FLV export out of AE CS3

I have read in past posts that you need Flash installed to be able to export flv out of AE CS3. Is that correct?
That could be the reason why I am getting corrupt exports of flv out of AE now because my Flash has expired. I have the option to save as a Sorenson squeeze.
Thanks.
SH

Tim is right, there should be nothing that stops you from creatinbg FLVs even without Flash installed. If the files are corrupted somehow, it would more point to a configuration problem. this has been known to happen if you use the Quicktime FLV extension, but Tim also provided the right solution for that: Never use Export, but rather use the Render Queue with native FLV rendering. If FLV export is not listed on the RQ, you will have to re-install. In that case something is completely wrong.

  • FLV Export from Media Encoder

Hi, When I export an FLV from ME, the clip does not play or starts and then stops on Vital Streams servers. I can take the same clip, export a movie as AVI, then bring it into ON2's Flix Pro (using the same codec as ME FLV export is based on) and generate a perfect FLV with the same settings. Has anyone tried to export an FLV and then upload to a streaming server? I use this for clients to review their projects if they are long distance. Thanks for any direction.

Higher the bitrate the better the quality and file size. So the way I've been trying to work it out is literally, how large can a video be per minute and then depending on how long the video is I try and get it down to a certain video bitrate.
For me audio is important as well and so I'm essentially setting the audio bitrate to 128k.
Yes, your video does not play for me either. Is this video encoded using PPro CS3?
Essentially, the FLV files are intended to be played back using the Flash/Flex video player, and they do. I'm new to the whole "Flash" world as such (I'm Primarily a software programmer and not a designer) and so I don't know much about third party player/tools like Flix Pro.
What I can offer to do for you is make you a host like the one I'm made that you can use within your own website. If you'd give me the deminsions of the videos you produce (for online viewing) I can make you a player (no cost). It'll be my way of paying back this forum. If you send me an flv encoded using PPro CS3 that'll be even better :)
If you're a grpahics person, you could also send me png images of buttons and the like and I'll incorporate them into the flv player.

  • When I export from Lr to CS3 my image size is 8x12 roughly, why?

I shoot RAW with a 5d mark2 I export from lr to cs3 in my workflow. I am wanting to create a gallery wrap at an image size of 24x36, when I go to create my negative space my exported image size from Lr is only 8x12, why would that be? I don't know what to do or how to make my image larger without loosing quality? I have never noticed this before? Why is it doing this now?

It will be the settings in your export menu.

  • New Mac Pro and now no FLV Export option in FCP

    Hi Folks,
I have a new MAc PRo and just loaded final cut studio 2 and flash 8 onto it.. I know have no option in the quicktime conversion setting to export to FLV?
Please any help would be huge at this point...
Oh.. I loaded After Effects 7 to the new Mac PRo and I get the Export to FLV option from AE so what is the deal?

Hi Todd, I bet you upgraded from a PPC machine.
The real problem here is that Flash 8 is/was not a universal binary (i.e. an app that is supported on both the PPC and the Intel Macs).
So the included "FLV Exporter" QuickTime component does not show up in the export dialog even if it's installed as it just does not get loaded.
    (Should be in "NameOfSystemHD/Library/QuickTime").
If you update to Flash 9/CS3 you get a universal binary app and QT exporter component and it will work again on your (Intel) Mac Pro.
Btw., the Flash support that was in QuickTime had nothing to do with export - especially not with FLV - but with playback of Flash content.
Addionally, AE 7 isn't a universal binary either, so you will suffer some pretty serious performance losses.

  • Upgraded to CS4 and now no FLV export plugin in Quicktime

When using CS3 Master Collection (on Mac 10.5.6) I could use Quicktime or Apple Compressor (uses QT) to export .mov files to .flv files. Then I upgraded to CS4 Master Collection and everything still worked. Then I got tired of having all the CS3 programs still on my computer so I used the CS3 disc to uninstall CS3. Later I noticed the Flash export within Quicktime was gone. So I put back CS3 install disc and just installed the Flash export components and then the .flv export was back on Quicktime. Though I solved the problem, shouldn't CS4 (upgrade) have that plugin as well? Did I do something wrong? Are other things going to be missing or go wrong since I uninstalled CS3? Let me know what you think. Thanks

  • Better FLV export settings?

