Initially it displays the name of the file. Then it displays the title of the song from the ID3 tag if it is available - that is why you see it change.
Here is the cover and armband you want for your N200 - in some areas this comes with the player. You'll need to look for it in the Creative Shop web page for your area as this is from the US site.

• Problem with MuVo Micro N200...please help

Hey there,
I recently purchased a Creative MuVo Micro N200 Mp3 Player with 52 memory. It was working perfectly until yesterday when i tried transfering a few mp3s into the player. I was prompted with a dialog box that read 'cannot create file'. Thinking that it had something to do with my computer and tried my player again on a friends laptop and the same error message popped up.After that,i went to www.creative.com where i downloaded another driver and a new firmware. The driver was installed successfully onto my PC.However, when i tried intalling the firmware into the player the following message appeared 'cannot write into device.device timeout' even though i followed every step that was on the site. I know that it has nothing to do with my player memory as there is about 80mb of memory storage left.
What is wrong with my player? What can i do?
Any help is deeply DEEPLY appreciated.
Denis

What state has it left your player in? Can you switch it on? Can you connect to it from your PC?
When you couldn't get any more files onto your player where were the files on it's Were they all in the root folder? There is a limitation to the FAT filesystem where you cannot put too many files or folders into the root folder. Create sub-folders and put your files in them.
Let us know answers to the above questions. If you can't connect to your player there are a few things we can try to get you back up and running.

• Muvo Micro N 200 has a problem with FM recei

Hi All,
I bought recently Muvo Micro N 200 MP3 player ( 52 MB) and it sounds very good on MP3 songs. I tried for FM and end up with problem.
I bought this in Japan and Set the FM region to Japan and started Autoscan. It has given lot of stations and none of them are clear. All stations are received with Hissing sound and lot of noise along with relay. First I tought, there might be some problem with FM stations and checked with my another FM player. It worked well.
I do not know, what exactly is the problem. All FM stations are received with Noise. Please help me to correct this problem. Please let me know, if there are any settings to be done other than FM region setting to Japan, that I have already done.
Note : When I rotate my MUVO player in some angle, the FM receiving turns good and I found that, it receives well only in certain angles. Is it so.
Thanks,
Saravanan

If you are in Japan, the FM setting should be on autoscan
If you are anywhere else in the world, it should be international, the FM settings are not for where you bought it, it's your present location here and now.
The noise you hearing is most likely white noise, and yes the MuVo is very sensiti've to where it's placed on receiving signals

• Muvo Micro N200 Random Shut

Hi I recently purchased a black Muvo Micro N200. It was working great for awhile, but suddenly it just started to shut off. Its random. Then like everyone else, it would shut off when i barely turned it on and see the display muvo n200. Im reformatting and going to install then new filmware. Hopefully this solves the problem. Im just mad at the fact that this problem exists. How can creative release a product that has these problems. How could they sell a product with this problem, did they rush it's Didnt they test it out? This problem doesnt seem to be rare, they should have encountered it. I just hope they are fixing this problem. If i had known this would happen i wouldnt have bought it.
-was frustrated now disapointed

I'm having the exact the same problem. I've been using mine with .WMA files for the last month and I've had no problem with it. Now that I've starting using .MP3 files I'm having this problem all the time. After studying the behaviour for awhile, I don't think it is as random as it appears. It is happening consistently with the same .MP3 files that I've ripped from CDs at 224khz. I don't have a problem with any 28khz files and I don't have a problem with the same songs ripped at 28khz. I'm off to the customer support page to make a warranty claim. I think that's the only way to get anyone's attention.

