  • Help to choose (HD) radio dock for iPod Nano 4th Gen

Can you help me decide what radio dock to get for my new iPod Nano 4th Gen?
    Desired features:
    Speaker (obviously)
iPod doc compatible with iPod Nano 4th Gen
    Radio AM/FM/HD
Reasonable audio quality (at a minimum)
I'm thinking of staying away from clock radio type docks as I suspect the audio quality on a clock radio dock is likely inferior to a speaker style dock.
I'd appreciate your comments - Thanks!

    Thanks for the suggestion!
I continued my search and also came across this one (Sony XDR-S10HDiP):

When I checked this model earlier in the week I could have sworn they only claimed support up to iPod Nano 3rd Gen, but today they claim 4th Gen.

  • How to listen to radio when the iPod nano is docked?

On the iPod, the antenna for the radio is the cable of the earspeakers. However the earplug is on the same side as the docking plug. Is there any accesoire for that or should I make my own design?

If your docking station has a line-in input, you can get a male to male audio cable and it will act as the antenna. I just did this with my nano and it works fine. Only prob is you can't adjust the volume with your docking station remote and the vol on the nano only goes so high. Hope this helps.

  • How to play radio on my ipod nano

Can it even do this. I think it is naff that you dont get intructions or a case when you buy it also. Anyway my original question- can it play radio?????

    Gemma,
    1. A simple review of the product details before
    you
buy something will tell you what it will and will
    not
do. Clearly you did not do any research about the
iPod before you bought it or you would have seen
    that
it does not have a radio built in. Do you usually
buy things without finding out if they do what you
    want?
2 .You do get instructions with the iPod, they may
not be extensive but they cover all the basics,
    did
    you read them?
    3. There are a great deal of online Apple
    tutorials
for the iPod at the Apple web site, you will find
    them here :-
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/
They cover all the things you need to know.
    4. It does not say that it comes with a case and
therefore you should not expect one. Not everyone
will want a case and if they do they will want to
select one for themselves. I don't want to pay for
    a
case that I won't use or won't want. It would
    only
be added onto the price anyway. If you want a
    case
go and buy one, there are lots of styles to choose
    from.
    Ian
first off, that was pretty mean and griffin
technologies will be coming out with an itrip
esecially made for the nano. it's pretty hot too.
just wait a couple of months and they will start
    selling them.

  • How can i listen to radio when the ipod nano is placed in a dockingstation?

The radio antenna is integrated in the earphones. But the earphonesocket is placed on the buttom of the ipod and must be removed when placed in the dockingstation. Without antenna no radio.
Do wee need a special dockingstation adapter with antenna for ipod 5g?
(Who thought it was good idea to put the earphonesocket in the buttom of the device!?)
I can put my ipod classic in the dockingstation and connect the earphones on the top of the device. It plays through the dockingstation and the earphones as well.

If your docking station has a line-in input, you can get a male to male audio cable and it will act as the antenna. I just did this with my nano and it works fine. Only prob is you can't adjust the volume with your docking station remote and the vol on the nano only goes so high. Hope this helps.

  • Quick question about the FM Radio in the iPod Nano

Can I listen to stations not in my geographical region? For example, can I listen to LBC outside of London?

With FM radio, You can not reach the stations that don't broadcast in your region. But you can listen to them online (if they broadcast tha station online), by computer or some apps on cell phone.

  • Help connecting new iPod Nano to iHome radio

I got an iHome radio with a iPod Nano recharge station (and Nano played through radio's speakers). When I lost that, I got a new Nano, but the belt clip means I cannot push down so that the Nano's insie port connects with the iHome's outsie port. Is there some sort of cable or connector available so I can still play the Nano and also recharge it on my iHome?  iHome is model iH10B

Well, to use it, I guess I'll need to purchase snow leopard, is that correct?
It depends upon what computer model you have.  If you have a G series computer such as G4 or G5 you cannot run anything higher than Leopard, and may not even be able to run that if it is a really old G4 or lower.  If you have an older Intel model you may not be able to run anything higher than Snow Leopard.  You might possibly be able to run Lion.  To get more information about your computer, go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number.

  • How come apple doesnt add a radio to the ipod touch like and ipod nano

Apple should add a radio app to the ipod touch just like they did to the ipod nano. It doesnt have to be am/fm it could just be and fm radio like the ipod nano. If they were to add that feature they should add it to the next ipod touch update.

Apple does not announce why it does, or does not do, many things like that and it is against the terms of this forum to speculate on such things.  To make a recommendation to Apple see:

  • Trying to add kgo podcast to ipod nano

tryingtoadd kgo radio podcast to ipod nano using itunes

You can only transfer music and videos through iTunes. If computer/laptop music folders is what you mean of "existing library", then it would not be possible. Add your files first to iTunes then sync.

  • Can I download iheart radio on the newest generation ipod nano?

I am in the market to buy a new iPod to use while working out and I really like the shuffle and nano because they are smaller than my iPhone 6. I just need to know if I can have iheart radio on either of these options or if it all has to be music from my library.

    Hi!
Unfortunately you can't download any app to run it on iPod Nano.
The songs you want to listen to, they must be on your library on iTunes, so you can sync it with iPod. The other thing you can do is listen to the FM stations near you, because iPod has this function available

  • Ipod Nano 6th gen USB problem with JBL 1000 Radio

My Ipod nano 6th generation will nt sync to my JBL Radio sytem through the USB Port. I am trying to download music from my Ipod to the hard drive on my JBL Radio. I have done this before with a different name brand player through the USB Port.
The Nano USB port works on my Lexus Radio system but not my JBL Car Radio.
Is there a compatibility issue with the 6th generation nano USB port and the JBL USB Port? My JBL radio is a J-1000.
    Thanks in advance.

I currently have iPod Nano with 1.1.1 software update and iPod Radio Remote, but even after the update I do't get the radio option to appear in the main menu or music menu, with the option in settings turn ON. Why isn't this thing working?

    hiya!
just doublechecking something. are you connecting the remote directly to the nano, or are you connecting it to a Dock and putting the ipod in the dock?

  • IPod Nano + Sony personal audio system - how to get radio to play?

We got a Sony RDP-M7iPN personal audio system - that's a good thing.
But the iPod Nano won't play radio if the headphones aren't plugged in.  When it's docked on the Sony system, it won't play radio and there's no way to get a headphone jack plugged in (no room).
Is there something we're missing?  Or is there some adapter we need?  Any thoughts?

Go on to System Preferences and open the Bluetooth icon. Ensure that the SRS-X2 speaker is switched on and next to the Macbook; press down on the Bluetootch icon that is above "pairing" on the speaker and keep pressing it down until it beeps; your Macbook should now be able to find the speaker and you can click pair to pair the two together.

  • TS1425 iPod nano - loses functionality when connected to car radio

For the past week, when I connect my iPod nano (4th generation) to a car radio (and I've tried it in several) it brings up a splash screen of the radio manufacturer which stays on the iPod screen and prevents any further access to the iPod functionality. This only happens when connected to a car radio, otherwise the iPod functions normally. So in effect, the iPod is unusable when connected to the car radio, which is where I do most of my listening. Anyone know how to help eliminate this problem?

It sounds like a battery issue to me. When you connect it to the PC it draws power from the computer and thus it is able to function. Apparently it doesn't have enough of its own juice anymore. You probably just need a new battery.