Hi - hope someone can help me with this dilemna I'm in.
I'm working on a video production that will involve a hearing person presenting training, a person next to him presenting it in sign language, and sub-titles.
I want to export the files as F4V files because they seem to be really clear, especially at full screen [1280x720].  The problem is when I export to F4V and then use Flash's default plain-vanilla player controller, none of the controllers have full-screen capability.
So I've reverted to this convoluted work-around where I export the video as FLV, and then I'm able to fool the Camtasia export settings, which has a full-screen player built-in, to "accept" this FLV file I exported from Adobe Media Encoder.
The end result is the Camtasia player with full-screen plays back my FLV file and also allows viewer to view it in full-screen.  I would love to use F4V but I'm just not smart enough to figure out how to make one of the player controllers built into Flash have the fll-screen capability, so I have to revert to this work-around.
However, the FLV video is not very good, so is there a way for me to boost the FLV export in Encoder so it looks much better?  Here are the FLV current export settings.  Also, here is 10-sec test clip.
    http://designerandpublisher.com/test/test-sequence.html

I don't think you will be able to get an FLV looking as good as the H.264 based F4V.
Better to switch the player to one that gives you the options you need.

  • Quicktime 7.1.3 not showing the Flash FLV Exporter option.

I have a macbook with FCP 5.1.2, Quicktime 7.1.3 and Flash Pro 8 installed.
The same as with my G5, but different release of FCP (FCP 4.5 HD in G5)
On my G5 all is fine. I see the FLV export plug in.
The problem is in my Macbook : I can't see the FLV export plug option in Quicktime (export) nor in FCP (file>export>via Qt conversion).
I've made the same installation process in both machines.
Perhaps a problem with the Flash 8 Professional installation on Intel Macs ?
    (That installation was well finished)
Anyway, I can encode with the FLV standalone encoder that comes with Flash 8 pro, but sometimes the plug in is a shortcut way to get a FLV file on the fly.
Could anyone help me to resolve that situation ?
Many thanks in advance. I always got a solution from you Guys!
    Daniel

    QuickTimeKirk, thanks for the reply.
Yes, I think as you that the problem is from FLV exporter from Flash 8. It is not Universal. I will not go backward with QT. I prefer to wait until the UB Flash 8 Pro see the light..... or Flash Pro 9 (for sure it will be Universal)
    Thanks again !

  • ProRes 422 (HQ) QT Export out of FCP getting error on re-import

The quicktime exports I'm producing out of my FCP system need renders when I drag them back into the project, into a seq. with the same exact settings they had on export. Even if I drag my export into the same sequence it was exported from!
    I'm trying to export a self-contained QT with current settings from a Pro Res 422 (HQ) 1920 x 1080 50i Sequence .
On creating a new sequence, I select the sequence preset  Apple Pro Res 422 HQ 1920x1080 50i, then cut in the media-- the media is a 90 min Pro Res 422 HQ quicktime from an online house, also 108050i.
Predictably, no render required. The frame rate, frame size, pixel shape, field, codec match between  the media and the sequence.
However, if I export  out of that sequence (using File – Export Quicktime; Self-Contained, Current Settings), then re-import the Quicktime and put it back in that same sequence or another new sequence  with the same preset settings, it needs picture render. This is only if my export selection from the sequence is at least a few minutes long. If I set an in and an out for a :30 sec selection and export that quicktime, I can play that back in the sequence with no render.
The fact that there's some difference between a 90 minute export from my computer and a 30 second export from my computer could be a clue.
Additional info-- I have tried creating a new sequence with the wrong settings preset to get the  FCP prompt "would you like to conform the sequence settings to match the file?" Then I click yes to conform settings and my quicktime export goes into the sequence-- with a red render bar. But if I then cut in the Pro Res HQ QT from the post house it will not need a render. These two QTs appear identical when I compare their item properties in FCP. On playback, in the viewer window, my export will appear a little stuttery.
Can anyone tell me what this means and if I can export a quicktime that does not need to be rendered to be played back in FCP?
    Many many thanks!
I'm running FCP 6.0.5 on a 2 x 2 GHz Quad Core with 11 GB Ram. Mac OS 10.5.6. I have media running off of 2 external drives, connected via eSATA. Drive Speed on the externals-- need to double check.

