FM Core issue?

Since installing Snow Leopard, ive been having some crashing issues (first just with CS3 suite), that was so called "permissions, cache" issues, by my Mac specialist. I got my MAC specialist to fix what he thought was the issue by deleting un-compatible software from my system, that didnt jive with 10.6.2, and also and also ran my "Clean My MAc" suite to delete any un-needed cache type stuff. At first we thought it was an issue with Suitcase Fusion 2, but after check compatibility (it was compatible), we didnt think that was an issue, but un-installed it anyways, because I wasn't using it anymore anyways. But now im getting this error>>>
"FMCore has been stopped. Please start it from the System Preferences pane and then relaunch Illustrator CS3"
**but i know it's not just a CS3 issue, because the error appears acroos several software platforms, including Quark Xpress?
So what to do?? I searched the forums a little and didnt seen any other posts about this issue, but found on another forum some info on the issue, but it was directly related to Suitcase Fusion
What now? lol

Alright here is what happened when running EasyFind (which is the only app cleaner i will ever use…NICE utility app!!
I Found the following:
-Main Library / (tons of log files)
-Library prefrences / (5-7 plug ins)
•••AND...that was just the extensis search, the Suitcase search…there was stuff all over the place, and nothing with the FMCore search (at first glance, read below)
-No Login items shown
-No Suitcase launch agents
-BUT…found a FMCore folder in the main finder window (with EAsyFind), with a "NameServer.db" file (research file type, and on fileinfo.com, its a PC database file?? deleted it, with no luck after restart and relaunch, and after a secong FMcore search there were (2) of the same folders with .db file (except one was in the trash (??not deleting??)
Just FYI, this is the first time ive had to work with an issue this deep, so this is kinda new, but am learning a TON so thanks, BUT I do my way around a mac…long story short….thanks for the help…..I think were getting close! my work's freelance IT guy, well…vie run out of favors (money hungry…loll)

Core Issues

Hi there.
Im experiencing issues with our server.
Its constantly running out of space, and getting like 60Gb of Core dump files into /cores/
I have the system log, but i don't really understand it fully.
Can anyone decipher it and let me know what the underlying problem is?

at the very least, it looks like /usr/local/aw/bin/nsd (part of presstore?) keeps crashing.
disable anything that package may need and see if the machine stays up after reboot. also, dump or move the core dumps to free space on the drive. i doubt you'll need them.

CORS issue in ECC 6.0

All,
We are having a problem with transaction CORS in our ECC 6.0 environment. This is not occurring our 4.6C environment. Records are posting to CO1P when they are not successful in CORS. According to note 208477:
"In the case of a lock situation, an error record which can be reprocessed with Transaction COGI is not created. However, a request record is created instead. Such request records can be displayed with Transaction CO1P. It is also possible to selectively update individual markings from the list of markings. It is recommended to regularly plan in a job which updates these records. The following reports are available for this:
o CORUPROC: from Rel. 4.0A (AFFW and AFRPx markings)
o CORUAFWP: from Rel. 3.1H (AFFW markings)
o CORUAFW0: only Rel. 3.0/3.1 (AFFW markings)
Report CORUPROC should be used for this from Release 4.0."
However, running job CORUPROC to process the records in CO1P is not acceptable from a business perspective. Is there a difference in C01P in 4.6C and ECC 6.0?

There will be new authorization objects getting added to the transaction code after the upgrade.
Adjust this transaction code with new authorization objects.
You can follow these steps to adjust.
1.Go to transaction SU25
2.Run steps 2A to 2D
3. Each steps has its own significance.Read the instructions carefully when you click on each tab from 2A to 2D.
4. You need to adjust the roles, new t-codes with old ones and new authorization objects with old ones.

Junk Mail Core Issue

I have an IMAP account with fastmail.
The good part:
When I manually label any mail that mail.app does not recognize as junk, it is always labeled as junk and then moved to the junk mailbox.
The troublesome part:
I am increasingly noticing that when mail.app automatically specifies an email as 'junk', for about 20% of the time it goes to the junk mail folder, but for majority of the time (80%), it does NOT, and stays in the inbox (and it is not labeled as being junk either). When I click on these emails that mail.app fails to move to the junk folder, mail.app immediately recognizes it as junk and labels it junk, but still does not move it to the junk folder.
If I then manually label these emails as 'not junk' and then relabel it as 'junk', mail.app immediately moves to the junk box.
This is annoying me. Anyone else facing the same issue?

