If I do not misunderstand your question on "WHEN", to take the overhead calculation on cost center effective, you need to setup the costing sheet and assign the costing sheet to the receiving cost centers to collect overhead before you take overhead calculation for them.

In one of the issue user is not able to print contract,we have noticed that default printer is set for user.I need to check what condition record is maintained for user.

Authorization restriction for PM Order via PM activity Type.

Dear PM Experts....
There is a requirement to restrict order creation (Eg: PM07) for selected user group if they select particular PM Activity Type(ILART).
Is it possible to restrict authorization in such a way and What are the Authorization Objects that i have to change?

Use the authorization object I_INGRP for restricting at the Planner Group level along with the I_AUART.
At activity level might not be possible.

Is there a way to bypass activity type/ cost element for CJ20n Activity?

Hi Experts,
Is there a way to bypass the activity type set in the Internal tab of a particular activity in CJ20n?
Here's a background of the scenario:.
- In CJ20n, under WBS element 100->Network 10->Activity 1, under the internal tab, the activity type set up is ACT1
- Under person assignment, I have 2 resources assigned Person 1 and Person 2, with the following values:
Person 1 Work: 1.0h Dur. 10D
Person 2 Work: 2.0h Dur. 15D
- In infotype 135, person 1 has a cost element set as ACT2 and person 2 has a cost element ACT3.
- The problem is that when you bring up the Plan/ Actual comparision report (ctrl+F11 in CJ20n), the costs are consolidated for ACT1 and negates the cost elements for Person 1 and Person 2
Is there a way to bypass this and use the individual cost elements set up for person 1 and person 2?

I dont think this is possible for the scenario that you explained. I mean, you have a single activity which has 2 resources assigned and each of these resources has a different activity type. Standard SAP allows only 1 activity type for an activity.
Just a query, why dont you create 2 different activities for these resources since the activity types are diff for both?

Foreign Exchange rate for INR to EURO

Hello,
I want to maintain Exchange rate for INR to EURO.
What exchange rate type "m", "EURX" or "EURX" is relevant for the conversion of INR to EURO.
How to maintain direct & indirect rate for the same ? I understand that system is not accepting rates maintained in "Direct Quote" coloumn.

For exchange rate from INR to EURO, system will not take rates maintained under exchange rate type "m". It only considers exchange rate type "EURX".

Git - maintain two branches for separate kernel26 packages?

Hi, I'm maintaining two kernel26 packages on the AUR (kernel26-ice and kernel26-rt-ice). I'm wondering whether git would be suitable for maintaining a repo for both packages.
kernel26-rt-ice is just derivative from kernel26-ice, but is currently very very left behind since the -rt patch devs haven't released since 2.6.33. This may or may not change in future, but the resulting difference between the PKGBUILDs increases my maintainance time.
Previously I just had a small script which copied the kernel26-ice files to another folder, some sed hackery to change names/configs etc. Now I'm wondering if I could set up git branches to do the same. My idea is as follows:-
1. Two branches named kernel26-ice and kernel26-rt-ice
2. Changes made in kernel26-ice (the more active one) can be cherry-picked into kernel26-rt-ice. This includes general cleaning up of PKGBUILD etc. but not the commits which involve updating variables etc.
Is this task suitable for git? Or should I just maintain separate trees and diff them every once in a while?

What is the benefit over manual trees/patches in this specific case? I understand primarily the source control benefit (using it myself for my thesis software development), but am unfamiliar on whether it would actually make my life easier maintaining both packages.
err there are so many things I could go into..
with git you will basically have no issues.
if you currently have no issues, don't switch. if you currently have one or more issues with your workflow, switch to git and those issues will be gone.

Price of activity type

Hi everyone,
We could maintain the price of activity type by transcation code:KP26, but we must maintain it manually every month. I would like to know whethere SAP could reckon the price automatically every month, or system calculate when we clkick a button. If could please let me know how to do. If not, is there a good way to calculate the price of activity type except maintain it manually.

The Activity Price calculation depends on the planning you do for the activity. If you planned for 12 periods and the planning data is different for each period, running Plan Activity Calculation will calculate a different plan rate for the activity for each period. This can be done using KSPI and it does not matter whether you run this at the start of the 12 month period or somewhere in betwen - if the planning data stays the same, the system will calculate the same price irrespective of when you run this.
If you wish to calculate the Actual Activity rate each period, that may certainly differ each period depending on the consumption of activity, the actual costs etc. For this you HAVE to run the Actual Activity Price calculation each month using KSII. You have no option. Infact, not running the Actual Activity price calculation will result in no price update of your activity (which will inturn affect Material Ledger or Actual Cost, if active).

Six activity types in a Resource but require more splits

We got a limitation on the number of activity types to be assigned to the resource(work center) as such there shall be limitation on the splitting of Costs in cost component structure as well. So to tide over the difficulty, We can have one more dummy resource for utilities for assigning another six more activity types.
But without this arrangement of having extra resource, how template allocation aid in this. Pl explain in detail. Is there any way other than template allocation?. To be precise in my query, we need to use activity type for machine hour for splitting Repair & maintenance exp and Factory admn expenses, etc.
For your kind info, I do not want to use costing sheet due to its limitations.

Well, I had to face a similar situation and the PP guys had a lot of reservation against confirming an extra operation... What we agreed to was as below
1. I made them agree to maintain a 2nd operationin Routing...
2. PP guys wont confirm this operation... This would be confirmed in a batch mode at the period end.... However, in my case, the activity qty in 2nd operation was based on a formula i.e. based on the Qty confirmed in the 1st operation....
If you wish to adopt this approach, you may have to confirm the Standard Qty....
3. The solution was that I used BAPI BAPI_PRODORDCONF_CREATE_TT... I created a Z T code which would execute Date / Plant wise....
I gave all the options like executing in test mode first... checking the result and then posting in update mode
It would confirm the 2nd op in all those Prod Orders in which 1st operation was confirmed.... Ofcourse, it took 2-4 months to stabilize.... But now, it is running smoothly for over 2 yrs

4. Then, enter exchange rates

Exchange rates are valid for everyone, they cannot be maintained for a single user. However it is possible to create separate exchange rate types and maintain separate exchange rates for them. These types could be added to some special document types, but it only works in FI.

Dynamic profile DP90: Tranfer personnel number and activity type

Could you please be a little more specific? the process we have is as follows:
Service Order (client) --> times notification to service order (using CATS) --> billing request --> Invoice
We need to link the data in the billing request/invoice items (which correspond to the times notified by CATS) to the rest of data not trasfered existing in CATS.
Can you please explain the difference between those characteristics that are used to create the dynamic items and those that can actually be transfered to the SD Document?
We are able to transfer today to the SD documents the service order number but that is not enough. Additionally we would need in the SD doc. the time confirmation number or another variable so we can find the rest of information for that item (personnel number, activity type...)

PDC interface - PM/CS confirmation without Activity type

Hi,
We have a problem with PM/CS PDC confirmations in our ECC6 version of SAP. For PS & PP, the default activity type is populated automatically when doing the confirmation. But for PM/CS, the activity type is left blank. All three CONFXX idocs have no activity type specified.
The only thing I found regarding this problem/behavior is a OSS note, dated from 2001. OSS number is 0000381846. Is this note applicable for our system?
Is there someone who knows about this?

what you are willing to implement is not a supported functionality in the current Yard management.
If this is not yet the case, I would encourage you to open a SAP Customer message so that your question gets checked and analysed at development support.
