Standard WBS Elements Screen layout/Settlement rule/IM assignment
Few questions about Standard WBS elements
1. Is possible to have my own layout for the WBS element detail screens while creating/changing the standard WBS element (CJ91/CJ92)?
2. Is it possible to maintain the settlement rules for the standard WBS elements?
3. Is it possible assign the standard WBS elements to the IM program/position?
I know that all the above possible are only in case of operavtive WBS.
If possible with Std WBS elements, please help me and let me know.

SreenivasSreenivas,
I´m afraid that none of the 3 options is available via standard tools
I´m so sorry.

Vendor wise/Invoice wise consumption for each WBS element
Any standard report from SAP, which provide details of Vendor Purchase order / Contract, details of SES with WBS no. and details of Vendor invoice in columnar form.
SAP system can not generate standard reports giving vendor wise/Invoice wise consumption for each WBS element of particular asset.
Please help me to get this report.
Thanks in Advance.Hi
Your starting point should be CJI3 report or any PS report... Here you get the FI Doc no
If this FI Doc No is generated from MM, check the Header segment of the document.. It would have MM Doc NO + Fisc Yr populated in the ref key... This gives you the link between FI & MM
From here on, you can take it forward... You can look up this doc no in MSEG Table and find the PO no... Then go to EKBE table for other PO details....

Reversing TECO status for Multiple WBS elements
Hi,
Question on setting and then reversing TECO status for a WBS element.
When a project is closed technically in project builder, all underlaying items (wbs, network/activity) are technically closed as well.
When you try to undo this, only the status of the top element is changed, not the underlaying items.
Is there any way in which we get the underlaying items changed as well (mass change is not an option)
Regards,
Jatinder BansalYou can try two methods :-
1. Open project in project builder, Select project definition and then go to WBS Overview under project definition, now select all WBS Element and then undo TECO status. Now all the WBS status will be updated. But, this will not have any effect on network and its activities.
2. Open the project in planning board, now select all the objects, now undo the TECO status. This will change the status of all selected objects like WBS,Network and activites.... -
Standard WBS Elements v Operative WBS elements as templates
Hi
I am considering the use of Standard WBS elements however one of the limitations that I have identified is that it is not possible to enter the any default settlement parameters into the WBS elements.
As our Work Breakdown structures are a combination of both operative as well as capital WBS elements (for accounting purposes) it is not possible to enter the default Settlement Profile in the project profile. ie: Mulitple settlement profiles are used across the WBS elements for a single project profile, depending on the required accounting treatment.
Ensuring that users enter the correct settlement paramters for each WBS element cannot be gaurenteed and it does not appear possible to use sustitutions to populate these parameters. Month end settlement is often problematic and the correct accounting treatment is essential so I am looking for alternatives.
One alternative that comes to mind is to set aside a range of operative WBS elements for use as templates. This would then ensure that all required fields in the operative structures are pre - populated including the settlement parameters.
Has anyone used operative structures in this way and if so are there any potential issues?
Thanks in advance.
IanHi Hermant,
Thanks for your ongoing input. I am still not sure my original message was clear.
The key point is that I am talking about using a range of operative structures as templates. "lets just say the first 200 operative structures will be designated as templates." These operative structures to be used as templates, contain different settlement parameters for each WBS element.
In your first post you mentioned.
"2. But this will not solve your purpose as copied projects will not have the settlement profile "as it is" in the std. operative WBS elements. Settlement profile gets defaulted from project profile... hence you will have to mainatin it manually again in the copied projects."
and in your second post.
"That is what I mentioned in my earlier post... although you maintain different settlement parametes in project which is to be copied.. it won't be inherited in new project. You will have to maintain it manually..."
This is not the case, you actually do not need to maintain these settlement parameters manually when you copy an operative structure. (used as a template) This is exactly why I am considering using operative structures and NOT standard structures as templates. I agree, when using standard structures no settlement paramaters are inherited.
As I mentioned in my first post the Project Profile will not contain a settlement profile. Hence when the operative structure with pre populated settlement parameters is used as a "template" and copied to create a new operative structure all settlement parameters are copied / inherited to the new operative structure. This is the result based on my prototype. Try this, copy an operative structure that has pre populated settlement parameters and you will see that all these settlement parameters are copied.....at least in my system that is the way it works.
I hope this helps clear up any misunderstanding.