The Error I referred to in the title -- I am getting the message "clip settings do not match any sequence presets" when I try to cut my export into a sequence. Seems bizarre because it just came out of a sequence preset, not a custom sequence, using "current settings."

  • I need to reinstall Media Encoder CC (previous version than the current) because i need flv export...Any advice ?

    Hi,
Some client of mine still needs to get flv videos for his website, and i've seen that Media Encoder CC 2014 doesn't have this option anymore.
Unfortunately i already uninstalled the previous version, any way to get it back ?
Or is there any plugin for the current version that allow flv export ?
Any help would be really appreciated, i need to deliver ... tomorrow :/
    Thanks a lot !

ame is downloaded and installed with flash, after effects and premiere pro.  install one of those cc versions and see if ame cc is also installed.

  • OMF won't export out of final cut pro.

Exporting a 93min 1920x1080 HD timeline to OMF
5 second handles tried 2 second handles as well.
OMF won't export out of final cut pro. Get error message there is a 2 gb limit.
    Final cut 6.0.6
Have deadline. Didn't see it on any forum. Help!! Thanks!!

Seems like a weird thing to not be able to do since it's called final cut PRO...
Bagging on Final Cut Pro for OMF? HA! OMF has been around LONG BEFORE FCP was introduced. It isn't an FCP issue...OMF technology is VERY old. Over 20 years I believe. I used it on Avid...and it always had a 20GB limit.
You cannot deliver 1 track via OMF. You can ask the audio person. I know that Avid now allows you to export an AAF...but FCP doesn't do AAF. For embedded audio I think that OMF is the only way. SO you have to work within the limitations of that format.

  • Export out of DRM/Import into PeopleSoft

    Hello,
Do any of you have experience creating an export out of DRM to go into the PeopleSoft system to create trees?  The PeopleSoft system has a Tree Import; however a file needs to be in a certain format for the Import to work.  I wasn't sure if DRM was capable of creating a file in the correct format that PeopleSoft needs or if DRM should just export it's tree data and let the formatting be done by a different tool (ETL, App Designer, etc.).  We are on version 11.1.1.2.103.
Below is a high-level example of what the Tree Import file should look like.  The 999 lines would be the header lines, and each of the lines underneath the header has a different format (which is fixed-length).
    999TREE_VERSION
    Tree Version Data
    999TREE_STRCT
    Tree Structure Data
    999TREE_DEFN
    Tree Definition Data
    999TREE_USERLVL
    Tree Level Data 1
    Tree Level Data 2
    Tree Level Data
    999TREE_LEVEL
    Tree Level 1
    Tree Level 2
    Tree Level N
    999TREE_USERND
    Tree Node Data 1
    Tree Node Data 2
    Tree Node Data N
    999TREE_NODE
    Tree Node 1
    Tree Node 2
    Tree Detail 1
    Tree Detail 2
    Tree Node 3
    Tree Node 4
    Tree Node N
    Tree Detail 5
    Tree Detail N
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

how much i understand below are some points:
1- for tree format can be used DRM Export option tabbed output(Export-Style-Tabbed output).
2- For fix length attribute could possible to use Export- Target-Fixed width
you need to do some workaround to generate file as per peoplesoft requirement. Like Different -2 exports as per 999* header lines to meet requirement , hard code header if needed , club all exports in Book to generate one single file.
Please explain more on file format so that can try to help you better.
    Thanks!

