FLVplayback doesn't download progressively

Hello,
1) I have an flvplayback component that loads mp4 files rendered with H.264. I have used QTIndexSwapper to move the MOOV atom but still, my videos do not play until they are loaded (I also tried Sony Vegas mp4 rendering with Progressive Download option checked).
2) Also, on the same flvplayback I load multiple videos when buttons are clicked. What is the difference between myPlayer.load and myPlayer.source (AS3 parameters) for the component? Could that be the issue?

i've never had any problem but i don't use any of the 3rd party tools you mentioned. if autoPlay is true, the video will start to play as soon as the source is assigned and enough video downloads to fill the buffer.
the load() method allows you to start loading a video and NOT start its play until you specifically apply the play() method (or some other way start play).
assigning the source is the typical way to play a video with progressive download (when autoPlay is true - which is the default value).

How to monitorize the 'createPlayer(URL)' download progress?

Hi,
I need to show the progress while a video is downloading from MMAPI: Manager.createPlayer("http://....")
The PlayerListener help only when the download is finished, but I need to control the file download progress.
I think that I need the DataSource to control this progress, but I can't create a DataSource or get one from Manager or Player.
There are somebody that can help me?

You cannot hide it - if the client doesn't know the URL, it cannot download the file.
You'll need another trick, like URLs that are valid only for a single download. Or use sessions, and check for the session key when the client requests the file.

Scripting Download Progress for Multiple Movie Clips?

I'd like to insert script in the example below that would indicate the download progress of two successive movie clips on a page. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

the flvplayback component has bytesLoaded and bytesTotal properties.

CC works fine on the Mac laptop but doesn't download to the PC desktop

Strange. It works fine on the laptop (Mac, OSX Mavericks) but doesn't download on the PC desktop (Windows 7) I also have upstairs. The CC Install App downloads, but whenever I click 'download' on the CC Website nothing happens, no progress bar--no nothin'! Any ideas? I've tried msConfig and disabled non-essentials and rebooted, disconnected the router and hard-wired it in the event the firewall was blocking the data (I didn't wanna mess with port forwarding). I'm at a loss here gang. I am a student and use After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop regularly and need to have the access when my brother uses the laptop!

Mavericks Download Progress Corrupted?

I am now downloading Mavericks, but I think the progress or process is corrupted.
From the pictures below,
1) you can see that the Launchpad shows that it is dowloading
2) on the main page of the App Store, it also shows that it is downloading
3) But in the Puchases Tab of App Store, there is no progress bar, and it doesn't say that it is downloading. Clicking on the download button doesn't help.
Hence, I do not know if it is acutally downloading or not?
Anybody can assist?

And I have tried what they suggested but no joy. Anyone know what the solution is? I know its a really large file, and so I should just wait, but I would really like to see the download progress bar. If that could just show me that the download was happening I would have no problem waiting.

Why is it that whenever I download a song from Itunes that a small grey round button appears next to the song (apparently this is the download progress button), but when I press on it to resume, the song disappears. This wasn't happening before.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

I have been watching the Rachael Maddow video podcast for at least a month with no problems. Now suddenly it won't download the last nights show. I have read and followed all troubleshoot and cannot find a solution. I have unsubscribed and re-subscribed to no avail. Can someone help me with this problem?

Trouble with FP 10.3.183.7 upgrade - wasn't working and now doesn't download

Current system info:
Windows 7 (64 bit)
Internet Explorer 9 (using 32 bit for downloading FP)
I upgraded to 10.3.183.7 and immediately noticed my laptop unable to display/use Flash features (facebook games, online flyers, video, etc)
I uninstalled and installed multiple times using both Control Panel and the uninstaller provided on Adobe help page. I restarted my laptop after every install and after every uninstall. I made sure to use 32-bit IE each time.
At first Programs (and Control Panel) showed FP as installed but now it doesn't register as installed at all - aside from the installer program telling me it is installed.
After installing, on the Adobe 'test' page instead of the spinning F I see a box with an 'x' in the top left hand corner (like an image/graphic that won't load).
I tried the beta FP 11 but same problem. It at least showed up on my programs list. I uninstalled it and am back to FP 10.3
I have been on the help page trying anything I can find to get it working but no luck so far. Any advice for this issue?

FP does appear in my Control Panel for uninstalling but does not appear in my Programs list. I downloaded Google Chrome and FP seems to work with it (though I'm not a big fan of the browser)So, it would appear to be an IE issue? Adding a download progress bar to a flash output

I have the CS4 production premium package. I made a flash based web page to function like my DVD project by "building" the project in Encore which creates the page along with the referenced flash video files without having to know action script. I was wondering if there is an easy way to include a download progress bar in the flash output? If it is not possible to add a download progress bar directly by changing some option before I "build"/export the project from Encore, is there a snippet of code I could insert in one of the files after it has been created so a progress bar is added to the video? Here is a link to the page I created. If you click the "TQ4" button you will notice that there is no download progress bar that is visible when the controls are showing.

