.flv not working

I'm not sure this is the best place to post this question. If not please forgive me and direct me to the proper forum.
I have a website built in flash.  This site has video in the form of .flv.  When I open the index.html on my local machine the video plays.  The video and all other content is in the root folder.  When I upload the site to the server none of the video plays.  All other content including pictures are viewable.  If I copy all content to another machine the video will not play.  The video is linked to the .flv files in the root folder.  I tested by removing the .flv files from the root folder.  When I do the video will not play on the local machine.  Does anyone have any suggestions what might be wrong?  The site is
kensdigitalart.com/newtest

By the way - I can see everything on the site in Safari, except for the Play Again video.  Looks like the pathing from the skin to the FLV is not correct, because the skin loads but the FLV does not.
Here's a site map of your site as reported by a 'spider' (Xenu) -

  • FLV. not working in SWF within HTML page

    I have created a SWF presentation which contains several videos as FLVs. The videos are uploaded to a folder on the clients server.
    The exported SWF and HTML files of the presentations worked perfectly when hosted on my local machine but when sent to the client, who uploaded to their own server, the SWFs ran but would not play the FLV files within. When they changed the HTML files to HTM they worked perfectly.
    However...when they embedded the pages into the content management system the use it required that the pages were reverted back to HTML, therefore the FLVs are not working again.
    The 'still' frame appears where the FLV should be, but the skin and the video itself does not load.
    Does anyone have any idea why this issue has occurred?
    Thanks in advance.

    @Ned
    Not sure about the folder structure of their site, to be honest they've been a nightmare client from day one so getting information like that out of them has been nigh on impossible.
    The flv files are all in a folder together and these are linked from the swf with this link structure: http://www.sitename.org.uk/folder/video.flv
    I'm not entirely sure how their CMS is structured. I was throwing this question out on the off chance that someone had seen a similar instance where HTML/HTM file types had affected functionality.

  • .flv not working on webpage

    Tried everything I know and some.  Read thru some forums and really no answer.  It must be something simple I am missing.

    Some things to check:
    Did you upload Scripts folder and FLV files to the server?
    Are you sure the web server has support for both FLASH and SWF Mime types (check with your host)?

  • FLV not working in DW CS2

    I have noticed a lot of posts on FLV files not showing when
    using DW in CS2. I am using Leopard (10.5.1) on a Mac and i have
    done everything according to the help files. I have Flash and have
    used Flash encoder to encode to both Flash 7 and Flash 8 using the
    the Sorensen Spark encoder as well as On2 VP6, then using the
    insert Flash Movie to insert .flv file. Nothing works. Any ideas
    welcome.

    I think you'll find that all of them are related to user
    errors, however.
    In your case, you would use INSERT | Media > Flash Video -
    is that what
    you've done?

  • FLV not working with Flash 9 player

    Ok, strange issue here. I've converted a file to FLV using
    Flash 8, imported the video into Flash 8 and published it to my
    site. When I try to view the video in IE (I'm on winXP by the way)
    using the Flash 8 player it loads correctly and starts playing. If
    I'm using Flash 9 player the video never loads. I can right click
    in the area where the swf is and I get the Flash options so I know
    the swf is loading, but the video from the FLV never loads. Any
    ideas?

    I have the same issue. Everything works great in Flash 7 and
    8. I am playing .flv files from a different spot in the server and
    I am calling them from a swf file.
    In Flash 9 the file won't play. Here is my sample file:
    http://ce.byu.edu/cw/yase/.
    The quick fix security.allowDomain("*"); has no impact on this
    call. I am using my_video.attachVideo(stream_ns); to load the
    video.
    I have changed the mime type in another server, restarted and
    I have the same problem. Any help would be great!

