FLV publish

I have a large flash file published swf is about 40 megs that
I want to put on website. When I compress to avi and then to FLV
the quality of the text is not as good as SWF file. Is it possible
to publish to FLV or convert a swf file to FLV without the AVI
compression step. The file also has a sound track so any settings
for that to go to web would be appreciated.

you can use Moyea SWF to Video Converter Pro to convert SWF
to FLV, and you also set the audio effect, such as bit rate, audio
codec, and channels, this is what just you want
you can look for more information on

  • Imported FLV Publish Compression Settings?

I have a 5.2 meg FLV video a client has sent me. They want a
getURL script at the end of the clip so the Web browser goes to a
Web page after the clip is finished playing. To do this, I imported
the FLV into a Flash FLA document as "Embed video in SWF and play
    in timeline".
When I export this, the SWF is 5.2 megs, like the imported
FLV. The JPEG Publish Settings don't affect that.
Is there a way to compress imported FLV files?
    Thanks!

The FLV file is already compressed but need not be placed in
    the FLV file
creating the large file size. Rather, play the FLV as an
    external source.
Done this way, the compiled SWF file can be kept quite small.

  • Publishing as .avi

I'm still slightly a Captivate n00b, and since I'm the only one in our office that even knows what it is, troubleshooting has not come easy for me!
Here's my issue- I want to hang a video on our company website, and the programmers are saying that we need this to be in an .flv format. Now, there are no .flv publishing options in Captivate, so I figured to try exporting as a .avi and then converting from there.
When I go to publish the file, my issue is two fold- the exported file does not export to where I specify, and when the preview of the file comes up, I get a prompt that says "Error". I've tried a few different player options, and even when I do not get the "error" during the preview of the playback, I still cannot seem to get the .avi to export. And when I click OK with the "error occured" window, my publish options are still on the screen, so I know the file didn't export correctly.
I've attached a few screenshots... any help?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there
One suggestion I've seen involves making a small tweak to each slide. Basically you adjust the audio so there is a small delay after the slide begins. Perhaps .2 or .3 seconds.
Give that a try and see if it helps.
I think it was fellow Adobe Community Expert Mark Fletcher that reported that. I'm not sure if he developed the solution or simply parroted what another person found. In any case, I'm parroting him!

  • Fms is stuck

    hi all
I can't understand what the problem is with fms
from yesterday it simply doesn't work.
I check it with fmscheck -
fmscheck --host localhost --logfile logfile --app myapp
    --pubfile flv100_1.flv --publish fmstest_1 all
and see that tcp connection is established, but there's no
additional process of fmscore (I run fms on Centos5).
After a while the connections is timeouted. I haven't change
    anything, and restarts don't help.
In logs there's no any clue about the problem, just in
    master.00.log I see:

    2008-09-04 07:15:02 14178 (e)2571122 Server aborted.
and in logfile I could see only:

I suppose that session is not established, but why..?

  • Video in Flash8

I've been experimenting with video quality in Flash 8. I
usually have my videos as avi files and then import them in through
flash. However i can't seem to get the quality as high as i need. I
heard flash can do dvd quality with its videos, but i've been
unable to get that high. Does anyone know maybe some settings i
should make sure to use or how i could achieve this? I've
experimented with compressing my videos and using different
settings, also using raw files too, and i've even messed around
with flash's settings too. Does it matter when a video is embedded
vs external? If anyone could help shed some light on this or point
me in the right direction, i would really appreciate it.
    thanks!

    To JayCharles:
thanks for your help, now i understand that Flashplayer does
    the encoding,
so u mean the FLV published by FP8 is just the same as the
    one published by FP7,
all of them are based on Flash 6 standard, right?

  • FLV File does not play when published to my web server

Hi. I have created a short video in VC3 and selected the FLV option to create a web page. When I uploaded the entire file content to my web server (windows 2003 server hosted at Network Solutions) the FLV file will not play. Now... if I do the same with a WMV tile, the video plays.
You can view the file at
    http://www.airforcehomeseller.com/videos/va_education/VATutorials/index.htm
We have another video published in WMV format, although the video vs audio sync is out of wack at the moment, at
    http://www.airforcehomeseller.com/videos/Energy%20Pricing%20101/index.htm
    What am I doing wrong?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi again
You should probably double-check to ensure the standard.js file was also copied in when the HTML page was imported. It should be there but it never hurts to double check.
You might also perform a double-check to ensure things ended up in the correct folder (if you are organizing your project into folders). It could be that you moved the HTML page into a different folder and orphaned the JavaScript file.

  • How can I publish a project so that the link to embedded flv is not lost?

When publishing an Adobe Captivate 3 project, the embedded flv file does not play.
How can I publish a project so that the link to embedded flv is not lost?

I am not really sure, if I understand you right. But try this:
Don’t place a picture, but draw a box and use the "Fill" command to put a picture into it.
(Don’t click onto the color swatch, but onto the blue link "Fill".)
In this case responsivness should work.