I have this problem as well. I am hoping there is some simple solution like deleting a pref file for junk. I took my computer to the Genius Bar yesterday to get an opinion on it. Although very kind and after spending some time looking at it, they couldn't offer me any solution to correct it other then erase and install. Before going that route I erased and migrated the user back over from Time Machine. The problem was still there so it is some file in that particular user file. Next I guess I will try a Archive and Install. I have seven Macs and only one with this problem.

Performance Issues in IC Agent Search - Category and / or Status search

We are encountering a serious performance issue in SAP CRM 7.0 WebUI for IC Agent Inbox Search, when using the provided selection criteria viz u2013 status, category etc.
When we click on search , we are getting a timeout for the same.
As per ST22 analysis, the timeout is occurring due to the read on CRMD_ORDER_INDEX table where a sequential read is timing out.
A Custom Index has been created on the CRMD_ORDER_INDEX table for improving performance.
In ST22 the standard tips mention
"Dataset resulting from database access is too large".
and
"Database has unsuitable index. Check index generation".
We have done a database inconsistency check and no errors are appearing for the index.
We also did a rebuild index in RSANORA but that has not solved the issue.
Any pointers that could help solve / analyze the core issue would be very beneficial.
I have a feeling using APPEND HINTS to curtail the dataset should sovle the issue, however i am not a DB expert.
If u have any suggestions pls let me know.

Hi Ron,
Are you getting the search result if you limit your search for a specific date or for a specific transaction number. If yes then i believe your Indexing is still not proper. There are few notes available for improving performance of agent inbox for CRM 7.0. Did you check those notes?

CMS crash with core files and multiple report output generation

Happy new year to everyone,
Our BOXIR3.1SP6FP2 env has recently started behaving weirdly by triggering multiple output to users inbox and email notification out of scheduled reports. Also we have noticed the CMS crash with core file (almost 4GB) generation at the time of multiple report output.
Most of the times, CMC crashes and recycles itself. At few times, CMS services alone went shut down.
OS details: RHEL 5.5, 32 GB RAM, 8 core processor on each of the clustered node, Oracle 10GR2.4 CMS DB server, 11GR2.4 oracle reporting DB server and oracle 11.1.0.6 client.

Below is the observation as part of troubleshooting:
1. CMS breaks at threshold of 3.9 G.
2. CMS DB sits in a different Linux server than BOE server.
3. All core files were generated by boe_cmsd process and are almost 4GB in size (same as max threshold which it breaks).
4. Shell script which I've added in the BOE servers shows that the CMS DB is available/connecting at the time of CMS crash.
5. SAP analysed the Core files and skeptical about the below lines.

      from /opt/oracle/product/11.1.0/client_1/lib32/libclntsh.so
     #4 0x58687e0d in skgesig_sigactionHandler ()
I'll continue troubleshooting with a hope to fix it at the earliest.

Issue with ALSA softvol and reloading sound card module

I'm using a Chaintech AV710 card with the snd_ice1724 module as a driver. The core issue is that sometimes when this module is loaded during startup (or every time after a suspend), it will play nothing but very loud static. To fix this, I simply reload the module. This fix worked fine for me while I used pulseaudio: I would just kill pulse, reload the module, and start pulse after every suspend. Now, however, I'm using a system that involves an ALSA softvol plugin. The softvol device is being used by JACK: jackd -d alsa -d softvol. When I reload the module using this setup, the softvol control I set up becomes locked at 100%. amixer reports "Invalid command!" for sset Master2 10%. The audio will still play, but I can't figure out any way to reset it to make this control work again short of renaming the control, restarting jack, renaming the control back to the original name, then restarting jack again. Any help alleviating this issue on any of these fronts would be appreciated. Relevant asound.conf sections:

Yes, of course, alsa-utils is installed (so is alsa-firmware, and alsa-oss). I'm in audio group.

