FLV not working in DW CS2

I have noticed a lot of posts on FLV files not showing when
using DW in CS2. I am using Leopard (10.5.1) on a Mac and i have
done everything according to the help files. I have Flash and have
used Flash encoder to encode to both Flash 7 and Flash 8 using the
the Sorensen Spark encoder as well as On2 VP6, then using the
insert Flash Movie to insert .flv file. Nothing works. Any ideas
welcome.

I think you'll find that all of them are related to user
errors, however.
In your case, you would use INSERT | Media > Flash Video -
is that what
you've done?

  • "open file" Not working with Photoshop CS2

    System
MAc Pro Dual Quad 3Ghz, OS X 10.5.2
I have a script that I wrote a while ago to take a series of individual bitmaps and compile them into a strip for access inanothe application. Script used to work well....
I tried to use the script today but ran into a brick wall when trying to open files from within the script.
below is an example of a script that will not work at all,
    tell application "Adobe Photoshop CS2"
    open file "AV:logo:rot0001.png"
    end tell
I normally pass the function a variable for the filenames...but the above script should work fine.. but flatly refuses to !
    Below is the Error returned.
Adobe Photoshop CS2 got an error: General Photoshop error occurred.
    - The object “current document” is not currently available.
    Arghhhh Help !!

    Hello
Perhaps your script used to work under pre-OSX10.5 (AppleScript 1.x) but now fails under OSX10.5 (AppleScript 2.x)?
If so, the most likely cause is the drastic change in internal text handling between them. In AS2.x, internal text is Unicode only, which might prevent PSCS2 from resolving 'file path_string' descriptor (when path_string is assumed to be plain 'string', not Unicode text).
Try the following code instead -
    tell application "Adobe Photoshop CS2"
    open ("AV:logo:rot0001.png" as alias)
    end tell
    Or -
set a to "AV:logo:rot0001.png" as alias
    tell application "Adobe Photoshop CS2"
    open a
    end tell
    Hope this may help,

  • Keyboard Shortcuts not working in Photoshop CS2

I'm using an apple 17" powerbook. 1 G RAM. OSX 10.4.3 . The Space Bar and other keys don't allow for the hand too or pen tips to change. It worked before. Anyone have a quick fix. I tried deleting my Photoshop Prefs in my User folder.

    I'm having problems as well.
    1. My brush decrease and increase shortcuts are not working and when I try to edit them in preferences I get a foreign language.
    2. If I type and try to arrow back or delete I get key strokes such as : or %.
    3. I can not nudge my objects the software is not responding.
    4. I can not simply copy and paste a layer, I have to duplicate it first.
When I loaded CS2 onto my computer I picked North American English as the language, I checked my computer to see if anything would be prompting the foreign language and everything is set for english. Please help as this is very annoying and I have to do all edits the old fashioned way which is what I was trying to avoid by purchasing CS2 in the first place.
    Thank you

  • FLV. not working in SWF within HTML page

I have created a SWF presentation which contains several videos as FLVs. The videos are uploaded to a folder on the clients server.
The exported SWF and HTML files of the presentations worked perfectly when hosted on my local machine but when sent to the client, who uploaded to their own server, the SWFs ran but would not play the FLV files within. When they changed the HTML files to HTM they worked perfectly.
However...when they embedded the pages into the content management system the use it required that the pages were reverted back to HTML, therefore the FLVs are not working again.
The 'still' frame appears where the FLV should be, but the skin and the video itself does not load.
Does anyone have any idea why this issue has occurred?
    Thanks in advance.

    @Ned
Not sure about the folder structure of their site, to be honest they've been a nightmare client from day one so getting information like that out of them has been nigh on impossible.
The flv files are all in a folder together and these are linked from the swf with this link structure: http://www.sitename.org.uk/folder/video.flv
I'm not entirely sure how their CMS is structured. I was throwing this question out on the off chance that someone had seen a similar instance where HTML/HTM file types had affected functionality.

