Flv from Connect shows no audio

I am trying to convert recordings I have made from Adobe Connect. I click the Make Offline option and it converts the meeting into an ,flv. I then need to convert that .flv into either a .wmv or a .mp4. When I play back the .flv file on another application the audio and video are there and synchronized. However, when I load the file into AME, when I hover the over the filename for information, it suddnely shows the .flv has no audio, which I know is not true since I can hear it clearly playing through another application. Obviously, when I then try to convert it, it converts without audio. I did not touch the screen size at all when makeing the Adobe Connect offiline since I read somewhere that that can interfere with the audio encoding.
What's the trick to getting this to work so I get both my audio and video into AME and thus into a .wmv or .mp4?

I can confirm that FLV recordings from Connect aren't going to work. Our importer only accepts audio in an FLV if it is encoded as MP3. The audio in an FLV created by Connect uses a codec (NellyMoser) which isn't supported in AME. You have two potential workarounds though:
Convert the FLV in a 3rd party app
If you have access to the original Connect meeting, you can download an MP4 from the Connect admin interface instead of creating an FLV. The MP4 will be supported in AME.

  • How do connect an RCA audio/vid cable from my laptop

How do connect an RCA audio/vid cable from my laptop?
thanks for any assistance you can offer on the subject

Depends on what input plug you'll be using on your TV. VGA, DVI or HDMI. You'll need a Mini DisplayPort adapter and a cable from that to your TV. Here's the various types of Mini DisplayPort adapters on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=min i-dvi&x=9&y=13#/ref=nb_sb_ss_sc_2_16?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=mini+ displayport&sprefix=mini+displayport&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Amini+displayport
If you connect the MacBook using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo sound system if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio with the HDMI plug. The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI doesn't carry audio unless you have the Mid 2010 model 7,1 and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.
If you have the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody or Late 2009 model 6,1 White Unibody with the Mini DisplayPort rather than the Mini-DVI there is an adapter that can combine video and audio to HDMI.

  • ITouch Firmware Upgrade - Can no longer connect to car audio system

I just upgraded to 3.1.1 last night on my iTouch and can no loger plug in and connect to the audio system on my Infiniti G35x. The iTouch shows that it is connected by the audio system shows that it isn't. I've checked the cables, etc and all is fine and can connect another iPod without any issues. Thoughts...?

This is a known issue that started with the 3.0 release, and it affects several auto manufacturers. I was hoping that 3.1.1 would fix this for my Honda, but no dice. Something changed either in the communication protocol or timing, but whose fault it is seems to depend on how many Apple products you own
You can step back down to the 2.x firmware ... search around for "DFU mode", I did it once and may do it again now that 3.1.1 doesn't solve this.

  • No output sound from output port/analog audio: Need help

hello, I want to connect my analog audio equipment to my iMac. I have done this in the past with my old G3. I have connected the RCA cables to a 3.5 mm jack and put it into the audio input port, which was what worked on the G3. When I open the sound page for input & output, on Output I can see the volume bar thing moving in relation to the sounds from mic, turntable, etc: all the analog audio things. However, there is no actual output of sound through the iMac;s speakers or a headphone. The output page is pretty simple so I am real sure I have all the rigt things checked, unchecked etc. Any ideas? Thanks.

I had what sounds like a similar problem to jazzzrat. i had my macbook setup to a stereo and it worked for over a year. suddenly no sound came out of the stereo. in my case, it definitely was a software setup thing.
plug in your stereo jack into the audio out port. then go to system preferences-->sound-->output. on there you should see, under "device for sound output": Name=Headphones, port=built-in output. (if you see name=built in speakers, you plugged in the wrong plug). Now go down to the bottom of the window and UNcheck the "mute" box, and make sure the volume slider is midway or more.
For some reason, mac allows you to mute the "headphones" and "built in speakers" selectively. we have no idea how that box got checked, that remains a complete mystery. but when we eventually found -- and unchecked -- the box, our stereo output came back just fine.
i hope this works for you. good luck and have a good new year.

  • Why can't I connect to my brother MFC-J4510DW printer wirelessly? The printer is connected to the router and I can surf the web. I wonder if some security setting may be keeping it from connecting to my MacBook Pro.

