FM CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 for BI Extraction

Hi Gurus,
Has anyone used the Function CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 to extract Multilevel BOM data into BI.
If yes, can you please help me. I have few questions.

The datasource 2LIS_04_P_COMP is used for extracting material
consumptions for the production process, while 2LIS_04_PECOMP for
repetitive manufacturing.

If you want to extract BOM related data from tables MAST, STPO and STKO
to BI from ECC, you will have to create generic extractor
(function module > CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2) or alternatively create generic
extractors on header (STKO), item (STPO) tables
Or if you need you need to create a View based on the desired BOM tables
and create a generic extractor based on the View from RSO2 .

How to create a New Tranport Request for changed Extract structure ?
Hi Experts,
I have a FI AP Generic Datasource containing extract structure with appended fields.
It has already been activated and transported to Testing System.
Now, I am to create a new transport request for this DataSource and Extract structure.
I do not want to delete and recreate the Generic Datasource.
I am trying to look at the options in the extract structure top menu from where I can create a new Tranport Request.
Please let me know the steps

Hi Dev,
Once you send the transport request for any data source from Dev to Testing you wont find that again in your Dev (I mean the TR). So, when you change anything for this data source or view now in Dev and try to save it, it will ask for a new transport request and here you can mention a new one starting from View then activate it and go to RSO2 regenerate it and use the same transport request for this too. When you transport this TR to Testing Environment the data source will automatically get changed.

my requirement is to write extract program s for those t.codes.
to retriew data from legacy system and stored in flat file.

i need help with a java program. it is a program that allows the user to enter a student's GPA, number of extracurricular activities, and number of service activities. The user can not enter a gpa above 4.0 or below 0. The user can not enter a negative number for the number of both activities. If the student meets the following criteria: 1) GPA of 3.8 or above and at least one extracurricular activity and one service activity, 2) GPA below 3.8 but at least 3.4 and a total of at least three extracurricular and service activities, 3) GPA below 3.4 but at least 3.0 and at least two extracurricular activities and three service activities, the message "Scholarship candidate" should display. If the student does not meet the criteria above, then the message"not a candidate" should display. Can you help me, please?

As you know LO cockpit consists of different modules(MM, PP, SD, etc)
They are called appl components. Each of them have a number (eg.MM=02) and for each appl comp they might be different Data sources and for each DS they might be different tables. So, unless you be specific we cant tell a specific table for a DS.
coming to the delta mechanisms, there are " direct delta, queqed delta and serialized delta".
Copa is based on the oepration concern. it can be created on " accouting based" or "costing based".

Report for ifile extraction

Hi Experts,
I have requriment for ifile extraction . I have report which will extract the ifile for HSBC using code F110 which is used to generate automatic payment. I have requriment for part or full payments
made before due date with or without interest is mapped in cash discount field in code f-53 .

Can anyone clarify me when we should go for generic extraction using view and when we should go for generic extraction using infoset query....
Also what is the difference between view and infoset?

Hi Kalyani,
We normally go for View or infoset when the data to be fetched in BW is distributed in different tables in SAP R/3.
Had the data been available in one table we can easily build our datasource on that table but if there are more tables then its not possible to do it without Views or Infosets. You can use Function Modules to build your datasource in case it involves complex logic to figure out the data from various tables.
Depending upon the table relationships we create view and include various fields from these tables in that view. Same is with the Infosets, you can have more flexible options like Outer Join, left outer Join etc.

MDX for hierarchy extraction

Does anyone know of a way to use MDX to create a generational extract of hierarchies from Essbase? I know the outline extractor will do this, but our co will not allow us to use this as it is not supported by Oracle.
Any suggestions??

I think it depends on what you are looking for exactly. If you are looking for an extract that will look like what you get out of outline extractor or something you can re-use in a load rule, then the answer is no.
MDX only allows one dimension per axis so there isn't a way to write a query that lets you put Gen 1 members in 1st column and Gen 2 members in second column. Each column represents an axis so that isn't going to work. Try to think about how you would do it in Excel addin, you can't and it is the same concept.
You can easily write a query that will let you query member lists and filter based on Gen 1, Gen 2, etc. But how you match them up to know what the correct parent for any given member would be, is a challenge.
A less than elegant solution would have been if you could query and return the fully qualified member name (i.e. [Year].[Qtr1].[Jan]) then at least you could have copied into Excel and with some basic parsing you could have pulled it apart to come up with the result. Unfortunately the Oracle Essbase version of MDX is extremely lacking. It's kind of sad when you compare it to pretty much everyone else who uses MDX. I blame this in large part on the initial idea that they would bastardize MDX to make it look more like Calc script language Essbase developers were used to rather than say "hey, this is what everyone else uses so we should use it too". Kind of like the United States and the metric system. But I digress, the point is that MDX for Essbase is limited and so there is no good way I am aware of to do what you are looking to do.
That being said if you were just looking for informational purposes or documentation, you could try using the Ordinal() function to return members and report what generation they are.

