.flv not working in website

I have a website built in flash.  This site has video in the form of  .flv.  When I open the index.html on my local machine the video plays.   The video and all other content is in the root folder.  When I upload  the site to the server none of the video plays.  All other content  including pictures are viewable.  If I copy all content to another  machine the video will not play.
On the loacal machine, the video is linked to the .flv files  in the root folder.  I tested by removing the .flv files from the root  folder.  When I do the video will not play on the local machine.
Does  anyone have any suggestions what might be wrong?
The site is

@Ned
Not sure about the folder structure of their site, to be honest they've been a nightmare client from day one so getting information like that out of them has been nigh on impossible.
The flv files are all in a folder together and these are linked from the swf with this link structure: http://www.sitename.org.uk/folder/video.flv
I'm not entirely sure how their CMS is structured. I was throwing this question out on the off chance that someone had seen a similar instance where HTML/HTM file types had affected functionality.

  • FLV player not working on website

    Well recently I've been making a website, I'm recently new to Dreamweaver, and previously I had input two FLV's in two different AP div boxes. They both worked fine, but after creating a few more pages, I can only come back to see it broken. Instead of a play button with the bar, it's just a picture with the play, pause buttons all over it (attached). I'm really confused why, I don't think I edited it at all. I'm really stressing out because my projet is due tomorrow and this last problem just arises!
    Thank
    P.s I currently use Dreamweaver Cs6 on Mountain Lion Mac.

    Hello,
    we had some similar questions in this forum already. So my first suggestion is that you use the forum search function with the keywords from above. See e.g.:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/dreamweaver/search.jspa?peopleEnabled=true&userID=&spotl ight=false&containerType=14&container=2240&rankBy=date&q=flv+player+not+working+on+website
    To analyze better you should send us a link to your website in question, no matter how it looks like.

    Ctrl-T command do not work in website with flash
    == URL of affected sites ==
    http://

    If the Flash object has focus then key presses are processed by that plugin.
    In such cases you need to click outside that plugin (e.g. the menu bar if you can't click on the website) to make the keyboard work.

  • FLV. not working in SWF within HTML page

    I have created a SWF presentation which contains several videos as FLVs. The videos are uploaded to a folder on the clients server.
    The exported SWF and HTML files of the presentations worked perfectly when hosted on my local machine but when sent to the client, who uploaded to their own server, the SWFs ran but would not play the FLV files within. When they changed the HTML files to HTM they worked perfectly.
    However...when they embedded the pages into the content management system the use it required that the pages were reverted back to HTML, therefore the FLVs are not working again.
    The 'still' frame appears where the FLV should be, but the skin and the video itself does not load.
    Does anyone have any idea why this issue has occurred?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Arrow and space keys not working on websites

    I can't seem to get my arrow keys or space keys to work playing flash games on websites. An example would be this game: http://progressivefastandfurious.com When this game starts the car does not move anywhere because the keyboard keys won't work. What's odd is that they seem to work everywhere else (ex: typing doc etc.) This is not related only to this site but pretty much any flash or shockwave site that needs the use of the arrow keys. I also get weird responses when using the extended keyboard with the dashboard calculator. I assume these are coming from the same issue. I bought a new keyboard and my old one does the same thing.
    Dual 2.7 GHz PowerPC G5   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   2GB DDR RAM, airport, bluetooth

    I take back the "extended keyboard not working in calculator" it seems to be working now. As for flash, not so much. I also found out it is all keys that do not work in flash. Here is a good example:
    http://www.miniclip.com/games/base-jumping/en
    That game asks you to it any key to get started. I was not even able to do that. I also had focus set on the flash movie so I know it should have worked.
    In another game which is not flash but shockwave (director compiled file):
    http://www.miniclip.com/games/on-the-run/en/
    Hit the how to play button. The "P,S, and R" keys work but the other keys do not while playing this game. I am starting to thing I have some sort of accessibility thing turned on that interferes with certain keys. Anyone know of anything that may effect this?

  • .flv not working on webpage

    Tried everything I know and some.  Read thru some forums and really no answer.  It must be something simple I am missing.

    I use the exact same coding method to insert the movie into this page, and it does not work online

    Video is supposed to show just below resources heading.
    Please Help!!! Thank YOU

    This page comes up blank and this is the player SWF.

    Some things to check:
    Did you upload Scripts folder and FLV files to the server?
    Are you sure the web server has support for both FLASH and SWF Mime types (check with your host)?

  • Comments Not Working on Website - published to non-.mac server

    Hi there. I've read on a few non-apple sites of users having trouble with Comments and some other functions of their websites, built in iWeb, not working when they publish to a non-.mac server. I've built my website in iWeb, published via CyberDuck to a BlueHost server -- but now users can not post comments on my blog.
    Has anyone found a way to fix this issue??
    It seems incredibly pointless to even now have my own domain. I'm super close to giving up on iWeb all together because of this ridiculous issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    www.kellerowski.com

    Unfortunately, blog comments are a MobileMe only feature along with the hit counter etc.
    You have to publish to MobileMe if you want these features.
    There are workarounds however. If you want to continue to use an iWeb blog, then you can use a third party comments feature. Take a look here http://www.intensedebate.com. It is free to set up on the site and all you then do is copy and paste the code into an html snippet on the page you want comments to appear in whatever format you want them.
    Your other option is to ditch iWeb and if it is just a blog you want, use something like http://www.wordpress.com. This is free and you don't need a domain name and the blog is published on WordPress servers.
    Your other option for a blog is http://www.posterous.com.
    The iWeb blog system is not that good, so you might look into changing if a blog is what you want rather than a website.