Issues showing PDF files in web-browser (Windows 7 x64, 32-bit version of AdobeReader X)

I'm not sure if this is the right way to share my experience, but at least I know Google will discover this thread eventually and maybe someone else will find what I have been looking for the past 3 hours
I'm deploying the 32-bit based AdobeReader X (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4950) to Windows7 32-bit and 64-bit based machines. This is a MSI deployement done through our Active Directory. Everything goes well - no errors. Except for the x64-based machines having trouble showing PDF-files in the web-browser.
I used Adobe Customization Wizard X to customize our MSI installation - this showed out to be the solution once again.
Common for the installation on Windows7 32-/64-bit were that the value in the registry database for HKCR\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe (Default) was set to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe". This is valid for the 32-bit installation as Program Files is situated in C:\Program Files, but since it's a 32-bit edition of AdobeReader that I'm installing on the 64-bit based system as well, it's installed in C:\Program Files (x86) and the reference in the registry database to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" is therefore not valid - which explains why PDF files could not be displayed in the web browser. Changing the registry to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" solved it. Now this is a manual solution which might be useful on 1-2 machines but on a bigger scale it's not the right way to do it.
I could change it with a batch/vbs script but still this is only a solution of the symptom and not a solution to the core issue. I therefore focused on Adobe Customization Wizard X again.
The problem was easily solved. I opened the MSI file, loaded the transform file that I've made previously. Went to Registry > HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe . I then changed the (Default) value from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" to "[INSTALLDIR]Reader\AcroRd32.exe", generated the MST file and replaced my current one for distribution. Problem solved! :-) The entry in the registry now shows : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" and PDF files are open without any issues.
I hope someone can save a bit of time on this one.

I was able install and view the files in adobe reader 10.1.1 and in web browser window 7 64 bit machine. But when I go to Edit-preferences-internet and unchecking "display PDF in Browser" , I am not able to view the pdf files in ie 9 browser. I have used this javscript to check for pdf version.
Immediately after installing adobe--

After unchecking-- it stays in the https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html instead of showing test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf

Issue with Family Sharing and unshareable apps

My husband and I just upgraded to iPhone 6's with iOS 8.0. Previously, we both used my Apple ID for all app purchases on our old phones. With iOS 8.0, we turned on the Family Sharing feature. We would both like to install the mobile app for our bank (TD (Canada)). With Family Sharing turned on, this app is listed as one of my purchases. However, it is also listed as "unshareable". I can install the app on my phone, but when my husband tries to install the app, he gets a message saying that the app has already been purchased using a different Apple ID and cannot be installed on his phone. Note that on his phone, he does not even see the app under my purchases when he goes to App Store | Updates | Purchased. However, if he searches for the app in the App Store, instead of a "FREE" button, he sees the iCloud download icon.
Has anyone else run into this problem and figured out how to fix it, or is this just an iOS 8.0/iTunes/App Store/iCloud bug? It actually does not make sense that a free banking app would be "unshareable" under Family Sharing in the first place since several members of the same family will most likely use the same bank.

