.FLV Video will not work when linked to on intranet (Captivate 5)

I have a project with video (.FLV).
1. Project was developed and published to a folder on the local hard drive of a PC.
2. Project was copied to my company's intranet server.
3. If I click on "My computer" and navigate to the network folder where the project is, the project and video work fine.
4. If I LINK to the project (say to send the location to someone in an Outlook message) the project WILL open, but the video will not (reads "Connection Error").
I did add the video to the library of the project. The video file is in the same folder as the published project.
I have worked with support over the phone and wanted to try something different before calling back. The solution they gave me was to zip the project. I haven't tried that because it will not be practical for my small hospital. My users will need to be able to click on something and make it work, they may not have admin rights to the pc or the knowledge/desire to unzip a file.

I thought I'd add a few comments in addition to Rod's good suggestions. For the benefit of others who may follow this thread in the future where their .flv is stored on a web server or MS SharePoint. I'd suggest checking with the web server administrator to assure that the server accommodates the .flv "mime type". This is often the problem when you see the "Connection Error" statement.

Here's how a similar problem was resolved between PS and BR.
The issue was confirmed by ChunXiaYang at Adobe staff and solution put in the forum discussion on June 19 (no. 13). Here's a copy:
I have confirmed that this is a known issue before release. And the workaround is to uninstall and reinstall PS 2014. Then Bridge can be launched by selecting 'Browse in Bridge' in PS2014.

I did this with a fresh install of the entire CC package. As soon as the CC packages updated, CC Bridge broke. Unistalled CC PS, reinstalled again, CC Bridge works, but CC PS updates itself again, and breaks CC Bridge.
You know... The whole move to CC has been a massive cluster... I've struggled with the CC packages for my entire subscription year, and now I'm 1.5 month away from needing to throw down another $720 for no reason what-so-ever, just so we can Beta test your really screwed up subscription services.

Transferred CS4 to new MacBook Pro, now some fonts will not work when PDFing documents from InDesign CS4. Help!

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro. I transferred my CS4 from my older MacBook Pro to my new computer, and although it seemed to be working fine now some fonts will not work when PDFing documents from InDesign CS4. These fonts are installed on my new computer, can be found in InDesign CS4, and work fine within the program but will not appear in PDFs. The letters turn into rectangles. Does anyone know why, and how to fix that?
Help/input would be much appreciated. Thank you!

you should properly install adobe products, not move, migrate or otherwise transfer them.

What is the error that you are seeing? Try to login using another App like GameCenter or iMessage? Also try logging in to other Apps like Facebook to check if it is your Internet connection problem.

But they work normally when not plugged in? What kind of power source are you plugging it into? It maybe outputting more than what the iPod can handle. I had this happen to an iPod I plugged into a powerstrip that was plugged into the cigarette lighter in a vehicle an experienced the same thing.

Exchange email will not work when offline

Anyone know when Apple will fix this issue? Email will not work correctly unless connected to wireless. This makes it impossible to be productive while flying. This is exclusive to exchange servers as it woks on POP accounts.

I know that. When I work on my laptop I can file, reply, delete etc. and when I land it updates all the folders and sends and recevies all the mail. the iPad will not let you file or delete emails unless connected. This makes flying time completely unproductive. If I have to have a laptop to do email why have an iPad???

HP-2840 needs new drum (Q3964A) and I am told my printer will not work when I install a new drum

My HP2840 laser jet All-InOne has been telling me for 6 months that I need a new drum. I was waiting until I saw an issue with my print quality (which I never had a problem) and now my printer will not work unless I replace the drum.
A friend told me that even after installing a new OEM drum, that my printer will still not work unless I call HP and pay for them to tell me how to make it work.
Is that true?
I need help fast cause now my wife is really angry that I "broke" the printer!

Videos will not work!

I'm having 2 problems with videos:
1. About fifteen of my videos will not transfer to my ipod, when I try to drag and drop them nothing happens at all. They are in the correct format (mp4) and ten other videos had transferred without a problem, just for some reason those fifteen will not. How do I get them on my ipod?
2. I downloaded a movie from itunes and it transferred to my ipod fine, but when I try to play it on my ipod all it does is shows a loading screen, then turns black and freezes my ipod. What's wrong here, and how do I fix this? This one should definately fit the specifications required for ipods because it was purchased from the itunes store.

HT2204 Itunes password will not work when I purchase items after reseting passwords

Have used Itunes for years with no incident. Now, every time I try to purchase a song, book, app...it prompts me for my username and password. Despite knowing it....it will not work. I've logged out / logged back in several times no luck. I've updated my password successfully. But again, each time I try to purchase something, I type in my username / password and it says that it is not correct. ***. Have recently even updated Itunes to make sure everything there is up to date. Is there some virus that could be involved here. HELP!!

Responsive videos will not work

In Captivate 8 I have inserted two video files both mp4 format. It is a responsive format and the videos will not load on iPad. What am I doing wrong????

This is a copy of the code in Dream Weaver... I feel like it should show the video file name somewhere.... Captivate changed the file names to Vi2.mp4 and Vi4.mp4. Any thought on this being the problem?

Videos will not work in Firefox but work fine in windows explorer. why?

I tried to verify my plug-in's and all are enabled. I found where was suggested to remove and reinstall Firefox but that did not fix problem either. I tried to change viewer for videos but still no luck. Not certain why Quicktime doesn't work. Note, videos when browsing will not open but everything else works fine. Videos work fine with windows Explorer, but not Firefox.

Videos will not play when Adobe Flash is installed

I have always used Adobe Flash, and never had a problem with it. When I installed the lastest release several months ago, I discovered that videos would not play at all. It's not just You Tube either; it's whatever site I visit. Six months of dealing with that was too much, so I uninstalled it, went online to look for an alternative, and guess what? The videos play just fine at MOST sites. Others say that I need to install Flash Player.
This is confusing, especially since I have no idea as to why this is happening. At the moment I do not have Flash installed, but I do need to resolve this. Any help would be appreciated, as far as ideas, recommendations etc. Thank you.

YouTube is almost finished with the transition to HTML5 (MP4). The reason thay've done this is to be accessible to phone and tablet viewers who can't use Flash. Javascript in their pages determines if a browser has Flash Player, and if it doesn't, the page will display video in HTML5. THAT's why you see what you do there. NOT ALL websites have done this though. Yahoo is working on it, as are Hulu, Dailymotion and others. NetFlix has switched to SilverLight for playback which causes its own problems if you don't have THAT installed.
Add to this mix, Microsoft released (without any "real world" testing) IE 11 almost two months ago (October 18) and it's been a nightmare to say the least. Pages/Sites don't recognize it because they screwed up some code in it, and... if a page or site can't recognize the browser, it certainly won't recognize any plug-ins it uses. Not a problem for HTML5 video which doesn't require the Player, but Facebook games, Pogo, and many other Flash sites DO require a browser and plug-in that the code recognizes.
