    Hi Shekhar,
What is the mechanism you are using to export data (APD, Open Hub or any other)?
Check if the data is getting extracted in the proper source in BI system itself.

  • How to change order data in APO

    Hi,
I am keen to know on ways to change order data in APO say order category BI.....we want to change date by taking input from cif user exit APOCF006.We need this information for the ongoing  project.
I know two options...1) using BAPIs  2) Not very sure about this option ...Function Module:/SAPAPO/OMORDER*CHANGE.
Could you  please help to have better understanding on ways to change orders  in APO?
    Thank you
    Best Regards
    Nilesh Patil

    Hello Rishi,
    Thanks for your reply.
Demand node ofr purchase Ordre( BF) in SNP is Conrel( BI category). We want to change date( start date) at this demand node . We will get this date from R3 using say non cif method.
There are few ways to do it....
    1) If we ignore Menas of Transport( so essentially transit time or lead time in tlane)  in that purchase order  and change this requirement date directly using purchase order save BAPI( requirement node) ......Question will system allow us to do so and even if it allows us to do so will it casue some problem( inconsistencies) later?
    2) Second option I am thinking is...
For one product we maiantain GR processing time in product location master and this is considered while determining strat date of BI (Start date=  Delivery date -GR procesisng time- means of Transport lead time - some other times ....). For this product let's say we have 100 Purchase Orders (BF). We have requirement that each of these POs should get separate treatment while calculating Start date. It means start date can be different for different POs and once we change it forcibly then it shoulkd not change unless we again change it forcibly.
We are thinking to change GR processing time at runtime wheneveer Purchase Order is changed. So if GR time in product location master is 1 day ....for different Purchase Orders different GR processing time can be considered. Say for Po1...its 2 day...for P2 its 4 day.
Or similar way we  can change transit time as given in means of transport in tlanes.
Will appreciate your or anyone's comment
    Thank you
    Nilesh

  • Error during extraction data from APO system

    HI Gurus,
We are extracting data from APO system at regular intervals. As poart of business requirement, we enhanced the data existing data source in APO dev system and replicated the same in BW dev system and activated the Tx structure and Tx rules.
When we checked it is working fine in dev environment.
Now we moved the same in Quality system, and we tried to extract data, it throws error " error in data selection in source system".
We tried to check in RSA3 in APO and found that the extract program still refers to the old extract structre and gives dump " Extract structure unknown".
Could anybody throw some light on this issue.
    Tnx in advance.
    Guru

    Hi,
Have u collected all the objects in R3,like the Table/View , DS,Extract Structure.
    And
Has replication been done in BI side for the same.

  • Batch Date in APO = 01.01.1970

    Hi All,
I have a problem with the batch date in APO.
    It shows as 01.01.1970.
This effects dynamic pegging as nothing gets pegged to it as it is
    too far in the past.
There is a date of manufacture etc in R3 on the batch.
The Delta report shows no inconsistencies.
How can I correct this ?
    Thanks,
    Tony

    Hi Tony,
You need to make sure all the characteristics values like (availability date, production date and expiry date) for batches are transfered to APO. For any batch you can check the same in versions tab of transaction /n/SAPAPO/RRP3.
For old batches if the characteristic is added later on then it will not pick the new characteristic value. For such batch goto MSC2N in R3 and in classification tab peform consistency check. Here it will acquire values of new charactristics. (For mass updation you might need to right BDC)
Then re-CIF batches again by again generating and activating IM.
Now the date 01.01.1970 should not appear.
    Best regards,
    Vaibhav

  • Access R/3 Application server data in APO

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement, where in there is some material data is written onto R/3 application server.
Now I need to access this data from APO, i guess the approach could be via RFC....
Early answers with examples would be rewarded with suitable points.....
    Thanks in Advance,
    NSL

    Hi Anuradha,
Thanks for your reply. Can you please explain the steps involved to write the R/3 appl server data to APO appl server with Unix scripts, with example...
But i beileve this can be done as,
Trigger a RFC in APO with the R/3 Application server path. Which in turn reads the data in designated path and returns back. So my question is, is there any standard RFC available in APO to achieve this.

  • Updating of data in APO DP - what is 'best practice'?

