FM tuner on Zen Mi

I was wondering if there is anyway in decreasing the amount of static i hear whenever i try listening to the radio on my Zen Micro, because sometimes it sounds crystal clear, and then other times it sounds like crap, there's gotta be away where it could always be crystal clear.

i think the ZM headphones have an antena embedded in them, so if youre using different headphones that might explain things a bit.

Good idea but unfortunally iTunes does not initally support or recognise the Zen Micro nor any other players other than the ipod. There are regular posts on the forum about this issue. I am unsure to wheather this is correct, maybe somone else on the forum may know, but there has been word of some people somewhere who have or are devloping plug-ins for iTunes for other devices other than the ipod. But what they are called or who they are i am unsure you may need to look around for that. I don't want to send you on a wild goose chase so i would wait untill you hear from another member of the forum.

  • Zen Micro FM Tu

Anyone know how to work this with the car stereo. I am figured out how to tune the Zen, but have no idea where to go from there. Can anyone give me a step by step guide on how to play the Zen through the car stereo. Do I need anything else besides the FM tuner which in included? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    DandyDon,
Did you get the seperate FM Tuner with it, or are you referring to the FM capabilities of the player itself? The FM option in the player itself is just for a radio, for playback. You can't use that to transmit a signal to the radio in your car. You would need a seperate FM Tuner for that, that can transmit a signal (like this).

  • Zen Vision M 30gb, used to be able to download music from I tunes, can't now, need he

I had another computer with I tunes loaded, also used Zen vision M on it along with I Pod, new computer has both products downloaded on it, but for some reason it wont recognize the Zen or let me download music from the i tunes library like i used to. also this computer uses windows vista. Can anyone help

So, you need an older version of the iOS app, because the current version no longer works on your iPod touch.
If you do regular backups of your hard drive (as you should), such as by using Apple's built-in Time Machine (if you use a Mac), you may find the older version of the app in the backup archive, and restore it (replacing the newer version).  They are stored in the iTunes Media folder, in the Mobile Applications sub-folder.  You should then be able to sync the older version to your iPod touch.
I can't think of any other way to get it back...
NOTE:  An 2nd gen iPod touch can run up to iOS 4.2.1.  If your iPod touch is running something earlier, and that is why the app no longer works, you can also consider updating the iPod's iOS.
I use an even older iPhone (original).  I avoid this potential problem by aways updating its apps on the iPhone, not in iTunes on the computer.  When I do it on the iPhone, it will not download a newer version of an app that won't run on my old iPhone.

  • Zen Micro FM Tuner --

Just bought a Zen Micro. Was glad that Creative has maintained their impeccable audio quality in this new player but things are way different with the built-in FM tuner. The reception was horrible, no matter how I position it and how I move the earphone cables around, I just cannot get a good reception - there's always static/white noise in the background. The other FM tuners I have receives just fine. Is there going to be a fix (firmware or otherwise) for this otherwise great player?

Do you li've next to a radio tower by any chance?
I knew trhe FM tuner wouldn't be amazing but it get's the job done. Stations with good reception will generally come in clear through the Micro. It's not something that should totally surprise you, every review mentioned the fact that the Micro got moderate to poor reception.

  • ZEN 8GB FM Tuner stopped tuning

The FM tuner worked fine for a month or so, then just quit tuning!? Can hear fm carrier at the tuner auto-scan starting point, but when auto-scan is invoked, nothing is discovered in an environment where previously?*many* stations?had been discovered. It acts *as if* the tuner is unable to change frequencies.
Tried reload of firmware, MP3 recovery tool, different sets of earphones.
Has anybody in ZEN-land?experienced and solved this before?
    Thx!? -- Oji --

  • Zen Micro FM Tuner Quest

I am looking around for a MP3 player & I like the looks of the Zen Micro. I notice that it comes with a FM tuner. I know you can listen to radio stations, but will the FM tuner be able to broadcast the music I have stored on the Zen Micro to my car radio like the Ipod does with its external tuner? If not, is this even an option with the Micro & if it is which product will I have to buy to make this happen?