GENERIC DATA EXTRACTION USING FUNCTION MODULE
Difference between Generic Extraction and Enhancement of existing Extractor
1)Go to RSA6 and find the data source you need to enhance.--> Display
2)Double click on the Extract structure.
3)Now click on the append structure button to add the required field on to the existing structure.
4) add your required fields with ZZ appended to your field.
5) Save & Activate the append structure. Then go back and make sure you activate the extract structure also.
6) Now again go back to RSA6 and select your Data Source. But this time go to change Data Source to remove the hide option to the enhanced fields. By default theyll be in hide mode. If you dont remove the hide field then this field will not be seen in BW side.
7) Now go to SE38 to write the logic to populate the data into the enhanced field. Program name to write the logic is ZXRSAU01.
8) Check + Save + Activate.
9) Check in RSA3 if data is populated as per your requirement.
10) Replicate your Data Source.
11) Now go to Data Source/ Trans. Structure screen. Now you can see the enhanced field on the right hand side.Enhancements:

Go to CMOD.
1. To Save give Description  createcreate new projectgive the project name
2. Select the radio button Enhancement Assignment and give the Enhancement name you want and press Enter.
3. If the Enhancement is already assigned to some other project it will display the same message saying it is already assigned it some other project. Click on

5. Give RSR00001 (For Variable Exits)
6. Activate the Project.
7. and click on the components button.Now go to Display
8. Now Double click on EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001. In that you can see an include ZXRSRU01.
9. Double click on that include, it will say program name ZX are reserved for includes of exit Functions groups.
10. Just Press Enter.
11. Itll Pop-Up a window Create Object.saying Include ZX. Does not exits
12. That is where you have to write the code for the variable exits. BW: Virtual
13. RSR00002 Chars and Key Figures. BW: Moving Characteristics.

Hi Pragya,
Generic extractors are of 3 types:
1. Based on table/view
2. Based on Infoset Query
3. Based on Function module
In some cases Business Content will not give your required data sources , In such scenarios you need to develop your own data sources ( Views / Function modules ) , Then you can bring that data source to BW and use that .
if you can't find the suitable business content data source then you have to create
your own data source ( Generic )
or enhance the given data source.
Need for customized generic extractor
Business Content may not have a suitable
Data Source for your application.
Business Content may require additional enhancements that need data that is not supplied by SAP BW.
The application may not have its own generic data extraction method.
We have used our own custom programs to populate tables in SAP system.

When you want to customize existing datasources at R/3 sides then you can do that with customer exits.
Suppose if you want to add a column to the existing datasource then you will use append structures (Transaction SBIW-> Edit Data sources - Enhance Datasource) then to fill the column you will write the code in these Exits.
There are 4 types of Exits available.Function Group (XRSA)
EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001 Customer Function Call for Supplying Transaction Data
EXIT_SAPLRSAP_002 Customer Function Call for Supplying Master Data (Attributes)
EXIT_SAPLRSAP_003 Customer Function Call for Supplying Text
EXIT_SAPLRSAP_004 Customer Function Call for Supplying Hierarchies
As you are aware there 4 types since the datasources in R/3 are predefined to fill the data of BW viz, attributes,Text,Hierarchy and Transaction.

Is there a way to determine in BW if the extractor for a load from R/3 is utilizing a FM? If so is there a way to see it? (e.g. something like show data flow)

I cant seem to locate the data source using either RSA2 or table ROOSOURCE. When I show the data flow of the infocube the datasource is displayed coming from an R/3 source system. When I look for the datasource under source systems in modeling, its there, however opening it just brings me to the infosource display. Is there another way to determine if this datasource is utilizing a FM for data extraction?

How to make JOB CONTROL setting for delta extraction in Production system .

Hello All,
We are in the process to transport our development to PD server in BI . We have transported the data sources to ECC production and now we are filling the setup table for " SD BILLING BW " . After filling Setup table data in full mode through infoPackage we have to load data in delta mode .
How we can set our Update mode(LBWE setting) in PD server ?
Is LBWE T.Code authorisation required in ECC PD server to make the setting of Update mode or We have to set all Job Control Paramater in Dev System at the time of transport the datasource request to ECC production . Is our time which is set in job control of ECC development will be reflected in ECC production ?
can any body tell me about how to make setting for delta extraction in Production system .

How do you load the data in the development system?
- you set up the update mode in the infopackage. There you must customize "Initialization"
- you have to filled the setup table in the production system without laoding the data in the BW? then this step was for nothing. Filling the setup table and do the INIT in the BW, this must be together - during no changing will be done in your R/3 SD.
