someone else can post a solution to your problem!
Anyway, Good Luck and let us know how you get on!

  • Initalizing Floppy Controller-hangs

    Hi,
    I know I have posted before and I thank everyone for their suggestions!  I have a 945P Neo board w/ intel pentium D proc, 2 GB Ram, 430 W PSU w 20 A on 12V, 256 MB PCI-E vid card, SATA HD, DVD Burner, and floppy.  My problem is still the same although I borrowed a D-Bracket from a friend and now have the diagnostic lights.  When the computer is booting up, it seems to be fine, then gives a continous series of short beeps.  On the screen it shows the BIOS and says "press DEL to enter setup" but if I do the computer just keeps beeping.
    After connecting the D-Bracket it gives me the code 1-green, 2-red, 3-green, 4-green which translates into "Initalizing floppy drive and controller" then it just hangs there with the continuous short beeps.
    Is there anything I can do about this problem or is it a dead motherboard?  I actually hear the floppy power on.  I have tried resetting the CMOS but no avail.  Tried bareboning the system as well but no help.
    Any suggestions would be helpful!!
    Thanks

    Make shure the floppy cable is seated right on the motherboard and the back of the drive. There is a red stripe on one side of the cable and that goes towards the power connector on the drive itself and towards pin '1' on the motherboard. Sometimes it is hard to read on the motherboard but it is there. The cable might be bad, the drive itself bad, or even the onboard floppy controller. If none of these help, then just disable the floppy controller in the bios to get it to boot. But first I would make shure the cable is installed corectly.

  • Floppy Controller Out- Clicks When It Gets Power - No Light ?

    Tried to reload Windows and noticed floppy wasnt working went out got another one and same problem no light and floppy not present in BIOS. I tried different cables and it seems that the 7025mod2.1a3 modded BIOS may have taken out my floppy controller I was wondering if anyone else experienced this. I am going to buy a USB floppy to flash back and hopefully get my floppy working again.

    You can flash back with a CD or a USB pendrive...
    Be well....

  • Custom controller init & arguments

    Hi there,
    i would like to know if it is possible to pass arguments to a custom control constructor that are not properties/events/aggregation/etc.
    I already read a lot of documentation as UI Controller without finding a way to do this.
    I tried (and failed) some ways  :
    -Instantiation
    var oObject = new custom.TreeNode(sId,iNumber,mSettings);
    or
    var oObject = new custom.TreeNode(sId,{text:"test, width:100, ... , anArgumentThatIsNOTAproperty:12});
    -Controller
    custom.TreeNode.prototype.init = function(aThing){
    console.log(arguments); //empty array
    console.log(mSettings);//error not defined
    console.log(aThing);////undefined
    console.log(anArgumentThatIsNOTAproperty);//error not defined
    console.log(this.anArgumentThatIsNOTAproperty);//undefined
    if(sap.ui.commons.TreeNode.prototype.init){
         sap.ui.commons.TreeNode.prototype.init.apply(this,arguments);
    Thanks for your help,
    Regards,
    Marc

    If you read the documentation for the init() function it seems that the values provided in the constructor are not available in the init function.
    https://sapui5.hana.ondemand.com/sdk/#docs/guide/6d6b5bda5727419eadcc9cbac1f6e6a1.html
    Values that are given in the constructor method are not yet available in the init method. This is to prevent that a control only works when the values are set initially, but not when the values are changed.
    It's not something I've tried, and not sure why you wouldn't want to use properties, however I think the following example would work.

  • Floppy controller malfunction of sorts...

    for somereason my computer doesn't recognize my floppy drive.  im assuming the problem has to do with the controller since ive used several different ide cables and floppies...  any suggestions? send it back? ( i bought the mobo from mwave.com in dec around christmas.)
    -- Michael

    yeah, if you've tried the obvious like turning the cable upside down etc then its probably the controller mate.
    i fitted a 745 ultra to my dad's pc the other week and had the exact same problem....it was indeed a faulty controller, its rare but it happens
    good luck anyway

  • K7N2 Delta-L Floppy Controller

    I just go this board back from RMA 2 months ago.  It sat in its box for  weeks then I set it up and all worked.  I took the system apart to put it in another case and the floppy will not work.  I have tried 3 floppy drives and 2 different cables.   When I inspected the board - three pins are missing on the end toward the floor.  the too end pins and the one above the left hand pin.  Is this normal?  The board works great just no floppy.
    Thanks,

  • Floppy drive controller failure.

    I have a MS-6529 845 Pro motherboard, which I installed approximately one year ago.  I was in the process of replacing the C: drive in the computer, when I rebooted the computer with the startup disk in the floppy drive to format the new hard drive, the floppy drive will not responed on bootup.  I have checked the D-LED indication and the light indication stops at the point where the floppy drive and the controller should initialize. I have replaced the floppy drive and the cable between the drive and the motherboard connection.  I have checked the BIOS and it indicates a 3-1/2 floppy drive is setup and enabled.  Has the floppy drive controller on the motherboard failed and do I have to replace the Motherboard or is there another option (a flopply drive controller card can be added).

    I find it a bit hard to belive the floppy controller got damaged simply by installing a new HDD so I an trying to see if there is a reason for this situation.
    I am not aware of any external FDD controllers, only USB floppies ment for laptops, but they are expensive and the board should still be under warrenty so I see no reason to buy one.

  • Reg: Order in which view and controller methods executed

    Hi,
    I want to know in which order the following methods get executed in the intial stage of application.

    and when a we press a button or something what is the order in which the following methods get executed.
    Action of corresponding button
    wddomodify()
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Armin,
    Thanks for the reply.
    Just to make sure, Do u mean the on start of application the order is Controller Init(),View init()
    on some action the order is actionhandler, wddomodify().
    Thanks in advance.