I have the same issue. I spent an hour on the phone with Apple and they don't have a clean fix for it. The issue seems to be with apps that developers have not yet set the Family share-able flag as yes or no. They said that when developers update the flag this will resolve itself. Meanwhile, if in the app store the details of the app under Family Sharing it says "Not Available" it will be an issue. I found a reasonable workaround for this particular issue by hiding the original purchase and "re-purchasing" as follows: Disclaimer/Note: Not all Apps are share-able, (even free ones.) If the app you are trying to deal with is an actual paid for app, you will be buying it again! Better to wait until the core issue gets fixed, unless you are willing to pay for it again.
1. On a PC or Mac, in iTunes, have the original purchaser log in to the iTunes store, then under Quick Links click on Purchased. Click on Apps at the top and find the app that is at issue. (Hint: The apps are not necessarily listed under the obvious app name. I was looking for Colorspot from SherwinWilliams, and found it under SherwinWlliams, not Colorspot.) Once you find the app, hover over it and click on the X in the upper left corner to hide it. Do this for all the apps that are at issue. (See Disclaimer/Note above)
2. On the iOS device that is having the problem, close the App Store app. (If you have many apps at issue you might make a list, or take a screenshot first)
3. On the same iOS device, find the app and delete it. (not ideal but it works!). Once you have all the apps at issue deleted, reboot, and make sure you are logged in to the iTunes store as the secondary "purchaser", (If you are logged in as the original purchaser you probably wouldn't have the issue in the first place, although to me that means going a bit backwards and not really using the Family Sharing program.)
4. Open the App store app, if you started the whole process with an app that wouldn't update, confirm that the app is no longer listed.
5. Search the store for the problem app as though it was a new purchase (at this point it is.) Once found, it should be listed with the "Free" or a "price" icon. If it shows the cloud and download arrow icon the hiding you did in step 1 hasn't updated yet. Wait awhile longer. (Reboot again? Re-log into store again?) (Also note here, that a properly shared app will show the cloud/download arrow icon and would be download-able without issue.) If it shows as Update, it hasn't actually been deleted from the device. If all is well, you should be able to proceed with a typical "purchase" of the item. (See Disclaimer/Note above) If the family member has multiple devices, repeat 2-5 for each device.
If you have multiple family sharing members wanting the app you will have to repeat step 1, hiding the purchase in each iTunes account until all family members have gone through the re-purchase process. After fixing all of their devices, each person can go back into iTunes, click on Account under Quick Links, go to iTunes in the Cloud section, Hidden Purchases line, click Manage, and unhide the hidden apps. This would be important for future sharing when the bugs get worked out.

The MSI then executes an Installer class DLL written in C# which restores a database to the SqlExpress instance.
When the restore is completed, the Installer class then uses the Process class to launch CMD.exe and execute the SQL script using SQLCMD.

This is where I get the error mentioned above.
However if I execute the same command manually by opening CMD.exe from the RUN command, it executes perfectly.
I can not use -U or -P to supply a user / password, I MUST use integrated security.
Additional info:
Previously SQL Server 2008 Express has been in use for the bootstrapper, and this issue did not occur.
The database the MSI restores is also built from SQL Server 2008. (Will be built from 2012 in the future.)
Installation is performed on an account with administrative rights.
Running the installer AS Administrator does not fix the issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as well please let me know if additional info is required.

I'm having a similar issue where I'm using a batch file to execute commands to a group of servers. I can use the batch commands when updating MyDatabase but get the security context error when I try to update MyDatabase with a join to TheirDatabase except
on servers where I am sysadmin. Like I said, I can update MyDatabase as long as I don't join to TheirDatabase.

Premiere Elements 13 and a AMD FX 6 core processor will it work?

System requirements say Intel i7 and no reference to AMD will this work I have enough resources but not sure about the chip set of an AMD FX6100 6 Core Processor

I am not sure about the nature of this thread. You seem to be referring to the processor requirements for a computer on which Premiere Elements 13 runs and John seems to be talking about the processor support needed for the computer on which Premiere Elements is editing a specific format of Sony XAVC-S. There is a distinction between AVCHD and XAVC-S.
The Windows processor requirement under System Requirements to which John refers you is
Windows
2GHz or faster processor with SSE2 support; dual-core processor required for HDV or AVCHD editing and Blu-ray or AVCHD export; Intel Core i7 required for XAVC-S
And it does not get into the multi core issue, especially beyond 4 as it relates to your AMD FX6100 6 Core Processor.
I think that it would be in your best interests to download and install the free 30 day tryout of Premiere Elements 13 and determine first hand if it is compatible with your specific computer environment and project goals.

Cpupower issues

Hi,
Just doing an installation on my laptop after a few months away from Arch.
I cpufrequtils and configured as I always did as per the wiki, and that didn't work. Saw that it is advised to use cpupower now instead and have tried to set it up, but both cores of my processor are constantly running at maximum:

Yes, it's very weird. I tried installing cpufreq as I always have done with no issues first and that did not work at all, and hence I tried cpupower with no luck.
Having said that, I have just realised that this maxed out cores issue seems to only be when it's plugged in. When I unplug the laptop it seems to scale properly to powersaving mode:

Is BC hosting causing you SEO issues?