How do we get complete hierarchy for a WBS element??
Hi All,
Is there any FM to get complete hierarchy for a WBS element??
Or any other method that would achieve this requirement ??
Eg:
C.00103.1
C.00103.1.1
C.00103.1.2.3
C.00103.2
C.00103.2.1 etc
If i give C.00103.1, all the WBS elements in the hierarchy should be displayed.
Any pointers are of great help.

Available Methods
Getinfo : Read detailed information about WBS [ BAPI_PROJECT_GETINFO ]
Maintain : BAPI: Project maintenance [ BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN ]
SaveReplica : Replicate work breakdown structure (ALE) [ BAPI_PROJECT_SAVEREPLICA ]
The WBS hierarchy object type defines the hierarchy of the WBSelements. A project definition always has exactly one hierarchy. If theposition of a WBS element changes, the whole hierarchy has to berebuilt. Therefore, the WBS hierarchy object type has only one command:
Create. Every WBS element receives exactly one entry in the table parameter IWbsHierarchieTable with which it defines its position.
Command: Create
Use this command to create or change a WBS element hierarchy for aproject definition. Enter the WBS hierarchy object type and the Create
command in the table of the IMethodProject parameter. The commandrefers to all entries in the table of the IWbsHierarchieTable parameterthat contains the data for the data for the hierarchy. Each entry inthe IWbsHierarchieTable refers to a WBS element that describes its position relative to the other WBS elements.
Example
- Positioning WBS elements TRAINING , TRAINING.1 and TRAINING.2 . (WBS elements TRAINING.1 and TRAINING.2 are subordinate toWBS element TRAINING. WBS element TRAINING1 is positioned on the left of TRAINING.2.)

Tables for Budget allocated and spent for a WBS element
Dear experts,
I am new to PS domain, kindly tell me the table names where I can find the Budget allocated to a WBS element and Open budget for a WBS element.
Thanks & Regards,
Murthy.Hi,
I think by conversion cost you mean Production cost of the turbine.
Since you do both the actvities Material procurement and production under the same WBS. The budget cannot be tracked separelty.
Have 2 different WBS strucute one for procurement and one for production. However you can add the existing Nwk activities to these WBS.

No costs visible for statistical WBS element
Hi,
The followin steps are the setup:
- Project with a statistical WBS element and a network below
- Create a PO with Account category "Fixed Asset"
- Fill in a fixed asset, but also a (statistical) WBS element (put field 'project' optional in customizing)
- execute a MIGO to book costs
Now when I run the cost report for this project using transaction CJI3 then I do NOT get the costs visible on this statistical WBS element.
HOWEVER when I do the same steps, but instead of putting a statistical WBS element I put the network (next to the fixed asset) then I do get the costs visible.
Is this normal or do I have to change something in order to get the costs visible for my statistical WBS element?
kindest regards
bertIs this necessary?
Because in the end I want to book these costs as actual costs on my fixed asset... -
Query Regarding transfer of WBS element change data
Hi All,
We have a requirement in which we need to transfer the change/create/delete information for WBS element in SAP to a third party system for certain set of specified fields.
The problem we are facing is that the change and create information dosen't get updated in the CDHDR and CDPOS tables, but the master table for WBS element (PRPS).
One way of fetching the change information is to compare the old and new field values for the specified fields, which seems to be a tedious job.
Just wanted to know if there is any other possible solution to the above requirement????
Thanks in advance,
Manish GuptaYou should also include Oracle Warehouse Builder in your evaluation. It uses Oracle gateways to pull data from 3rd party databases and supports loading from flat files as well. If these data sources support ODBC, then you might be able to load via the ODBC (Generic Connectivity Gateway), wouldn't be super fast, but it you could manage the dowtime...

I have a question for the project system,
As a part of restructuring process I have to open some of the WBS element of co.code 0400 to co.code 0015, from the 01/01/2007.
Is it possible to change the co.code in WBS elements of co.code 0400 or i should create new wbs elements by copying from co.code 0400 and then assign them to co.code 0015Hi,
I would transfer it to new wbs-el. too - as Jonathan said.