  • Nudge function with arrows will not work in PS cs2

I recently installed photoshop cs2 on my pc with windows vista home premium. And the nudge function will not work using the arrows. Is there a work around for this?

so your saying that if it's fake...that specific function is a common flaw ?
    Exactly!
Unfortunately the full thread recounting this saga got lost in the forum changeover, but the fake copies come in authentic looking shrink-wrapped boxes with printed documentation; and everything works except the nudge.
    Or sometimes other keyboard combinations.

  • .flv not working on webpage

Tried everything I know and some.  Read thru some forums and really no answer.  It must be something simple I am missing.
I created These pages all have a flash movie on them (.flv) and all work.

    http://www.sd22.bc.ca/international/video.html

I use the exact same coding method to insert the movie into this page, and it does not work online
    http://www.sd22.bc.ca/~abed/teacher.html
Video is supposed to show just below resources heading.
    Please Help!!! Thank YOU

This page comes up blank and this is the player SWF.

    Some things to check:
Did you upload Scripts folder and FLV files to the server?
Are you sure the web server has support for both FLASH and SWF Mime types (check with your host)?

  • Some filters not working in photoshop cs2

The bas relief, charcoal, graphic pen, halftone pattern, photocopy, plaster, reticulation, stamp and torn edges filters are not working working for me for some reason.
I checked the image mode and it is set to 8 bit RGB like it is supposed to be, but for some reason it just makes the images Black and does nothing else.
    Here is a example.
I put in a normal jpeg image just like this one.
But when I put try and put one of those filter's on it the image comes out like this.
The image just turns plain black. Ive tried restarting photoshop but it doesn't fix the problem

Try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0
You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

  • Old serial # not working to reinstall CS2 on new computer

I installed all the disks for my old CS2 software on my new computer but when I open the individual programs, they give me an error reading "User name, organization, serial number is missing or invalid.  Application cannot continue and must now exit."  I spoke to an adobe representative who said that CS2 would not fuction with my new Windows 7 OS.  Is there any way to get the older version to work with the Windows 7 or is it incompatible?  I have the old serial number, coupon code (it was a student version), and customer ID #.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Did you run in compatibility mode for WinXP? If not, please do. The issue is simply that the data is actually there, it's just in the wrong place. Only inputting it in legacy mode will store it in the right location in the registry. and of course you will have to run as admin, turn off UAC and system protection as wel las any third-party security tools to avoid possible inetrference.

  • Apple Symbols font not working with Photoshop CS2...

This seems rather strange to me, but only a few characters will type....I've tried 'option+key' - 'control+key' - shift+key and 'apple+key' ....and the ones that show up, I do not even see in the font book display of this font. I have done a search and found a document about "special characters and symbols", but could not find the described character palette in PS.
Should I be using some other key - like an F key or something?

  • Type tool suddenly not working in PS CS2

    Hi,
I just loaded a new font (playbill) and suddenly the type tool is no longer working. There is no cursor visibly (just a dot) and when I type nothing appears. But PS allows me to try to warp the invisible text as if something is there. Opening an earlier Photoshop CS I can use the type tool and the recently added Playbill font.
Any ideas what's causing my lack of type tool functionality, and more importantly, how to get it back?
Done a restart and still a problem.
Thanks for any help in this matter.
    OS 10.4.11

    Neil,
hi, I've tried that, resolved some duplicates and removed a couple of problem fonts but still no luck with CS2. I also removed the newly added fonts but still no joy. Shut down and restarted. I have 205 fonts.
Would you suggest i reinstall CS2? Or can the fonts be reset? I'm not sure how fonts interact with CS2, especially when CS can handle them okay. A pathway has been corrupted possibly?

  • FLV not working with Flash 9 player

Ok, strange issue here. I've converted a file to FLV using
Flash 8, imported the video into Flash 8 and published it to my
site. When I try to view the video in IE (I'm on winXP by the way)
using the Flash 8 player it loads correctly and starts playing. If
I'm using Flash 9 player the video never loads. I can right click
in the area where the swf is and I get the Flash options so I know
the swf is loading, but the video from the FLV never loads. Any
    ideas?