  • Transparent alpha channel in flv not working

    Bringing a raw avi file into Premiere Pro 2, I applied a
    color key effect to the background to make it transparent. I then
    exported it as a flv file using Adobe's Media Encoder. The video
    codec was set for On2 VP6 with the "encode alpha channel" box
    checked. Importing this flv file into Flash 8 using Progressive
    download in the wizard, I placed the flv on layer 2 and a
    background image on layer 1. When I play it, the background image
    pops up, then the flv, but the background image doesn't show
    through the transparent area of the flv. Any suggestions on what
    I'm doing wrong?

    Did you ever figure out what the fix is for your problem with
    transparent video? I'm having the exact same issue and have tried
    everything -- still no transparency (although my keying was done in
    AE).

  • FLV components work one at a time, but not in unison!

    I've done this before so I don't know why it's happening. I
    have an FLV component and 3 other FLV player components: Volume
    bar, play/pause button, and seek bar. They all have instance names
    and control the FLV correctly, but the seek bar and volume bar do
    not like each other.
    When the volume bar works, the seek bar doesn't and when
    clicking on the little black triangle to change the volume, a
    yellow rectangle appears briefly around the seek bar triangle. If I
    go and delete the seek bar and drag another seek bar component to
    the stage, it will work, but the volume bar will not. Again, a
    yellow rectangle now briefly appears around the volume bar. Are
    these triangle thingys connected somehow? My movie plays fine - the
    play/pause button always works fine.
    Any insight into this?
    Thanks bunches!

    I figured it out, but it isn't really intuitive:
    If you go to
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/downloads.html
    and download the 1.01 Flash UI playback update, the readme
    file states:
    "3. Both seekBar and volumeBar custom components will not
    work if a UI Component is in the library
    If certain UI Components are on stage or even just in the
    library, they will prevent the FLVPlayback SeekBar and VolumeBar
    FLVPlayback Custom UI components from both working. The exact
    symptom is that one or the other of the two controls will work, but
    the other one's handle will be unresponsive when clicked. There is
    a work around for this problem, which is to wrap one or both of the
    SeekBar or VolumeBar in an empty movie clip, because the bug only
    occurs when they are both on the same timeline.."
    I put my seekbar in a parent clip I called seekFix and it
    works fine now.
    FLVplayer.seekBar = vid_system.vid_ctrl.seekFix.seeker;
    FLVplayer.volumeBar = vid_system.vid_ctrl.volumer;
    Interestingly I didn't need to update my components to
    1.01.

  • My own built fullscreen mode flv player is not working in Mac OS

    Help!!!

    I am running Mac OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite and iPhoto Version 9.6 (910.29). Automatic updates in the Mac App Store is turned on for my iMac and it shows no updates available. I was told directly by Apple Support on the date that I wrote this article (Nov 8, 2014) that there were no Canon drivers and photo transfer software that worked with Yosemite. I was told by Canon that the workaround was to change the communication method from Normal to PTP on the camera, which did provide a solution. At that time I was running Mac OS X 10.10 (because the 10.10.1 update was not yet available) and the most up-to-date version of iPhoto for Mac OS X 10.10 that was available at that time, at least per the Mac App Store. I was told by Canon that the workaround was to change the communication method from Normal to PTP on the camera, which did provide a solution.
    With the Mac OS X 10.10.1 update if the camera is in PTP communications mode the thumbnails now appear in the Import screen in iPhoto almost immediately. If the camera is returned to Normal communications mode; however, it takes forever for the thumbnails to appear. I have been waiting 10 minutes and iPhoto has generated only 14 thumbnails. So it appears that there is still something not working properly between the original Canon EOS Digital Rebel and Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 when the communications mode on the camera is set to Normal.

    Try changing the fileName:String to a simpler string name like "myAudio"....then try playing it.....if it works doing that....then the issue is with you converting that date variable to a string.......and if thats the problem try converting the value with   .toString() seperately and adding

  • Seek or start playback offset not working on big flv's

    Hello,
    I try to start a FLV (created with soundbooth cs5) at a certain point of time using ns.play('video', 33000) or even just ns.seek(33000);
    The FLV is about 9 hours long.
    How do I make this work ? And why is it not working?

