FM hypertext doesn't work - work around in RH doesn't work... need help!
I am working in TCS2 in Windows XP. I posted this in the RH discussion too... I hope that is OK that I put it here as well (hoping to reach the correct audience somehow!)
I am trying to single-source things. So I have created a huge doc in FM. Within FM, I have hypertext links to openfile a PDF (which works just fine in FM, and when I generate a PDF it still works nicely). Then I import into RH and those hypertext links don't work anymore. So I created my own little work around:
Went to that place and coded the FM hypertext as PRINT
Added a hypertext link (coded as ONLINE) that will jump to the required destination in the online help files
Works beautifully. But b/c I am single-sourcing (I think) whenver I make changes in the FM files and I have to update the RH files, the manual changes I've made to the RH files (as above) disappear. That is not going to work for me... I cannot do that manual work around everytime I update... too hard to remember, to time consuming, etc. etc.
Here is ultimately what I need:
-the PDF link to work in FM (which it does) - usable in PRINT generation
-a RH link which jumps to that location in RH - usable in ONLINE generation

Could it be as simple as the setting in the RoboHelp HTML Single Source Layout of "Mark Of The Web"? (MOTW)
With MOTW enabled, links to local files such as PDFs don't work. At least when you test using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Connect the iPod to your syncing computer and restore it via iTunes. However, if iTunes asks for the unknown passcode you need to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod from backup. For recovey mode see:

This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). Whenever i go to a website that uses java (like runescape), the window that has the java is all white screen and on the top left side there is a little sheet of paper with a folded corner with a red X on it.

Hello there.
It´s my 1st post in here as i have been searching for
help on the net about my work in freehand for university.
I only had some classes of freehand and so i´m not well
into the software.
The work i have to do is doing a logo for a fictional
audiovisual company and i´ve chosen the name "Spotlight"
What i want to do is to put a spotlight before the word and
connect it to the word with a line representing a cable.
The other option is to do 4 brims around the letter "O"
I´ve tried to draw a spotlight in freehand through the
pencil tool but it didn´t look that good. My teacher is a pro
and did a spotlight in the last class but i forgot how did he do
it.
Is there any special tecnique to do a spotlight? Or the 4
brims around the letter "O"?

CheersThe thing to always remember is that by default only closed
paths (i.e.
starts and ends at the same point) will be fillable with
color. Also
just by laying down four individual (non-joined) lines on top
of each
other does not make a shape. Individual paths need to be
Joined (Edit >
Join) into one single path. Here's what you can do to close
your
current paths:
FIRST: Make sure that they are in fact one path and not
several paths
touching each other. Then...
1) Select each path that you want to have a fill and either
complete the
path with the pen tool (click on one end point then the
other)
OR
2) With the path selected go to the Object Inspector and
click
"Closed", this will draw as straight line from one end point
to the
other to close it.
In the Future if you want open paths to be able to have a
fill go to
Preferences > Object and click on "Show Fill for New Open
Paths"

So I'm a total technophobe so please any help write it for idiots so i can follow it lol.
So I get my new ipod this morning and very happy I am until I plug into into my computer. My computer recognises it as an ipod but then comes up with the message error during installation, then it says the data is invalid. it does this if I plug the ipod in or if i use the new hardware wizard. So far I have tried unistalling itunes, re installing windows xp. When I try to remove the device from device manager it will not remove from the list.Ive tried it in different usb ports, I've tried system restore and nothing is working pleasssssssssssseeeeeeee help ive been at it for 7 hours now and i feel like crying
Ive been tryingin the device manager it has a yellow question mark and according to the error code this is because the device is incorrectly configured i have no clue how to fix this
I am reluctant to uninstall usb drivers as I have discovered today the system disc for my computer is broken so i wont be able to to reinstall major components of puter.

Exchange Active Sync won't work need help
I have been reading a few dozen of these post that people are having issues with there iphone sync with exchange. I am TOO!.
For some i can get into owa and from the iphone safaria.
The iphone was able verfy the ssl certificate, but nothing is syncing with mail server
My network infrastructure.
1. Clustered mail server . Running exchange server 2003.
2. firewall- port 443 has been verified to be open and able to acces owa from iphone safari
3. I have NO isa setup in my network.
4. Called SSL verisign company and everything checked out to be fine.
5. virtual folders have been verified to be correct.
6. checked dns report no errors.
7. AD exchange feature mobile services and protcols was verfied to all on.
8. turned off wifi
9. checked all creditals.
And it just won't push anything. I have come to the conclusion that is either IIS or Iphone is using a multiply protocol ports to access the exchange. But i don't know i need HELP
Simple troubleshooting steps to start with:
1. Check your version of Exchange. Must be at least 2003 w/SP2.
2. Check your security certificate. If you go to your "https://webmail.yourdomain.com/owa" or "https://webmail.yourdomain.com/exchange" and receive a certificate error, you may want to look into an external certificate from a recognized CA. I used SBS through my registrar.
3. Check to ensure your "Front-End" and "Back-End" server are not both requiring SSL. That will cause issues with OMA.You don't want to check OWA (Outlook Web Access) as it is a full mail client for a notebook or desktop.
The iPhone uses ActiveSync OMA for syncing. Thus, you want to check https://www.domain.com/OMA (where www.domain.com is the URL to the Exchange server - same URL as the OWA url) with a notebook or desktop. The "s" in https is needed at OMA requires SSL.
You should see a login prompt for username and password followed by a list of Inbox messages. If you don't, the server is not correctly configured for OMA.
Once OMA works from a desktop or notebook, it is an easy procedure to add an Exchange account to a phone. Just follow the iPhone on screen examples and provide only the path to the Exchange server and not the "/Exchange" following.

