FM transmitter for my Honda

Anyone know of a good FM transmitter so I can listen to my Ipod Nano through my car speakers? Any tricks?

Most of the products you find on the apple store are good enough, and make not much of difference.
The key remains how many free freq. of FM channels around your area, as it will effect the quality of the signal received.
More FM stations = more signal influences

My Bluetooth USB wireless transmitter for my portable BT speakers has quit working.  Preferences says, "The selected device has no output controls", it used to work just fine.  The internal and a pair of wired external speakers work fine.  Can anybody help?

Just tested something and it worked.
If I put the headphones all the way in, the mac recognizes it as a digital output.
But if i don't put it all the way in, it recognizes it as headphones and works perfectly.
    It's probably this crappy headphones.
If anyone has the same problem, try this out.

Don't have 1 specific choice for you. But have you checked out the Apple online store to see what they offer?

  • FM Transmitter for IPHONE

I have a FM Transmitter for my Ipod and am wondering if there is any reason I can not use it for my IPHONE. It is a Kensington model# K33185. It fits into the port on the bottom of my phone but I am more concerned if the fact that it also acts as a battery charger would cause any damage to my iphone battery. Has anyone heard if there are any issues with this?
    Thanks

Mainly it might not charge the battery in the 3GS.

  • Is there a car charger and fm frequency transmitter for iPhone with IOS6?

is there a car charger and fm frequency transmitter for iPhone with IOS6?

Here is something interesting about car chargers and the iPhone 3G:
    From Macworld:
On to the power adapters. Here’s the story: We learned a while back that iPhone 3G doesn’t support charging “via FireWire.” The thing is, there are lots of devices out there that don’t actually have a FireWire port, but are technically FireWire chargers because they’re sending power on the dock-connector pins that were used for power by the FireWire interface. There are a lot of reasons for this, chief among them the fact that the FireWire spec allows as much a 18 volts, while USB is a 5-volt connection. Since cars provide 12 volts of power, many if not most car-chargers used the FireWire method to send power.
However, in the interests of space and simplicity (i.e., not having to engineer for two separate power paths), Apple has dropped support for FireWire charging with the iPhone 3G. This means that many accessories won’t charge an iPhone 3G. Borchers said that Apple gave accessory developers a strong hint that this was going to happen a while ago, but he said that some companies have continued to implement FireWire-based chargers despite the warning.
But there’s some hope in sight: Borchers told me that at least a couple of third parties will be releasing converters that will pass through the dock connection, but convert the power to a USB standard. That adapter may make many of those charging devices come back to life

  • What is the best FM transmitter for a car?

Hi, i want an FM transmitter for my iphone 4 so ic an listen to the songs through my car speakers. I would like one with a stand (must be strong though). Which is the best one to get? Im new to all this iphone life!

I don't know where you live, but if you live anywhere near a city of any size, you won't find any that work decently. There's simply too much interference, you will be disappointed. If you want to get something that works, get a direct connect kit from any aftermarket stereo shop, you'll be glad you did.

  • Compatible FM Transmitter for 5th gen nano

Hello. I've tried my 5th gen nano on two different fm transmitters for car use, and a message comes on the nano's screen and says something like "charging not supported with this device", also, it will not play music over the transmitters, just the nano's internal speaker. Does anyone know of a compatible FM transmitter for this 5th gen nano?? Make and model would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Welcome to the Forums, Sarcophagus!
Apple lists the following models as compatible:
    Griffin RoadTrip with SmartScan
    Griffin iTrip Auto with SmartScan
    Griffin iTrip AutoPilot
    Good luck!

  • Best iPhone transmitter for car

Anyone have any expiernece w/ a iPhone transmitter for your car? I have a old Monster one that I like for my iPod but it does not charge my iPhone so time for an upgrade. My buddy has a Belkin one but that *****.
    Thanks in advance

I use a Harmon Kardon kit. Runs around 150 when I got it. Come with a nice pod control device and a LCD display to show what songs are playing on the iPod. This allow you to control your iPod and still look at the road.
It does both transmission and aux plugin. You can choose which one you want to use. I tried both and the aux plugin is much higher quality then a transmitted one.

  • Adding RDS to FM-transmitter for N86

    Hi!
I'm wondering if it would be possible to customize the FM-transmitter for the N86 with RDS, so it also sends the artist and title of the song being played to the FM-receiver used? Now it only sends "Nokia", but that means there must be a function for the "sending part".
Had a SonyEricsson W980i before and it had this function. It's not a must, but is really neat when using the FM-transmitter in the car. Nokia doesn't want to be worse than SE, does it?

Ok, thanks for the info. I'll contact Nokia. But maybe some user knows if there someway to do this "homebrew"?

BTW I'm german so it's important that it's possible to buy it in Germany ;-)

another option is to use the Belkin FM transmitters that are often used for iPods. i had one before, the Tunecast 2 and it worked pretty good and made awesome beeping sounds reminiscent of the taxi cab meter sounds . they're pretty reliable and good quality, and always an option if you cannot purchase the official Nokia accessory in your country.
If you found this or someone's comments helpful or like what that person has to say, please give some Kudos to their post!

  • Anyone make a portable FM transmitter for iPhone?

I'm looking for a clip on the bottom FM transmitter that is portable. Not interested in one that works through the car with a cigarette lighter adapter. Anyone make one that has an iPhone form factor?

    Its called the iCarPlay http://www.monstercable.com/computer/productPageComputer.asp?pin=2084
It's pretty simple theres 8 preset stations you can use, there is always at least one that comes through clearly, It works great for me, but it depends more on where you live.

  • ITrip/FM Transmitter for Nano 5g, please help!

    Hey,
I am very confused about which iTrip's will and will not work with the nano 5G. I know if i was to buy an FM transmitter with a 3.5mm audio jack that it would work but an iTrip using the dock connector would be preferable.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me whichh iTrips would work with the 5G nano and if anyone knows if this iTrip specified for the 4G nano will work as that is the closet model?

The new iTrip with dock connector.