    Do you face problem with all big flv files or just few set of files? Is it possible for you to pass on that files so that we can check at our end? But before you that - which version of FMS and Flash Player version are you on?

  • Embedded FLV Cue Points not working

    I am updating a project which uses an FLVPlayback component to play and navigate FLV videos using embedded Navigation cue points. The FLVs were originally encoded using an older version of AME, CS4 possibly. When trying to replace an FLV with a new one encoded using AME CS6, the embedded cue points do not work. Testing in Flash I get "VideoError: 1003: Invalid seek" when attempting to use "seekToNavCuePoint".
    Comparing the two FLVs using Premiere shows no recognizable differences between them. They are the same format, their cue points are named identically, all are designated as Flash Cue Points, and all set to type "Navigation".
    Digging into the FLV data, I've found that the cue point descriptions are formatted quite differently and I'm wondering if this is the source of the problem:
    Excerpt from the original FLV (AME CS4?):
         <rdf:li>
          <rdf:Description

             xmpDM:name="q1in"
             xmpDM:type="FLVCuePoint"
             xmpDM:cuePointType="Navigation"/>
    Excerpt from the new FLV (AME CS6):
         <rdf:li>
          <rdf:Description
           xmpDM:trackName="FLVCuePoint"

             </rdf:Description>
            </rdf:li>
    Completely stumped here, any ideas appreciated!

    More digging into the new FLV shows that while XMP defines the cue points as type "navigation", there is prior data in the file that defines all the cue points as "event". This makes sense, because my SWF is correctly listening for and reacting to an "end" cue point in the FLV, but will not seek to any cue point since they are all set as "event".
    Copying and pasting from Notepad++:
    cuePoints       0       name   q1in  time @BYûçl‹D  type   event

  • FLV player not working on website

    Well recently I've been making a website, I'm recently new to Dreamweaver, and previously I had input two FLV's in two different AP div boxes. They both worked fine, but after creating a few more pages, I can only come back to see it broken. Instead of a play button with the bar, it's just a picture with the play, pause buttons all over it (attached). I'm really confused why, I don't think I edited it at all. I'm really stressing out because my projet is due tomorrow and this last problem just arises!
    Thank
    P.s I currently use Dreamweaver Cs6 on Mountain Lion Mac.

    Hello,
    we had some similar questions in this forum already. So my first suggestion is that you use the forum search function with the keywords from above. See e.g.:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/dreamweaver/search.jspa?peopleEnabled=true&userID=&spotl ight=false&containerType=14&container=2240&rankBy=date&q=flv+player+not+working+on+website
    To analyze better you should send us a link to your website in question, no matter how it looks like.

  • Have FLV embedded on website - Not working on all computers

    It is working on all the computers that I have for testing but some of my clients say the video is not playing:
    http://lamplighttheatre.com       Under the Yuletide/Click Here for Tickets there should be an flv playing automatically.
    Works on my machines with IE8 IE9 and Chrome but is not working on client's machine with IE9.  Any suggestions?

    It may possibly be due to the client running an older version of Flash player. There's KB article on the subject here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/904/cpsid_90416.html
    I'm running Firefox 8.0.1 and didn't experience any issues with your site in any event.

  • FLV Player works locally but not on site

    I made a media player for the website I maintain and

    online. What did I do wrong? Here is the url:
    ruarts.org/f/media player flash/content/rcca

    Me thinks you have hard-coded some incorrect relative paths.
    For instance, one of your SWFs is here:
    http://ruarts.org/f/media%20player%20flash/content/frog%20bride.swf
    And the link to one your FLVs is this:
    http://ruarts.org/Users/stmcmast/Documents/media%20player%20flash/movs/respond%20park%2010 20%201.flv
    But the actual path to that same FLV is this:
