FM Tuner in iPod

I only wanna to have a FM Tuner in a new Fifth Generation iPod.
If any one wanna to have this feature then please tell others and apple to insert FM Tuner.
It will definitely increase the sales in at least India where many people are fond of FM.
Please reply to this.

My MacBook Pro hard drive crashed a little while ago and has been replaced.  Is it possible to take tunes from iPod Classic and transfer all of them back to iTunes on computer?  Is this just for purchased tunes or can I do it for ones that have been burned from CD's as well?  Thanks for any help!

On my PC, in I-Tunes, the iPod (touch) button disappears every time I try to sync or update.  Everything has been rebooted, but no changes. Any ideas on how to sync to the IPod?  Better yet, how to keep the ipod button on screen when itunes is open and the ipod is connected?

    - Have you tried another USB port and cable?
    - Inspect the dock connector for bend or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

  • I-Tunes freezing/ Ipod not sync-ing

Hi. My iPod the other day seemed to have a minor disaster, and somehow wiped all my music (a 20GB click wheel). No drama I thought, just re-sync with i-Tunes. Each time I try this the i-Tunes info screen says "Updating Ipod, 1 of 4000 songs", but after about 6 songs the little circle icon stops rotating and nothing happens. I end up havnig to use task manager to turn off itunes, as it says "Not responding". I have restored my ipod a few times, and each time I reconnect to itunes I get the same result. Any ideas? Is my ipod just dead? I-tunes and ipod are both up to date with software.
    Thanks for you help.

Okay, with the driver-installer asking for a disk, that could be either a problem with your Internet connection itself.
Or, (which seems most likely) this could be a sign that a spyware detector or your firewall could be working together, or separately, to block processes (like iTunesHelper.exe), or block downloads from the Internet, etc.
Do you happen to have SpyCatcher installed on your computer? Or perhaps the McAfee Personal Firewall Plus?
Even if you don't have either of those security kinds of programs, let's try enabling any iTunes-related services, and solicited downloads/connections to/from the Internet, on your firewall, and with your antivirus/antispyware kinds of settings.
If you're not sure what firewall/security software you are using, you can always browse for the programs on your computer by going to "START > All Programs".
(Continue with the following steps with iTunes closed and your iPod disconnected)
If you're just using the Windows firewall, then you can use this article to enable iTunes on it:
How to enable iTunes on Windows XP firewall
If you're using McAfee Personal Firewall Plus, then use the instructions in this article to enable iTunes there (this artice only mentions "iTunesHelper", but allow anything Apple/iPod/iTunes related on that list... not sure if that is the only one listed there, but look around anyway).
If you are using something else, then usually, you launch the program, and go to some sort of section like "Settings", then go to something that says "Firewall settings", "Internet Permissions", or something similar.
Try to find a list of applications that it "Allows/Blocks".
Then, like normal, enable "iTunesHelper.exe", or "iTunes.exe", and "iPodService.exe" or anything else iTunes/iPod related (again, not sure if there are many things on that kind of list).
With all of these, also go to your antivirus/antispyware settings as well, and check that iTunes and solicited downloads and connections to/from the Internet (they will have different wording, of course), are allowed on your security program.
Now, after you've enabled iTunes processes on your firewall, restart your computer. Then, check your program, just to make sure that your settings haven't changed back to default, and are still allowing iTunes.

  • Jumping tunes on Ipod Touch !

I am loving my ipod touch 16gb!! However there is one annoying problem!! Some of my tunes are jumping before it has come to the end of the song and jumps to the next song on my playlist. This is happening more and more now. Why is this? I did have an ipod video 60gb but am now using the ipod touch. i have tried resetting my ipod touch to factory settings and re syncing it but the problems remain. HELP !!!

Well I've done a bit of searching and it seems like a known problem - it affect the 160gb iPod classics as well at the 80gb iPod classics (like mine) and seemingly your iPod touch as well. They had the same or a similar problem with the last generation of iPod classic so it sounds like the firmware.
One thing that might put it right is to change a setting on the track on your pc/mac. Whilst I've not yet tried this myself, one solution can be found here….

  • Can't copy tunes to iPOD mini

Using iPOD mini 1.4.1. Computere specs are below.
Having great difficulty with iPOD mini. Cannot copy tunes or playlists......"that have been purchased via iTunes store ........... Get a window telling a particular song cannot be copied, and lists other "problems" meaning songs which also cannot be loaded.
Does this have anything to do with the "cannot copy an iTune more than 7 times? If so, why won't it copy a tune that was just purchased and is being copied to the iPOD mini for the first time?
If this "7 times rule" (not sure where I read that, but recall doing so) is what's in the way, is there anything I can do about it on my end or do I have to call Apple.
This is not a situation where I'm just out to make copies for college friends. This is a problem related to having the Mac in the shop for the better part of a month. It was taken in to upgrade RAM from 256 MB to 1 GB, a routine procedure I was told. however, they had "issues" installing the RAM, resulting in a failed logic board, and other problems, then another logic board failure.
Now it's home. Trying to determine whether or not it's really fixed. The iTunes area is one problem we've already noticed. When we hooked it up, it copied the entire music library, went through several attempts to straighten it out, including "syncing," unsyncing" whatever. It would just delete songs, then we had to recopy them back onto the iPod. In general, a mess.
Any thoughts/advice would be very much appreciated.