Why can't I connect to my brother MFC-J4510DW printer wirelessly? The printer is connected to the router.
I can surf the web. My wife can print from her PC wirelessly on it.
I wonder if some security setting may be keeping it from connecting to my MacBook Pro. I've installed the software, firmware and driver updates but
    it still shows "off line"
with the printer power on. Any suggestions?

All I can suggest right now is back up first the try to reset the printing system, (all printers in the list will be removed).
Then connect directly to the printer via ethernet or to the Mac using USB and restart the efforts you have made up until now.
As for router settings, it's possible but not likely that your router only allows a small number of clients. It's also posible that you have MAC address filtering on, lastly are you using the correct wireless protocol, (802.11a/b/g WEP or WPA etc)?

I may have already resolved this issue buy removing the device from my computer and re-pairing it. It is currently working just fine.

  • Creating FLVs from Final Cut Pro

I am trying to create an FLV from Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 on an
Intel Mac. I have intalled the exporter plugin but it does not show
up as an export option in FCP. Does anyone know why this is
happening? Do they not yet have an FLV exporter for FInal Cut Pro
    5?
I am stumped any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only way I could make it work was to open FCP using
Rosetta. This opens the program as if it were running on an older
(non Intel) MAC. The plugin should then show up where it is
supposed to. I guess they haven't come up with an Intel MAC plugin
    yet.
To open as a Rossetta program control click on the FCP icon
and click on Get Info. Then click on the Open using Rosetta
    box.

  • Does airport express stream directly to wireless speakers or does it need to be connected through an audio cable to an amplifier before the speakers

Does airport express stream directly to wireless speakers or does it need to be connected through an audio cable to an amplifier before the speakers?

I got an additional question bout this topic:
is it possible to use both at the same time? in my case cable-connected speakers in the living-room and an Airplay-speaker in the bathroom and/or kitchen?
so I select the Airport Express as Airplay-Output on my iPad and from there it's shared via cable AND wireless? this would solve the problem of being able to only select ONE Airplay-Output on my iPad at the same time...

  • CS4 - No video showing, just audio

Apologies for any code errors, posting on a iPhone!  Anyway, after a small rage on Twitter, I was redirected here from the adobe account and was invited to post for help, so here I am!  Basically, I've imported various files into Premiere and each time it's only showing the audio and not the video. I've tried .avi, .mov and .mp4 and they all don't work! I've also tried the small box above the preview box (3rd one across) and changed the RGB thing after reading something on google!  Any help would be appreciated, I need to edit a 1 minute piece for Uni tommorow so am in a big rush!  Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to the forum.
The most likely cause of such issues is either the lack of the Video CODEC, needed to play those files, or the inability of PrPro to use that CODEC to edit those files. The first things that pop into my mind are that they contain the DivX, or Xvid CODEC, or perhaps MJPEG. For the first two, conversion is the only answer, or to use another editing program, that can work with DivX, or Xvid. For the latter, the installation of the MJPEG CODEC will get you up and editing.
    See this ARTICLE on CODEC's.
See this ARTICLE on "wrappers," for AV files.
See this ARTICLE on MJPEG, if G-Spot, or MediaInfo (linked in the above article) tells you that it IS the MJPEG CODEC.
Let us know what G-Spot, or MediaInfo have to say about those files, and someone can point you in the right direction.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

That Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 Update has generally been discouraged by the Photoshop Elements gurus. But, I am not going to factor that into this at this point.
This is what I would ask you to look at in the Elements Organizer 9 accessed from the Photoshop Elements 9 or Premiere Elements 9.
    a. Create your slideshow in the Elements Organizer 9/Create/Slideshow/Slideshow Editor. Then use the Output option of Edit with Premiere Elements.
From your description, you are probably using the Output Option of Burn to Disc DVD which will take your slideshow directly in the Disc Menu section of Premiere Elements 9. The preferred transfer of the Elements Organizer 9 slideshow to Premiere Elements 9 Editor is by the non wmv route "Edit with Premiere Elements" not the wmv route of Burn to Disc DVD.
Let us explore if any of the above is involved in your issue and then we will decide what next if necessary.
    Thanks.