I am using APO DP V5.
I am using XI as an integration broker to receive data from external sources which is to be loaded into APO DP.
There are of course different ways of doing this, for example:
    1. From XI, pass an XML message which then loads a delta queue in APO BW, loads an InfoCube, which is then used to load data into an APO planning area
    2. From XI, pass the data into BAPI parameters, which are then used to directly update data in an APO planning area via a BAPI call (eg BAPI PlanningBookAPS)
What is the recommended 'best practice' here?
    Thanks,
    Bob Austin

    Hi Bob,
I do not have experience in SCM 5.0 and XI but shall give my views from general experience.
What kind of data you are loading in APO DP is the driver for the two ways mentioned by you.
Traditionally (older versions of SCM/APO and non XI interface) Sales History is captured into an Infocube and then loaded to DP Planning Area. The reason - you normally use this Infocube for generation of CVCs which is the Master Data in APO DP. Moreover you will use this data to generate Proportional Factors for disaggregation of Statistically generated Forecast at aggregate level to the lowest level. So there is a requirement for loading Historical data from external systems to APO DP via an Infocube.
The other kind of data would be market and sales forecast. This is a timeseries data which need to be directly loaded to the Planning Area for immediate Interactive Planning. In that case rather than putting it in an Infocube and then periodically loading the data from the Infocube to the Planning Area, its better to load the data directly in the Planning Area. There the BAPI will be a good option.
Hope this gives some ideas to your query.
    Thanks,
    Somnath

  • Extract data from APO to BW

    Hi Team,
APO is very new for me.
    My requirement is:
I need to extract Sales Data from APO system to BW system.
It would be great, if you can please provide me step by step process for this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vipin

    Hi Vipin,
Its the same steps that you need to follow as when you do a R/3 extraction in BI/BW. Proabaly the datasource names might being with '8' ie if there is an object by name '0MATERIAL' in APO which is going to form a source for BW then in RSA5 you need to look for the datasource name '80MATERIAL'. Then follow the steps below:
    1. in the APO system, Goto RSA5, Choose the Datasources related to sales and activate it.
    2. Goto RSA3 and check the extractor, when you have to specify the client name give the name of the BI  client and extract.
    3. In the BI/BW system, goto Source system and choose the name of the APO  client and then do a check to see if there is a valid      RFC connectivity.
    4. Goto Datasources and choose the source system to be the APO client and replicate the datasources.
    5. The datasource will be visible now, create an infopackage and do the normal process from there to do the data load to any target.
Make sure the target is active and then do the DTP to get the data from APO to BW system.
    Thanks

  • Sending New Requirement date to APO before saving the sales order in ECC

    Hi Experts,
i have a requirement where while creation of sales order, when user enters the requirement date,i have to calculate the new requirement date ( adding transit time and other time ) and send it to APO , to bring the ATP result based on this new calculated date.
This new calculated date is getting saved in Z field in VBAP table and also this new requirement date which has to be pass to APO is getting calculated while saving the doucment i.e. at user exit - USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE.
Now, i am not sure, how i should pass this new date to APO , which FM , Badi or BAPI would be used ?
Please help and let me know if i am supposed to detailed it a little more.
    Thanks.

    Hi Bharat,
Normally the new calculated requirement/delivery date will be updated in APO through the CIF.
However you can influence the transfer with enhancement CIFSLS03 (influence sales-order-specific data directly before it is sent to SAP APO available on ECC side).
    Please see the below description.
    Thanks.
    Regards, Marius
In this enhancement, you can transfer customer-order-specific data to SAP
    APO.
The associated component EXIT_SAPLCSLS_002 provides you with tables that are
required for the transfer. In particular, these are:
    Requirements table ET_SL_REQ
    Item table ET_SL_DOC
    Field catalog ET_ATPFIELD
You can use this exit to create or change documents in the ERP system as well
as for the initial data transfer.
The data is transferred to SAP APO after this exit is called.
    Notes
If you use program /SAPAPO/CIF_DELTAREPORT3, you have to add the
corresponding logic to function module EXIT_SAPLCID3_001. For more information,
    see the documentation for
    enhancement CIFCID3.
Programs /SAPAPO/CIF_DELTAREPORT and /SAPAPO/CIF_DELTAREPORT2 also run this
    exit.

  • Error taking data from APO data source

    Hi,
We have created a planning area in the APO system using the t-code /SAP/APO/MSDP_ADMN.
We have generated a "export data source" and the data source 9ADA_3 has been created and it was replicated from APO to BI system. We have created the transformations and DTP, to load the data to Cube(Direct Access DTP).
But when we are executing the infopackage(Full update) we get the error "8 when starting the extraction program.Error in the source system".
The datasource is active in both BI and APO (ROOSOURCE table)system.
The RFC connection was checked and it was fine.
The cube is active. The background job is running fine and finishing without any error.
We have checked data in APO system via RSA3 tcode the data is available over there.
Please let me know what could be the error for the same.
    Regards,
    Lakshminarasimhan.N

please check a couple of things
    1) The RFC connection is active between BI and APO
    2) The user ID and password are correct and the authorization trace in SM59 works fine  (most likely this is the case)
    3) Check the short dump on APO for any additional info

  • Where is the data come from when BW extract data from APO's MSP

    Hi,all.
The APO system has many datasource,I have activated all the datasource with TCODE RSA5.
I want to extract APO data to BW(Not APO's),where the APO data come from for BW extract,APO BW or SAP transparent table of APO or APO liveCache?
PLZ help me,thank you very much.