• MUVO Micro N200 Proble

Can you please offer me some advice?
I Recei'ved my GB Muvo Micro N200 mp3 player on the 2nd July.
My issue: Transfer errors appeared with 394.3 MB of free space. I contacted Creative Labs support via email.
Their solution: Download new firmware upgrade and format Muvo N200. After doing this I couldn't transfer anything to my Muvo. I kept getting a transfer error message.
2nd email from Creative Support: I'm told to use MSCONFIG and carry out various actions. I then tried to transfer music via the accompanied software mediasource, this failed. I tried Windows media player and it worked the first time, but music fails to show up in media player.
Mediasource software fails to work properly (this came with the Muvo) and some song titles that display correctly to start with now end up with a title of "unknown" on the Muvo.
I'm waiting for more feed back from creative today (5/07/05). Creative support request email numbers are: (KMM67988292452L0KM) from 3/07/05 and (KMM68632452L0KM) from 4/07/05.
Is there anything I can do?

Read this thread to get more info on the root folder problem:
http://forums.creative.com/creativel...essage.id=5579
I'm not sure if this was causing balan's problem - it depends on what his error message was while he tried to transfer files. If this was the cause then he should create sub-folders off of the root folder and put his files in them.

• Random Problems with Zen Micro? Try a diff. USB cable

I know people have mentioned this in other posts, but I thought I would reiterate it here. Many people seem to be complaining that their player is not recognized, or only sometimes recognized, or recognized by Windows (as a USB device) but not by their Creative software, or songs won't transfer, etc. Well, I had some similar problems which ALL went away when I started using a different USB cable - the one that shipped with the Micro just doesn't seem to work consistently.
So, if you are having problems with your player that you can't seem to solve any other way, you may want to try a different USB cable. It worked for me.
Hope this helps - I am (now) loving my new Micro!

I tried a different USB cable also, I thought that it would help, but I still got the same problems. I can almost guarantee that although you think you may have solved your issues, they WILL come back.
I've also been experiencing the "Player Not Connected" problem with my Zen Micro.
I've also had the problem where the Zen Micro just freezes in the "Docked" screen even after it has been disconnected from the PC
I've noticed that these are common problems with Zen Micros with the new firmware (.0.03)
My old Zen Micro with the old, original firmware did NOT have this connectivity problem
Creative should investigate these issues associated with this new firmware, or maybe even making the old firmware available for download to see if this really is the source of all these problems.

• Need help finding Muvo Micro 1gb in *pi

I am in the UK, quite frankly I'm amazed that they have all these colours and what we get here is black, and white lol. Anyway I am trying to get hold of a gb pink one for gf so any assistance in getting hold of this is appreciated, even if I have to order from america or japan. I know the gb version in japan comes in pink but I need to know if the display will be in english and find a website i can order from to deli'ver to UK, I also think there is a V200 'chameleon' version in america which has changable covers?!?! again would need to find a site to order from, either way I need the cheapest way of getting a gb pink muvo micro.
Thanks
DC

yeah I was looking at the zen micros but she likes the muvo micro by far and the new ipod mini second (due to the new 8 our battery life vs creatives claimed 2 hours but actual 6 hours on the zen micro).
I am perfectly willing to import a gb pink muvo micro from japan (having looked around it seems the gb versions only come in black and red in america). However I need to find a site which will allow me to buy the gb pink muvo and have it shipped here, the one site i found, which was in japanese that i translated using babelfish, only allowed me to ship to singapore. I also checked ebay but there are none on there.
If anyone knows of a retailer that I can purchase it from that will ship it to the UK then thats what I will do but I need to sort it very quickly as its a bithday present needed by 6th june. If I cant sort something today I will have to look at the ipod instead.

• CREATIVE MUVO MICRO N

Does the Creative Muvo Micro N200 works with Mac? Thanks

I have found a faq where it is said that the Mp3 player can be used with a Mac just for drag and drop files, but not to use the special software that comes with it. It just you think. Thank you

• Muvo Micro n

I just want to comment about the n200. There are people who try using it, and the player does not see their music. This is because the music must be in the root or in files in the root. The player does not see music files that are further nested. The player also does not like having many files in the root. I didn't know this until I came here. It is not in the instruction manual. Information about this should be in the instruction manual and the printed quick start guide. The exact limits of how many items can be in the root, and at most how many songs per file that the player can deal properly with.