  • Flash Player not working on website

    I have been getting complaints that my flash videos on http://www.lakefishingtechniques.com are not working right on safari moble. How can I correct this?

    The problem was the Shockwave Flash Object settings on Internet Explorer was not enabled.  I went to  the TOOLS pull down menu and selected "Managed Add-Ons" and then selected the "Toolbars and Extensions" and found that Shockwave Flash Object was not enabled.  Once I enabled Shockwave Flash Object everything worked correctly.

  • Published .swf not working on website

    Hi,
    I am new to Catalyst, and just finished my first project.
    It worked great when I went to "run project"
    I changed the name of Main.html to Index.html (left the main.swf)  and copied the "deployed to web folder" to the /public_hml folder in the FTP server.
    The problem is that when I go to my site address nothing comes up
    I am not sure what I am doing wrong! Anyone can help me please!?!?
    Thanks!!!!!!

    I don't mean nested SWF is not work in Flash Catalyst(FC). You can still import SWF to FC. But one thing important is. When your nested SWF have related image file outside the SWF file. You also need to copy this image file under the nested SWF directory. (same folder or create a Assets folder or not. It depend on your link inside nested SWF.)
    Hope this make this clear.
    I also use nested SWF from FP and FC. It work fine for me.

  • Dreamweaver FLV Plyaer not working on website

    Hey guys,
    I am completely new to website editing and to facilitate my life I have integrated Dreamweaver CS3's Media (FLV) tool to play videos on my website. It works fine in dreamweaver under live view but as soon as I preview it in browser it doesn't work I have also tried to access it online and it doesn't work. Basically I have uploaded 5 videos on the same page and all I get when I load the page are the video headings and white spaces (No signs of loading/buffering). Have any of you had this problem before? The website is http://www.soccerexperience.com/pg_media_astro.html.
    Thanks in advance for your helpful support

    @Sudarshan
    The mp4 videos inside a <video> will play correctly on HTML 4 sites - there is absolutely no requirement to change the doctype and it makes no difference to its function. It won't however validate as the <video> tag is not recognised as an element - it is just treated as a <div>.
    @YVanCrombrugge
    I am not really sure what is going on with your page however there are a few things you need to check/amend and see if it helps.
    The videos are cancelling on load. How have you encoded these videos?
    As already advised, use JW Player, YouTube or another video player - it will save some headaches.
    Your video_js script is returning 404 not found. You will need to check its URL.
    The main reason you have been advised on a video player is so the videos will play across all browsers. At the moment, without a webm or ogg video, FireFox can not play your mp4 video. An interesting note is that even though your video plays on the home page, a direct link to it doesn't load the video. Your video on the homepage also has a , in the filename. This should not be there.

  • Flash not working in website

    I'm new to flash and created a movie, tested it in Flash, put it in the htm, played it in Dreamweaver, it plays in browser (F12), but when I upload it to our website, there is nothing. I've attached the file. What am I doing wrong? TIA Rush

    Link is http://usxpo.com/pipe3.htm
    What I did was start with the flash on this page http://usxpo.com/pipe.htm,
    and add some more colors and table that has drape colors on it. It works
    fine in Flash (CS3) and in Control test movie/scene. In Dreamweaver it works
    fine also with test button and also when I F12 it in Maxthon and IE8.
    I did not make a new movie since I'm not too familiar with Flash, I just
    experimented and added buttons, colors, etc.
    Thank for the help

  • Button Not Working On Website

    I am somewhat new to Flash and have been teaching myself through tutorials. I am working with Flash CS6 and have created a movie and exported it as an SWF onto my website. In the testing area in the program it works and the buttons link to the web pages but when clicked on the website they don't go anywhere but still make the sounds and do the appropriate button up and down actions. Something shows up on the tab that is unfamiliar to me when the button is clicked: #.Uii5-4zD-Cg, I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not. Also, here is the code for each button:
    on(release){
          getURL(http://www.momandpopsmedicshop.com/ems_trousers.html);
    The website that the flash is on: www.momandpopsmedicshop.com
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    try:
    on(release){
          getURL("http://www.momandpopsmedicshop.com/ems_trousers.html");

  • .flv not working

    I'm not sure this is the best place to post this question. If not please forgive me and direct me to the proper forum.

    By the way - I can see everything on the site in Safari, except for the Play Again video.  Looks like the pathing from the skin to the FLV is not correct, because the skin loads but the FLV does not.

  • FLV not working in DW CS2

    I have noticed a lot of posts on FLV files not showing when
    using DW in CS2. I am using Leopard (10.5.1) on a Mac and i have
    done everything according to the help files. I have Flash and have
    used Flash encoder to encode to both Flash 7 and Flash 8 using the
    the Sorensen Spark encoder as well as On2 VP6, then using the
    insert Flash Movie to insert .flv file. Nothing works. Any ideas
    welcome.

    I think you'll find that all of them are related to user
    errors, however.
    In your case, you would use INSERT | Media > Flash Video -
    is that what
    you've done?
