FLV won't display upon upload

Here is the directory:
http://www.jrazzcreations.com/Flash/
I have the files stored there. I can view the video upon
preview, but no such luck after uploading. Can someone tell me what
I am missing or what I need to do differently? I am using Flash CS3
and Dreamweaver CS3.
Thanks,
j razz

That FLV is massive at 153mb. It probably will load if you
give it an hour
or two on broadband.

  • Dynamic gallery won`t display once uploaded on FTP

Hi, I builded this dynamic gallery page that display the
pictures using an UI Loader component.
When I test the movie in Flash the gallery loads and displays
the external picture with no problems. However, once the html and
SWF file are upoladed on line you can see everything correctly but
the clickable thumbnails won`t open any picture.
In the FTP I`m keeping the same exact path as my directory.
    The code says
    btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ldr1)
    function ldr1 (e:Event) {
    my_ldr.source = "PICTURES/FASHION/fashion1.jpg";
So, I have a PICTURES folder in the same directory as the SWF
and HTML document and inside of it I have the FASHION folder
containing the pictures called "fashion1", "fashion2", and so
    forth...
I can send more code if necessary. It seems a pretty
straightforward process and it should work, but I can gigure out
    why is not working.
    Anybody have any idea why?
Here` s the website in progress
    http://www.erinbarry.co.uk/staging/home.html

I see in the directory tree of your web host that all of your
jpg's have all caps for their extensions (fashion1.JPG not
fashion1.jpg). If you change the path in the Flash or change the
filenames this will work. Often, your local computer OS doesn't
care about caps vs no-caps, whereas web servers often do care, and
in this instance your web server does.
To test this, if you put "
    http://www.erinbarry.co.uk/staging/PICTURES/FASHION/fashion1.jpg"
into the browser path you get a "404 Not Found" error. If you
    change it to "
    http://www.erinbarry.co.uk/staging/PICTURES/FASHION/fashion1.JPG"
    you get the image.

  • Image won't display after uploaded

I created a text gif and inserted it into the page.  Then entered the URL info etc...  However, after being uploaded the image isn't there.  There is no box with a red thing in it like what appears when the image is not in the correct folder..... just nothing.  Like I never did it.  I verified that the image name is correct and in the images folder.  Weird.   Any ideas?

I created a text gif and inserted it into the page.
What's the filename of the text gif?
I see the following GIFs referenced in the code:
    http://www.wranglergirl.net/images/banner_logo.gif
    http://www.wranglergirl.net/images/address_logo.gif
    http://www.wranglergirl.net/SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarDown.gif
    All have loaded correctly.

  • SWF won't display once uploaded.

I'm in a pickle here. I've looked at this multiple times, and looked at multiple pieces of advice, and multiple posts, and still can't find the answer, and don't see what I'm doing wrong.
I'm working on a website that has SWF embedded. I had to make some changes to one of the (existing - not created by me) pages, and that meant having to shuffle around a couple of SWF videos. I preview it and it looks fine, but when I upload it...the videos AREN'T THERE.
I've tried all kinds of things - linking it to the SWF file's URL on the server (in case it was looking for it on my local drive), etc. etc. But nothing works. Is there anything I can do?

It works with JavaScript turned off, indicating a problem with JavaScript.
These two files are 404 Not Found:
    /bettie-page/Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js
    /bettie-page/Scripts/AC_ActiveX.js
Upload your Scripts folder and all its content.
Note: Usually the Scripts folder is found on the root of the site, but your page expects to find the Scripts folder in the bettie-page folder.

  • ITunes won't display recently uploaded movies

I'm on iTunes 10.5.2 (11) on an iMac running OS 10.7.2.
I've got a decent sized video library with over 200+ movies (family DVD's and home movies).
I've been using Handbrake and creating videos for 2+ years that work just fine in iTunes, on my ATV's and my iOS devices.
This morning, I created a new video (via Handbrake), dropped it into iTunes and it didn't show up in the movie list.  I made sure it wasn't tagged or encoded oddly and I just couldn't find it anywhere.  Then I looked in the iTunes folder in my home account and the video was sitting there.  I re-ripped the video, tried again and no different result.
I then took a family / home movie, ripped it with Handbrake and imported to iTunes and it wouldn't show up within iTunes either (although it clearly was in the folder in my user home / music / itunes as it should have been).
I then took an older movie that I had archived out of iTunes (but used to work just fine) and tried to re-import that and the same result.
    So the summary is :
-- I drag and drop a movie that is in a format that has worked without issue in iTunes
-- Within the iTunes window, I see the message that it is copying the movie
-- I see the movie in the iTunes folder in the user home
-- But I can not see nor search for the movie within iTunes.  Its like the list within iTunes is broken and no longer will allow updates
I've restarted iTunes a couple of times, done full shut downs of the Mac, run disk utility on my internal HD just in case...but no change in behavior.
Any ideas on what could be holding me up here?
    Thanks,
    Scott

Found enough references to issues caused by a corrupt iTunes plist that I pulled this out of the library and tried iTunes without it and that seems to have solved the problem.