  • Can't convert flv to mp4 when I publish to html5

    Hi
I have a project that  incorpporates FLV files which where imported succesfully.  When I publish to HTML5, the flv files fail to convert to Mp4.  Ironically, if I publish the entire project to mp4 it works?
    Has anyone got any ideas.
    Cheers
    Mark
Ps I am using Captivate 7

    REsolved
I have been using a third-party program to generate FLV files.  Although captivate 7 accept these files & publishes these files in certain formats (including mp4), the Adobe media encoder is unable to convert these files into mp4 format if you want to publish them as html5.  In order to resolve this, I had to bring files into captivate as either AVI or MP4 files. The Adobe media encoder then converts them to an acceptable FLV for captivate.  If I then publish to HTML 5, the media encoder successfully does the conversion.
As a quick test I tried to directly convert the third-party generated FLV files using adobe media converter into F4v files and then import them into captivate, however the Adobe media encoder would not recognise the flv format.
Therefore, if you come up with a similar problem, I strongly recommend that you bring in your video files as avi or mp4 and let the Adobe media encoder do its work.
    Cheers

  • FLV files not playing once AIR is published

    Hi,
I'm devloping an AIR application in Flash CS5 and man I'm having fun!
My current problem has to do with Flash videos that aren't playing once the Air file is published.  In the development environment they play fine but all f my rpoblems with Air seem to occur after publishing,  I did code the playing a bit differently than usual in that I passed the relative path to the video file once it was playing.  Are relative paths ok in Air?
    I'd appeciate any advice.
    Best regards,
    Chris McLaughlin

The solution lied in using an absolute path to the video files using: appPathStr
    videoURL = appPathStr + "/SubdirectoryName/videoName.flv"

  • .flv videos not appearing in published .swf

Hi, I have imported some .flv files into my Captivate project, but when I publish it as .swf the files do not show I up at all... I have no idea why... Can anyone help with this.

    Hello ,
Can you tell me the version of Adobe Captivate you are using (Go to Help > About Adobe Captivate) ?
Do you get any error message when you play the .swf output ?
    Thanks

  • Inserted FLV files not playing in a published project.

The issue: Inserted FLV files display (play) when previewing a project but not in a published project.
My setup: Windows XP and Captivate 5
    Questions:
       1) When in Filmstrip view only the movie playback bars show, not an image of the actual movie, is this correct?
       2) When I preview a project for the first time, the FLV files display (play) in Preview mode, HOWEVER, any time I preview the project after that, the movies do not play.
       3) When I publish a project, the inserted FLV files do not display (play), they only show the movie playback bars.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah, all the files are in the same directory.

  • Inserted FLV not playing in published files

I am trying to insert an FLV file but keep getting the following error when trying to publish:
"The Flash video can not be loaded. The output may not be proper." When I try to run the output files the video player is blank.
    I am using Captivate 5.5.
The FLV file plays correctly in preview mode and also plays correctly when I play it independantly using a media player.
The file is located in the same folder as  the CPTX file and the output SWF and HTM outputs.
I prefer to use the insert FLV option as it provides the playback controls which aren't available from the Insert Video option. It does play correctly using the Insert Video option.
    Please help!
    Alex

I have discovered something really unexpected. I tried publishing to the EXE format which worked. If I then published in the Flash format it works! If I try to publish again it reverts to the old problem.
    Is this a bug?

  • 2 out of 6 imported flv files pausing on frame 1 when published

    Hi,
I have six Scenes, each scene has an imported FLV file.
I have a 6 button menu that works fine when clicking from one scene to the other.
The problem is is that videos 1 to 4 play fine when I switch to the scene, but FLV files 5 and 6 just stay paused at frame 1.
If I test the Scene using Ctrl+ALT+Enter, the Scenes work fine.
But Only if I either hit Ctrl+Enter to render the whole project, or if I publish the file, do the FLV files pause on frame 1.
All 6 videos are coded exactly the same way.
    Any suggestions please?

I'm wondering now if it some sort of memory thing or SWF limitation thing
The Scenes are Lessons 1 to 6
If I publish the SWF, then Lessons 1 - 4 play fine, 5 and 6 just sit at their frame 1 as if paused.
    If I move the scenes around to say: Lessons, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 4
    then 5, 6, 1 and2 play but now 3 and 4 are paused.
so it seems it affects the last 2 of the six scenes.
any one got any idea on why this might be happening?

  • Problems trying to publish a flash file with flv component onto a dreamweaver site

Hi, I posted this on the flash forum too, but maybe here is
    more appropriate....
if anyone can help me out with this, I would really
appreciate it. I have put a flv file into a flash document,
published it for progressive downloading (the video lasts about 4
minutes) all seems fine when I test the movie.
I then wanted to embed it into my website. Everything seems
fine there too, except that when I preview it in a browser, it
    looses its skin.
I copied the swf file and the skin into my remote server
along with the flv file that is placed in the swf.
However when i upload the page, there is no video.......
Is the file to big? Or have I done something wrong. Is there
a script that I'm supposed to do?
Sorry to seem stupid, I'm learning as I go along from the
help topics, and I cant seem to find my answer,
    Thanks
    John

It had me puzzled too until I realised I had exceeded the
amount of webspace my ISP had granted me. By uploading a FLV file
to my ISP, I had exceeded the 100mb they grant me for nothing. It
was tricky to work this out because there didn't seem to be any
indication that the flv file hadn't uploaded.
Check your webspace allocation to see if it's the same
    problem.
