FM to Change MRP type

Hi all,
I have a requirement to mass change the MRP type from PD to V1,
Is there any FM available for this.

Hi,
Are you trying to change value of MARC-DISMM?
If you are, you can use BAPI BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA.
Also you can use transaction MASS with object type BUS1001.
Next step, select table MARC, and fields MARC-DISMM.

Dear,
Tcode: MM17
Select Plant Data for material: MARC
In the menu: Click on Select New Fields
In the selction list, pick MRP type
Once MRP type is selection, replace old MRP type with NEW MRP type
Once New MRP type is selection, enter the materials or plant for which NEW MRP TYPE is applied
Lastly, execute the transaction.
OR,
You are trying to change value of MARC-DISMM

Change MRP type?

The MRP type in the material master is grayed out and cannot be changed.
How can I change the MRP type?

Hi,
Go to MARC table. You can get the MRP profile assigned to Material and Plant.If you find a profile assigned. Then go to MMD2 and check the field for the Profile. Uncheck the check indicator under MRP type. This should allow you to change the MRP type for the Material.

Change MRP type at storage location level

Morning,
i am having trouble with PD and ND reporting. Your you are aware ND should only have balances of 0 and PD should only have balances of >0. When i run a reportto show all PD stock and exclude the positive balances, i am getting MM numbers appearing that are 0 in 1 sLoc but have a positive stock balance in another sLoc. This becomes a problem when i change the PD to ND because it changes at plant level. i only want this to be changed at the sLoc with the 0 stock balance.
I have tried MM06 to flag the MM for deletion at sLoc level however, when running the report again, the sLoc with 0 stock balance still shows.
Also, i have about 800+ that need changing so a solution to do this in a batch would also be appreciated.

Go to IMG settings 'Materials Management + Consumption-Based Planning + Planning + Define Storage Location MRP per Plant' Enter your Plant, It will show list of storage location in that Plant, then select 2 in 'MRP Indicator' field for storage location for which u want to plan seperately.

Error msg when changing the MRP type in ME22N

Hi,
When i change MRP type from MRP to Manual in ME22N, it will come out the error msg:Purchase request mandatory for MRP generated Purchase order (Application area: ME Message no. ME901)! My question is how to change this error msg to warning msg?
From SPRO-Material Management-Purchasing-Environment Data-Define Attributes of System Messages ,i can not find the entry regarding this issue.

Sometimes end user want to add some item without PR under MRP PO.
As before system will only indicate the warning msg that we change to error msg three month ago, but i forgot how to change!

MRP type change from VB to PD - Problem in old requirements MD04

Hello Experts,
For MRP run we were using VB as MRP type in material master. We upload schedule in scheduling agrrements. At time of MRP run system was only considering based on reorder point only.
Now business disicion is change and we have changed MRP type as PD. So at time of MRP run system should consider based on requirements i.e. from scheduling agreement. Now here is our problem. System consider and shows old scheduling requirement also in MD04. Let me explanin you in detail. Before changing MRP type from VB to PD, there were some schedule available in system. after that we have uploaded 2 3 more schedule. But system still shows old schedule availabe at time of MRP type change.
Can you please help me how to resolve this?? How can we clear old requirements from system.

Change of MRP type from PD to VB lost all future scheduling agreements?

Hi,
Curretly client is using MRP PD with forward scheduling of 120 days and total horizon of 240 days (it is scheduling 6 months back and 6 months forward from current date) so that Vendor will always have at least 6 months of forecast requirement and client wants to use Min/Max and Reorder point as the key fields for inventory? will this is possible by changing MRP type VB or V1 or R1?
I have a taken a test material and changed MRP to VB and it did not ran for forward dates as the stock was not below reoder point? what are the points i'm missing here?

Reorder point will never work for this scenario becuse it is only checking the reorder level.

I have created a material with MRP type as PD and lot size as EX, and strategy group as MTS. Now when i enter requirement through MD61 and do MRP Run through MD02, system is generating PR instead of Del Schdule line inspite of schduling agreement.
But If i change MRP type to VB and maintain reorder point and maintain min lot size, then system generates Del Schdule lines for the same material.
What could be the reason. I want delivery schedules based on MRP Type PD.
Where I am wrong in MRP Views or in any cutomization. It seems that purchasing part is fine since it creats scudles line so no problem in SA or in Source List.

After being thru with your query,i would like to reply your ultimate question"I want delivery schedules based on MRP Type PD"
Simple answer:put parameter 'delivery schedule line' as '3'(schedule lines in opening period) without simulation mode.
Please make sure you don't make any change with previous settings(custom)
please get it done and revert.