I have been trying to get my ipod to work by following the online troubleshooting guide but it doesn't help.
my ipod doesn't start properly it shows that file icon wioth the caution symbol, and sometimes shows a battery icon with that same symbol, when it connects it stays connected for a few secondsthen it restarts a there is a clicking sound coming from the ipod.

If you are getting the "sad iPod" and the iPod's hard drive clicking, these are both indicators that your iPod's hard drive is probably out of place. Before you go to Apple about this, try this and see if it solves the problem for you:
To get your iPod's hard drive back into its correct place, use you hand to tap it firmly on both sides several times, or until if you hear the hard drive stop the clicking.
This isn't a joke, because an Apple employee instructed someone to do this, and it has worked for many people ever since!

Try a restore from iTunes. If it is still not functioning, then it is likely to be a hardware problem and needs to go to Apple for repairs. You can get repair information by clicking the Support tab at the top of this page and then looking in the right hand column. You will still be under warranty.

DVD Player Not Working - Need Help Please!
My eMac is currently not reading DVDs. The drive will recognize and automatically play commercial music CDs and software, as well as burned music CDs. However, when a commercial DVD is inserted into a drive, not only will the DVD player not recognize or play it, the eMac does not even notice that there is a DVD in the disk drive.
Any suggestions or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

there are a number of things for you to try. one is to do a pmu reset. instructions are found in step 6 of this article. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=34885 if you have an ati graphics emac or later, then the pmu button is on the right side, not the left. if that doesn't work, then try resetting the firmware. boot to open firmware by holding apple-option-o-f and then type in the following commands--
reset-nvram (hit return)
set-defaults (hit return)
reset-all (hit return)
the last command will restart the computer. if neither of those things works, then i would try booting to the install disk and running disk utility. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214 if that fails, then i would create a test user (system preferences > accounts, then hit the plus sign) and see if there is any difference there. let me know how that is going for you. IEPG Titan tv not working ,Need help please
I recently installed MSI tv@nywhere Master into a new Dell XPS system, using all the latest drivers, and programs avaliable on MSI's website, i'm happy to say that everything worked well except for the EPG.
When I click on a program to record, a box opens up asking for an IP address, whether or not I supply the address the project apears in the schedual but the program does not start.
After the project was supposed to start, if I open MSIPVS a box opens saying that the server is using the program, and I need to change modes to use it???
I'm stumped. Any help will be welcome.It sounds like you've turned on some Universal Access features.
(The clue was the black line around selected text boxes.)
If you have volume turned up, you may hear the system voice speaking the text in the black outlined boxes.
You can turn the various Universal Access features on/off in System Preferences, System, Universal Access.
It's also possible to enable/disable various keyboard shortcuts in System Preferences, Hardware, Keyboard & Mouse. -
Time Capsule not working - need help
Hi guys,
I just bought a Time Capsule to replace my Linksys E2000. The E2000 was running fine but I wanted a wireless external HD, which the Time Capsule provided.
So I've set the Time Capsule up with all the same settings for my ISP, which are as follows:
IP address: 121.73.247.68
subnet 255.0.0.0
gateway 121.73.247.1
dns 203.97.78.43
203.97.78.44
After doing all the setup and plugging the ISP internet cable into the WAN port, the Time Capsule light went green.
The problem is I have no internet connection!
I can ping the router (10.0.1.1) but that's it. No DNS server response and no web access. I've fiddled around with the settings for ages and have run out of ideas.
I'm kind of annoyed with Apple - this has definitely not 'just worked'.
As soon as I plug back in my E2000, everything works fine. So I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with my ISP or the cable modem.
Anyone have any ideas?I found another post on this site (can't locate it now though), but someone else had the same problem and I did something similar to him and I finally got my TC and modem to work together. I unplugged the power and cable from the modem for about 20 minutes total. During this time the TC was still powered and plugged in to the modem. Then before I powered the modem, I unplugged the power for the TC for about 5 minutes, plugged power to TC back, then connected cable on modem followed by power to modem. It miracously worked after that, I didn't even have to change any settings through AirPort for the TC.
I have NO clue why this particular sequence of events worked, but I know I did all of those steps (maybe not in that particular order) and had been unsuccessful.
The post I read earlier used the following steps - Keep the TC connected to the modem the entire time, unplug power for the TC for 5 minutes, then plug power to TC back. Unplug power & cable from modem (can't remember if he left it unplugged for a specific time), then connect cable & power for modem.
The only reason I left my modem disconnected for 20 minutes was because I had read it takes varying amounts of time for the modem to reset. I don't have a reset button on my modem so that wasn't an option for me and calling the ISP to reset my modem didn't work either - I did that twice on Saturday with no success, but I don't remember if I had the TC still connected? I tried so many different things over the last 48 hours, but all I know is the steps above worked for me.