  • Can read floppy but not format

    So get this... For whatever reason I suddenly cannot format a floppy disk. I can read some old disks that I have but anytime I try to write to one, it says that the operations cannot be performed. The exact message when formatting (DOS mode) is:
    "Invalid media or Track 0 bad - disk unusable"
    this happens for any disk new/old that I try. I have a new floppy drive on it's way so we will see if that changes anything. The only thing that I can think of that has changed would be going from TURBO to ULTRA-TURBO, but I wouldn't think that that would change the floppy controller. Also I recently updated to Service Pack 2....
    Any ideas???

    Thanks for the reply...I have gotten my new floppy today and so far so good. I don't know what could have gone wrong with the other one. It was a new drive also. It worked for a while and then suddenly started ruining disks. So for now...all is good...!!

  • Floppy drive not working on Neo2-FIS2R

    This is a bizarre one. When we first set the system up, the a: wouldn't work. So we tried 2 different floppy drives and 3 different cables. Eventually the floppy drive just started to spontaneously worked - this allowed us to set up the Intel RAID array (since windows XP needs the F6 + disk in A: to install the drivers).
    Then, after having XP installed, the a: wouldn't work from windows. This was rather bizarre.
    Then later on it just spontaneously started working again, so I took the opportunity to flash to bios 1.3. Now it has stopped working, and that didn't trouble me so much as I don't have much need for an A: generally.
    However I was overclocking the system, and evidently had too low a voltage on the memory, did a memory benchmark in SiSoft Sadra and it hung in the middle, so I reset the computer. Ever since that, booting into Windows had some strange problems, CoreCenter, among other programs, would not start correctly - it would show up in the processes, but the window wouldn't show. Likewise running Sandra or 3dMark, they'd show up as active processes but would not actually be usable. Until I played a music file in winamp - then suddenly all the programs would open up.
    So I figured, right, time to reinstall windows. And it has since turned out that my hard drives were buggered somehow (or at least, they are now) and so I have to format them and start from scratch. Thus leading to the problem.
    How are you supposed to install the drivers for RAID from an A: if your A: does not work? The drive light goes on as if it's trying to read, and it makes noises with the head moving around or something, but it just will not recognize any disk in the drive. Including putting a valid windows 98 boot disk and restarting - it says it is searching for a boot record, but cannot find one on the disk.
    We have tried 3 different cables and 2 different floppy drives, various settings for turning the FDC on the system on and off to no avail. The curious thing is that it's randomly started working by itself in the past.
    Anyone have any ideas what's up? We're trying to find a PCI floppy controller right now to see if we can just avoid the problem completely.
    Is the board buggered or what?

    I found the problem, it was rather stupid, and probably pretty system-specific, but just incase anyone else has the same problem and it drives them insane...
    The problem was a mechanical one - the case I have has a panel that it puts on over top of the floppy drive. There is a button that connects with the eject button on the drive. The problem was the drive was seated about 2 mm too far forwards, so when you put a disk in the drive, it was pushed too far back and not properly seated, making it unreadable.
    Fixed it now though.

  • KT6V install XP Sp2 Sata NO FLOPPY? nlite help?

    I've been going nuts trying to install XP SP2 onto a SATA drive. Basically the XP2 install CD loads and says there are no hard drives found.
    The floppy controller on my KT6V seems to be dead (never used it before).
    So I've been trying to create a customized XP install using nlite with no luck.
    I've created three CDs now but none of them see the hard drive.
    The SATA hard drive was formatted and is visible in my Win2000 system. I power down, unplug the Win2K drive, and then boot from the CD to try to install XP on the new drive.
    Can anyone walk me through what it takes to create an nlite customized install that includes the SATA drivers so I can install without a floppy? (I would love to meet the programmer that decided drivers could only be loaded from a floppy...)
    Thanks.

  • Performance problem calling service controller

    Hi,
    first of all, I'm a really Web Dynpro Newbie, so please be careful with me
    My problem is following. I'm trying to boost performance of our business Web Dynpro project. The starting time is very high. The first view, which is displayed, calls a method of a service controller which just returns a string. With logging I found out, that between the calling of the service controller with "wdThis.wdGetXXXServiceController().getSomething()" and the wdDoInit() of the "XXXService", there is a delay of 5-10 seconds.
    So, i have no idea, what is done in this seconds. The wdDoInit should the first code be called, or not?
    Maybe someone has one idea. I'm afraid, that it will not be possible to post lot more of code, because I cannot locate the problem.

    hi
      the code generated automatically when you use service controller , gets placed in
      component controller init() and a execute method gets created , so  its not mandotary that
      you write the code in the init() , you can even write the code in the  execute create , if so you seem that there  delay in the time using service controller , you can even have your manual code written .
       I guess there should not be any performance criteria coming in picture just because of using  service controller  , and is you find that  , write the code . manually .

    The floppy drive will not read any floppies in the drive.  Whenever, I try to use a bootable Win98Se floppy disk in the drive during bootup, the drive light just comes on and goes off but will not access the disk.  In Windows 98 the drive is detected correctly in the Device Manager,  but will not read any disks giving an error message that the drive is not ready.
    The drive is being detected in the BIOS, the FDD Controller is enabled and the Device Manager detects is, I have tried two floppy drives - faced the same issue - but they work on another system flawlessly, tried changing the fdd cable and used another power cable, have connected the twisted end of the IDE cable to the Floppy drive and the other end to the Motherboard, but the issue still persists.
    So is there anybody who could help me with this issue??

    No that has nothing to do with it...do you have a new floppy cable and floppy drive to install in place of what's in there now? You need to swap parts here to find out if the cable is bad or the drive is bad...if after swapping them out methodically then you may have a bad floppy controller on the motherboard...