Purchase Order is generated after MRP for Material with MRP Type ND

Hi Everyone,
Material type := HAWA
My material procurement type = F i.e. External Procurement.
MRP Type = ND in Production server , and VB in Quality
Lot Size = EX
Material Status :- 15 Pre-release both for Quality and production server
The Material is bulk material and bulk material indicator is set.
Purchasing View is also maintained for the same.
Planning Strat = Z5 Company specific
Special procurement key:- Z7 Company specific
I am running MD02 with following parameters.
Create Pur Req =1, PR
Create MRP List = 1, MRP List
Delivery Schedule = 3, Schedule Lines
Planning Mode = 2 Re- Explode BOM & Routing
Scheduling = 1
Issue:
After MRP run, system is generating PR, Though with MRP type ND purchase requisition should not be generated.
Observation:- Looks like there is inconsistency of material date in Quality and production server.
When I tried to run the planning , The Error message was generated"Material status is set to pre- release.
After changing the material status to 20 (Active ) , when we run the MRP , The error message is generated "Material is not planned automatically "
We havent been able to locate the root cause so far
Please guide us

system will read the X plant material status or plant specific material status first and then only system will read MRP type

Costing error while change mrp data in material master

Hi dears,
This is Rem process. when i try to change the material master MRP data ex. ( mrp type M1 to M0)
system not allow to change and show the error as
Product cost collector 000000750122 is still active (assigned to PrCtr 50601-025)
i need to change the mrp data in mm02 and i donot want to do delete the pcc .
any process to carryover

Hi,
MRP is mainly configured for a material so that tere would not be any need for manual checking of the stock so as to create a PR.
The parameters which you have specified for a particular material like reorder point and lot size will help in planning for a particular material.
If you need only Qty of two (Less) then there s no need of configuring a MRP for that material
And lot size is also decided basing on certain other factors like
1) Lead time
2) Transportation costs involved in procuring the material etc
So ifyou want to generate PR for a qty of 100 then you need ot change the lot size

Change Mrp Element Data of Production Order in MD04

Dear guru ,
In the mrp element data of the stock/requirement list for the production order I see the
Production order number , the order type , and the system add /RE if production order is released or
/PD if production order is partial delivered. No other information about others production order status.
How can I change mrp element data using Customizing or ABAP in order to recognize in MD04 if production order is confirmed or partial confirmed ?

I am not sure if CNF/PCNF will show up in the MRP Element data in MD04.I have checked PO which are also CNF/PCNF and i looked the same order in md04.It is not showing .U may need some ABAP help .
But if you really intersted to see the list PO status together , then go to COOIS and give plant , order type .It will give you all the order under that plant irrespective of material and also Status.U ave lot of option to filter the PO status under Status Profile or System status ok.

MRP Type V1, VB, or PD.

I am loking to maintain MM02 MRP Type and maintain re-order point at 0.
MRP Type V1 & VB are not allowing me to enter 0 as a re-order point value.
I am in a simple distribution environment where finished goods are purchased and issued with no sales or production requirements.
I would like to run MRP and generate Purchase Requisitions for items with re-order points.
I am also looking to maintain the Material Master for items that are not required to have re-order points but may need to be ordered in future.
The current MRP Type is: V1 with Lot Size: HB.
Therefore I am unable to change Re-Order point to 0.
What is the best setting for this enviroment to maintaint the Material Master and have re-order point of 0?

MRP TYPE for Periodic planning in the material master.

Dear gurus,
i need planned the materials in the periodic modality, are there the type MRP in the material master for create the planned file ( table MDVM) one once a month or in the specific period chose ?
Example :
I need that the material master don't create a file planned ( MD20- TABLE MDVM) for a change of the requirement situation new , but i would like that the flag in the table ( MDVM) or file of the planning MRP created when the today date is in the period specific.
31.3.2011 (or period 1.4.2011- 10-4-2011)Date for the create a file MRP and after when run MRP planned the material, for others scenary the system must not planned the material.
Are there the MRP type for my problem? Or the customizing setting?

Dani,
Not sure if MRP type or customizing can help here. And even if we are able to achieve this requirement it will be applicable at plant level.
However, try exploring option of periodic lot size (weekly, monthly, etc). This will work according to period you've set and should give you the results you are looking for.

Discontinued parts with MRP type VB

We have scenario as below :
1.       We have material A with stock 100, open PO 50.
2.       The material A is now planned to be phased out by replacing it with a new material B
3.       Material A had MRP type VB now we will change it to ND
4.       Material B will have MRP type VB
5.       So when we run MRP for materil B it should consider stock of material A & Open PO of Material A for calculation during the MRP run and the new requirement calculation should be
Example :
Material B is set up with RO point 100 and max stock of 150
So when we run MRP for Material B even though stock for material B is zero it should not generate any new requirement as stock & open PO of material A exists.

Please take a look on the following note, which explains the general restrictions of the discontinuation process:
43636 - Discontinued parts
The note provides the following explanation regarding the MRP type:
The material is planned using an MRP procedure, for example, MRP type PD.
Therefore, since you are using MRP type VB, which uses a reorder point procedure, the discontinuation will not happen and your system is working as designed.