If your player won't play certain tracks it could be that the tracks are with DRM, and weren't transferred with Microsoft Windows Media Player, or MuVo N200 Media Explorer.
WMA + DRM has to be transferred to the N200 with:
MuVo Micro Media Explorer

Microsoft Windows Media Player 7 or higher

and tracks + DRM won't be played if you transferred them with:
Windows Explorer

Other software

• Can you recommend the MuVo Micro N200 512

aside from the zen micro, am also planning on getting one of these for gift giving to family members. please post your comments, recommendations, reviews of the MuVo Micro N200 52MB. thanks!

There is a known slight glitch in the N200, in that, for the 3 seconds when the backlight is on (say, when you press a button) you can hear a bit of a 'shh' noise. Apparently the level of the noise, or its being there at all, varies between individual players and what sort of headphones you go for. It's on mine, (black gb N200) but my plan from the start was to set the backlight to 'always off' as this saves batteries ( you can still read the screen, it just doesn't glow, in this setting). Even when it was on, it was for such a short amount of time, and so quiet, that it didn't bother me at all.
Setting this aside, I think that a gb N200 would be a great present.
Its main selling point, as far as I'm concerned, is that it's incredibly easy to use. You plug it in to the computer and save your songs onto it like you would save word files onto a floppy disc (remember them... ). As with a floppy disc, you organize the files into folders which you can name things like 'rock' 'classical' or give one an album name and stick all the tracks from an album into it.
The supplied software is logical, friendly and nice looking, but you don't have to use it to organize your files, the player can also be accessed as a UMS device - and of course this means that it's not just music files you can store on it.
Once you're out and about, it's child's play to select the folder you want to listen to, or you could just set it to 'random' if you'd prefer a surprise. You can also listen to a specific folder either in your set order, or listen to all the tracks within that folder randomly. The buttons and menus are logically set out and simple to get the hang of.
I have no complaints either about the sound, which is excellent as far as I'm concerned.
The player is also unbelievably tiny - the pictures do not do this justice! 'Cute' loving girls and 'gadget' loving boys will think this is amazing - I certainly do.
The FM radio is a nice touch, and I find reception to be pretty good, especially if I'm listening in the library (of course with low volume and closed earphones!) and so not moving about a lot. - the earphone cord acts as the antenna, so you don't want to be jostling it around. This is an arrangement shared by most mp3 players with an FM receiver
The battery life is better than certain other competitor'sand, for my amount of usage, really does seem to last forever.
I would definitely go for the gb, not the 52mb, as even someone who is not a huge music fan will appreciate the extra space.
Other features include voice recording, line in encoding, and recording of FM radio. While nice add ons, I would definitely say that if you want a voice recorder, buy a voice recorder etc, as these features are strictly little extras and are nowhere near as good quality as the players main purpose: - its mp3 and wma playback - which, as I have said, is excellent.
I think you can tell that I love my little player, but even I am aware that it has its flaws.
They don't matter to me, as the player does everything I want it to amazingly well, the question is: do they matter to you?
Hope that helps
x
Flaneur
PS (edit) - another plus is the fact that is flash memory based, which basically means that you can shake it around and there's nothing to rattle (or break!). Amazing if you're as clumsy as me.Message Edited by flaneur on 05-06-2005 :4 AM

• Creative Muvo Micro N200 h

I just bought a Muvo Micro N200 today. It can supposedly hold 20wma format songs. All my songs are wma format but I only have about 60 songs on the player and it says it is full. Can anyone help me? It says it holds more than that

The quoted number of songs assumes a recording rate of 64kbs, too low for quality sound. Sounds like your files might be recorded at 28 kbs. You could probably lower this to 96 kbs using Creative's software and still get very close to the same quality and increase the amount of music you can fit on your player.