I have the same issue. Everything works great in Flash 7 and
    8. I am playing .flv files from a different spot in the server and
I am calling them from a swf file.
In Flash 9 the file won't play. Here is my sample file:
    http://ce.byu.edu/cw/yase/.
The quick fix security.allowDomain("*"); has no impact on this
call. I am using my_video.attachVideo(stream_ns); to load the
    video.
I have changed the mime type in another server, restarted and
I have the same problem. Any help would be great!

  • .flv not working

I'm not sure this is the best place to post this question. If not please forgive me and direct me to the proper forum.
I have a website built in flash.  This site has video in the form of .flv.  When I open the index.html on my local machine the video plays.  The video and all other content is in the root folder.  When I upload the site to the server none of the video plays.  All other content including pictures are viewable.  If I copy all content to another machine the video will not play.  The video is linked to the .flv files in the root folder.  I tested by removing the .flv files from the root folder.  When I do the video will not play on the local machine.  Does anyone have any suggestions what might be wrong?  The site is
    kensdigitalart.com/newtest

By the way - I can see everything on the site in Safari, except for the Play Again video.  Looks like the pathing from the skin to the FLV is not correct, because the skin loads but the FLV does not.

  • Listener.8li plugin not working with PS CS2 ?

    Dear forum,
I tried to compile (Win 2000 / VC7.1 aka Visual Studio.NET 2003) and run the Listener plugin supplied with the PhotoShop CS2 SDK. I opened with VC7.1 the solution file (Listener.sln) and built it. As described in the "Automation tutorial.pdf", I then made a shortcut to "Listener.8li" in the PhotoShop CS2 "/Plug-Ins" folder, started PhotoShop and selected the new menu "File / Automate / Listener...". Photoshop then gives me an error messagebox :
    "Adobe PhotoShop
Could not complete the Listener command because of a program error.
    OK"
I also tried to copy the file directly to the /"Plug-Ins" folder, but the result is the same. I also tried to copy either the shortcut or the file itself to a subfolder of "/Plug-Ins", same behavior.
Then I exit PhotoShop and I get a GPF :
"Adobe PhotoShop: Photoshop.exe - Application Error.
the instruction at "0x08ab4f05" referenced memory at "0x08ab4f05". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
    OK Cancel"
The question is very simple : Am I doing something wrong ?
Is "listener.8li" functionnal "out-of-the-box" compiled with VC 7.1 on Win 2000 with PhotoShop CS 2 ? Or is some patching needed ?
    Thanks

Spent more time debugging this and I found the cause (and a workaround):
The cause is that an empty action palette causes the global gActionSet pointer to remain null (uninitialized), as ReadScriptParams() finds a null descriptor when called and returns immediately. Later call to DoUI() invoke DialogBoxParamA() and this in turn causes the dialog box window proc to be called for WM_INITDIALOG message. When processing this message, PIActionComboBox::Init()is called and attempts to do the following :
    error = PIUActionsGetName((char*)(gActionSet->c_str()),...).
This means that the gActionSet pointer is dereferenced regardless of its value, and when null, the exception occurs...
When a non-empty action palette is present, gActionSet is not null, and the crash does not occur. However, I could not find any hint in the documentation that this was a pre-condition for using listener.8li...

  • Transparent alpha channel in flv not working

Bringing a raw avi file into Premiere Pro 2, I applied a
color key effect to the background to make it transparent. I then
exported it as a flv file using Adobe's Media Encoder. The video
codec was set for On2 VP6 with the "encode alpha channel" box
checked. Importing this flv file into Flash 8 using Progressive
download in the wizard, I placed the flv on layer 2 and a
background image on layer 1. When I play it, the background image
pops up, then the flv, but the background image doesn't show
through the transparent area of the flv. Any suggestions on what
    I'm doing wrong?

Did you ever figure out what the fix is for your problem with
transparent video? I'm having the exact same issue and have tried
everything -- still no transparency (although my keying was done in
    AE).