    Hi,
APO to BI Data Flow :
    1. Normally APO  DS  naming convention start with "9".
    2. Normally Planning area will provide the data for the DS.
    3. Using one T-Code ( /N/SAP/ ..... Ask APO Person) DS will be generated .In the specified T-Code you will provide the relavant
Planning area and DS will be generated.
4.As you know RSA3 is for checing the data for DS.If you found there is no data for some fields then you will check the data at the planning area level (In R/3 table level).
    Regards
    Ram.

  • CIFing the data from APO to ECC

Hi - I know how to CIFing the data from ECC to APO. But i would like to know how  to transfer the data from APO to ECC.I also would like to know how to debug the code...I see some of the questions in this forum on CIF debugging, but they are all CIFing the data from ECC to APO, but i need the other way around ( APO to ECC )
Could anyone provide me the detail steps to CIF debugging ?
    I really appreciate your help.

    Hi
What kind of data do you want to transfer from APO to ECC ? Lets say you want to transfer live cache reqs generated by APO to R/3 and create firmed reqs , then the following are the prerequisites
    1. Make the publication setting /n/sapapo/cp1 as mentioned by DB
    2. Make sure the material -plant for which you want to transfer reqs is active in the PO/ Preq integration model in R/3
    3. In APO /n/sapapo/sdp110  make sure the transfer setting is set to immediate.
Once all this is done , you dont have to do anything manually. The reqs will get transferred to R/3 automatically.
Also we have to transfer master data from R/3 to APO since R/3 is the master and i dont think it is possible to do the opposite - transfer of master data from APO- R/3 (no standard tool available) . Also we generally transfer only live cache reqs and PIR's (demand plan) back to R/3 . For PIR's you need to use the transfer profile.
    Thanks

  • What is the basci knowledge for learning the APO module

    hai
im a BW-consultant. im planning to learn the APO-module . So what i the prequistie to learn the APO module.
    pls let me know
    kumar

as a BW consultant DP is a good place to start since the Admin workbench (or BW workbench as it is called now) will be an area you will be confident with
in additon, you will need to get some extra business process knowledge on Sales and Operations Planning, Forecasting Algoritms, Planning area and Planning Book design concepts, various tools and transactions for Data processing in planning area, Using Macros etc to just name a few.
Look for the SAP education website for topics if you eventually plan to get certified.
the help.sap.com list of topics for DP is a good place to start.
the wiki that siva has already linked is a good resource. Also searching for posts here if you have doubts will help and also feel free to ask questions.

  • Clarification on details regarding getting data from APO into BW

    Hi Friends,
I need some clarification in terms of getting data from APO into BW for reporting:
I observed that SAP has provided standard data flows for PPDS module, where as for the Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning SAP has just provided some standard InfoCubes ex: 0APO_C07, 0APO_C10, 0APO_C11, 0APO_C12.
Which makes me believe that for Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning we need to generate DataSources from the Planning books in DP & SNP and build our own custom data flows. In that case what is the use of above mentioned InfoCubes provided by SAP?
Also in my current project the client has built a custom DataSource on top of a Planning Book in DP and created custom data flow in BW for reporting and also created a Back up cube in APO.
My question on this is, what is the use of this Back up cube in APO, what is the need to maintain two same cubes in two different systems?
My next question is, I have installed complete data flow for 0APO_C02 (Orders Data) in BW and loaded data. In SAP documentation it says when we try to load data for a particular date range using this InfoSource (0APO_PPDS_ORDER_01), it directly loads data from the live cache.
Is there a way to know if the data is coming from Live Cache or from APO server, can we get data from live cache for 9A*** Datasources also, which we create on planning books in DP and SNP?
Any comments and Info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Sunitha, thanks for your inputs. So does that mean for Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning, SAP has not given any standard DataSources because it makes more sense to build DataSources from the planning books as each company has their own planning strategies based on how they do there business. Right?
And for these modules there is no other way rather than generating DataSources from Planning Books and build the Data Flows based on it. Right?
Also these generated DataSources i.e. 9A**** pull data from live cache itself right or is there any setting that we need to enable for it to get data from live cache?
Thanks again for your valuable inputs hope to get answers to above questions as well.