Hi,
We are a BC partner and host all of our client sites on the BC platform. We provide a number of additional services to our clients as well as web development, one of which is SEO.
We are based in the UK and all of our sites are hosted in the EU data centres in Dublin. The problem with this is that this makes it more difficult to rank our sites in the UK than if our BC sites were hosted in London for instance. I know this may seem like a very small point when it comes to SEO but we are noticing it is having a bigger impact than it used to as Google continues to increase focus on on-page elements of websites to determine ranking.
I've raised this is an issue with BC but I just want to know from the BC community if it is something you are aware of and worried about also? If it is then the more people we can get talking about it then hopefully it will bring it more to the attention of the BC team.
I'm an avid BC fan so very keen to keep on using it - I just hope this can be resolved in the medium term.
Thoughts and opinions on this would be great.

I have heard this so many times, it is one of those SEO Myths I am not sure where they come from. The core issue with hosting and location with the data centre is performance which if search engines like google find the bot searching takes to long does factor into things. Your domain is the key locator and reference to determine local searching and ranking. As google has said several times in the past, if they just based ranking on the server being in the same location they would be ruling gout half the web because it is not set up that way.
Very easy to pull up Video's from Mike Cutts on this and blog posts etc.
Yep if you put a site on the AU data centre that is a UK site, it will run like a dog and there will be traffic and bot issues which will factor, but no one would be doing that
You mention the likely real reason for your SEO concerns but for the wrong reason. Google has and is increasing making changes to focus on real content, good content and relevant content. Anything that is spammy or the page with one paragraph etc are no longer effective. Recent changes are less about keywords and more about the sentencing of contents. So if your focusing a lot on the keywords then that will be one of the mistakes.
You not provided info on what your actually doing so I am spitballing here on a lot of things but have you set up google + accounts for clients, set up google places information, local listings, google add words and local setup...
One mistake company sites have that have an actual store or stores they want people to visit are when they do talk enough about the stores and their locations. Being generic for the sake of being on the web will fail.
Lots of people do not do any SEM. They think a site and some SEO basics will rank and see their business grow. You still need to market and be dynamic about it.
Another one that still amazes me is there are people who get a .com because they think its bigger and more powerful and then do not rank and blame it on the data centre or being on a data centre with other bad ranking sites on it etc. If you want to rank better in the country then go smaller. A local domain will be the better option.
We also took on a site which had some SEO work on it - 30 odd domains for the site. This sill happens.
Not saying you are doing any of that but these and other things are the REAL SEO matters and the things need to be focus.
I have worked on BC in New Zealand with the data centre in Australia before I moved to Australia. Done right sites were ranking high and Other experience BC partners I am sure, if they see this thread will respond and share success stories as well.

Hi all, I know there are a few issues about connetcign to the hotspots - But I am able to conenct via the wireless on my iphone via a hotspot, but on my laptop I get the yellow circle with explantaion mark when trying to connect via my laptop (I am away from home for a few weeks) any suggestions, its says I'm connected to the hotspot but not the internet.

This document explains why IPSEC VPN clients don't work on Verizon 4g network.
Core Issue
The Cisco IPSEC VPN client is able to connect to VPN gateways without any issues over the Verizon 4g network. However once connected, the client is not able to pass any traffic at all. The counters on the client indicate that the client is encrypting data however, there are no increments to the decrypt counters. This issue is seen on the entire gamut of windows OSs. One of the deal breakers with the new Verizon 4g network is that the new LG VL600 and Pantech UML290 run a privately routed IP (10.) address that ONLY allows outbound traffic - no inbound traffic can be passed through. This means that if you have a need for remote access to a device, Verizon's new 3G/4G-capable devices will not allow you to access them like you could with a 3G-only modem.
Resolution
Based on suggestions made by Verizons it seems as though the following things need to be attempted:
1. enable Nat-T. For more information regarding nat-traversal please refer to the following documents:
     a. IPSEC over NAT-T on IOS devices
     b. IPSEC over NAT-T on ASA
2. enable IPSEC-over-TCP. For more information regarding enabling IPSEC over TCP please refer to the following documents:
     a. IPSEC over TCP on IOS devices
     b. Enabling IPSEC over TCP on ASA
3. Use Anyconnect rather than IPSEC
4. The other option is to go with the Sprint 4g network instead which apparently does support remote access to applications.