You would have to buy an FM Transmitter in order to play your Zen Micro MP3's on your car stereo in the way that you want. The FM Tuner just allows the Micro to play FM stations.

  • Zen v plus fm tuner he

how do you get to change it to a certain fm station on a zen v plus 2 gb? i try to auto scan and it passes the station i want it at. thanks

You can manually tune a preset by pressing the 'play' button, then use left/right on the joystick to tune down/up in frequency. You can save the new frequency to the preset by pressing the 'back' button.
Autoscan probably misses the station you want because the signal strength is too low, so manually tuning might not get good results.Message Edited by daytona955 on 05-04-200703:7 AM

  • Can MP3s from the zen micro be played using an FM tuner like the ipod

where can we get an accessory like the ipod's wherein we can play music from the zen micro on a car stereo/home stereo using an FM tuner wherein the micro itself will work like a remote control? thanks a lot.

Anywhere. Belkin makes the Tunecast FM tuner -- just make sure to get the TunecastII with the LCD selector.

  • Zen Micro & I-Tunes music transfer

My DH just bought me a Zen Micro. I have already amassed quite a collection on my computer (Toshiba-Satellite Running XP) I have amassed this collection via I-Tunes. When I have tried to transfer my folders from my I-Tunes library to the Creative Library... I was told Creative doesn't recognize the format in which they are in. I-Tunes show they are MP4's and I have changed the settings on Creative to recognize all the available types of sound files. So does anyone know of a converter for this type of problem or am I just up a creek without a paddle? Thanks! - gjkecarlson

The key here, is are they from the iTunes Store or just encoded from your own CDs?
If they're from the iTunes Store then you can either burn to CDRW and rip again as MP3/WMA, or use JHymn (Google the name).
If they're from your own CDs and without protection iTunes can convert them to MP3s. This is probably the easiest option. I'm not sure if MediaSource will, but there's loads of others that can failing iTunes.

  • Creative Zen Nano Plus BLUE (1gb FM tuner) Connect Problems Model DAP-FL0

We purchased two identical Zen Nano MP3 players for xmas and now one will not be recognized when it is connected to the usb port. The sound it makes is a double sound but the dri've does not appear in explorer. If I connect the other one to the same port and cable it works fine. Thanks in advance!

Try updating the firmware on the player, but if one works fine on the same port, and the other doesn't, it's possible that player is faulty.

  • Help!! Zen Micro FM Tuner not workin

Hi all, Just recently I tried to listen to the radio on my Zen and it won't recieve any stations. It doesn't pickup any signals at all. It scans but comes up with nothing. It used to work fine but hadn't used it in a while and now this!
Has anyone had a similar problem and if so was it fixable?
I reinstalled the latest firmware and that didn't help.
    Cheers?

Perform the recovery mode first in your unit.Afterwhich, scan the radio frequency again but try to do it on an open area to get a good signal.
If this doesn't rectify the issue, contact our Customer Support in your region.
    Hope it helps.

  • Can the Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra be Connected to my home tuner/amplifi

Sorry if this topic has been covered . . . I'm new to this whole MPS player world! If I'm going to spend the bucks on a 40 or 60 GB player, I'd sure like to be able to use it as my sole source of music on my home stereo/hi-fi system. So, at the risk of asking what may be a really dumb question, 'can this device be connected to my amplifier/tuner (using RCA plugs, I imagine)'. The amp. has several TAPE , TAPE 2 types of female connections available . . .
    I greatly appreciate any/all advice/responses . . .

Y Cable is what you need - you can find them at radio shack or walmart, etc.

  • Zen Touch i-tunes supp

I did an internet search looking for a driver that might make the touch usable in itunes, i.e. transfer tracks from one to the other, does anyone know if there is a driver or plugin that would do this. Or any other good transfer programs, all the ones in the FAQ i didnt like.

The FAQ post itself links here to the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net, if you hadn't spotted the link. Personally I'm a big fan of Notmad Explorer, but I also use Creative's MediaSource. People can hate these though, so best to try for yourself.