  • DW8:  image won't display in Design View

    Folks:
DW8 on MacOS 10.4.8 (fully updated) on Intel iMac.
What would keep an image from displaying in DW Design View?
What are the causes of the grey box with the superimposed "X"? Is
there any diagnostic output that might help? Is the grey box and
"X" substituted by DW8 for an invalid or un-drawable graphic, or is
    this done by the OS?
    The problem:
    I've got a 1912 x 1481 graphic, a geographic map, in AI that
I'm trying to use as an ordinary web image, but DW won't display it
in Design View. Instead all I see is a big grey box and "X". For
test purposes, I'm starting from a new "Basic" HTML web page and
all I'm doing is inserting this one image. I need to get this
working so I can draw hotspots on this graphic to make it
    "clickable" .
    Here's what I've tried:
o Triple-checking that the inserted image reference is
correct. Yes, the image file is correctly linked. With the image
selected, the inspector shows a tiny but recognizable miniature of
the expected image. Further, when the page and the image are
uploaded to the web server and I look at it via a browser, the
expected image is _always correctly displayed.
o Exporting the graphic "for the web" from AI as both a GIF
and a medium-quality JPG. Neither of these are displayed in Design
View; both are served up correctly after being uploaded
o I found a larger JPG on a different site I'm managing. This
always displays as expected in both DW Design View and when served
up. I substituted the failing map JPG image. The result: A grey
    box.
o Checking the map images: The JPG and GIF versions seem to
be visible in all environments (image readers, browsers, etc.) I've
    checked _except_ DW8 Design View.
o Checked on another system. I made the failing image
available to a very helpful ACE, who performed a similar
experiment. It worked fine for him. I used his exact HTML and
directory structure -- and it failed for me. Grey box with "X".
It seems to me that I've checked most of the obvious
possibilities. Now it is time to check the less obvious ones.
    Suggestions are very welcome!
    Thanks,
    Henry

    Randy:
    Thanks for your response.
This is a virtual memory system, so -- in theory-- it should
accommodate anything that will fit on the hard drive, more or less,
if I'm wiling to wait the hours (days?) it will take to swap on and
off the disk. That assumes DW8 takes advantage of the capability.
    It may not.
"Larger"? The JPG image I compared to is 1692 x 2160 pixels,
but weighs slightly less, 289K bytes. I'm losing track of all my
test images that fail, but a representative one is 1912 x 1481
pixels and weighs 332Kb on the disk. "Roughly comparable" might be
a better description. The point is still reasonable: DW8 does
handle images of this size on my system.
One issue that occurred to me recently is that I may have
caused some grief by monkeying with the "Save for web" settings at
the Illy export. Perhaps I asked for some configuration that's
normal for Illy to export --or it would have warned me, I hope--
but too strange for DW to grok. DW should complain more
informatively than painting a gray box and "X" when that happens, I
    would think.

  • .flv doesn't display in browers

Problem: progressive FLV doesn't display in browsers
This is what I did: 1) inserted flash video (about 5 MB and
encoded in Flash Video dEncoder CS3) into a DW page. 2)Saved and
checked that it plays correctly in DW preview. 3) uploaded page,.
FLV and required FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf to server. 4) Checked
with server; they allow progressive FLVs. 5) From Adobe.com I
downloaded and replaced FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf in my local
folder in case cross-scripting vulnerability=the culprit.
6)uploaded new FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf to server. Tried it at
root level and in folder analogous to local file. 7)Cleared
browsers' caches, histories. Refreshed page. 8) did all of this on
Mac OS10.4 and Windows XP (except #5 because Adobe site has 404

notified Adobe about 404 three times.)