  • When exporting out of lightroom the color of my picture channges significantly

I use windows 8 and tried exporting out of lightroom through firefox and this did not help either

Hi Shmuglak.  Thank you for the information.  I tried those things but did not work.    I just got windows 8 and just downloaded photoshop CC and Lightroom from the cloud.   My settings in Lightroom under preferences are :   Under jpeg preview it is checked on fast load data.   Under external editing the color space is prophoto.   Under additional external editor it is set to preset (Custom).  Under Default Develop Settings the only thing checked is apply auto mix when first converting to BW.   Under export module:   Location:   set to same as original folder and no check mark on add to catalog.   Under Post Processing I have tried do nothing and tried firefox.
It is funny that when I export a picture from lightroom using firefox that picture  pops for preview and the picture looks fine but then when I go to my email and try to email that same picture and use send with a file attachment the picture looks aweful on my desktop but when looking at it on the ipad or iphone the picture looks fine.
Any other suggestions would be great
    thank you

I don't know if this is your case but I have a similar problem (and has been helped out by some kind soul on this forum). The change of color may happen if you are re-importing the exported pictures into the Lightroom catalog. If this is what you are doing, some import presets may be applied and this may cause the color change. I'm talking about this setting, sheck if it is enabled. If it is, disable it and see if it helps.

  • Why are my photos desaturated when I export out of Lightroom 5 and editing with VSCO Film filters?

I have been excited working with VSCO Film presets, however when I apply them and go to export out of Lightroom 5 on my Windows 8 computer, my images are previewing very desaturated and muted in color. Some images are below. I thought it was a Color SPace issue, but when exported as sRGB as well as in its original space of Adobe RGB1998 it is still desaturated. Any help?? In Lightroom the colors are right, but my preview application is different.
    Thank you!

    Hi ssprengel,
    Here's some clarification:
Here's a screenshot of my raw image in lightroom without any presets:
Here is a screenshot of my raw image with the presets (the way I want it to look upon export):
Here is a of the jpeg exported out of LR:
(on my screen the jpg looks like what it should when I attach it, but I know once I post this it will not look like it. That's something I noticed when I posted my question previously)
I took you suggestion and re-imported the sRGB exported JPEG and it looks like how it is supposed to be with the correct saturation. Here's a screenshot of the jpeg reimported.
Here is a screenshot comparing the LR5 preview to the Photos preview on Windows 8. The LR5 (left) is more saturated, the correct way I want it:
I cannot use Windows Photo Viewer because this is how my photos look like in it:
Hope this all makes sense! Thank you so much in advance!

  • Question on exporting out to DV/DVCPRO - NTSC

I am trying to conform footage to my Easy Setup in Final Cut Pro and for some reason, it won't. My Easy Setup is based on the DV/DVCPRO - NTSC setup with the aspect ratio being 720x480. When I export the footage out, it gives me 720x480 (640x480). That's fine.
So I switch it to NTSC 720x480 4:3 and it still exports out as 640x480.
I try the custom option and type in 720x480 and it still exports out as 720x480.
What am I doing wrong? Is it trying to conform the aspect ratio to what the original video size is? Thanks.

What am I doing wrong? Is it trying to conform the aspect ratio to what the original video size is?
You are confusing the rectangular pixel encoding matrix (720x480) with the square pixel display dimensions (640x480). You must remember that DV was historically developed as a broadcast compression format to more closely reflect the rectangular pixel presentation of older CRT televisions having 720x480 rectangular pixels to display the equivalent of a 640x480 square pixel image.
So I switch it to NTSC 720x480 4:3 and it still exports out as 640x480.
I'm not quite sure what you saying you want to do here. If you were to display 720x480 rectangular pixels on a square pixel device (e.g., a computer monitor, HDTV, etc.), then at 720x480 square pixels the image would look somewhat squat with people and objects looking shorter and fatter than they should be because you have changed the aspect ratio from 4:3 (640x480) to 720x480 which would then have an actual square pixel aspect ratio of 1.5:1 (or 3:2) rather than 4:3.
As an aside, a 16:9 anamorphic DV file would also encode to the same 720x480 data matrix but (as long as the flag is not lost) actually play back at either 640x360 or approximately 853.3x480 depending on the application in use and you would see an entry of 720x480 (853x480) or 720x480 (640x360) on the player Inspector or Info window.
So, unless you are saying that your file has lost its anamorphic value (which can happen in some workflows), it sounds as if everything is working correctly.
