[fluxbox]turning decorations off for certain instances of a program

Hi, I would like to have some instances of aterm placed on my desktop without any decorations. I would probably fire those up through ~/.xinitrc. But after that I want every new aterm instance to have the decor of fluxbox. And to make things even more difficult: I have set aterm to be grouped together by fluxbox but I want the aterm-instances with decor not to be grouped together with those instances without the decor.
Anyone still with me? :>
I am thinking the easiest way would be to run a little script in ~/.xinitrc that turn the decors off, fires up some aterm instances using the "-name" option (so that those aterms won't be grouped together with the aterms started later on) and to have the script turn the decor back on then.
First of all: does anyone have a better, more elegant idea?
And then I guess I could use some help with the script, cuz I don't really know how to have a bash-script check a text file for a certain pattern (across three lines), to change the existing pattern or write it if it doesn't exist and then to either change the pattern again or deleting these three lines out of a textfile (not touching the other lines in the same textfile).
Hope someone can help me. :>

Alright, I knew about the apps file and the deco option I guess my actual question was to ask for help for that script (I wanted that script to edit ~/.fluxbox/apps for me sothat aterm would be generally decorless, then fire up some aterms and then change the apps-file back to what it was before).
But what was I thinking, I totally don't need such a script. Here's how I do that now: I start those aterm instances I want to be displayed without decor with aterm's "-name superdupername"-option and put "superdupername" (well actually I call it 'aterm-root' ) into the apps file to have that generally without decor.
It's as easy as that. I dunno why I wanted to make it so complicated with a script in the beginning.

I do photography just for myself normally, and for my pictures I like to use Faces. However, I've also done some photography for groups. I don't want Faces to try and tag these people, because I don't even know them! Is there a way to turn Faces off for certain projects, but not turn it off totally?

I have a similer thing since I use aperture for my work and for personal things. I use seperate libraries. Create a seperate library from the file menue. (File->switch library->other/new) make one for work (no faces) and one for personal (faces enabled) It's not as simple as setting it on or off for each project but it does work for me.

Unable to turn cellular off for podcast app

In looking at an overusage of cellular data, I've decided to turn off cellular data for almost all apps. When I turn cellular data off for Podcast app, leave cellular settings menu, and go back in, cellular data for Podcast is back on. Even if I go into the Podcast settings screen, and turn data off, it immediatley goes back on. Why can't I get Podcast app to stop using cellular? I've restarted the phone. I don't even use Podcast app, but now it seems that I can't delete it from my phone either. Help! iPhone 5s, version 8.1

Have you performed a reset? Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off button for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons and await restart.

It's "aspect ratio", not aspect "ration".
It's what determines whether you have square pixels ("normal") or, if rectangular pixels, what the aspect ratio (width : length) of that rectangle is.
It's explained in the Help files. I cannot go into more detail because you have neglected to provide information about your platform and exact version of Photoshop.

Turn logging off for a roll off job

Hi Everyone,
We are running into an issue in one of our bw production systems. Once a week we run a chain that deletes data that is past our required retention period. The infoproviders we are doing the data roll off on are quite large. Most contain two years worth of transactional data. We have been running into issues with this process because the transaction log keeps filling and the job gets rolled back. In sm21 the errors are as follows:
Database error -964 requires intervention by the database administrator
Database error -964 at UPD access to table BTCCTL
> SQL0964C The transaction log for the database is full.
> SQLSTATE=57011 row=1
Perform rollback
I am wondering if there is a way to turn logging off for this particular job. We do not require the logging. I realize the rollback cannot occur without the logs, but we don't need the rollback to happen, because we want the data deleted.
Any suggestions?

Hi Charla,
I don't think turn logging off is the best way to resolve this problem. I'd suggest you contact your DBA/BASIS for the root cause of this issue. They will correct it with the most professional way
Generally once we see SQL error or DB error we just ask for their help.

You need to delete here conversation and start another one using her phone number and not her Apple ID. You cannot delete iMessage, you can disable it. If the Apple server still sees her iPod with iMessage on and using her Apple ID, then it will continue to appear to your phone that she has iMessage. She needs to take a look at this support document about permanently disabling iMessage for her account. Can’t receive text messages on a non-Apple phone

Turn Autocommit off for JDBC Connection

I'd like to control the commit for DBMS_XMLSave operations on my own instead of auto commit. The documentation says to "Turn Autocommit off for JDBC Connection", but I haven't found how to do that yet, any clues?

Particularly:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.

Mac Mail Conversations - Can you turn it off for a Specific Email address?

In Mac Mail 6.2, is there a way to leave "Conversations" ON as a default, but turn it off in regards to a certain email address?
Example:
I resell printing and have multiple receipts coming from one supplier(One Email address and the same Subject Line). My problem is it is grouping those receipts into the same conversation, but each of these should be seperate because they are for more than one customer.

Not exactly, but the following workaround might be useful to you:
* Create a new mail folder (either in an IMAP account or in "On My Mac").
* Set that set conversations off for that mail folder.
* Create a mail rule to move messages from your problem supplier to that folder.
Downside: You have to remember to check that other folder.
If it is important to you that the messages be available in the unified Inbox, you might be able to do something similar with a separate mail account.

Turning servers off for two weeks (Safe?)

The air conditioning unit in our server room has broken down. The room is very small with 4 servers in it and there is no other way to ventilate the room to let the heat out. Currently we have
the door open, but this will need to be shut for next 2 weeks for security reasons.
The site is not in use for the next two weeks, is there any issue with turning the server off for two weeks?
I know in the past there was a risk of hard drive seizing up, is this still the case? All of the hard drives are SAS drives and the oldest server is around 6-7 years old.
I would appreciate some input.

If the servers are not needed, then powering them down seems a reasonable option.
Risks concerning hard drives seizing up disappeared several generations of disk drives back.... or maybe we just quit turning off computers and it just doesn't happen anymore.
On the other hand, it's unlikely that four servers are going to generate enough heat to be an issue. Today's servers are actually pretty heat tolerant in terms of ambient room temperature, and while you might not want to run a bunch of 'em in a 90F
room permanently, a couple of weeks may be quite tolerable.
One approach might be to put a thermometer in the room, close the door for a couple hours, then come back and check the temperature and compare it to the documented/supported ambient room temperature for each server.
In the end, it seems like it's just a comparison of two risk factors:
The risk of the machine not starting up vs the risk of the machine overheating due to ambient temperature.
Which risk seems more certain? :-)
Then again... your question was posted over two weeks ago, so maybe the real question is what you actually did do, and how it worked out.

Nano problems after not turning it off for 24 hours

I forgetten to turn off my nano and put in in pause mode and hold it for overnight. When i realised what happened in the moring, i couldnt turn it off and it just froze. I reset my nano by pressing the menu button and select button and it finally turned off. I tried to turn it on again but could not. I thought that it had no more battery, so i went to charge it. but when i tried to charge it, still, nothing appears on the screen and I cannot turn it on too. Help anyone?