  • Macbook loses wifi, prevents other devices from connecting too.

    Hi guys
I have a strange problem whereby my macbook seems to lose its wifi connection, and prevent all other devices from connecting to wi fi either.
its very odd as the router still shows up in available networks with full signal, but I cannot connect to it and neither any other device, including ipads, mobile phones and various other windows laptops.
This can only be fixed by restarting the router, which is a pain as its tucked away upstairs!
I know its my macbook casuing the problem and not the router as the problem didn't exist until I came home from uni, and it hasn't happened at all over the last two weeks while my laptop was away getting a new battery. Today I got the macbook back and the problem has returned! More than a coincidence me thinks!
This can happen three or four times an evening and is very frustrating, especially for the rest of my family!
Once I have restarted the router the connection normally comes back, however sometimes I get an exclamation over the wifi logo in the menu bar, saying no internet connection.
My macbook is a aluminium 2ghz core 2 duo running OSX Lion with all the most recent updates, and the router is a BT homehub 2.0.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated!
    Thanks in advance.

I have had this problem after my (work provided) 2008 macbook was updated to mountain lion. I have tried all the suggested fixes with some success, resetting PRAM has occasionally sorted this out, deleting the wifi and then re-starting and restoring works, but is very tedious to do every time you need a connection!!
A further wifi problem caused by the update was the loss of access to passwords in keychain- checking the 'access by all applications' box in keychain preferences helped reconnection too.
The tip I wanted to pass on is this-
If you are having these problems, and resetting the wifi has sorted it out, turn off the wifi Every Time before you shut down the machine. This simple action seems to allow the mac to keep it's settings intact, and it can be turned on again without any problems the next time you boot the macine up.
The connection problems can't be hardware- this machine is as fast and stable as the new retina mackbookPro it sits beside- when it can see the signal......

  • Disable apple tv from connecting to other networks?

is there a way to disable apple tv from connecting to other networks? I try to limit the use of apple tv on the network that it is connected to, however, there are other networks in range that are not secure and can be used instead. is there a way to ''lock'' apple tv to only one selected network?

The main problem is that for protected content in iTunes AppleTV sometimes needs to get a playback authorisation across the internet.
I've never quite figured what triggers this but it's often when content is new and hasn't been played on the computer before.
I took AppleTV, iPad and MacMini on holiday where I had no internet access and created a LAN without internet.
It was impossible to Airplay protected content from the iPad but 90% of the protected content in itunes on teh Mac Mini would stream and play - some new kids shows I purchased and had not played before would not stream.
Don't suppose you can connect the computer direct to AppleTV via ethernet and see if that lets you stream and play without internet connectivity?
Alternatively can you seletively turn off your router at times to avoid AppleTv connecting - that usually makes it only display Computers (iTunes streaming locally) and Settings as teh other icons are generated dynamically depending on availability tested via Apple's servers.

  • Connecting an external audio system to a MacBook Pro...

I have a Boston Acoustics digital audio system that works fine connected to the audio card on my Windows XP system. I would like to connect it to my MacBook Pro. How can I do this?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

You're a little light on details there...
For example, are you trying to replace the Windows machine with the Mac (i.e. use the same inputs on the Boston Acoustics system), or are you trying to add the Mac in addition (i.e. use a new set of inputs).
Either way you need to look at what inputs you have available - e.g. RCA, toslink, SPDI/F, etc. - that will tell you what you need on the audio system side and you can then find the right option from the Mac.
The simplest option that most people use is just to use a simple audio cable from the headphone jack on the MacBook Pro and plug that into the audio inputs on the receiver. This is simple, adequate for most purposes, but it takes all the audio (including things like system audio) and disables the internal speakers.
For a step up in quality, the MacBook Pro has a digital audio output as well (built into the headphone socket) for which you'll need a special cable (search the Apple Store for the AirPort Express Stereo Connection kit).
If neither of those options fit then there are numerous USB and FireWire audio interfaces that can provide any number of outputs. Which one's right for you, though, depends on those inputs on the receiver.