  • Safari won't display graphics for some web sites

There are some sites that Safari won't display all of the graphics. For instance, nissanusa.com opens to a blank page with a little "feedback" symbol in the lower right corner. Similarly, the infiniti.com page has some text but no graphics. Both pages open fine on Firefox. There are other pages, but I prefer not to have to switch back and forth between browsers. Am I missing a plug-in that I don't know about?
    Phil

Sorry, Guys. Somehow I screwed up when I installed the new Safari with Leopard. I don't remember accessing the preferences for Safari and thought they remained the same as for Safari 2. However, upon checking, I discovered the "enable plug-ins" box unchecked. Checking it solved all of the web site problems.
Peter, Thanks for your response. For informational purposes, on Safari 3, the "enable Flash" button is no longer hidden in the Mime settings tab. Now it's on right on the advanced page of the Quicktime preferences.
Again, sorry for my screw up and thanks for your help!

  • Director mx 2004 won't display Flash 8 swf files & other Flash media

I have created a Flash 8 Project which has audio, video (which are converted to swf files fom flvs), flashpaper.  This application is driven by XML.
However  this application works fine outside director, but when I import the main swf file into director mx 2004 and RUN it, director won't display the videos (but I can hear the audio from the videos), Director wont show graphic images(eg menu icon movie buttons, and flash buttons). Also I can launch external files (eg text file) from flash, but again it won't work via director.
    ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

    ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE
I suggest there's no need to shout.
Try linking the Director cast member to the external swf file instead of fully importing it. You also should have the 10.1.1 update in place - this is particularly important.

  • Template page won't display on the web.

One of my web pages was saved as a template and won't display graphics when uploaded, just code.  It has the extension dwt.  I thought probably what I should do is make
an html page copy and use that.  I don't know how that is done, or if that would be the best solution.  Any help would be appreciated.

You should never publish your Template.dwt file to the web except to have as a backup in case your Template ever becomes corrupted or lost.
Templates are a proprietary DW file type used to create the rest of your site pages.  Go to File > New Page from Template.  Select your .dwt file and hit create.   The resulting new page is a child page based on that main template.  Save as index.html (your home page).  Repeat with other site pages.
Add editable content to each of your child pages.  Everything outside Editable Regions in the template will be populated to all child pages -- very handy for site wide menus, headers, footers and sidebars.
When you edit a template, you must re-publish all child pages based on that template to your server.
For more details on the use of DW Templates, use F1 Help in DW.

  • CSS won't display on DW page files to which template is applied

CSS links fine to template, but when applying template to page, styles won't display even though path to CSS file is correct in template.
When file is uploaded to server it links just fine to CSS and styles display online as they should.
    See: http://dstall.com/sfm/
But I cannot see page as styled when working on files.
This is very annoying as I cannot see what final output will be when laying out my pages because styles won't display in page files, only in template file.

    change this:
    <link href="css/sfm.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <head>
    to this:

  • How to display the uploaded file

    Hi All ,
I have the below requirement .
    1. Upload the file  (any file type)  -- no problem done with FileUpload UI element.
    2. Display the uploaded file as icon or link .
    3. User should be able to delete the uploaded file using  icon or link (depends upon step2 ).
    I am struggling with step2 and 3 .
    Please guide me
    Regards,
    Ravi

    Hi,
You can use the file download UI element for your requirment. You will have the Resource type context that is used to bind the File upload UI element. bind the same context to the file download UI element. And hence without any extra coding your requirment is achieved.
For deleting the Uploaded file delete the context element of type reource.

  • How to I get an FLV Skin to display on external sites?

This is thee most frustrating thing! I've been trying to get
my FLV skin to display on other sites when embedded, but the video
    is the only thing that shows up. There are no play back controls;
nothing! I can view things just fine on my site (so that is NOT the
problem) – it's just not displaying on other sites.
I am using an FLV component and I do have all the necessary
files loaded in the same folder. It's just when I try embedding the
SWF file on an external site, the only thing that shows up is the
video w/ no controls or skin.
Is there embedding code to include the second SWF file?
    OR
Is there a better way in creating a SWF file that includes
the FLV component? ActionScripting or something that needs to be
    added???
If so, please explain! I got ALL DAY AND NIGHT! This is
driving me up the wall. There is NOTHING on the web that talks
    about this.
    Thanks!!!!!

I found a link which informs that not all servers allow the MIME type for "f4v" files. . .
    http://forums.devshed.com/flash-help-38/how-do-i-make-f4v-files-play-in-a-web-610155.html
Also, when I tried inserting a FLV object using Media>FLV the menu option only allowed me to insert FLV files, not F4V files.  So that comes back to the issue of what type of container you would be using since the Dreamweaver FLV container does not support F4V.