    Sorry, one more thing:
tried to burn CD, got message "You are not aurhorized to burn song to CD" then list number of problems, which were the number of songs I was trying to burn.
    Somethings's seriously wrong here.
    Please help

  • Can't transfer tunes on iPod to new computer...

I purchased a new computer and am trying to transfer the music on my iPod to the iTunes library I set up on the new computer. It instructs me to go to "Store / Authorize" which I do. It then says I am now authorized for 2 of 5 libraries. But I still can't seem to transfer the music. I am not using my original computer anymore. Any advice? Thanks.

I presume you are aware that iTunes will only let you copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer as per the instructions in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
A selection of iPod to iTunes utilities:
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
SharePod Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    YamiPod Mac and Windows

    Floola Mac & Windows
iPodRip Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
Music Rescue Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • I cannot move tunes from ipod to computer

I had to re-install the operating system for my Power Mac G4. When I "enable disk" in the summary page for my ipod, I am unable to move tunes back to my computer. Does anyone know how to do this?

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. This is just a small selection of what's available, you can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod

  • Ripping smaller size tunes for iPod

When I rip CDs, I pick lossless. At that codec, I can get only so many tunes on my 8gig nano.
Is there a way I can take a selection of songs/albums and rip them to a smaller file size without harming or destroying my higher-quality rips?
    thanks for any clues!
    ray

Yes. Big pane to the right.
At the top are iTunes's control buttons, the place where the song/artist name and or equalizer is, and search window.
On the left "sidebar" is where it shows  smart playlists, and Music, Podcasts, etc. To the right of the left-hand side bar is an area I'd characterize as a big pane, or area.
In here, appear the album and Genre icons, or coverflow, or list view, and when you have an iPod connected and selected, you see information related to that iPod in this large "pane."
    HTH,

  • Transfering tunes on ipod to a new computer without having to backup to CD

Had to switch system and now I want to take my tunes from my ipod and move them to my new system and create a library. why is it that you cant sync your system going from the ipod to the MAC/PC?
So with that said, without burning anything how can I create my existing library on my ipod, to my new itunes instance on my laptop?
ipod Nano 2gb   Windows XP Pro

If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
There is also CopyPod. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

  • Error -124 shown when downloading tunes to ipod mini

When downloading music from itunes to my ipod I get the error -124 message coming up. It means that the downloading goes right back to the beginning. Last time this happened my computer crashed. What's going on and how do I stop it?!

plus the tunes have been downloaded onto the ipod even though itunes doesn't recognise it.
When i plugged the mini back into my computer after the computer restarted, itunes recognised that the tunes had been downloaded onto the ipod.
It's all very confusing. I saw on the net that this may be an ipod virus?! I'm worried coz this is a brand new ipod!

  • Transfering tunes on Ipod to computer (Mac)

My grandaughter has asked me to load some tunes from my library onto her nano, but without losing the music she already has on there. Can this be done?

If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer or with more than one library you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply. The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different. You can directly access the content of the iPod and play it through iTunes and you can drag and drop whatever you want to the iPod from either library:
    Using iPod with Multiple computers
Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
    Syncing Music to iPod
Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod

  • Adding and Removing Tunes from iPod nano

I am a 68 year old man who has loved music for many years and has an extensive music collection so my kids gave me an iPodnano for Christmas 2007. I hardly touched it for over a year because of fear of and unfamiliarity with new technologies but recently decided to give it a try.
My fears were well-founded. I don't know how it happened but lots of things are on my iPod that I don't know how they got there and that I want to remove and I also have lots of songs that I want to add to the iPod but I can do neither.
I read the manual for the 3d generation iPod I have and it did not bhelp. To remove songs the manual states, " In iTunes, select iPod nano in the source list." When I turn on iTunes there is no "source list" taht I can find. The same thing happens when the manual refers to a "Devices" icon which I cannot find either. And although I can see what tunes I have on my iPod by looking at it, I don't know how to make what I have on my iPod appear on my computer scrteen when I'm in iTunes.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated or else my iPod nano is pretty much useless to me.
    Thanks.

the source list on itunes is the grey blue section on the left hand side of itunes, where it lists your libraries and the store.
When the ipod is connected to the computer you will see devices on the left hand side of itunes between itunes store and playlists.
if the ipod is not showing there I would try another USB port on the computer (if on a desk top use the back of the tower).
If still not showing at that point I would make sure you are running the proper system for the unit.
Try those steps first and if still having the issure of the ipod not showing there are other steps on the support pages or you can call apple but if the ipod is over a year old they will have to charge you to walk you through steps on the phone but they can email you for free the articles that will solve the issue at that point.