There's no easy way, no.
It may be possible to do this in Flash if you built your own custom player, but you'd essentially have to reverse engineer your Encore Flash output (no small task).
If you have access to a Flash Media Server, you might want to consider the streaming output option, which avoids downloading issues entirely.

Shockwave Slim Install doesn't download SWA Streaming Xtra

Hi all, I'm having a frustrating time trying to fix this
problem, hope someone can help. I have a Director project (MX 2004,
10.1.1) that ends up as a Shockwave movie on a website. It makes
heavy use of Shockwave Streaming Audio and is therefore
dependent on the SWA xtras (namely: "SWA Decompression PPC Xtra"
and "SWA Streaming PPC Xtra" and their efficiently named Windows
alternatives) that have been removed from the default Shockwave
installer (the "Slim Install"; re:
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19523).
I've been getting lots of reports of "Xtra not found..." errors
lately, mainly from people installing SW for the first time, and
are thusly installing the new "slim install" version.
Now, supposedly this shouldn't be a problem, as the movie has
the "Download if needed" option checked in the
Modify->Movie->Xtras dialog and for a while I thought it may
have been an errant thing or a PEBKAC but after reading the above
referenced tech note I've been able to reproduce the error by
uninstalling SW (I had a full install, so I already had the xtras
on my system) and reinstalling via the "slim installer." The movie
loads, the status bar says "Downloading Xtras..." or some such and
then looks to be working fine until a streaming audio file is
loaded at which point the "Xtra not found" error pops up and then
the movie bails from errors.
So I look in my Shockwave plugin's Xtras folder (on OS x:
~/Library/Application Support/Macromedia/Shockwave
10/Xtras/Download/MacromediaInc/SWA - phew!) and there I find...
The decompression Xtra but the streaming xtra is nowhere to be
found. Nothing I've tried has worked to get it to correctly
download the "SWA Streaming PPC Xtra" automagically.
I realize that
from now on I can direct people to install the full version
if they haven't before installed any version, but if they've
already installed the "slim install" and it won't download these
Xtras it means they have to call and I have to tell them they need
to install the full version... This, of course, means telling them
to
uninstall Shockwave and then
reinstall with the full version to which they all smile and
respond, "Oh, ok, cool! That sounds like fun." :-[ That's a less
than ideal solution, in my opinion, so I'm trying to find a way to
get it to download these Xtras correctly.
So I looked in the "Activity" window in Safari while the page
with the movie loads and, sure enough, one of the resources it
requests is the SWA.carb file located here:

and it downloads it without error or fail, but only one of the
accompanying Xtras is actually downloaded and installed in the
user's Xtras folder.
In the tech note about the slim installer, it mentions this:

own copy of all Macromedia Xtra package download URLs. Therefore, a
given Macromedia Xtra only needs to appear in the movie's Xtra list
in order to participate in the auto-download feature of the player.
Which sounds like it
should download the 2 Xtras whether "download if needed" is
checked or not (it
is), but it doesn't download the streaming xtra.
Is it possible the download URLs in the Shockwave Player are
incorrect?
Has anyone else had this problem and/or have any suggestions?

Hi, I don't know very much about computers, so this may be
all junk but I was successful today in downloading a version of
Flash Player 9. I had tried everything but at Flash Player Support,

way down the page on the right side I saw "Flash Player Downloads:
Flash Player; Additional Downloads; Archived Major Versions of
Flash Player; Other Players." I decided that since I have older
equipment and software maybe my machine could not handle Flash
Player 9 and I would try downloading an older version. After
selecting Archived Major Versions of Flash Player, I was surprised
to see Version 9. I download the zipped file to my computer and
then used "Run" to unzip and install. So far so good. I have all
the functions I need and everything is working great. The download
page warned "You can download these players from the Adobe website.
They are available specifically for Flash developers who are
examining their sites from the perspective of users with earlier
versions of Flash Player. Adobe has made these archived players
available for download at the request of the Flash developer
community. Adobe Technical Support does not provide support for the
installation or use of these old players" I have no idea what that
means and maybe the whole thing turns into pumpkins at midnight.
But I have Flash Player 9 for now. If this is all nonsense, please

[solved] pacman no longer shows download progress of packages

Just in the last few days, download progress is no longer shown.
Is this by design? It's kind of annoying in any case. Searched and didn't see other comments about it.

How do I track document download progress using jQuery UI progress indicator?
I'm looking at downloading a zip file in response to the onclick event in a jQuery button. I'd like to show the download progress on the page.
I'm working with users who may not be Web savvy and need to know something is happening. Also, they may be on lower bandwidth connnections, so even a small zip file could take time to download.
